What’s Tan to do when an experiment goes wrong? Nothing. He’s unconscious and captured.
What’s Devan to do when his lover shows up in the palace prison? Keep calm and smuggle on.
Tan would say don’t put him into a box, but he actually does fit. Devan despairs.

AJ Sherwood believes in happily ever afters, magic, dragons, good men, and dark chocolate. She often dreams at night of delectable men doing sexy things with each other. In between writing multiple books (often at the same time) she pets her cats, plays with her dogs, and attempts insane things like aerial yoga.
She currently resides in Tennessee with aforementioned cats, dogs, and her editor/best friend/sister/partner in crime.
How is so much packed into these novellas?! Minotaurs, kidnapping, daring rescues, all the black sorcerer siblings united to fend off invasion, and a surprise twist! I love it.
With a little help from some friends Devan has to help Tan escape from the palace prison. The princess is as evil as ever and the sidecaracters are hillarious. Finally something more than cuddling and I can't wait for the final in this series. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Now it's time for Devan to save Tan for once. And the two are absolutely wonderful like before.
Never once had he come this hard, where darkness ate at the corner of his vision, where it felt like his spine was bending under the force of it. 😳😳😳
This part is shorter than all the others before, and for the ending, well I didn't see that coming. Nicely done. But honestly such a cliffhanger was really not necessary 😡😡😡I hope Tan will come up with something very creative for this.
For this adventure, our heroes don't really have to go anywhere. Tan is determined to fix his past mistakes (The Void), but something goes wrong. He's magically depleted, left unconscious, found by other adventurers, and portalled to the dungeon of Goodwine. It's up to Devan to get him out and he has an ingenous plan to do so. I loved this issue!
Full of more shenanigans, this book showed us how close Devan and Tan had grown, not that it was ever in doubt. Devan is even more pressed to find a solution to having his cake and eating it too. He wants to spend his life with Tan, but he can't abandon his people to the whims of a mad woman. How are they going to make this work?
Well, this author hasn't disappointed me yet with this story, so book 6 is already loaded up!
Nooooo! Cliffhanger ending. That could've been bad if Devan hadn't grown up a smuggler. I liked how quickly they got Tan to safety. I'm shipping Wells and Fa, I need to see those two get together. I'm liking the black knight and Devan snapping. Kinda wished he'd do that to the princess. I'm looking forward to Tan's reaction on princess bitch trying to steal his man.

When I started book 5 I didn't realize that book 6 wasn't out yet!! So now I'm dying a little bit on the inside waiting for it to come out! Thankfully I don't have to wait too long since it will be out in just a few days.
This series is so much fun -- silly, cracky, hilarious, charming fun!
It's a super enjoyable light read!
I love Tan so much!
The transitions between the books in the series are really well done. Although I wouldn't consider them standalone books, each one transitions and works well as it's own episode, and the overall story is wonderful.
4.5 stars. Audiobook. Fun and satisfying. Rated as a whole, series of novellas that I read all bundled together. Seamless transition from one installment to another. Big bad quirky wizard and palace knight go on adventures, great us-against-the-world vibes. Magic, portals, high fantasy, great world building, great writing. I adore that the hugely powerful wizard is actually bad a$$ and uses his power in the story. Immensely quirky, lovely shenanigans, excellent slow burn romance. Perfect amount of romance, story and spice. Thoroughly enjoyed.
HEA, m/m, high fantasy, low angst, low drama, medium spice, magic, knight.
This series is just so fun! Tan got himself into quite a bit of trouble and, while Devan was very angry and scared, he of course helped his love get to safety! I still adore how well Tan and Devan play off one another, Devan's anger is not to be messed with, and...oh, the end is just so mean! I am now extremely glad I waited until the last miracle was released before reading this one! Otherwise, I'd be stewing! While I am sad to see this end, I have loved it all. Although....points come off--though, not many, obviously--for grammatical and spelling errors.
Miracle 5 is another fun read in this series of novellas. Tan gets up to some mischief and ends up captured, giving Devan the chance to show how devoted he is to his mage. The rescue and reunion were fantastic with a bit of steam. This one ends on a mild cliffhanger, which is fine since the last one is out tomorrow! I really don't want this series to end
This is not a stand-alone, this series needs to be read in order!
I highly recommend it as a fun romp that is well edited and has none of these pesky "why why why" moments that I find in so many books of this fantasy/romance genre. The characters are fun and likeable, the story line fast paced, the interaction between the two main protagonists is fun banter, and the supporting characters are awesome as well. Not much angst, and even if the guys have enemies, they never get into these dreaded "all is lost" situations. Well done!
I read all 6 novellas in a row (as they should be read since one just picks up from the end of the other) and recommend to have them all lined up on your e-book when you start this one.
The good + Devan coming to Tan's rescue immediately + Devan in his black knight costume + Devan being a major badass + Tan cuddling his way out of trouble + The 'battle' (obliteration)
The neutral o I was cranky af while reading this, so my review is probably negatively biased
The bad - The ending.
Quotes x "Ours is a tale as old as time. A true romance that has been repeated throughout history. I saw a hottie in a tavern, took one look at him, and thought, I want that."
I was not happy with this. Fix it, Devan. And grovel.
The author was much cruel this go round and left us on a humdinger of a moment. (But the mental anime/manga style image in my brain of the looks of horror/terror/rage/completely-done-with-this on the faces of the characters will entertain me endlessly.)
Another fun entry, now to just practice my nonexistent patience while waiting for part six.
A J Sherwood is evil! If you don’t believe me then look at the back of this book. She actually admits to it. She also happens to be endlessly inventive as far as stories are concerned so it balances out I guess. Marvelous darling marvelous.
In the wake of an experiment gone... slightly off the rails, Tan ends up captured by a band of adventurers and imprisoned at the palace. It's up to Devan to smuggle him out. Great fun as usual, and holy hell, that's one evil cliffhanger - on to the last part!
