When an undercover assignment ends up literally under the covers…
As part of the Tri-State Federal Task Force, Daniel Finnegan, road captain for the Blue Avengers MC, is investigating the Deadly Demons, an MC trafficking drugs into Pennsylvania. When he reluctantly goes undercover as a dancer with an all-male revue at a club recently purchased by the outlaw bikers, he comes face to face with Melina Jensen.
As manager of The Peach Pit, Mel could be an important asset for the drug task force with her unfettered access behind the scenes. Unhappy with the way the Demons are destroying the business, it doesn’t take much for Finn to convince Mel to work with him as a confidential informant. Even though becoming a CI for the task force isn’t without risk, Mel’s willing to help in any way she can.
To give Finn better access to The Peach Pit and the illegal dealings without raising any red flags with the MC, they start to “date.” Only, what starts out as a fake relationship ends up being anything but. Until eventually, neither can no longer dance around the truth.
However, once Mel’s safety is threatened, it’s up to Finn to find a way to protect her without blowing the entire investigation.
Note: Beyond the Badge: Finn is the second book in the Blue Avengers MC series. It’s HIGHLY recommended to read this six-book action/adventure series in order due to the continuing story arcs (subplots). However, each book focuses on a different couple who gets their HEA. This series has no cheating or relationship cliffhangers.

This one was so much fun do to the setting of a strip club, even better was Finn being in an all male review. He sure got a lesson when he went under cover with that as his cover. I liked that he was intrigued by MJ from the start and was going after her even before he knew she was the manager of the strip club. I was also glad that he brought her in early on things, that he didn't have to lie to her for very long.
Once MJ was clued in on things, she did what she could to help and spent a lot of time with Finn. Their chemistry off the charts and it wasn't too long before they became more.
I liked how this one ended, liked that both MJ and Finn got their revenge on Saint, but better was building a business that stole all of his. The ending to this one was great, just the right way to end things for these 2.
I love this author and her previous mc books but I’m struggling slightly with this new series. Finn has a hair trigger that quite frankly irritates the crap out of me, given he’s undercover. Mj I loved until she acts stupidly that really doesn’t add to the story. They’ve a good story going and both likeable characters until they’re not. Good storyline but it’s just missing the edge I’ve come to expect from this author. Liked it but it’s lacking the polish of her mc reads.
Finn and the members of his MC believe that there is a lot more going on at The Peach Pit than meets the eye. The only way to discover the truth is for Finn to go undercover as a dancer but he never expected that his biggest challenge would be keeping Mel safe once he developed feelings for her.
Mel is fierce and feisty which not only makes her the perfect manager for The Peach Pit but the perfect woman for Finn as well. It may have begun with her pretending that she and Finn were together to avoid suspicion but as the danger escalates around them so does the chemistry between them.
This story has it all between the witty banter, hot chemistry and suspense that keeps you on edge as Finn and Mel take us on quite the adventure and find love along the way.
Well Jeanne sure does know how to catch our attention. Finn, redhead full of freckles has to go undercover as a male stripper to continue the investigation of the Demons and what they are up too. Finn catches the strip clubs managers eye MJ. She doesn't have great past and is weary but Finns charm and maybe him being a redhead has given him a chance. Jeanne has done a great job at intertwining a moving backstory while keeping the present character building of these two at focus. Will they stay friends or will it become more? Will he use MJ for his investigation or will love cross the line? Best of 2023!
I have been waiting for the next story in this series, as each book by Ms. St. James is something to wait for! Blue Avengers are fighting on the right side - now they have their eyes set on taking down Demons, and Finn is going undercover to do so! Going on a job like this I not unusual, but what he will have to do will be so hilarious and memorable - being on stage, still makes me smile lol. And then there is Mel that takes no sh*t and will d what she has to do, and then she starts fake dating with newly acquitted Finn, soon developing feelings in this relationship which was not expected! Both of them were not looking for love, but what if their minds/feelings have other plans - let the get of hidden feelings begin. Once again I have read a story from this author with almost no breaks and I do not hesitate to say that I can't wait for more!
I'll be honest, I gave the 1st book a 1* review. I hated so much about that setup. A friend told me to try book 2 and I'm really glad I did!
I loved the positive attitude the FMC had towards strip clubs and how this book turned the whole idea on its head by making the MMC take off his clothes (for once). It was so empowering to see how much of a badass she was and how protective he could be while still giving her autonomy. Sexy AF.
