EVOLVE, A Children’s Book For Adults, is a picture book that takes readers on a playful philosophical journey that explores the age-old Who am I? The book narrates three foundational stories from the book of Genesis, subtly inflecting them with existential motifs that inquire where we come from and where we might choose to go. A liberating message is our deepest purpose is to be free, co-creative participants of the unfolding universe.

The biblical stories of Adam, Cain, and Abraham are represented as successive stations along a journey to the Self, that invite us to invent and celebrate our lives.

EVOLVE interlaces words with pictures that plummet to the core, which words or pictures alone cannot convey. As with every great children's picture-book, EVOLVE can be explored again and again, yet, it is in every way a book for adults that challenges our very idea about what it means to be an adult.

EVOLVE is like a great pop song, seemingly wholly new with a message we have always known. It is meant to be shared quietly and meditated over with a loved one. With a lighthearted touch, it invites the reader to be serious with serious matters. It is a book that heals. It is an invitation, an experience.

About the author

Jean-Pierre Weill is a painter and writer of picture-books for adults that explore philosophical and spiritual ideas. Weill was born in France and raised in New York, and he received his BA from St. John’s College, Annapolis, MD. Weill is the creator of vitreography, a unique mode of painting and drawing in 3-dimensional multi-level glass paintings; his work has sold in hundreds of galleries and museum outlets throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and he has designed original works for Disney Art Editions, Inc., Warner Bros Co., and Coca-Cola, Inc. Weill published his first book, The Well of Being: A Children’s Book for Adults (Macmillan, 2013) to critical acclaim. Weill currently lives in Jerusalem.
