Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).
During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.
"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.
"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."
Her current ongoing work is Gakuen Alice.

Dejando de lado el tema de que me sigue dando el ick la pareja del profesor y la Yuka ha sido un volumen muy sólido.
La verdad es que me ha sabido mal x el Rei aka Persona y la escena en que el director de primaria les dice a él y Runa que son todo lo que tiene y la Runa decide quedarse a su lado... Damn girl, lo de sentirse necesitada lo tiene arraigadisimo en su persona. Hablando del public enemy #1el dire de primaria... Recoges lo que siembras bonito! Muy satisfactorio ver como sufría, aunque no acabo de entender la lógica detrás de los efectos secundarios de los Alice que le ha introducido la Yuka but oh well, es lo que toca! Btw lo de su Alice es inesperado y espero que lo expliquen mejor o se hable más al respecto porque es kinda interesante tmb.
Enfin, con esto concluyen los tomos publicados en España por Glenat, una pena realmente que se fuera a pique cuando quedaba tan poco de la historia pero bueno, a ver cómo sigue!

Gakuen Alice is a shoujo manga and released from Hanatoyume. I tend to don't like shoujo manga but this manga is good one for me. A protagonist is Mikan who has an special ability called Alice and she was grew by her grand father because her father already died and her mother threw away when she was child. Vol. 20, readers can know a story of Mikan's parents and the reason why her mother threw away. I like Izumi who is Mikan's father so this volume is very sad!!!

First off when i first picked up the series i thought it was going to be a cute childrens story, boy was i wrong! The plot and characters are so developed you feel like you really know them! They each have their own secrets and hdden pasts. By this book you should know about the ESP and Natsumes disease so ill talk about that. I never expected the main love interest to be put through something live a life shortening alice in this is book, i really do feel bad for Mikan, yes she has Luka, Hotaru, and everyone but i really feel like Natsume dying would give her nothing to live for. Not that he dies or anything... yet but with his condition worsening i just don't know. I only now totlly figured out what the ESP's problem is and let me just say this is one of the most twisted, confusingly amazing plots i've ever seen in a book. If you don't read manga id still say give it a try it really is an amazing amazing book. Great job Higuchi!!

Hodnotím 72% Jazyk: Aj
Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.
Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.
První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.
Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.
Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.
Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.
Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.
Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...
Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné
Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

Emocionalmente no me encuentro tan apegada a la historia de la madre de Mikan, lo que me llamo más la atención, y toco mi corazón, fue la historia de el profesor -padre de Mikan- con Rei (persona). Ese cariño profesor-alumno, casi llegando a lo paternal, me conmovió, fue lo mejor del tomo y por eso le doy cuatro estrellas, por haber movido las fibras más profundas de mi ser.
La manipulación, la culpa y dolor de Rei, fueron tan bien llevados, que logro conmoverme y hacerme olvidar por un momento que es ficción.
En un apartado, me dolió lo que Yuca le hizo a Narumi, no puedo evitarlo. Llegados a este punto, se entiende completamente que la madre de Mikan fue siempre una víctima, pero a pesar de entenderlo, como personaje sigue sin gustarme, a pesar de las cosas heroicas que a hecho y las razones que tiene. No es que no me pueda gustar más adelante, ya que mi experiencia con los personajes, siempre es como un carrusel, así que nada esta dicho.

Wow, I can't believe this story getting interesting way,plus my fav teacher died by the hands of the evil wretched smart elementary principal. Yuka promised with igarashi (natsume's mother) in 4years, she took Yuka away from Alice academy. Shiki always there for Yuka in need. Poor narumi, he loved Yuka n he never let her go but Yuka used her Alice but made narumi unconscious.

It has been a long time since I set down and read a very long manga. Yup, you’re not mistaken, there are 180 chapters and 31 volumes in total. Ns truth to be told I actually wanted it to continue, but maybe it will, in a spin-off series, I am still dreaming about that, but if t will, I’ll definitely put the notice on the blog.
But let me get back to the story. To say the truth it has been around a week since I started writing this review, and it’s only because there’s a lot that I want to say, but every time I want to normally start writing the idea slips my mind. I know, it’s so frustrating. Therefore, please do not be hard on me if my review today is too out of blue. I loved this story a lot. I was on the verge of dropping it a few times, but nevertheless the story’s intrigue was too high for me to drop it. Why did I want to drop it? Well, the answer is very simple and unfortunately it contains a major spoiler, but I will say it nevertheless. As you know there are 31 volumes and 180 chapters and in 179 of those our characters are still elementary school kids, the time is going very slow in the story. We finally see the 16 year old Mikan and Natsume only in the last chapter. Yes, that was the main reason why I was frustrated with the story. It covers so many problems, but because the solvers are 10-11 year olds it’s a bit unreal. The love that Mikan has to Natsume and he to her is too unreal for 11-yeal-olds. They truly love each other and trust me, from the part when Mikan leaves whom her parents are I was crying. I had to put away my tablet and compose myself to continue reading. The last 2 volumes are something that I believe everyone should focus their attention. Every emotions come bare, every secret, the author just takes a knife and thrusts it into our hearts.
I remember when I finished this story I couldn’t fall asleep and truth to be told I couldn’t read anything else for several days. All my thoughts were getting back to it. I was getting back and thinking everything over. I believe this is one of the stories that everyone should read. It covers so many human issues that if I start discussing each and every one of them it will take me days maybe even weeks to cover it.
All characters are fantastic and we see a lot of theirs development. Some characters stay as villains, but some do covert to a good side and trust me you want to be there to see it. I can say that all of them have left a deep impact on me. I still can’t agree to the choices that the principals made in the end. Better to say my mind understands, but my heart doesn’t want to acknowledge it. However, the moment when Natsume confessed to Mikan will be I my mind for a long time. I really need to make that list of best ever confessions. I am not a big fan of the whole fate thing, but here I was felt it from the beginning that’s why some moments shattered my heart.
I hope you will start reading this story. It did take me a long time to read, but I was reading it after 12 and that week was full of projects and exam preparations. In my normal days I would have finished it maybe in 2 full days. Are you ready to get to know great characters and also people because of whose ambitions lots of lives were sacrifices and many dreams destroyed. I read the entire Gakuen Alice story online. Mind you it is still going. This story after volume 20 picks up speed fast. It's a steep climb of Omg and did not see that coming. I enjoy this manga to a ridiculous extent. I highly recommend this to anyone who really like shoujo. Even though they are elementary schoolers don't not be fazed because they have a mind of a mind middle schooler and the mouth to match. Best ever. Well done!!!!

ugh! Why must this happen?! I hate that elementary prinicipal! He even has a clone alice. Tsk! Good thing that Yuka inserted those alice stones in him. Gosh! That principial is so freaking annoying! He's been manipulating Serio and Luna ever since. >:| That's why i can't exactly be mad at those two. Lol
