Bee's Bakery #2

Death by Cookie Dough

Rate this book
Three cookies, two baking contestants, and one midnight murder… Whodunit?

Ruby and Bee, bakery owners with a background in sleuthing, are ecstatic when they’re asked to judge a local baking contest. Especially when they find out their pet cat, Cookie, can come along. Mystery, Maine, their new small town, has kept them busy serving cookies, meeting people, and even solving a murder.

Judging a contest is far more relaxing than competing in one.

At least, that’s what they think until two local bakers turn up dead on the morning of the event. And the local police are convinced it was a freak accident rather than a crime.

Ruby and Bee know what they have to do—solve the murder mystery, keep the town safe, and avoid the attentions of the town detective.

The bakers must figure out whodunit and protect their home town. Find out if they can solve the mystery in the second book of the Bee’s Bakery Cozy Mystery series from USA Today bestseller, Rosie A. Point. Grab your copy today!

It was finally almost time for Ruby and Jamie to get married, but poor Ruby was a mess as far as her wedding planning went and now she had a double murder to deal with. Jamie didn't really get involved in this one much, but it sounded like he was making use of all his girlfriend and Bee's escapades by using those ideas to write a thriller. Poor guy was trying to find his niche again since he really didn't feel called to be a detective anymore, but I can't say I blame him for not wanting to be known as "that rich guy that doesn't do anything."

The mystery had more red herrings than usual, so I was never really sure whodunit. The showdown was a good one because Ruby was able to run to the safety of her car. A fairly unlikely assistant happened to come along right before the police got there. Ruby finally got to turn the tables on Bee and was teasing her all along about her having a crush on Det. Winters. But it was pretty cute that now Bee had a date for the wedding which actually happened without incident. A super sweet ending, and now I'm eager to read the next when it comes out!

Oh what fun this second book in the spin-off series with the most fun characters, Bee and Ruby who in a previous series owned a traveling baking business and decided to settle down in Mystery, Maine. Bee's dream was to open a bakery and Ruby is now engaged to her incredible boyfriend, Jamie, who is so supportive and keeps Ruby calm. With their wedding only a few weeks away, Bee and Ruby are asked to Judge the annual local baking contest. Happy to do it, since how hard can it be? And what fun while preparing for her wedding and running their bakery. That is until there is the murder of two competition team baking helpers, squashed by a runaway truck. The contest has to be postponed. With the rioting of baking contestants who want the contest to go on, and the fighting of the two top contenders whose helpers were murdered. Bee and Ruby have to figure it all out and find a murderer so the town can get back to normal and the contest could happen. And Ruby can get back to wedding plans even though her planner gave the job to her niece, a young college student. What else can go wrong? Can Jamie keep her calm? With so many potential suspects, how can they narrow them down and find a murderer? This is a fun new series that is a must read if you like a wonderfully crafted characters and a mystery that keeps you guessing to the end. I can't wait for more! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Bee and Ruby were asked to be judges for the local baking contest. As the contest gets closer, a murder occurs and the contest is postponed. The town people become irate and trouble begins. Unfortunately, the local police believe it was an accident and not a murder. This leaves it up to Bee and Ruby to prove this was a murder and identify the murderer. There were plenty of twists, turns and secrets for them to investigate. Simultaneously, Ruby is dealing with wedding details and the lack of a wedding planner that is causing her headaches. Will the wedding still take place?

I love the characters. The friendship, camaraderie and love they shared for each other were wonderful! It made you feel like they were your friends and felt like you lived in the town. The plot and characters were well-written, making you feel like you are friends. This was a perfect cozy mystery with just the perfect amount of humor, mystery, intrigue, and adventure that will keep any reader completely engaged. I highly recommend the series.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The small town of Mystery is seriously crazy, and crazy fun to read about in the world created by Rosie A Point

Obsessed with competition, this town goes wild about an upcoming baking contest.

A multi-person team contest, there is extra room for competitive attitudes and troubles.

Through murder and mayhem into the mux, and add a whole lotta secrets, plus wedding planning mayhem for Ruby, and things get deadly, dangerous and great fun to read.

Two of my favorite sisterhood sleuths are on the cusp of adding a husband to the mix - if they can pull off the wedding, despite losing the church and the band.

Is there another potential romance lurking for Bee?

Lots of quirky fun - and did I mention murderous mayhem and secrets- in the latest adventures for Ruby and Bee.

Fighting in the streets!

Ruby is trying to plan the perfect wedding, but nothing is working out, not even her wedding planner. As if that isn’t stressful enough, she and Bee have been chosen to judge the annual Mystery Baking Contest being held tomorrow. Ruby is hoping things will calm down after that but when she discovers the bodies of two of the contestants it’s obvious her hope was unfounded. The contest is on hold, the town is rioting, and a murderer is on the loose!

I really like the way Rosie A. Point develops her characters as the story goes along. The story has a good plot with some drama and danger thrown in to keep it interesting. This series is shaping up nicely. I can’t wait to read the next book. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Bakers gone wild

A crazy caper and wedding planning has Ruby stressed to the max. Judging the town’s baking contest was supposed to be fun and a good business move but turns into a nightmare when two of the bakers are found dead. Town riots, lost lost relatives, secrets everywhere and a budding romance developing between Bee and Detective Winters make this case confusing to say the least. With just a few weeks until the wedding Ruby and Bee have to kick it into high gear if they’re going to find the culprit before Ruby walks down the aisle.
Fun, funny, wacky small town cozy. Definitely a confounding mystery for reader and sleuth alike. A heart pounding then heartwarming ending. Enjoyed this story very much.

Baking competition gone awry

Bee and Ruby are excited about being judges for the forthcoming baking competition in their town. Two of the bakers are accidentally killed and the competition is cancelled. Ruby and Bee do not think it's an accident and use their sleuthing skills to find the killer. An entertaining read about the antics of Ruby and Bee with some hilarity thrown in. I love the series and the characters.

Culinary cozy, suitable for all.
As Ruby and Jamie prepare for their upcoming wedding, Bee and Ruby have been tapped to judge a baking contest, a hotly contested one.
The ladies arrive at the contest site and find the bodies of two of the contestants...and scurry after any clues they come across.
We get a variety of characters with foibles and good points.
I received an ARC gratis and offer my honest opinion in the same.

Awesome!

Really enjoyed this second book in the new series with Ruby & Bee. Baking contest turns deadly. Everyone thinks it’s an accident but our heroes know differently. It’s a race against time. Can they figure it out before the killer gets away? Pick up a copy to see what happens. Can’t wait for the next one.

Another good cosy murder mystery set in the town of Mystery, Maine. Bee and Ruby own a bakery that is known as the best bakery in town. They are asked to judge a baking contest, and they find two murders in the venue. So they are sleuths on the side and try to figure out who did this awful murder.

some parts were very predictable, and the pacing felt uneven at times, but it was an easy and quick read. overall, a light and mildly entertaining mystery, though still not particularly memorable
