Stepbully #2

Inevitable

Rate this book
My stepbrother Cole and his best friend Xander have tormented and teased me for years, but last summer things changed between us.

I should have known better than to let myself fall in love with Cole; to let him take advantage of me, to be vulnerable to him.

Now that we're all back home for another summer, I've promised myself I won't let him get to me. Him or Xander. But it turns out that this is the summer that changes everything -- our family, my future, and the three of us.

The truth is, we were all set on this path long ago. What happens between Cole and Xander and I has always been inevitable.

♥ Inevitable is an MMF menage romance. It is the sequel to Stepbully, but can be read as a stand-alone. ♥

This is a sequel to StepBully, which was the first book I read by Astra, she's amazing 💕, and if you haven't read it yet, then you should, cuz it one was fantastic 💟. With step siblings, and (brother's) bestfriend trope, it was full of angst, until they decided to give in. By end the end of it, Cole and Xander leave for college, leaving Hailey hopeful for their future.
Starting Inevitable, Hailey is anxious now that Cole and Xander are back for the summer, she feels betrayed and is heartbroken because Cole broke up with her without an explanation. But with a sudden rupture in their family, they need each other now more than ever.

It felt nice to delve back into Hailey’s love life, and meet Cole and Xander again. StepBully left me longing for more Xander, and Astra made sure we get plenty this time around. Hailey was stronger and more vocal about her needs, Cole finally acknowledged his feelings towards his bestfriend, and it was fun to dive into Xander's mind, feel how he felt about his two loves. And when these three are together, phew 🥵. Sasha and Gustavo were such good friends 🙌🏽. I loved this book, and thank you so much for the Arc, Astra 😘, I know you said I didn't need to post a review, but I couldn't not. It was hot, spicy, and full of Inevitable love 💓.
PS. I would definitely listen to Sasha and Hailey’s podcast ✨

Inevitable is the sequel to Step Bully. It is a why choose, forbidden romance.
When we meet the trio again, Hailey is heartbroken after Cole sent a nasty text, ending their relationship. Cole is torn between loving who he wants and doing what is expected of him. Xander is coming to terms with his feelings for both Hailey and Cole. And chaos has erupted within their family, changing everything.
This story is from all 3 POVs, giving a better understanding of what makes Cole, Xander and Hailey tick. The characters are complicated and their issues relatable, making me root for their HEA. It’s about love and self-acceptance. There were quite a few surprises along the way that made me devour this book in one sitting.
Inevitable has very spicy, smutty scenes that are exciting and I was so glad that it ended with Cole, Xander and Hailey all getting the HEA they deserve! Such a great why choose romance!

This book was hot to read. I understood why he acted out and he treated her like that but I think he should have stay away if he didn’t want to be with her. But I’m glad they all got along and had love in their hearts at the end of the book.

I love, love this author's steamy scenes - they are always so hot! And I loved that these characters moved into MM/MMF territory in this second installment. But I was as invested in the story outside of the steam; that part very underdeveloped and I never felt the emotional connection between Hailey and each guy.

DNF because I just stopped caring. After what I saw in the first book, it made no sense to me that Cole, a total Bad Boy edgelord in the first book, would care what his father thinks about what he's doing, or that he'd do anything to please him.

Inevitable by Astra Rose is a MMF menage romance. This is the sequel to Stepbully but can be read as a stand-alone.

I love Astra's books! I was so excited when this book was announced, and Astra did not disappoint. I loved the relationship between Hailey, Cole, and Xander. It was messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I loved that we get all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I would recommend this book if you like MMF romances, taboo romances, forbidden romances, or erotic romances.

Astra Rose delivers another scorching, taboo masterpiece with Inevitable!
This book is utterly addictive, packed with super steamy scenes that push all the right boundaries.

I loved getting to know Xander’s character better; his presence in the relationship was a perfect addition, making the ménage à trois dynamic even more compelling.
Cole, while still his frustrating self, showed some much-needed emotional growth, and Hailey finally starts standing up for herself (at least a little). And Xander? Absolute perfection.

