Lee thinks she's safe in the silver city, safe from the monsters. But she's wrong.

While on a mission for the alliance, Lee Reimer, a politician's daughter, celebrates a newly made pact with an alien race, unaware a vicious beast stalks nearby, ready to steal her away.

Vrexus, a new commander of the deadly vrisha known as the Blood Guard, is a lone wolf, ready to gain respect and rank among his own kind. His mission: take the alliance members from the city and bring them to the queen, alive. Seems easy enough for the outcast turned mercenary.

Only, when he captures Lee, he's not expecting to like what he sees.

Lee will do anything to save the others from a dark fate. Even making a bad bet and tying her life to the terrifying alien.

And he has no problems keeping it.

But as much as she fears him, she knows he is her only chance of surviving on the deadly world.

And worse, she can’t help being drawn to him. From his ruby eyes to his bladed tail. She soon sees the male beyond the monster who keeps her close and will kill anything that tries to harm her.

But despite his protective instinct and the forbidden heat between them, Vrexus is still determined to complete his mission at all costs. And whatever Lee might feel, it’s his trust she needs the most.

Will he choose her over the queen or deny what lies in his heart?

And will the queen tear them apart before it's too late?

Vrexus is the third book in the Vrisha Warriors Series, an enemies-to-lovers alien romance with dark elements, and is for mature readers only.

What you get with Olivia Riley books:

- strong fmc
- scary lizard boy
- slow/medium burn romance
- no "fated mates" garbage
- exciting action scenes

The nose on the cover bugs me because I imagine the Vrisha to be a lil more evolved/alien. Having soft fleshy cartilage on your face doesn't fit with the superior fancy coffee genetics they got going on 😆

Premise: Lee, a diplomatic body double, gets caught up in a kidnapping scheme. Vrexus, one of the terrorists, is just tryin to figure out what he wants in life.

I'm not a big fan of the "I can fix him" style of romance. Lee is solid but kind of generic (does this make sense?), and I'm not sure if she's attracted to him because he rescues her so many times or if it's stockholm syndrome. BUT the tension between them was everything. 🔥🔥🔥 Lee's powermove in the pond scene slayed me. That was the hottest thing everrrr yes please him beg 💅

Another 5 star alien romance from Olivia Riley! At this point, she's in a class all her own when it comes to my standard for alien romances. I’ve searched in vain to find other authors that have as much world building, slow building tension, and alien heroes who both look AND act in terrifying ways. I give major props that she hasn't once used the insta-love/lust or fated mates tropes, and instead she takes two characters who tend to, at the very least, be indifferent and unattracted to each other, if not straight up despise one another, and causes them over the course of the book to develop first respect, then friendship and finally attraction and love.

In this one we have Vrexus, who is a commander under the villainous Blood Queen. All he seems to care about is elevating his own rank, and his current mission is to capture a group of the opposing Alliance, which our heroine, Lee, is apart of. What follows is a captor/captive situation mixed with some survival moments, as Vrexus' group have to herd their captives through an alien jungle back to their ship, and along the way Lee might give him the slip a time or two and cause him to have to hunt her down and drag her back. 😏

The animosity between these two was beyond entertaining, and Lee was the type of feisty heroine I adore. She might've been terrified of Vrexus, but she still wasn't backing down or going without a fight. And then, when the blaze of hatred switched over to desire...woof. That scene in the water was chefs kiss. And while Riley's books are far from the steamiest I've read, the intimacy feels so much more poignant because of the journey the two characters go on to get to that point. If you’re a fan of alien romance and haven’t given her books a try, then you’re seriously missing out!

A great addition to the series this has an enemies-to-lovers trope which I’m definitely partial to I’m also a sucker for anything sci-fi that has proper aliens and Vrexus is definitely as alien as they come. Lee our heroine takes her twin sisters' place in an alliance deal and no one would have been any the wiser until that is until all of the gathered alliance members are kidnapped from the Luma’s silver city by the blood guard and then marched cross country all at the orders of the Mad Queen.

Vrexus has been a mercenary and gun-for-hire his whole life he is also one who doesn’t play by the rules. Now in a position where he has two queens offering him the power he has always wanted even he doesn’t know which way his loyalties will swing. Hedging his bets seems wise and as he has no piece in the game himself the way he decides this will be what’s most advantageous to him.

