Annabelle Lewis, a pseudonym for the author, lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regrettably? Perhaps. She still believes she’s a Texan even though the math no longer supports that. Nor her birthplace. Nor her residence. No offense, Minnesota. You’ve got your good points too, but only about six months of the year.

In her youth, Annabelle was a complete failure. Ask anyone who knew her. Any of her teachers and family would tell you this. High school graduation was a sad day for all when Annabelle walked proudly off the high school stage, her thoughts consumed with boys, beer, and after-parties, and later into the arms of her parents. Her father’s laughter and singular remark? “I didn’t think you’d make it. Get a job at the post office, they have a good retirement plan.”

A high bar and words to live by, but Annabelle wanted more. She needed to flunk out of college too. But damn, she sure did have a good time. Trivial arrest records not-withstanding, it was a growth period for our girl. And if you look closely, you’ll see a bit of what was to come when she majored in criminal justice. Her lifelong aspiration was to become a judge. Hmm.

For better or worse, Annabelle didn’t graduate from college but did find gainful employment and a fulfilling career. This path ended when she became a mom. Married to her wonderful George, who to this day can hardly remember an actual proposal, Annabelle finally became a mother. She didn’t have a clue how hard she would need to work to keep those self-imposed requirements of Downey-fresh, iron-pressed sheets, home-baked meals, and mom-of-the-year awards arriving. She composed a small self-affirmation song and made her children sing it to her for money. She was a very good mom.

After clearing the largest hurdles of motherhood and regrettably, begrudgingly, and not-without-tears, launching her children onto the world, she looked around and realized she had a lot to say. Picking up a laptop, she got to work.

Annabelle spends her days continuing to tackle the challenges of motherhood, for both her humans and canines. She also writes. And reads. And cleans. And cooks. And bakes. And cleans again. She also supports her husband, George, in an administrative capacity for their small business. She’s in charge of payroll and cuts George’s checks. This leads to no marital acrimony.

In the beginning, with the blank page staring at her and possibly in a hostile mood after being literally mauled by a dog and by the world in general, she had an idea. What if she could wield a force of good upon unsuspecting evil-doers? What if she had the resources to get the job done without dealing with committee and anyone else’s whiney-ass opinions?

It was gold. It took off. Annabelle sat down and began to write and couldn’t stop. To date, having written over a million words in the Carrows Family Chronicles and her second series on the Boston Clairvoyants, several items have become quite clear. Annabelle had a lot to say. Annabelle really enjoys writing. And although she hates all things technology, she begrudgingly pounds her head on her desk daily as obstacles are thrown in her path. Almost a hero.

Since entering her world of make-believe, she has rebelled against all intrusion of real-world responsibilities. Her house is a mess, but she tries. Her family is fed, but more often than not, on takeout. She vows to shower every day, but no, it’s a vow she’ll never keep. Her friends are neglected, but not in her heart.

Can be Read as a Stand Alone--But, is Better in Series. I read a lot, and I have read the other books in this series--but it had been a while, and I needed to remember some details. The author does a beautiful job filling readers in on the mysterious abilities and pasts of her characters' lives so that this novel could be read as a standalone story. However, I think reading the series in order may make some of the characters' situations and relationships more meaningful and clear to readers. Also--I love this series, and each book is well worth a spot on your reading list!

How the Wicked Run isn't a Who-Dun-it Style Mystery. The culprit behind the missing women--and even Astrid's murder--is easy enough to figure out even before he is divulged early in the novel. However, knowing the bad guy doesn't take away from the other storylines in this book! The heart of this mystery is watching good prevail over evil--and romance and healing rise from the "ashes" of the characters' past misfortunes and experiences. The author gives some twists and turns along the way and throws some hurdles and obstacles for the characters to overcome. This book brings racism to the forefront for the story's characters. Seeing the way the novel's pieces fall together to bring the characters resolution and peace while righting wrongs makes this the perfect thriller.

Expect to Love the Characters. Even if this is the first book you have read from the series, you can expect to feel like the characters are old friends. The story has a feel-good flow as the characters use their powers and personalities to help others in need. While I love Sidrah and Max--Bones, the dog, is still my favorite.

Would I Recommend How the Wicked Run by Annabelle Lewis? This book, as well as the others in the series, is an easy-to-read page-turner that brings suspense, good vs. evil, social issues, romance, and even occasional humor. While you may solve the primary mystery quickly--there are lots of character pieces to place before the end that will keep you turning the pages. I recommend this book to fans of light mysteries and supernatural thrillers that entertain through wonderful characters and satisfying good vs. evil outcomes!

I received a copy of this book from the author or publisher. All opinions are my own.

