I thought that this was okay. It was my first book from this author and I think I would pick something up from them again. The chemistry between the main characters was good and I like the family dynamic between the siblings. What dragged the rating down was all of the unnecessary drama of Irene being upset that her brother & best friend were dating. It felt over the top and was dragged out a bit.

This story gave me warm fuzzies ! I love the closeness of this family, how the stick together and support for each other and friends is just amazing. Boone and Livs struggles so emphasize that. Can’t wait to read about the rest of this crew.

The Patient Heart of Love

Siblings in a big family dream of how wonderful life would be as an only child—able to receive the total, undivided attention of doting parents. Similarly, an only child often looks longingly at the antics and interactions that are integral in a household with several children. So, it was natural that petite, green-eyed brunette, Olivia Jacobs, loved spending time at bff Irene Callaghan’s home. Irene not only had six amazing brothers—older brother Boone, her twin, Clay, and younger brothers Brody, Dylan, and Levi, but she was the only girl in a household! Life at the Callaghan home was always testosterone charged but full of high jinks, but most of all, love.

The two best friends did have the shared experience of growing up in a single parent household—Irene’s dad had been a gambler who floated in and out of his family’s life when he needed money to support his gambling addiction—often taking the money mom needed to feed her brood, or when that was gone, ferreting out the small savings of his children gained through chores or birthday gifts which they tucked away under beds in shoe boxes or hid in sock drawers. And the memories of his presence in his children’s lives were not happy memories. But they did have a strong, loving mother to guide and provide for her children until her premature death when eldest of the Callaghan children, Boone became the “man of the house” in the absence of their drifting, gambling addicted father. So, it was only natural that Boone continued in that role as head of the family.

The family lived on the edge of a Grey Peak National Park, so it was only natural that the family was experienced as campers and hikers, and Boone turned the family passion into a business. The Boone enterprise rented out campers and camping equipment to vacationing visitors to the area. And overtime, as the business took off they offered more services and equipment.

Sweet Olivia’s mom had died in a car accident before the young girl had had time to truly know her mother, but she knew of her mother from her dad—a man who had loved his wife with all his heart. Olivia’s dad was a man without advanced education, but who had an impeccable work ethic, and dedicated himself to providing all he could provide for his “girls” often working two jobs. And his hard work allowed the family to buy a home, cars and a college education for his only child. And, he provided more than things —he provided love for his only child, but he also shared his memories with mom so that Olivia would know her through him.

As time passed, and the friendship of Olivia and Irene continued, they shared each other’s like, dislikes and secrets. Even when Olivia went off to college, the two friends remained close, keeping up with each other’s boyfriends. The one secret that Olivia did not share with her bff Irene was that Olivia carried a secret passion for Irene’s oldest brother, Boone—a passion that the drunken Olivia on her 21st birthday shared with Boone when she requested that for her birthday gift, he free her of her V-card—a request that he did not grant—he had a date that night with his girlfriend, Carrie.

But 4 years later, when Olivia returns to their small town of Sunville to care for her father who had had a heart attack, and hopefully to find a job to help cover her dad’s medical expenses. But Olivia’s secret passion for Boone is still alive and well. And while she is no longer a virgin, her heart still longs for Boone.

But while Olivia longed for him, Boone had been plagued by his interest in Carrie until recently. By chance, he has recently discovered that not only had Carrie had really cared for him, but he had been a substitute in the confused girl’s obsession for a man in the nearby town of Liberty. And when Carrie attempts to claim that the other man had fathered the child, the truth of Boone as father is revealed. So, now, learning of Carrie’s unstable mental health, he has gained custody of the 4-year-old Adam. But as a single father trying to run a business, he needs a babysitter. Fate is once providing Boone and Olivia a chance to discover love.

KC Crowne’s continuation of Mountain Men of Liberty romance series provides the reader with an interconnected series of romances located in the community of Liberty, Utah and the surrounding areas. This tale follows a thread from an earlier romance, Small Town Mountain Daddy when Carrie attempts to snag her dream man Ezra Carpenter by claiming that he is her son, Adam’s dad. And, while characters from previous Liberty romances pass through, this romance, like all of the Liberty novels, can be read as a stand-alone romance. I am disappointed that a careful review of details like last name of a main character, Olivia, was Jacobs in the beginning of the romance when Mrs. Wilson, the departing nanny recommends her to Boone, but was switched to Jones in conversation with dad’s lawyer and proposal from Boone by the end.