What he couldn’t have ever prepared for or predicted is the small fragile human that he name's Fire Eyes. From the first instant, he’s fascinated and though he tries to fight it disgusted with himself for his weakness he can’t help but be inexplicably drawn to her and this is despite the fact that Lee quite rightly claims to hate him.

Abducted and then forced to trek across a foreign dangerous landscape Lee hates her alien captor whilst at the same time also feels a forbidden attraction. When the two are separated from the rest of the group they inevitably grow closer, the many dangers they face together changing their dynamic but the time is fast approaching when Vrexus and Lee will again rejoin the others and she will be handed over to the mad queen and Lee starts to despair fearing the unexpected feelings she’s experiencing are just one-sided.

Vrexus evolves so much throughout the course of this whilst initially, he seemed self-serving and largely an opportunist by the finish he was someone else entirely. His eventual decisions are very much based on what will keep Lee safe rather than his own wants. His awakening is a slow burn thing and the enemies to lovers was done well here no instalove which I was glad about.

This was well written with some fantastic world building it was definitely an easy read and if you like well-written sci-fi romance this is the series for you. I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend reading it.

I'm sorry to say I really disliked this installment. And it was all because of the FMC Lee. She was so spoiled and arrogant. She comes from a political background and she's supposedly the black sheep of the family. She trades places with her twin sister who is a politician out of safety concerns. She's to sign some alliance with the luma aliens then return home. But she and a few others are kidnapped by the Mad Queen's Blood Guard. Vrexas a Vrisha warrior, starts to develop feelings for Lee while he's also kinda working as a double agent. FYI these books can't be read as standalones. They have to be read in order.

A lot of potential was wasted in this book because of Lee's attitude and the lack of chemistry between them. Believe me. In previous books the Vrisha warriors are all in, but once Lee and Vrexas got together it was so anticlimactic and boring. Not like our usual primal and feisty Vrisha. Not to mention Lee wants to stifle this part of him. He's dominant, primal, and not at all human looking and she's actually ashamed to be attracted to him at first. She has a prejudice against him, and we didn't see that kind of thing in the previous books. Her prejudice irritated me. Vrexas was a lot more accepting. FMC's from the previous books complimented the Vrisha warriors they ended up with. Not this one. Too bad. You can't like them all. Though the last 20% saved the book for me as Lee has a complete change of heart though I don't think she deserves Vrexas. Sorry that's just me being snobby 😂. I'm looking forward to Xeda's book though.

Lastly, the Mad Queen has been terrorizing the whole galaxy yet she meets her end here and that too was disappointing 🤷.

I really liked this book but I must say the story felt repetitive. In each book from the series the Vrisha was an a mission and encountered the human woman on his way. They spent a lot of time together (in the underwater city, on the prison planet, in the jungle) and at ~65% they have sex and fall in love. Then the show down starts at 85% and there is a lot of action and of course a happy end. I don‘t say I don‘t like it but it‘s the same blue print for all three books in this series so far. I like that there is an actual plot and not smut only but I wish the author would get creative in her love stories as well. Sure each book is slightly different but the process is always the same.
Lee and Vrexus both are stubborn and brave. They care for each other and look out for one another. I liked them together but their story lacked some depth. The feelings weren‘t as well described as in other books and their love for each other comes rather quickly.
Still a good book. I love the sci-fi world and the species in this world. It‘s an interesting setting and I will definitely continue with this series.

I was really excited for the first few chapter as we were introduced to the characters. The MMC being on the evil side is one of my favorite set-ups and the FMC was strong without falling into the "strong, sassy woman" trope. Overall the story was good, but it also missed what made her previous books so amazing.

In her other stories, the relationships build very organically with the MCs learning to navigate alien motivations and appearances. By contrast, this book had an extremely rushed relationship build between the characters. it wasn't insta-lust but his transition from viewing her as a chore to caring about her happened in 3 interactions over the course of a few hours. The relationship felt a lot more like the other standard alien romances out there than her previous works.

It took me a while to put my finger on what felt off about the dialogue but at about the half-way mark I figured it out. In previous books, the MMC had a relatively alien way of speaking and thinking that felt very authentic. The MMC in this book basically spoke like a human in their interactions. It was extra weird because he is from the same species as the aliens in previous books (he actually has had LESS contact with humans) but he spoke completely differently.

Overall, it was a pretty good story. It just lacked a bit of the atmosphere that makes her books stand out.