How the Wicked Run is the third installment from The Boston Clairvoyants by Annabelle Lewis. I have had the pleasure and enjoyed reading the previous two books, Dead Cat, Run and Cut and Run. I was excited to have the opportunity to read How the Wicked Run and wanted to see what else could possibly happen next. I was not disappointed. This one is by far my favorite of the series. Since this is book three, it would be best to start the series with book one before starting The Boston Clairvoyants.
It was great to catching up with Jenny, Max, Sidrah, Leon, and Bones and seeing where the fabulous five would go in How the Wicked Run. Within the pages, there was a lot of adventure, action, mystery, suspense and even romance. It was an honor to take this journey with these characters and felt like I was being a part of their tale. I loved every single page.

I am giving How the Wicked Run five stars. Readers who enjoy reading thrillers, suspense, paranormal and supernatural will definitely not want to miss this book and series. I am hoping there will be more books to come from The Boston Clairvoyants series to see where else Annabelle Lewis will take her characters in the near future.

I received a paperback copy of How the Wicked Run from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

I felt the beginning was a little slow, but I am fairly certain that was me and not the author’s writing. I have read two previous books in the series and was trying to rack my brain for what the past two books held. Fortunately, How the Wicked Run didn’t require me to know everything as it did a great job of keeping me in the loop without feeling lost. (And of course, the more I read, the more I remembered from the past.)

I felt the ‘who done it’ aspect that I love figuring out so much was revealed a little earlier than I personally like, but the pure evil darkness left me on the edge of my seat.

The events that occurred had me trying to figure out how this would all end and it ended quite magically – both in how the mystery was solved and in other ways.

If you enjoy the slightly darker mysteries, I definitely recommend How the Wicked Run. I have enjoyed the entire series up to now and really hope the author continues the series. It is a different viewpoint that I thoroughly enjoy and love the ‘family’ of characters that make up the ‘Boston Clairvoyants’.

As a long-time Carrows fan, I can definitely see the connection. Here, the good guys...Sidrah and crew... tackle racism and it's a thrilling ride. Once I started, couldn't put this one down. Twists and turns galore. Five healthy stars. When is book 4 coming?

How the Wicked Run delivers three core things that grab me. I get emotionally attached to the characters, the story keeps me turning the page, and at just the right pace. Annabelle Lewis does these and in a manner that seems as if she is sitting next to me telling the story orally. Great creative book by an extremely talented author.

I enjoyed this book of deceit and mystery and psychic abilities. I liked Jenny, Max, Sidrah and Bones. I felt it was fun to learn about each of these characters psychic abilities. I felt that this story would have been a little easier to understand if I had read the first book in this series. I liked Audrey. I enjoyed the suspense throughout the story. I am looking forward to reading more stories with this group of characters. I received a copy of this book from ireadbooktour for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I want to read how these fabulous five stories began

I was so mad at myself for not reading how these fabulous five stories began. This book is insanely unbelievably good. The best book I ever read so far for December. I become a new fan of Ms. Annabelle Lewis. The fabulous five Jenny, Sidrah, Max. Leon and Bones play each character very important rule which will make your mind go crazy. I love reading this book so much. I was scared and so anxious about how the story will end. It blows my mind.

Mystery or suspense is one of my favorite genres to read. How The Wicked Run tops everything for this book reader. The power of helping people for these five or solving the crime despite putting their lives in danger does not matter as long as they nail the suspect. The book is hard to put down. I read during my break from work and even in the middle of the night when I wake up, I read it constantly.

Evil does not win but good people always will. It is not only a story of survival, love, and friendship but also the healing of the community and treating everyone fairly.

Wow! I am in awe of this page turner and I'm in love with another fictional dog Bones. While the villain was revealed early in this one it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the story as there is just so much evil it leaves you gobsmacked. I loved getting to know the fabulous five and was praying for them to save those who needed saving. I read this as a standalone and while it was easy enough to pick up I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the other books in the series first so I recommend doing that. While this wasn't a cosy mystery persay it has action, romance, good versus evil, clairvoyants and my most favourite thing in the world a dog!

If you like quirky detectives, you’re going to love How the Wicked Run. A popular waitress disappears in a rural Massachusetts town, and the Boston clairvoyants take it upon themselves to save the victim and apprehend the kidnapper. Their work is cut out for them, since the kidnapper is a very clever, evil rapist and murderer. The clairvoyants will need all the supernatural powers they can muster. Mega-millionaire Sidrah can see the future. Her protégé Jenny can see the past. Her lover Max can feel things right and wrong in the present. And their dog Bones, who eats dinner with them at the dining room table, thinks like a human blessed with an uncanny ability to see behind the scenes.