This book starts out with a flash back to Olivia Jacob's twenty first birthday when her best friend, Irene Callaghan, takes her out to celebrate and gets her very drunk. They have a brief, albeit enlightening, conversation about Irene's older brother, Boone, and Irene's basically forbids Olivia to even think about getting together with him because it's soooo wrong in her opinion. Irene goes to the restroom and while she's away, Olivia calls Boone to talk to him especially since she's got liquid courage. She informs him that a stranger bought her an appletini and he gets concerned then and tells her she shouldn't be accepting drinks from strangers. She laughs it off and tell s him that she watched the bartender make the drink in front of her, so it's all good. She then confesses to him that she's had a crush on him forever and she'd like to lose her "v-card" to him. He tells her that he currently has a girlfriend and that he's on his way to pick her and his sister up because he's worried about them being out by themselves. He picks them off and when he walks Olivia to her door he has to overcome the huge urge to kiss her. Fast forward several years and Olivia comes back to Sunville to take care of her father who is in the hospital. In the meantime we see that Boone has a four year old son, who he has temporary, full custody of and he's in desperate need to find someone to take care of him while he goes to deal with an emergency at his family company. He ends up calling Olivia since he just learned from his sister that she's back in town and she accepts to help him out. She gets there to babysit and the attraction between the two of them is still there, as strong as its ever been. He gets back from his emergency and one thing leads to another and the give in to their urges and sleep together. Olivia is facing high debt with her father's hospital stay and hasn't quite found a paying job in her specialty, interior design. Boone offers her a job as live-in nanny for his son, Adam. She accepts and moves in with him and their attraction continues to grow until they can't avoid it and give in, becoming embroiled into a forbidden relationship. Forbidden by Olivia's best friend and Boone's younger sister, Irene. I'll leave you here and you'll have to get the book to find out the rest. There's lots of heat and family tension as well as trouble with an ex girlfriend, mother to Adam. This really is a wonderful heartfelt romance story that really pulls on the heart strings. You can't help but fall in love with the characters and the romantic storyline line. It's truly a best seller in all of the good ways. I highly recommend this one for all romance lovers.

We are back to see more of our friends of Liberty. We travel to a nearby town to hear more about Boone and Olivia that we met in Ezra and Bex’s story. Olivia has known Boone since she has been young. Growing up, Olivia was best friends with Boone sister. On the night of Olivia’s 21st birthday she has a little bit too much to drink and she professes her unrequited love to Boone, asking him if he will be her first. Although Boone is very flattered, and is attracted to Olivia he is already seeing someone; not to mention Olivia has been drinking and all of this is not a good combination. The story picks up years later after Olivia has grown up, gone away to college and now has returned home because her father has taken ill. She is home to help care for him and reestablish her interior design career. In the years that have passed, Boone has not only discovered that he has a little boy but he has also established temporary full custody of him. It is at this moment when two people from the past are about to intersect again. Boone finds himself in bind for child care as his normal nanny cannot watch his son, so he needs to find a new nanny that can be flexible with their schedule and available right away. His sister mentions how Olivia is back in town and she might be able to help him out. This brings all sorts of old memories back to him. Is it possible for two people to carry a torch for each other for years, to fight it, be in denial and then a moment happens that just changes everything for them? Well Olivia always felt like things were just not meant to be with Boone, that it just never worked out. However, a new opportunity has lead them together in a professional setting where their feelings for each other will be put to the rest. Will Boone and Olivia succumb to the tension between them? Will they get a happily ever after. You will be on the edge reading each page wanting to find out how things are going to turn out for these two. There story is definitely was yet another great read to add to the Liberty collection.