So so so fabulous!🔥💖🔥💖

I have not been disappointed once side I've started reading Olivia Riley's books. I have to say I have a very soft spot for the Vrisha warriors. In this thrilling new installment Vrexus is a wild card Vrisha warrior. He never does what is expected and causes trouble where ever he goes. All he wants is to be Predomis , a queen of his own and the power that goes with it. When he's summoned by one Queen who is allied with the alliance to find and disposed of the Mad Queen who hates humans and wants to see the alliance destroyed. He makes deals with both powerful queens to gets what he wants but he never realized what he really wants is a smart feisty human woman who stands up to him and anyone else who gets in her way. Lee is twin to her sister Elle who is one of the leaders of the alliance. She's always been the rebel twin the one who always seems to disappoint those around her except for her twin. After her latest escapade that goes a bit wrong as payment she take she's sisters place at a very important meeting. At that meeting she's abducted by an arrogant, Vrisha who infuriates her and tells her he's taking her to the max queen. These two strong willed individuals clash again and again respect grows feelings turn intense. What was once resentment and fear turns into desire respect and passion. They question everything they've ever known or wanted . And fight for what they both need the most. Each other! I loved everything about this book. The chemistry was there between the H&h from the first time their characters meet. The world building is fabulous and the storyline kept me swiping the pages well into the see yours or the morning! I can't recommend this book or the entire series enough !! More please I hope Olivia Riley has more stories because I really don't want them to come to an end!💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥🔥💖💖

It’s 1am and I just finished consuming this novel (just over 25 hours from starting it… dang job, could’ve been done sooner). Olivia Riley writes amazing sci-fi romance! This book, like the others she’s written, is more sci-fi than you find in a typical romance novel - but she definitely delivers the romance too! More than the previous novels I feel this one gave me delicious angst (recency bias may apply). It truly swept me away to an alien planet.

In this novel Lee is part of an alliance visit to a planet when the her delegation gets kidnapped. Vrexus is the leader of the Vrisha warriors that stole them to take them to an evil queen (warning: it does have bloody action/fighting). The story is gripping and builds a vibrant world. It can be read as a stand alone (I realized after starting it that I had somehow missed reading the 2nd of this current series; this is the 3rd of the Vrisha warriors novels), there are passing details from the previous novels, but no big spoilers. I loved this novel so much - I’m glad I can now go back and read the 2nd one!

This story does have some “spicy” scenes. I love that the romance feels authentic and it truly built a believable enemies to lovers arc. I feel like I could gush over this story for ages - I’m so glad that I was able to get an advance copy from booksprout. Love love love Olivia Riley novels!!!

I think this was my favorite of the series. I’m not gonna lie, there were irritations, but overall I really enjoyed this.

Each one of the MMCs in this series felt unique and I really enjoyed getting to know them. Sadly I felt like all the MFC were too similar - including traits that annoyed me on occasion.

But I’m a sucker for the touch-her-and-die vibes and the hurt/comfort in this book. I’m easy that way.

It could have definitely used a little more foreplay in the spicy parts. That felt kind of unrealistic.

Another solid story! An exciting read. Interesting characters. Events kind of referenced/influenced by previous book, too.

The "slow burn" of this one was more mild on the burn and not as slow. Vrexus was a little confusing on what he wanted but it sounds like he wasn't even entirely sure what he wanted either and he talks about it at the end so I'm satisfied enough there. This series is definitely not that spicy in general, tbh.

Lee was a cool character and her having to balance the pretense with her true self (who was definitely handling differently than I think her sister would) was fun to read. I could have done with a bit more buildup in romantic interest from her side, but it was also understandable that she'd be very torn.

Now that I see it, I definitely would like more to the endings. The ending was satisfying enough in terms of a "happy" ending that ties up plot points and characters talking through stuff but I want more!

I have a lot of other worldbuilding questions, too. About Vrisha society and the structure. About housekin and who they are. Are they also Vrisha? I want to know more about the process to becoming a queen and predomis! It sounds like there are new queens all the time? How are they chosen? How many queens are there? How are dirra chosen versus warriors? Are dirra respected at all? They should be given the warriors are clearly lacking in other skills but the books have all been from a warrior's perspective so they may have been biased.

I would also love to know more about some of the other races! I'd love a book on Elle and Azeon, the nillium, but it'd have to be adjacent to this series since this is literally called Vrisha Warriors.