I did take off 1 star for the constant and overused jokes about the MMC being a fair-skinned ginger. I get that the author is trying to show the teasing between the guys but it really got to be annoying. I mean, when did it become okay to tease your friends about their skin colour? When she writes Rez's book are they all going to make racist Latino jokes? I hope not but it's the same vein of "humor" so I don't know.
I love that Finn is a ginger!!!! You don't have very many male leads, and the fact that he is going undercover as a male stripper and has the moves to back it up makes this book hot!!!!
The chemistry between Mel and Finn is smoking hot, and the dance scene between them is steamy!!! Also, the hazing that Finn's task force and MC brother give him is so funny. I love their relationship as brothers by bond; you can tell they have great respect for each other but aren't afraid to give each other hell. It has been a long time since I laughed so much during a book with a storyline that is about such a serious subject.
Jeanne St. James has done it again and written an MC book unlike any I've read before in Beyond the Badge: Finn, her 2nd book from her Blue Avengers MC series. This is the first MC series I've read where the brothers are not outlaws but legit police officers who don't break the rules. This book picks up where the 1st book leaves off just with another couple as the main focus. Finn is the Road Captain of the Blue Avengers MC and an officer on a joint task force formed to take down the Deadly Demons MC. The task force knows they are dealing drugs but has to catch them and gather evidence. So when they start buying up businesses that would be good for cleaning money they know they need to take action. Finn is sent in undercover at The Peach Pit, a strip club the Deadly Demons MC just bought as a male stripper with an all-male dance troop. When he sees MJ or Mel, the manager of the club he knows his undercover assignment can't just be for 2 nights. So he comes up with the idea of having a fake relationship with her. Mel is a strong determined woman who doesn't take crap off of anyone. Not even a biker with a gun. Mel has worked at the club for 10 years starting as a stripper and later becoming the manager with the hopes of opening her own club or buying The Peach Pit. After the Demons bought the club she wanted to leave but wasn't going to leave her dancers behind to deal with them on their own so she stayed. Does Finn get the evidence he needs to take the Demons down? Do Mel and Finn get real feelings for each other? I gave this book a 4-star rating because it made me laugh and I loved seeing a guy as the stripper because just about all the MC books I read are about female strippers and it can get old. And it got a 3 spicy rating. The scenes were steamy and hot but I prefer a little more. This book is good for anyone who wants to read to get a laugh. Most are provided by Finn's club brothers and their hazing of each other. And their hatred of the Baltimore Ravens football team. It's really one to enjoy and I can't wait for the next one to come out. Decker's up next!
Beyond the Badge: Finn Blue Avengers MC, Book 2 By: Jeanne St. James Narrated by: Ava Lucas, Dane Anderson
As the Deadly Demons MC begin to add cash businesses to their club, the joint task force begins their next phase of taking the Demons drug ring down. The latest acquisition, the Peach Pit is a stripper club and Finn goes undercover to find out if their is money laundering and drug sales going on. Mel has managed the club for years. Looking forward to taking it over, the Demons came through, taking that opportunity away from her and leaving her with the day to day, no questions asked workload. Gorgeous, smart and tired of the new regime, she is more than fed up with the situation. When Finn starts hanging around, it doesn't take long to know she may be the key to helping the task force. As her new fake boyfriend, the two begin their quest, but find that the pretend may be more than they realized! Danger, twists and turns and passion igniting, Jeanne St James once again had my earbuds glued in for a nonstop listen! It's edgy and exciting with a strong woman at the helm! Mel is a fantastic character, with guts and bravery that is second to none. I love that she is beautiful and graceful in one scene and taking down a Demon in the next! Finn's opening scene on the stage set the book for me. Hot, sensual and ready to rumble! Plus there is some ribbing for the Blue Avengers when it comes to the new couple! Love the bits of humor and camaraderie. It's building up and I cannot wait to see where St James's mind takes us next! This is going to be a great series!
Ava Lucas and Dane Anderson tell the story and boy, do they tell it! Lucas is a master at climbing in the mind of her characters. Mel is tough and it comes through as she takes on her boss and the Demons. Then she comes in dancing on a pole with sensuality that is mind numbing! Fantastic! Dane Anderson is perfectly cast as Finn. He has sex appeal when it comes to the women, but his loyalty and protectiveness is steadfast, all through nuances of his voice. This combination is exactly what I could picture in my mind and they made the hours fly by.