Talk about chemistry! Temperatures definitely rise when.Boone and Olivia are in the same room. She carried a torch for him as a teenager, and now a few years later, the torch is relit. They have both changed in the intervening years. He is now a single dad of an adorable four year mini me and just happens to need a nanny. (His interactions with his son make my heart melt). Olivia has finished her college education and is ready to start her own interior design business, but taking care of her very ill father and moving back to her small hometown has left her with few prospects and nearly broke. (She is a loving daughter determined to see her father get well). A night of babysitting young Adam, Boone’s son, leads to a very passionate encounter and a boatload of guilt. Boone’s sister is Olivia’s best friend, the friend who warned her not to get together with her brother years ago, and Olivia had promised she wouldn’t do so. Desperate to pay some of her father’s mounting bills, Olivia agrees to be a nanny for Adam, but with the condition that there will be no more make out sessions and they will keep being friends only. Yeah, well that plan goes by the wayside fairly quickly as Boone and Olivia can’t keep their hands off each other. Both know that what they have between them is something special, but fate and circumstances as well as one irate sister/best friend serve to pull them apart. But the heart wants what the heart want. How and when we these two lovers find their way back to each other?

Wow what a great start to a new series and with author you’ll never be disappointed. Olivia (Liv)Jacob has always has a huge crush on her best friend Irene Callaghan brother Boone but she was told by Irene that he is off limits but on her 21st birthday she drunk dials him and tells him of her crush and wants to give him her Vcard but he tells her he is seeing someone and rejects her offer, embarrassed she moves away and the only reason she is back in Sunville is because her father is very sick in hospital and then she see’s Boone with a child and her heart breaks all over again but now she needs a job to pay off her dad bills. Boone Callaghan has sole custody of his 4yr old son Adam and when a family business emeracey comes up he needs a nanny fast and his sister tells him that Liv is back in town and needs a job so he calls her and she agrees but that’s because she still loves him. When they meet again the chemistry between is still burning hot but it doesn’t take long for them to give into temptation but they need to keep it a secret from Irene and now his ex is back causing all sorts of trouble for them both. And when Irene finds out about them being together she forces Liv to leave but will Boone let her go or will he fight for what he knows and feels towards Liv in his heart. Guilt, loss, grief, forbidden love and huge obstacles are just some of the things in this book that keeps you hanging on till the very end. Brilliant book, loved it.

Was okay but not quite what I was expecting

Mountain Man's Gift is the fifteenth book in the Mountain Men of Liberty series and the story of Olivia Jacob's and Boone Callaghan. This story is a mix of best friend's older brother/younger sister's best friend, nanny/single father, employee/employer, and v-card embarrassment tropes mixed into a story that just did not gel to me. I liked the characters and the concept of the story-line but there were several inconsistent details in the story that annoyed me and had me trying to find what I thought I remembered I had read previously, which I had remembered correctly. But I will say that if you put that aside and just read for some fun then this is an entertaining story. In the end I will admit that I skimmed parts of the book as otherwise I may not have finished it. While I usually quite enjoy this author's books this one was just okay to me, which peeved me as I really wanted to love it based on the book description alone.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own and I know that other readers will love this book. So if you are a fan of this author then read it and make up your own mind. But if you are new to this author then I would suggest starting with an earlier book in this series.

A Love Written In The Stars -
Olivia’s crush on her best friend’s brother was reignited when she had to step in to help him with his son. Boone had been living his life solely for his son and his business since he became a single father, but the moment Olivia moved into his home to look after his son, everything changed. Their will power to keep it professional exploded and they embarked on a steamy and loving secret relationship, that felt right. However, their happy life imploded when they least expected it and it would the revelation of a piece of unexpected news, for them to find their way back to each other.

This was a truly wonderful love story, that spanned years of unrequited love, but when they finally got their acts together, it turned out to be otherworldly amazing. The story also dealt with a few difficult issues, that are emotionally challenging, but will leave you happy with the results. The story had me hooked from the first page and didn’t let go until I reached the end. All I can say is that K. C. Crowne has blown my mind again.

This book follows on from the last book and features some of the secondary characters from the last book.

Olivia and Boone have known each other since they were young as Olivia is best friends with Boone's younger sister. She has had a crush on him for years, when she drunkenly confessed her feelings to him years ago, he wanted to be with her but was already dating someone else.
Years later when Olivia moves back home to help take care of her father, she ends up helping Boone out by babysitting his son, that he has recently gained custody of. Their attraction to each other is still there and they end up sleeping together, but each are afraid of Boone's sister finding out about their hook up as she warned them off each other in the past.
When Boone needs a new nanny, Olivia ends up helping him out as she needs the money and she enjoys spending time with his son. Will Olivia finally be able to live out her teenage fantasies and end up with Boone forever?