The spice level in Inevitable is off the charts; Astra Rose knows exactly how to deliver scenes that are as intense as they are well-written.
Every moment is dripping with tension, passion, and just the right amount of filth, making it impossible to put the book down.

The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the scenes with all three are particularly unforgettable; balancing heat with genuine emotion.
Rose’s ability to craft such steamy, immersive scenes is truly impressive.

While the focus was on the intense romance between the three, I couldn’t help but wish for a glimpse into Hailey and Sasha’s future; maybe a flash forward or a hint of what’s to come?
Unless, of course, there’s a third book in the works…?

Either way, Inevitable is an unputdownable read that fans of extra spicy taboo romance won’t want to miss!

MM and didn’t mesh well

I’m not anti- MM but I really didn’t like this - it seems like so many authors are forcing ménage’s to have MM now and that’s how this one felt

First off, I’m pretty sure Astra Rose is a mind reader. I say this because as soon as I read Step Bully I wanted more from this, and definitely more Xander (yes, he’s my favorite, and this book just brought him more up the scale).. okay back to what I was saying, I was literally thinking about it again the same day she posted this book was going to be released. Yes, she’s a mind reader. 🤣

Okay, time for a short vague review.

Cole, Hailey, and Xander are the throuple we need in our lives. If you haven’t read Step Bully yet, you really need to! It’s a stepbrother/stepsister trope, with a side of Xander (lol). Step Bully left us hanging with the three of them going separate ways to college. Cole comes to the decision to end things with Hailey with no real explanation. They all come back home from college and learn news about their parents. And that is where it all begins.. again! Xander & Hailey, Xander & Cole, Hailey & Cole.. Hell, we’ll throw in a threesome (those scenes! 🥵) And because I’m evil this is where I’m leaving you all hanging. Seriously though, you really need to read the book.

I loved every second of this book, and girl, I need more! 😉 I’ll probably keep saying this til the end of time. Thank you so much for diving back into this world, and for the opportunity to read the arc! 🤍😘

This was a fast paced, steamy, taboo read but i really enjoyed it. Although a short story, the characters were actually pretty well rounded. The spice was spicy, the side characters were funny, and it overall flowed well.

A few minor things I wished could have been fleshed out more.
*I wish we got a bit more in terms of why Cole is as messed up emotionally as he is. Its touched on that his father is strict/old fashioned, but it also didn't seem like any talks of the past really went into it. I wanted to understand the angst.
*Although I LOVED the podcast concept, I had a hard time with it too. They talk all about the what's happening between Hailey, Cole and Xander but change Cole/Xander so they can remain anonymous. Yet, they clearly state its her stepbrother and his best friend, and they also mentioned advertising on their OWN social media profiles. So how were they anonymous? How did noone know right away?
*It ended so suddenly that it left so many things wide open. Did Greta actually pull all of her money? What happened when the papperazzi inevitably discovered the relationship? Did they have to get jobs? Did Hailey end up living with Cole/Xan or Sasha like she already planned? They mentioned that they skipped a podcast week and ratings dropped. Did it get better? Is Sasha still mad at her too? Even a 5 page epilogue would have been better than how it ended.

Wow, talk about family drama. A lot of that going on in this book on top of the relationship angst and building.

I loved the progression of Cole, Xander, and Hailey's relationship. The one-on-one MF and MM as well as the MMF when they're all together. It was everything I wanted and wow, Cole and Xander together, jeez hotttt.

Despite having the smallest of roles as a side character, I really liked Ariel Malek. She's the most popular girl in school (previously graduated) and goes to college with Cole and Xander, but even though Cole was using her to make Hailey jealous, I liked that she didn't have a bully or mean-streak type of side-character in this book. Also her stepping up to help them in the end (even though it's super super super minor and she doesn't appear at all but we hear of her help), she pretty much shot up my list of #1 side character. A very positive and joy to read such a "good" character in this series with bullying and drama.

There's no cliffhanger but it left off at a tentative HFN and I'm so excited for whenever book 3 gets done.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the author.

