If you are familiar with the Bible you will quickly recognize this reading as stemming from the Book of Genesis. People are portrayed throughout the Old Testament as turning away from God repeatedly in hard times incurring God's wrath and His compassion. The New Testament brings us to a new life opportunity through the sacrifice of Jesus yet many ignore this gift of love and compassion arrogantly denying any need of God. Too many humans still are not listening! God teaches us to love one another as He loves us. Because there is so much repetition in the story it requires concentration in reading.
I loved this book. The characters in this book do not have names, but are Young Man, Old Man, Younger Man, etc. This book is about faith in God and about the Joy that comes from it. There is much wisdom in this book, and many will not understand it because faith is different for each person, we see it through our own prism and act on it in our own ways. I read this over several days even though the book is but a few pages, but it is very deep. You may find yourself reading passages over and over again.