4 stars! Binge read in one night (& stayed up way too late to do it).

I love Olivia Riley & I love her books. They are such an easy and unproblematic read. You know going in your going to get good characters, some good action, and a good romance.

In this book, Lee & Vrexus were a great match and Riley wrote herself an easy out so it wasn't all that angsty (we could see how things would resolve right away).

One thing I would love to see more of is more detailed spicy scenes. This is her third book in this series and typically the hero and the heroine have never encountered one anothers species up close before. Due to this the fact that idea that we quickly go to some p in v sex feels rushed. Vrexus for example does some A+ oral in this book but how does he even know what to do? Vrisha lady anatomy is not the same.

It may get repetitive to have every couple do this but I would love a bit more connection or emotional investment during these scenes. They can feel a bit surface level and end too soon.

Otherwise great read.

I really enjoyed this read! I think of all 3 it’s my favorite!
Very good world building if you have not read the ones before this you won’t feel like your missing anything.
Fun quick entertaining read!
Enemy to lovers. Forced proximity. Kidnapping. Slow burn. Hot alien sex🔥

I loved the aliens/ human dynamic and the fact that they are enemies in more than one way. There are many things happening for both these characters and things are not what they seems.
There’s action and suspense. I wish we had more romance although at least with his pov we get a bit more understanding I liked that a lot.
The fmc was sassy and strong.
3rd person pov

As always, I love jumping into Olivia Riley's Vrisha universe! It's such a fun and thrilling world to enjoy. Her newest installment certainly didn't disappoint. The world-building is top-notch, and you are instantly sucked in. In fact, I was so stuck that I had to go and read the first two Vrisha warriors books from a book hangover.

Crossing fingers we don't have to wait too long for the next book! :)

Worth the wait! This was good, so so good. It did feel a little short for some reason. I think Axrel is still my favorite of this particular series, but the fight at the end of this one was so amazing that I literally found myself cheering out loud. Love the world of the Vrisha and everything that Olivia Riley writes!

This is another case of the heroine’s intelligence being sacrificed for the plot. 50% in and all I’ve felt is irritation for her stupidity. It’s a device to get her and Vrexus closer and I don’t appreciate it.

Not my favorite of the series but it was pretty good. The heroine was more annoying than the other books but I didn’t mind the hero.

Lee was feisty but not always sensible and reasonable. That combo just pisses me off most times.

The ending was nice!!

Olivia Riley has done it again! One of my favorite authors ever. I loved this book so much. The tension between Vrexus and Lee was intense. There’s nothing better than an enemies to lovers trope but not every author can bring it to life like Olivia did in this story. The action was amazing and the back and forth between these two was not only hot but hilarious! I definitely recommend this series to everyone. I truly hope Olivia continues to write about the Vrisha warriors. Can’t wait for the next one!.

Well I’m looking for a book and couldn’t find one that really got my attention, so I’m going with a safe one because I know I like this author and I also know I like these brutal vrisha warriors hahaha Yep a win-win situation.

Woah!!, so interesting because I don’t remember meeting a real vrisha queen, I always love that on this series we have dual POV, this way we can have a better idea of what is happening, how the characters think , their differences and when they start having feelings for each other, but I’ll confess I always like the guy POV more, because being a alien makes you think differently from a human so yeah I find it super interesting.

Their society is soooooo intriguing, because all the guys are super brutal warriors but the society is in a way matriarchal, yeah bitches !!! Girl power!! Our guy Vrexus looks mildly… unstable? Yeah maybe that’s it hahaha he apparently even intimidates the queen and it’s not a easy thing because the females are wildly dominant. Uh- oh!! Our guy also apparently doesn’t has honor!!, PURRRFECT!!! I love when the male lead isn’t a honorable good guy, yeah I have a serious kinky for villains hahahaha. Damn I’m dying to remember what being a predomis mean.

Ah how I love the world building of this series, we have sooo many species and such details, it’s delicious to oh Goddess there’s so much information, and I’m struggling to remember how the alien species looks like. Damn Lee shouldn’t be in the ship, she’s basically doing that thing twins do, yeah you know taking each others place, her sister is a big deal and too important to risk being killed or taken so this makes sense, it’s safe this way, obviously not to Lee but to the alliance in geral.

