This one was nice, but sort of drawn out? I got to a point where I REALLY wanted to read about the side characters, rather than the main ones-

It’s Mink, one of the few romance authors out there who has never let me down yet!!
It had everything I love about a Mink book:
an insane obsessed alpha hero who marries the heroine as a mafia arrangement. He has no interest in loving the heroine but all it takes is for him to see her hissing and spitting at him like a pissed off feline and he’s done for.
A feisty and fierce heroine can still be soft and sweet when it counts. She has no interest in falling for her husband, even if he does make certain parts of her melt.
A fat grumpy cat that hates others but loves the heroine.
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all but he didn’t come off as a manwhore. Loyalty means a lot to him as his father taught him to be loyal to his family and his woman, so no cheating here. Heroine is a virgin and gives the hero the gift of claiming all of her firsts for himself. No others, no cheating or abuse or sharing. HEA with epilogue a few months out.

I've never read this author before, but I really liked this one. Which is also surprising because this is a novella and those usually don't work for me, lol. I decided to give this one a shot because I was looking for a relatively quick book (under 300 pages) that had a mafia or dark twist to it.
I'm not even sure how I came upon this one, but I'm glad I did. I don't normally like Insta-love either, but this one worked. It might be because Antonio falls first and that doesn't normally happen.
Antonio checks all the boxes for me: alpha male, dominant, possessive, and jealous. He doesn't expect himself to be as attracted to Angelica as he is. She has a mouth on her and a fight in her he seems to like.
Angelica comes onto the scene with a bang and it was great! She wasn't a pushover at all and while she had no idea how Antonio would treat her, she didn't watch her mouth.
I wish we would've had more details on the fight/war with the families towards the end. I felt like it ended rather abruptly, but I'm hoping we get more in the next book, Unexpected Love which features Butcher and Bianca. I'm not sure why this isn't listed as a series because these books are clearly linked. I also found Unexpected Devotion which is Carina and Gilly's book, who are also in this one.

Authors of book world, that write quick steamy reads, you need to take a note from this author! She delivers quantity, swoon Worthy alphas, laugh out loud moments and relatable female leads. It’s refreshing to be honest, I’m so over authors writing characters are in their 20 and 30’s that come across as eighteen year olds who have no brains.
Mink gives over the top five stars with no problems.
It’s a yes from me!

Antonio has been making a name for himself within the mafia families, he is a rising star and to secure his position he will marry one of the Larone mafia daughters. He doesn’t care which sister he marries, he just wants the connection. Angelica doesn’t want to get married, it will take her away from her beloved older sister, Bianca who she protects by being the loud bossy sister. Plus what kind of fiancé never even wants to meet his betrothed? One that’s going to be a bad husband, that’s who. At the alter Antonio is a shocked by Angelica, she is an Angel with a sailors mouth and he loves it. After their vows he sweeps her away, but trouble follows them, they are attacked in their limo, Antonio shoot a bunch of the attackers and gives his Angel a gun to protect herself while he gets the others. They find out it was her father who ordered the hit to get Antonio’s money. Needing to keep his Angel safe they go to his estate, Angelica tells him she will not submit to him and he tries to convince her that she will. Their chemistry is hot and soon she craves his kisses and more. Their sexy times are sweet spicy and plentiful. Worried about her sister she and her sister in law Carina Skype with Bianca while Antonio is meeting with her father about the attack. Butcher, Antonio’s enforcer sees Bianca and knows he can protect her, he leaves without telling anyone and takes Bianca to a safe house. This causes further problems when Angelica’s father demands Bianca back so she can marry a real bad guy from another crime family. Another attack, lots of guns, shooting, grenades, and dead henchmen. Bad guys are killed or run off. Epilogue with Angelica pregnant.
Very interested to read Carina and Gilly’s story. He is Antonio’s right hand man. Up next is Butcher and Bianca.

Antonio agreed to the arranged marriage with Angelica Larone knowing that an insult was there for not marrying the oldest daughter but the youngest. He figured it was an arranged marriage so it is what it is, until he saw her. She is stunning and feisty, Antonio knows his new wife is the woman who he will protect and love forever. The only problem is that the arranged marriage seems more of a plot to take him out, if Angelica is hurt seems not to matter. He is underestimated though and has every plan to extract his revenge while keeping his new bride safely by his side.
This was a lot of fun. I am definitely intrigued by some of the characters, Butcher specifically. Wish it had been a tad bit longer but overall entertaining and a full story.

Oh my gosh, Angelica is a firecracker, I loved her attitude! Antonio is caught by surprise, it takes him a minute to get his act together. Antonio has it all under control but he wasn't expecting to be bowled over by his little queen. Such a fun read, I didn't want it to end. This author always delivers, I drop everything when a new book comes out. I cannot recommend her enough, 6 stars for Antonio and Angelica!

"Unexpected Queen" had everything I love about a Mink book: an obsessed alpha hero, Antonio, who marries the fierce mafia princess, Angelica, in a marriage of convenience. Antonio starts out with no interest in love, but one look at Angelica standing up to him with her fiery spirit, and he’s completely captivated.
Angelica is the perfect mix of fierce and sweet, holding her own despite her mafia upbringing. I loved her backbone and smart mouth, and Antonio’s protective side was spot on—he’s definitely the "touch my girl and die" type, and he doesn’t disappoint! Their chemistry is electric from the start, with plenty of sweet moments, smoldering scenes, and a satisfying journey from convenience to true love.
The story also hints at future romances for the side characters, which I’m super excited about—especially Bianca and Butcher. No miscommunication, no cheating, and a virgin heroine who was absolutely adorable, even when she was trying to kill Antonio (yes, you read that right!).