Ok after reading all the other MC books I guess I expected this to be somewhat the same. However even though there is a Task Force put together and the sole purpose is to take down the Demons from expanding and bringing drugs into the different territories the focus is mainly on the guys meeting their forever's. I liked Finn's book and I love the banter between the guys. I love Finn and Mel together (she's one feisty woman) loved how they met, loved that Finn was assigned to the Peach Pit as a male dancer (that was awesome) and I loved how their relationship grew. But I think we needed more on the Demons and the Task Force and where they're at in the investigation. It's like you think the backstory is the Task Force when it's really not. Also how the Russo's are involved and who are the Task Force really trying to take down. I'm hoping we get more info on the progress and not just little blurbs. Lots of sex going on in the first Blue Avengers books so far. Not a bad thing buuuuuttttttt need some substance where the investigation is concerned. Okay on to Decker's book. I can't even imagine who he'll hook up with since he's going undercover with the Demons.
The start of Finn & Mel’s book had me laughing so hard. Going undercover isn’t unusual for members of the forces, but Finn’s assignment was not only a bit out there but so incredible to read for a lot of different reasons. Mel and Finn are great individual characters, but these two together are amazing. Mel in particular is one kick a$$ heroine. I adored reading her every time she was in a scene. Towards the end I thought Finn explained her perfectly. She didn’t need Finn or any man to make her the woman she is or even wanted to be, she was strong enough that she would achieve anything all by herself. I love reading characters like her. Finn in all his quirky dorkiness was absolutely perfect for her, her complemented her beautifully in every way, and I loved reading him every bit as much as Mel. After reading the first book and now this one, it has become apparent that the storyline about the Demons probably won’t be concluded until the last book. To me this is really clever by Jeanne. Not only does it keep me invested but it just makes the whole series realistic. The next book looks like it’s going to be right in the thick of things and I cannot wait to read it.
Oh my gosh, I am loving this series! Fletch and Nova gave us such a amazing start to this equally amazing series and Finn just picked up right where they left off. This book had me laughing out loud so many times…those guys are brutal in their teasing. Finn is put in a position that I’m fairly certain most men wouldn’t want to be in. I would say he accepts the challenging position with dignity but I’d be lying. The scene leading up to his first “performance” is priceless…poor guy! He’s such a good guy though…funny, protective and loyal…really like his character. Mel is definitely a keeper too. She’s strong, protective and loyal too…they’re great together. Can’t wait for the next book, Decker should be a terrific read. I was intrigued with another character in the first book and I’m even more interested after reading Finn. I’m ready for Nox’s story. He has definitely caught my attention and I can’t wait to discover his story. Great job, once again, Ms. St. James…Finn was fantastic!
OMG! I freaking loved Finn. When Finn had to go undercover to bring down the Demons, he was not expecting what his prez was going to ask of him, to join an all male revue to get deep inside The Peach Pit. This is not something he is wanting to do, but for his brothers he will. The work up to his first time on stage was priceless. Finn’s inner monologue and his interaction with Abby, Nick’s assistant had me laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. This is a serious situation that Finn’s in, he needs to get the deets on what is going to be transpiring and put an end to it if at all possible. I loved Mel, she’s a good match for Finn, she’s strong willed, loyal to a fault and can’t help being attracted to Finn. Being in a fake relationship with Mel, just may be the hardest thing Finn has ever had to do, because feelings weren’t supposed to be part of it and now they are. Such a great read, I can’t wait for the next book, but I’m really interested in Nox’s story, he’s got a lot to say.
Finn is a member of the Blue Avengers MC and he is asked to go undercover at a club that was recently bought by an outlaw MC. Mel is the manger of the club and she is not happy with the new owners. She decides to help Finn bring down this MC so that the club can go back to the way it was. They decided to pretend to be in a relationship to help see what the owners are up to. Finn and Mel grow close and start to care for one another which only makes things more complicated. Nothing seems to go as planned and they run into several obstacles that are very dangerous.
The excitement and suspense was everywhere in this story. There were parts of the story that had me laughing out loud; poor Finn with the situations he found himself in. Finn and Mel were both strong characters and it was interesting to see how they solved their problems and was able to handle everything that was thrown at them. This is another great series and I can't wait to see what happens next. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed; all opinions expressed are my own.