Lee is absolutely the opposite of her sister, and thank gods for that because her sister is absolutely the good twin, well behaved and gentle but still respectable and commanding yeah absolutely the gem of a political family, but Lee? Hahaha damn the girl is bad and I love her already, she works with trade… ANY KIND, yeah even drugs, see? She’s the cool twin.

The world building never stops astonishing me, it’s so rich and detailed!!! In every book we know a new planet and Illdara is something you could expect from a Fae night court, dark but brilliant and beautiful. I really have a soft spot for books that have surviving in the wilds hahaha it’s always funn and entertaining. I like Aaron the nillium he looks like a good guy and for the moment the only one that can help Lee deal with all the being kidnapped and trying to keep the others alive.

"And after, I'll cut your fingers off and make you eat them." He was smiling now, a vicious grin that looked almost psychotic.

Fucking Belial!!! Vrexus pissed off is so freaking hot!!! Well, well, well… our sweet guy is so bitter apparently because of a shit childhood and he’s okay about being a bad guy, but in true I think he’s really hurt inside and is afraid of letting someone near enough to see it and also about trusting and being betrayed, it’s probably why he doesn’t have honor, why be loyal if no one ever was with you?

"I think I was just trying to get attention. They loved my sister. Maybe if they had given me the same love as her, I would have been better off. A little love can go a long way."

Damn…this one hit to near home… because I know what is like to be the less loved sibling… my mother always wanted a boy, when she was pregnant of me she was sure I was going to be a boy, so when the doctor told her I was a girl…well let’s say this was my mom first disappointment with me, since then the list only gets longer… but I tried really hard to please her, I didn’t even liked dolls I always picked dragons but then…five years later she had my brother … and he is the golden child, the perfect one… when I was younger I was jealous and angry but with time I just… accepted I’ll always be the other one or like my mother likes to call me Cain, my brother obviously being Abel…. Sometimes I think I can almost understand what Cain felt… but I have a good relationship with my mom, I’m still trying to please her but resigned myself to be every fucking time second to my brother, even if he doesn’t help her or just is a asshole she always sides with him, so I learned to pick my battles.

Who would want to be with a scaly son of a bitch who has knives for fingers and skin that can cut you with a single touch? I would rather hug a cactus." Vrexus' hiss of laughter only made her more annoyed. He started to walk again and so did she. "And who would want a scaleless sack of flesh with skin as easy to peel as fruit? That’s a wonder. I would rather lie with a bag of sand.”

Ah… how I like their bickering, it’s like foreplay. Vrex is a goner already hahaha damn I love his POV because we can see when he stopped being an asshole and turned into a caring asshole, yeah really the improvement uh? Hahahaha. Fucking hell !!! Lee is a evil genius hahaha the girl is giving Vrex the worst case of blue balls ever seen in history and we can affirm the poor guy is frustrated, she even let him take a taste and then she denied him… see? She’s BRILLIANT!!! Who says only the strongest has to be in command? Nop the real boss is the trickster one.

"Tell me," he said, in a low voice. His hand trailed around her ribs, then up to her breasts, his talons grazing over them. "Are you going to play nice this time?" He nipped at her neck. "Or are you going to make us both suffer? Deny that you want what I have to give?"

Oh sweet baby Asmodeus… I’m blushing right now hahaha damn THIS IS FUCKING HOT, Vrex is so dangerous and sexy…damn it’s almost like I can listen he whisper in my ear, the author really did a great job here hahaha. Fuck me to the pits…the sex? Was just delicious to read hahaha brutal, primal and HOT… yeah I loved every word hahaha because they weren’t just fucking they were rutting like animals, super sweet uh? But what I really liked, the sex scene wasn’t too long that we could get bored, had the perfect size, something in the middle that makes us crave for more.

You always had questionable taste in men, Lee, but this by far wins the 'you need therapy' award.

Oh Goddess hahaha oh Goddess I’m dying hahaha seriously I’m laughing so hard right now, damn girl bad taste in man? Yeah maybe but let me tell you a secret good boys go to Heaven but bad boys bring Heaven to you hahaha yep from the song but truthful words were never spoken before, yeah yeah I know they can bring Heaven to you but after? You’re going straight to a hell of a broken heart, and based in my experience..was worth it… see? This why I do therapy too hahaha.

