I have read countless books on psychology and personalities, but I can say without any competition that this is the one that changed my life and improved my personal relationships in a way that cannot be matched by any other book. It gave me a deep insight into my own personality type and absolutely put things into perspective. Not only is this a must-read for all who work with people professionally, it's an important book for everyone who wishes to understand themselves in a deeper and more compassionate way. For me, the book's greatest takeaway is its ability to provide insight into the thinking, behavioral & emotional patterns for each personality type, offering practical and hands-on strategies for better communication with those we love most. This is by far the most impactful book I've read this year!

I have enjoyed this book, and find it very helpful in understanding the personality adaptations of some of my more difficult to understand clients. The system is simple and clear, but there is a lot of detail to learn. The authors present in information in layers, moving from the most simple layer to more and more complex presentations of the various personality profiles. I would recommend this book to any counsellor or psychotherapist who values having a rich toolbox to fall back on.

PS (23rd September 2018): I dip into this book a few times per month, to help to get a better understanding of what might be going on in the psychological wiring of a problematic counselling client! It's a great help! :-)

Fantastic book! But olso i want o say that Port Credit Counselling https://portcreditcounselling.ca deserves applause for curating such a safe haven in Mississauga. Through their psychotherapy services, I've experienced a transformative journey towards self-awareness and emotional well-being.

Not only does this book provide a detailed overview of six personality adaptations; enthusiastic-overreactor (histrionic), responsible-workaholic (obsessive-compulsive), brilliant-skeptic (paranoid), creative-daydreamer (schizoid), playful-resister (passive-aggressive), charming-manipulator (antisocial) and combinations of adaptations it is practical in terms of diagnosis and treatment. As a complete novice to the field of psychotherapy and counselling, this book was an easy and enthralling read.

First half of the book is understandable without psychology background and knowledge of terms in psychology. A very interesting idea how human beings are classified into 6 different types from 2 groups, of course with some mix and matches between the types! In the first few section it is very easy to characterise individual by picking atleast one from each 6 and permutation and combination of this with other group produces a character that is bang on!!!
