Several stories of woman being attracted to cowboys. The paths taken to a relationship are varied and not always easy. The second story was my favorite and made me cry.
This is a collection of the first book of a series by a collection of some of my favorite authors. Most I have read before but have enjoyed reading again. LAST CHANCE RANCH – LIZ ISAACSON: This is one I’ve read before and enjoyed rereading. In fact, I may reread the entire series. It is like visiting with old friends. So many familiar stories to come as Last Chance Ranch grows. HEART OF CLAY – SHAWNA HATFIELD: This is a wonderful story of a good marriage that hits a tough patch as all marriages do. How they handle that tough patch makes all the difference. Callan and Clay had a common problem, failure to communicate. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to Book 2. HOME FOR CHRISTMAS – MELISSA MCCLONE: A twice burnt pastry chef, Rachel, meets take charge rancher/venture capitalist, Nate, almost a match made in heaven except for that twice burnt part, that take charge part and over protective brother. A very enjoyable story. HOMECOMING – CAROLYNE AARSEN: Just like there are two sides to every coin, there are usually two sides to every story. Sheryl Kyle and her stepfather and stepbrother have been at odds almost since they met. This one touches my heart with how things could have been different with just a little more, okay, a lot more communication. Great story. BROKEN RANCH – BONNIE R. PAULSON: Bonnie Paulson tells wonderful stories with strong characterizations. She had me in tears over Rosie’s treatment. I was glad to find the second story is on Kindle Unlimited and have already borrowed it. HOMETOWN HERO – KARI TRUMBO: What wonderful story that shows the true sense of being a Christian. Madison has a skewed idea of Christianity. She wants nothing to do with Christians but she can’t help being drawn to those who exhibit their faith even as she is repelled by them. Randal exhibits great patience. ON HIS BENDED KNEE – SHANAE JOHNSON: I really enjoyed this story. The men of Purple Heart Ranch have such big wounded hearts. I’m really sad this series isn’t on KU. THE COWBOY’S ONE AND ONLY – APRILMURDOCK: April Murdock packs this story with romance, family misunderstandings, love, humor and tough times. This is another one I’m sorry isn’t on KU.
Love these stories, they are all connected in a few ways, love being one. I find that these stories show that a man can be kind, gentle and loving without being thought of as less than a man. Also, that women are stronger than a lot of people think.
I haven’t finished them but will soon.
Last Chance Ranch Liz Isaacson This story shows that Scarlette and Hudson have a lot of issues from their lives to overcome before they can admit how they feel about each other. Love how friends and family can help them come to terms with their feelings. Great beginning to a story about the Last Chance Ranch.
Heart of Clay Shanna Hatfield This story really made you fall in love with the characters. Clay and Callan really had a lot of issues and they were so true to life. I found myself really understanding how easy it was for someone who had little self-confidence to find herself doing things to sabotage her own marriage. I was in tears at times and I laughed at other times, which is what a good story does to you. Surprisingly many things that I expected to happen, didn’t happen, which really makes for a good story. Love that this story shows love can conquer all problems.
Home for Christmas Melissa McCone Reading this story makes me think: “this is how real men should act”. I felt like I was reading one of those Hallmark Christmas specials and that was not a bad thing. I love how Ty is that protective big brother and that friend who really cares about others. Nate, with Ty’s help, comes back and saves his family ranch. Nate and Ty become real friends and partners. But when Rachel, Ty’s sister, comes into the picture, things get messy. Totally enjoyed this story.
Homecoming Carolyne Aaron This story tells how Sheryl, who lived through a lot of abuse and misunderstanding, finds her way out. Mark is an example of what a real man should act like. It was a very heartwarming story.
This boxed set was not at all what I was expecting...in a good way. The stories were emotional, deep and touching. The angst was palpable. The HEA's were the results of hard struggles and life lessons. Some just made me say "Whoa!"
The Christian themes provided a faith based foundation for real world struggles, family issues that caused pain, betrayals, and human growth. I enjoyed the way the authored wrote deep feelings between the characters without 45 pages of bedroom scenes (which would have distracted from the story and undermined the character of both the H's and h's).
Read two stories completely but didn't quite get into the first. I wanted to give my review of each story separately but find the comments I had on the first has been erased. I have 5 more stories to read and really can't give a review of them. Must I write my comments on paper for each and then document them here. Each author should have their stories reviewed separately. Now only the last story will get the fullness of my review. Therefore I offer no review of any just my comments on the review process.
Cowboys Forever: Great stories by amazing authors! I loved how every story was different in many ways. yes you had the hot cowboy but they were all vey special men! They all loved animals any they don't expect to find a special women to fit them. I really enjoyed all the stories.
it was alright but not the greatest. the first book great. the second book great. the third book not great. the forth book is awesome. the fifth book was awesome. sixth book not great but it was good. the seventh was not my favorite. the eighth was really good. i don't remember which one it was but the one with the authors was my favorite.
Some of these stories were terrific. Some of them were good. It’s been a while since I’ve read them so I can’t remember which I wasn’t that crazy about. I remember one in particular wasn’t Christian fiction which surprised me
But as far as short story collections go, it’s a good book and worth the read.
I have mixed feelings about his set of 8 books. I enjoyed most of the books. I didn't like the fact that it felt like the authors were trying to sell more of their books. One of the books was terrible and another needed to be edited to make it readable.
Eight contemporary inspirational Christian love stories, featuring cowboys, ranchers, wounded veterans, and the women and families who love them. These are the first books in each author's series with no cliffhangers which I like
This was a great series of books! The plots were great, the characters well written and believable. My favorite part was they had no graphic content. To me that’s the sign of phenomenal storytelling!