This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading all the other books in this series and other books by KC Crowne.

Mountain Man's Gift is delightful and engrossing. It's a standalone novel from the Callaghan Mountain Brother's series, and spin-off series from Mountain Men Of Liberty Series. It's a single dad/nanny story set in a small town. This is Boone's and Olivia story. It's beautifully written with extraordinary characters and great storyline. This small town romance will warm your heart. Steamy chemistry, best friend brother relationship, family, friends to lovers, secret crush, and unrequited love. Olivia is best friend with Irene Callaghan and had always a crush Irene's brother Boone so on her twenty first birthday the proposition him to take her virginity but he decline the offer. Fast forward four years later Olivia is back home to take care of dad. However, she's in need of a job to help pay for expensive medical bills. Boone is now a dad and is need of a live-in nanny and his sister tells him that she's back home and needs a job. Boone gives Olivia the job and the sparks flies between the two. The story was cute and swoon worthy.

The human condition of never quite being satisfied with what we have and thinking the grass is greener. In this case an only child wanting siblings and a child with plenty wishing for sole custody and peace of the love of a parent. Olivia is best friends with Irene Callaghan who is part of a large family and Olivia loves it. Irene’s house is always full of fun and the big family is incredibly loving. Both Irene and Olivia are part of single parent households which is just one more thing they have in common. Olivia has had a crush on one of the Callaghan boys, Boone, and when she makes a special request of him on her birthday he turns her down as he has a girlfriend. She heads off to college and a few years later she heads back to town only to find that her attraction to Boone has not abated at all. But now he needs help and she is only to happy to assist, will Boone realise exactly what he missed out on or will his blinkers stay in place?

Just when I think the last book in the series is my favorite I read the new one. Who would not fall in love with Boone? And for Olivia it was a crush that has lasted since she was in school. Not to mention one drunken phone call to Boone and she swore she would never see him again she was so embarrassed. Boone is amazing, and he’s a father to a four-year-old son he did not know he had until two years ago. He works hard, but surprised to Olivia he’s always had feelings for her. The book follows their relationship through ups and downs, and having to keep your relationship a secret because Olivia is best friends with Boone‘s sister. She could not find out it would ruin everything. Desperate for money Olivia becomes the nanny to Boones four-year-old son Adam. One thing leads to another and love is in the air, not to mention some pretty hot scenes. Olivia‘s father is very sick and in the hospital, Boone has custody hearing coming, they can’t let Olivia’s best friend find out, how much more can this amazing couple with stand and still find their happily ever after?

A compelling & sexy love story...
Oh my, this well crafted story had me experiencing so many emotions. The main characters were admirable, the heroine burdened with her father's debt of unpaid bills & & medical costs, she had no source of income when she returned home to take care of him. Her best friend's brother offered her a live in nanny job for his son, the mother of whom had a few screws loose & lost custody when he was still a baby. It was the answer to her prayers, she'd always more than liked him & he had resisted her charms when she offeredhim her V card when drunk as a skunk on her 21st birthday. She was excellent with his son who adored her & he was more than taken with her himself. He failed miserably trying to contain his increasing attraction but his sister would go balistic which she did when the brothers commented on the obvious chemstry between the two. She came to her senses & apologised which augured well if she wanted to be an aunt to their twin girls. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

Olivia has loved Boone forever. Even offered him her V card on her twenty first birthday. But Boone was in a relationship at the time and turned her down. Flash forward a few years, Boone is a single father with a little boy. Olivia comes back to town to take care of her sick father. With no job and her dad’s medical bills piling up, she takes a job as Boones nanny for his son. Even though she knows it’s dangerous considering her feelings. I really liked this story. I love all the mountain man story’s . What I didn’t like was Boones sister Irene interfering so much in their relationship. I really hated how she felt she had the right to tell them they couldn’t be together. That she wasn’t having it. That part of the story irritated me greatly. Almost made me not want to finish the story, but I did and it was ok. Looking forward to the next mountain man book. Love this author.