I knew from book 1 that I would love Finn. He's very sure of himself in his work and in his sense of humor. But this book puts him in undercover work that he wishes was more over the covers than what he is. Posing as a male stripper to gain access to a female strip club, Finn finds himself more wrapped up in all the goings on at the club than he anticipated. MJ is fantastic! I loved her ability to handle anything and anyone. Her kick butt attitude might get her more than she bargained for though. This book is everything I expect from Jeanne St James. The red hot scenes are so much more and I couldn't pull myself away from my kindle. The ongoing investigation brings in new characters that I love to hate. The brotherhood brings me so much joy in the banter the guys have between them. Finn may be my newest favorite of Ms St James. And MJ(Mel) is definitely at the top of my list.
Jeanne St James is one of absolute favorite authors but this book….THIS book is everything. Finn has not only bumped and ground his way into my top 5 Jeanne Heroes….Mel has joined him in the top 5 list for heroines. You are going to fall head over heels for both of them.
You are going to laugh your way through the first few chapters with the antics of the task force. Laugh out loud funny! When we follow Finn along for his first night as a Pecker it’s even more laugh out loud fun! I cannot wait for all their stories and I might be developing a little crush on Crew.
The action and adventure that follow are amazing!!!! Fantastic plot, fast paced adventure. I kept trying to slow down my reading so I could make the story last but Jeanne’s writing is just so good, you get swept up in it all. I cannot get over how phenomenal this book is. I wish I could leave 100 stars.
Beyond the Badge: Finn ( Blue Avengers MC Book 2) by Jeanne St. James .... What a ride indeed!!!!
Once again Jeanne St. James has given us an exciting book full of steamy scenes, funny scenes and thrilling scenes!!! Her stories make you want them to never end!!!
The characters in this book are perfect. While I admit that in the last book and the beginning of this book, Finn could be annoying to me and probably just his jabs and self centeredness, by the end I was loving him too!! Then there is Mel, the main female character, and she is someone I'd want to be my BFF. She cares for her friends and she is one bad ass lady!!!
This book had it all. Lots of fun amidst the danger and sexy times. Extra bonus points for the book being centered around my hometown....even if it was because of those dirty Dirty Demons MC. You can't get much better than a Jeanne St. James MC book in my humble opinion!
Going undercover is something Finn is used to doing - however - this role is something he may never forget. Becoming a male revue stripper in order to bring down the Demons who have taken over the club in order to increase their drug sales, leads Finn down to his jock strap but also with a spark for the club's manager Mel. Becoming Mel's fake boyfriend is supposed to give Finn an inside on the wrong doings, but when feeling come into play and the relationship is so much more than fake the two need to figure out what is best for the undercover op. Can you fall in love while working a case? Or will the sparks ignite so much more than love? With wonderful characters and a storyline that had me hooked from the opening beats of the music in the club this was a fabulous read. Hot chemistry, hot dancing and overall an intense book. I cannot wait for more in this series.
Finn and Mel's story was quite a rush! Thick tension, juicy drama, thrilling action, intense emotions, sultry chemistry, laughter inducing humor, and a sharp edge of danger are all wrapped up with an enticing "Fake Relationship" bow to create a simply irresistible book that grabs you and does not let go. I adored Mel and Finn and felt they were absolutely perfect for each other. If you love reads that are as much about The Feels, as they are as about the excitement, you definitely want to read this series. As there is an overarching storyline playing out over the series, I highly recommend you start at book 1 and continue reading the books in order. I feel that this will greatly increase your reading pleasure by let you become more fully immersed in this world. I'm electing to post an objective review.
We wait impatiently for St.James' releases, knowing we will have a good read in our hands. And Finn was no exception. He was invited to be on the Tri-State Drug Task Force. Daniel Finnegan is a good-looking, body-building, red-headed cop, who was reared by his mother, a dance teacher with her own studio. When the Deadly Demons MC are found to be moving drugs from Mexico into Southwest Pennsylvania and have bought the Peach Pit strip joint, the Chief Officer of the PA part of the Task Force sees a very profitable use for Finn that keeps readers on the edge of their seats while Finn suffered! And then loves reading the rest of the book while Finn enjoyed the unexpected rewards of his efforts! And the Epilogue was Perfect sung by Ed Sheeran and lipped-synced by Finn. You'll have to read the book to appreciate just how Perfect it was!