After some time spent on a prolog and a rehashing of how the Clairvoyants found each other, the plot takes off, and the reader is aboard for a great ride. There are some unexpected twists along the way. There are also some nice little humorous phrasings. For example, Sidrah goes into a grubby, sleazy bar and orders a bottle of beer because she “thought better of ordering something in an open glass.” There is also a romance angle. Not only are Max and Sidrah lovers, but beautiful, twenty-year-old Jenny has problems in the romance department. She has trouble keeping men once they discover she can see into the past. What young man would want to hook up with someone who might see every embarrassing thing he’d ever done? So Jenny has to resolve that as well help save the victim.

All in all, a delightful romp. This is number 3 in the Boston Clairvoyant series. We look forward to number 4.

Read my full review on Rosepoint Publishing.

I do enjoy a fun little romp into the world of clairvoyants. In this series, Sidrah Keeling has gathered like gifted persons, male, female, and Bones—a sweet golden--with a goal of “fostering romance and promoting healing.”

I loved the idea of Lazy Pond Farm, a major fixer-upper just outside of Macoun, Massachusetts. It’s to be a respite, a safe haven for those in the “family” to rest, relax, and recoup.

When two ladies go missing, however, they realize they might have gotten the property for more than their own mission. There are support characters in the periphery and an antagonist who is a brutal racist as well as a budding relationship between Jenny and a new member of the family. If the women are still alive, can they find them before they are not?

Unfortunately, I missed the second in the series which must have explained the origin of the wealth behind protagonist Sidrah. While this is a good addition to the series, lacking this information might not make for a good standalone. Otherwise, you might very well find this an interesting dip into the psychic world. It is engaging and entertaining.

I received a complimentary review copy of this book from the author that in no way influenced this review. These are my honest thoughts.

Jenny, Sidrah, Max and Leon and their dog, Bones, work together using psychic gifts to give wronged people second chances and discover the real perpetrators of evil deeds. Adrian needs their help, but doesn’t understand how or why they are helping him. Will his faith in them turn out to be justified?

I loved the characters in this story and enjoyed the use of psychic gifts to help people in need.

I was given this advanced copy to read. This story is the third book in this series of clairvoyant characters who come together as a family to help those less fortunate. This book speaks of racism and how this group came together to fight same. An infusion of romance is spread throughout this read. Good does overcome evil in the end. A great action-packed story.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

I had read Dead Cat, Run and Cut and Run and I liked them, so I was happy to review the third book in the trilogy.

Five psychics in Boston found each other and have become a “family.” They truly would do anything for each other. There was a lot of character development in the first book so although How the Wicked Run does stand on its own, I would recommend at least reading Dead Cat, Run first for an even better experience.

The psychics are good, moral people and know they need to help others, so they are constantly battling evil. They are led by Jenny’s visions but one of her visions is personal, and Sidrah is all over it. Jenny works so hard for others, so Sidrah wants this vision to come true so that she’ll have a little time to herself.

Once again, they’re up against evil. Once the murderer/kidnapper is brought to light to the reader, the book gets difficult to put down. The things he does to a “friend” are unfathomable.

I like how seemingly unrelated events eventually tie together. If you’re looking for a good thriller, How the Wicked Run won’t disappoint.

The gang is all back, including Bones, the fabulous dog character, to solve the latest mystery using their clairvoyant talents.

Sidrah purchases a country home that needs some "work" outside the town of Macoun, Massachusetts, for a bit of well-deserved vacation for her "found family" of clairvoyants.

Naturally, fate has other plans as they encounter a mystery and rampant racism from the town. When two ladies from town go missing, the gang jumps into action. Will they find the women in time for a rescue, or will it be a sad recovery operation?

There are twists and turns to keep the reader flipping the pages. This is a very hard book to put down.

Annabelle Lewis writes compelling mysteries mixing a little romance and a lot of humor into her stories. This is the third book in the series, but if you aren't a stickler for details and can read for the simple enjoyment of a well-told tale, How the Wicked Run can be read as a stand-alone story.

I received a digital copy of the book for an iRead book tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

If you are looking for a feel-good book, look no further.

I read this book because I met the author, liked her sarcasm, and she gave me a copy of the book. Now I have to get her to sign it. I admit that I am almost completely unbiased about this book. I don’t even like this genre, though I will surely read more of this series. This book has one of coolest dogs in any book, even better than Old Yeller, because this dog is clairvoyant!

It’s a mystery set in a small New England town. The bad guy is really bad. The good people are magical and very unassuming about their magic powers. The scenery is beautiful, as is the small-town atmosphere.

The writing flows gracefully, and is relaxing and pleasant to read, even through several plot twists. The book is over too soon, the magic becomes believable; I was left with a happy feeling.

Even though this is the 3rd book in a series, it stands alone by itself well.