Damn Lee should win a prize for more fretting after sex thoughts ever, I’m a pessimist but this girl? Makes me looks like a newbie hahaha but the worst is that she makes sense, and our champ was still passed out after rutting all night, yeah I’m impressed too, so after the crazy conclusions Lee is getting by herself, if I was her a could run from the hills or whatever…it’s almost funny because Vrex is in the clouds all sweet and touchy-feely but Lee is freaking the hell out inside thinking he’s taking the to the queen and is going to kill her… what she is probably right but I don’t think Vrex thought about it yet since all his blood is localized in other place instead of his brain.

Vrexus didn't notice her unusual quiet as he led the way. If anything, he seemed carefree and as energetic as a puppy. He leapt over rocks and ran up ahead to make sure it was safe before she walked the path. His tail weaved back and forth behind him. Every so often, he would look back at her with such a playful expression she almost felt sorry she could hardly smile back at him in return.

Yep he’s fucking cute when he’s happy, I’m trying to imagine Vrex the deadly vrisha mercenary, weaving his tail hahahaha yeah hell just froze. Well this book was good, like I thought it could be, this author never lets me down, every book of the series is awesome and complete, with new worlds and new species, it’s really always interesting, I really love the vrisha all this brutal and dangerous warrior thing? Yeah it’s my thing hahaha.

Couldn’t put it down, so good!

The dynamics of the two main characters in this story is so interesting. Because on the surface they couldn’t seem anymore different from one another but actually both struggle with feelings of loneliness and being outcasts. Even though they fight their feelings for each other (not insta-love at all which I appreciate) they realize what’s important and we have our HEA. Low angst story that kept me engaged the whole time. Great plot with good action. I always love Olivia Riley’s books.

2.5 stars

There was more development and detail that needed to be incorporated in the story. It felt too rushed, our MCs didn't really know each other, they weren't even sure they loved each other. It was more of a lust-for-you sort of thing, but even then it was incomplete, not really believable and I kept thinking that some dialoges were a little like disney-ish villians, even from the protagonists, they practically spat every detail of their plan BEFORE they even got the job done.

Also, the Mad Queen died so easily, this supposedly evil Vrisha who terrorized millions and was mentioned in almost every book, died in a couple of pages.

Overall, too rushed and a little flat.

2.5 ⭐️ Watch out, there’s a glitch in the matrix.

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨SPOILERS AHEAD!!🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

It was an intense and engaging story as always … except for one issue, and the main characters.
I could not connect with them, or so many of the others in this one.

First off, the FMC is taking her sisters place, so if she is captured and possibly killed, it’s her life, not her sisters.

WTF?!!

Never would I consider my life more important then a family members.
Yet her sister goes along with this, and her parents were the ones to set it up.

How can anyone be okay with this?
How can I ever like the sister, or those who went along with this?
Plus, losing some respect for the FMC that she’s not furious or truly hurt by this. She still thinks her sister shites gold…

When the other delegates find out, they think nothing of it, or regarding either sister, grrrrrr!

Next, even without that, the FMC is in trouble for illegal acts that include being connect to the drug trade, and has no remorse for any of it (It’s how the parents justified everything. Do this and we will take care of the legal issues.).
Nope, she just lost all my respect and consideration

Whereas the MMC, well just for shites and giggles, he’s a psychopath.
Knows right from wrong, just doesn’t care unless it benefits him. Plus of course the joy he gets from killing and torturing…

He does develop some caring by the end, but like a true psychopath, it’s only connected to what he wants, and retaining it.

Okay, that might be a little harsher than necessary, but there’s also enough truth there.

The whole romance is questionable, as it occurred while she believed (and largely was), his captive, at his mercy, while also watching him hurt and bully her companions (also prisoners).

There were also a couple of scenes between them that didn’t fit. Having the FMC come off more like an arrogant, immature teen, whose intelligence was in question.
Why would the MMC be attracted to that?

In fairness, outside of those moments, they did kinda fit, I just didn’t care.

This SOOOO didn’t work for me.

Basically, I skimmed over many of those bits, and concentrated on the overarching story. Reading for series continuity, and holding on to the bits that were worth it.

There was enough here to be recognisable to the authors normal quality and series continuity, that it can be written off as something for other’s tastes.

I’ll most definitely continue, both this series and others, but…no re-read of this one ever.

A SOLID 3.5 STARS! #ENEMIESTOLOVERS

I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't the best Olivia Riley story. This read pretty short even though it was an average novel length, and I felt there was more room for the MCs romantic development.