What a deliciously sexy MMF story this was. I was instantly captivated with Hailey, Cole and Xander. Their whirlwind, drama and angst filled, love story had me riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of what delicious antics they were going to get up to next, and squirming on my seat from the explosive panty melting moments between them.

Every time Cole and Xander were together in the dark, whispering to each other, I think my lady parts were going to explode. These two were so freaking HOT and their dirty filthy talk had me wriggling with utter desire and lust. I think I just completely melted over these two and then when you add sassy Hailey to the mix – WOW – time to whip out B.O.B. as there was no way I was going to make to the end without easing some of the ache these three were giving my lady parts!!!

I loved this delicious story. It was filled with emotions, angst, drama, twists and turns throughout and some highly erotic moments that I could not get enough of.

Hot n’ Spicy! Just the way I like it. ❤️‍🔥

This was my first read by this author. Forbidden, taboo, MMF … I mean what else do you need to know?! Ms Rose has some spicy scenes! 😮‍💨 While Cole was a bit more mature in this one (you gotta read Step Bully first), he still had his childish moments that gave me flashbacks to 5th grade boys 😅 BUT he did show growth and let’s face it, when he is in alpha-mode, he is hottttt! And then there is my boy Xander. Gah, I love him so much! 😍

Synopsis: Hailey and Cole are step-siblings. They knew each other before their parents met and they both have held crushes for a long time. Cole resorts to bullying Hailey but eventually lust and want win and they start a secret relationship… until Cole and Xander (his best friend) go off to college. COLE SENDS A BREAK UP TEXT! A TEXT PEOPLE!

If you need a steamy read, and you’re into bully romance it’s a good one to read!

It took so much for them to finally be happy
This book actually explains more why he treated her the way he did. Why he stopped being her friend.
He loved her and they were best friends. He wanted to marry her. Then all of a sudden their parents are married and the girl he loves is now his stepsister, it made him feel like his love for her was wrong, perverted. So he pushed her away to save her from him. But honestly, That should've gave them more time to be freaky lol and make them closer. but then this wouldn't be a bully romance lol
They probably wouldn't have Xan either if that was the case. So It worked how it was supposed to.

I love taboo reads and this was amazing as always. I love this authors work. Loved the story and the smut. There was no epilogue though so in my imagination her ass got pregnant real quick and they happy of course ;)

Okay whew! Well, now, if you're looking for a book for pure filth, this would be your book to run to. I thought this was a standalone, so I jumped into Book Two. Silly me! Now I am going to read book one cause I AM ME!!!!

All of them have complicated relationships. Stepbrother and stepsister, the best friend, pining for each other. I really love the Dynamic between Cole and Xan it is just super HOT and super sweet. I adored them more in this book, but over all it's really HOT and quick to read. If you're in a slump and you're looking for something Taboo and forbidden.

The ending seems open ended so I don't know if there's going to be 3rd book, but we shall see.

So, book 1 and book 2 are very different. I did not care for book one mainly because of the way Cole treated Hailey. He was too cruel with no sign of remorse or redemption. This book is a whole other story. Things I didn't see coming, and maybe should have, blindsided me a bit. The entire podcast/Sasha friendship part was stupid. It was like Cole was uncomfortable with the entire Xander, Hailey "situation", and tried to figure out how maybe he could move forward with the relationships he was having, while Hailey was blasting it to anyone that would listen AND eventually, for a price. THEN, as if that wasn't enough, Barry. WTF?!? You bring a stranger into your wife's house and start making demands on everyone like it's yours. It was all too stupid. A FN cliffhanger?? It isn't even over yet. There's got to be a book 3

I really loved this book. I also wanted to give it 5 stars but I feel like there could have been more to. Everything happened a little too fast. I think hails forgave and forgot a little too quickly, got too comfortable with Xander to fast and was really quick to share on her podcast. However, they all do have a past going back to childhood so it wasn’t entirely unthinkable.

I don’t know how she does it but Astra has a knack for really capturing short moments but making you feel big feelings. I loved the underlying tones of love, understanding and acceptance throughout the book.

Love who you want to fucking love and everyone that doesn’t like it can fuck right off! Lol

Let’s not forget the spice right. There is a lot and it is HOT. No spoilers on that. Just read the book.