This book brings us Olivia and Boone, Irene and Adam. Olivia has always had a crush on Boone, even when he refused to take her v-card after a drunken night on her 21st birthday. A few years later, Boone is back, and as long as it has been, Olivia still has feelings for him. Boone is Olivia's best friend Irene's brother, so technically that makes him off limits. However, Boone is in need of a nanny for his 4 year old son who he has custody of, and Olivia needs money to help cover her father's medical bills, so she agrees to help out Boone. She falls in love with Adam, and as much as they try to stay away from each other, Boone and Olivia give into their feelings. When Irene finds out, it is not pretty, and Olivia breaks up with Boone. Will they end up back together, you must read this book. I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

I loved this book so much I preordered the next in the series. Boone has custody of his son for now. Olivia is back in town to help her father, she needs a job because bills are piling up. Boone offers her a job as a live in nanny. Boone and Olivia have a past and the chemistry is there now as it was before. Irene is against them getting together and there is the mother of Adam the son she had with Boone. So their romance is starting but of course there is some trouble. Boone is just the perfect take charge kind of guy and no matter what Olivia is upbeat. The story is wonderful and I enjoyed it. This is another great book by KC Crowne. Loved it. It had humor and drama and it was just a great story.

Olivia and Boone have known each other for years. Olivia is best friends with Boone’s sister Irene. One of the last memories she has with Boone is one she can’t forget. She was so embarrassed about what she confessed to him. Eventually she grew up and moved away from their small town to go to school and work but now she is back to help her ailing dad. Working for Boone just brings back all the old feelings she had and soon Boone and Olivia can’t deny what they are feeling. When Liv finds out everything changes and Olivia is left heartbroken. Can she move on after everything that has happened?

Really good read. Well written and entertaining.

When Boone got a call from his brother about one of their camping customers being stuck an no one wad available to help but him. He had to find someone to watch his son.He called his nanny only to be told she had to leave her son an his wife were in the hospital he called his sister an she said her best friend could probably help him.He didn't even know Liv was back but he called an she came right away.Boone couldn't believe the beauty in front of him was Liv .They didn't have time to talk but he couldn't wait to get back an talk to her.There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted until the very last page an will be begging for more.

I really enjoyed this book. This swoon worthy tale was the just right combination of emotion, steam, sweetness, cuteness, drama and heart to capture my attention and give me some wonderful feels. As I'm a huge forbidden romance fanatic, I loved the single dad/live in nanny angle. It added a ton of tension and sparks to the story along with a tantalizing hint of naughtiness. Wrap it all up with a holiday twist and you have yourself a delightful romance that is perfect to curl up someplace cozy, with the warm beverage of you choosing and get your much deserved read on. This is my elective, candid review.

This is A Callaghan Mountain Brothers series love story for Boone Callaghan and Olivia. Man that is one way to get the man of your dreams. I loved how these two meet back up and get caught by Boones sister and Olivia's best friend. I loved how all the Callaghan's come to help Olivia after the lose her family member. My heart breaks for both Boone and his son that only want Olivia back. I hated how Olivia is forced to leave after her loses only to find out she has a surprise too. I loved this drama and passion filled love story and can not wait for the next book.

Liv is best friends with Irene and has been since they were kids. Boone is Irene’s oldest brother. Live has always had a thing for him but Irene always said that her brothers were off limits and always told her brothers the same about Liv. However after years of seeing each other, things get wild when Boone has to rely on Liv to watch his son. This story has so many good twists and turns in it and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It also had some really heartbreaking elements to it as well so keep a tissue box close by. Can’t wait to see how the story’s unfold with the rest of the Callaghan crew!!!!

A close knit group of characters that work so well together made for a great read.

Olivia has had the hots for her best friend’s older Boone since she was a teenager, she hasn’t really talked to him since the night she asked him to take her vCard . It’s been almost five years since she seen him and now she’s back in town to take of her dad. She needs a job so her best friend suggest to her brother that she would be great to care for his child. But definitely no hanky panky that would be weird. Not so weird to Boone and Olivia. This is another awesome romance by this author.