So entertaining, funny and at the same time intense. Finn jokes around, nothing serious in his life except his job. He has a series of brief hookups in his past but that is it. Never had any reason to even think of settling down. The task force's case is heating up and the Deadly Demons have acquired a strip club that they are probably dealing drugs out of and laundering the money. So the powers that be think that an exotic male review asking to use the club for a couple of nights would allow one of the guys to get into the club and poke around. Finn is horrified when he is the lucky man picked. Finn is a great male lead and his woman is so strong, intelligent, and practically fearless. I just about hurt myself laughing, this was so hilarious, at first. Then things start getting serious, fast. This story consumed me, I absolutely loved it. I'm so excited to see what happens next!
The amount of nicknames for the ginger/red-headed Finn had me laughing. Jeanne St. James possibly found all of the nicknames that could have been used by her characters to tease Finn. Beyond the Badge: Finn continues the story of the Federal Task Force trying to take down the Deadly Demons drug trafficking throughout PA and OH. Finn has his chance to shine in more than one way. He goes undercover first as a male dancer then as a fake boyfriend to the manager of the Peach Pit, Melina “Mel” or “MJ” Jensen, the club recently bought by the Deadly Demons MC. The story goes deeper into the the ongoings of the drug trafficking while Mel and Finn slowly turn their fake relationship into a real one. The writing is amazing and you get pulled in to see how everything will slowly play out.
Definitely a step up from the first book, but still lacking in the action department. Not sure if it’s because it’s a police MC that the action is lacking or the fact these books are clearly strung together to pull the story through the life of their task force.
I enjoyed the stripper and glue and really liked Mel as a heroine. I liked how the author didn’t make the strippers or the club seedy but a viable occupation. Because it is.
Finn was just a sweetheart and I liked him for Mel. He was sweet and loving and I loved how he was in the male revue putting them all on the same level. Not beneath him.
I would like to have seen more angst in the club but like the first book, this sub story to the main task force outcome was a plot line interwoven with others that are going to to bring the Demons down.
GREAT STORY, WONDERFUL COUPLE! I loved this new couple from JSJ. They were so wonderful together, very HOT! This story was exciting and everything kept moving along at a great pace. Finn and Mel were just sooooo perfect for each other, I absolutely LOVE them. I have to say, Mel is a bad*ss, she was so brave and took NO s**t from anyone! JSJ, you write so many heroines that I want for a BFF! I have to say, the descriptions of Finn's dance was beyond HOT!!!! WOW! I need to see that--I'd definitely pay money for that show! I loved getting to know some of the team better too and I cant wait for everyone's books (patience is NOT my personal virtue. LOL) Overall, wonderful addition to the series and definitely makes you want more from the task force. LOVED IT!!!
Really loving the BAMC guys, love how all the books about the MC’s link up and cameo characters we’ve previously met. Although I really love the DAMC, the Blue Angels are winning me over. Fletch’s story was awesome and we still see him here. Finn as a stripper is a hilarious story, the descriptions of what he had to do had me in tears, so funny. Mel is an amazing woman, hardworking and underestimated, she’s perfect for Finn and the ideal partner to help him with the task force’s operations against the Deadly Demons MC.. Love the passion between Finn and Mel, some seriously hot scenes in this book. Looking forward to reading about the next part of the operation involving Decker.
Great new story in the Beyond the Badge series! All stories can be read alone, I recommend reading in order for maximum enjoyment.
The Bluw Avengers MC are a group of law enforcement officers with a passion for their community and motorcycles! Recently they've begun on interagency task force to take down some truly seedy characters and they're pretty sure the Peach Pit is more than meets the eye. Finn goes undercover as a make dancer at the club where he meets the fiesty Melina. Her take no prisoners swagger means she's Finn's perfect woman but danger is lurking behind every corner..
Great read! Love the behind the scenes sense we get of the ops and the characters are top-notch. Fast-paced and sizzling!

I’ve loved all of Jeanne St.James MC books. This series I have been waiting on. I enjoyed both book in the series so far but I’m having a hard time loving them.
I really enjoyed MJ. She is a tough, smart, women who doesn’t take crap from anyone, especially not the Demons MC. She does not back down. So when Finn and the task force ask for her help, she will do anything she can to bring the MC down and claim was should be hers.
I found this story started out slow but when it finally started to really get interesting it had my interest until the end.
I would recommend this book even if it’s not my fav. I’m hoping as the series unfolds I’ll find my fav BAMC member.