I’m sure in reality, a situation like would surely be intense. Xander, Cole and Cole’s stepsister, Hailey found that that through all mishaps, wanted a life where they could be together.

Coles attitude made it hard to be fond of him, as a character, for most of the book. But in the end, I’m glad he was able to let that go to be happy with Hailey and Xander. I didn’t really see that chemistry between Cole and Hailey though and maybe slightly with Cole and Xander.

The writing of this was smooth, but some of it made for a struggle to keep me hooked because of what I felt had lacked more interaction, and could have had less drama. This is not to say it was bad whatsoever, but the freak flag needs to fly and get smutty and spicy as Hailey’s podcast claimed 😊

This story starts nine months after the end of Stepbully but you don't need to read it to enjoy this one.

Even though their last summer together ended happily, things have changed in that time.
Now Hailey, Cole and Xander are back home for another summer and this one is going to change everything.

I loved the underlying topic of acceptance in this story.
All the characters had a lot to work through but Cole had the hardest time trying to understand the feelings he was dealing with.

The progression of the relationship between all the main characters was great but I especially loved the one-on-one scenes.

The smut in this book is so good it had me sweating! 🥵🔥
The MM scene... unbelievably HOT!

It does end with a happily-for-now so I'm eagerly awaiting book three and hoping they get their HEA ❤️

The Queen of forbidden and taboo Astra Rose has struck again!!

The continuation of Step Bully was one for the books!!

Step siblings Hailey and Cole broke up last year when he texted her it was over. But they are family, and after their first year at college they are home for the summer.

Cole’s best friend Xander is living at his house for the summer. So Hailey, Cole and Xander will be together for months. So many things can happen.

I love how Hailey and Xander know who Cole is deep down. Yes he’s an asshole but they understand why he is. I really loved Xander in this story. He was more levelheaded than just being Cole’s follower. To see all of their relationships with each other grow was great and I wanted more!!

HOT, HOT, HOT MMF Taboo Read!!!!

Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you start with Book 1 - Stepbully. That is where you are introduced to Cole, Xander and Hailey. That book was intense and hot!

Inevitable picks up about 9 months after Stepbully ends and the angst and the feels are there immediately! Xander’s role is more prominent in this book and the sexual tension between this throuple is off the charts! Some don’t love Cole, but my heart aches for him! I really couldn’t put this book down and I really, really hope there is a book 3 for this world. Please, please, please Astra Rose, we need more of this throuple!!!!

This is the continuation of Stepbully, we start the book with the trio being back in the same house after a separation, Hailey is supposedly heartbroken and angry at Cole, but yet she falls back into him without much of an apology and very fast. Cole, Hailey and Xander get hot and heavy for most of the book, Cole has some reservations and has a lot of back and forth, in the end everything gets resolved pretty quickly. Just like last book, it focused more on the physical than anything else, I was expecting a little more plot here but no, it's just smut.

I was looking for a smutty, fast read, and this book delivered on that, a great palate cleanser for in between books.

I liked this more than the first (step bully). There was more character development in this book.
My takeaway on Cole.. I think losing his mom at a young age is part of why he kept Hailey and Xander at arms length. His dad is a straight up ass, so he thought he was wrong to love his step sister and best friend.

I honestly thought Greta and Barry were splitting because of something she did... since her PR manager and assistant were at the table during the divorce announcement.

Xander is freaking adorable...

I'm hoping that maybe there will be a 3rd book.. even if it's like 5 years later and we get a quick rundown of what happened after they all left home.

Great book. But the ending….

Loved the characters and the story. But what the heck was that ending? It’s like the book just stopped. No epilogue, nothing to wrap things up. How do they make out with school, does Hailey move in with her BFF or do they manage to get an apartment before school? Does Hailey get her scholarship or does her podcast take off? Did she patch things up with her mom? How do they end up navigating life as a threesome? Is there and public blow back? I HAVE QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED!!! For this reason I only gave 3 stars. It was 5 until that abrupt ending. Sad panda.