VREXUS was badass and seriously I think I've been on a YANDERE hype that I found his carnal assassination so fucking cool, even if it was inhumanely brutal. Gory, in fact. I could buy into how he slowly became attracted to our heroine, forced captivity-close contact and all, although I would have preferred their 'courtship' to be more meaningful. He had no choice but to care for LEE after she was severely drugged and lost her muscle sensory for days, creating a situation where he started to see her as more than a job, more than a lower being. He had it coming because he technically kidnapped LEE and he started off as the bad guy in the story. But, when VREXUS falls in love, he's major possessive and will do anything to protect his lover.

LEE was okay, I mean she wasn't a character I would love to fall in love with. She had attitude, although not what I would call endearing, but it definitely helped her survive and was the main reason why VREXUS became captivated with her.

OVERALL this was like a rollercoaster, unstoppable version of enemies to lovers/forced kidnapping sci-fi alien romance. Personally, I believe this would have been better off as a slow burn, because then there would be room for the MCs to truly fall deeply and to really get to know each other better, not to mention have more exciting/perilous situations to pitch them into.

Absolutely FANTASTIC third entry in the Vrisha Warriors series that is filled with action, adventure, political machinations and an enemies-to-lovers romance that covered all the emotional bases for me.
Vrexus, outcast mercenary wants the rank of predomis and strikes a deal with mad Queen Theda to achieve his goal. Bringing her Alliance members who are on a treaty signing mission will grant his wish.
BUT Vrexus is doing a little double dealing and things will ultimately not play out as he supposed.
His main distraction will become Lee Reimer who is impersonating her twin sister Elle as head of Alliance Treaties while on the mission.
This was one compelling and riveting journey within the Vrisha and Alliance worlds, and I was totally immersed in this story that most assuredly delivered one heck of a good steamy romance!
With the imaginative world building, expert writing, and awesome lead characters this energy infused narrative was a total pleasure of a read.

Highly Recommended!

I just wasn't feeling this one ): I loved the survival aspect but I always want more. More suffering. The hero to be more cruel. More hardships. This didn't feel like a romance to me, it just didn't make sense. Their attraction came from nowhere, and it just didn't feel genuine or authentic. They knew nothing about each other. The hero didn't even know the heroines name until the last like 10 pages when he suddenly learns it without having ever been told??? I felt more chemistry between the heroine and the nillium(idk if I'm spelling that correctly) guy who saved her life constantly. The chemistry just felt forced. It felt like there was no reason for their attraction. I really wanted to like this but I didn't. And it wasn't even very spicy. The scenes were pretty short and vague IMO. I wanted a little bit more.

One thing I LOVED though was when the hero was going down on the heroine and she denied him the satisfaction of seeing her finish/orgasm. Perfection. That was hot and I loved it

First off, I LOVE the 'Vrisha Warriors' series. The Vrisha are alien, predatory and just scary enough to be oh so sexy if I'm being honest. Lee is a strong female lead that you can definitely get behind. Lee is determined, strong, smart and has a lot of empathy and perseverance. The story, world building, character development, political strife/pending war between planets and species is perfect. The books I mainly read are very high in the fantasy/science fiction department and they gotta have some romance/spice for me to stay hooked. This has such a great combination of it all for me. With all of the books in this series, I find myself falling in love with the female lead and legit lust after the Vrisha in the story too. None of the women in any of these stories are helpless by any means, which makes me love the series even more. They're all strong, smart, independent women. Monster smut lovers out there, do yourself a favor and please jump on this bandwagon with me. Highly highly recommend.

Improved

I enjoyed this last book much better than the preceding ones, definitely tell author improving her craft as the books go along.

There's more character development, not just in the female protagonist but the male MC as well. In the previous books there'd be a lot of buildup and tension around the male MC, but when it came to his turn to speak, it fell flat. Vrexus definitely has more 'life' to him

The premise is much the same, enemies to lovers alien-human romance. A bit more fleshed out as Lee grapples with her "guilt and shame " at loving the enemy, and Vrexus has to sit and really think about his actions more than he'd have done so before Lee. The world building a bit less mature in this one compared to others, but it is a third book with the foundations already previously set.

Happy ending
Steam

Definitely an improvement from the previous, I hope there's more in this series but the plot line can only be explored from so many angles before the characters blend.
