Emery’s whole world has fallen apart … I was just beginning to get my life together when I was abducted by aliens and dumped on a deserted planet with four other women. Believe it or not, finding a way back to Earth isn’t currently my biggest problem. Nope, I’ve gotten myself separated from the others and trapped in a cave with a huge male alien who doesn’t understand a word I say.
Torksten’s world is threatening to implode … For seven long years I fought in the arena as a gladiator slave. Now I am free, and I have made a new life for myself on a deserted planet in deep space, away from everyone else’s problems. That is, until a ship crash lands in my forest and Emeryel stumbles into my cave. Soon I am questioning whether being alone is really what I want. But how can I contemplate a life with Emeryel when her very presence threatens my stolen freedom?

So this was a cute story with a grumpy MMC and a deeply insecure FMC who are stuck on the muddy planet she crashed on. As much as I enjoyed the dynamic between them at the beginning, there was a disconnect between that and them falling in love.
This was really different from my usual read-in-one-day alien romance. It wasn’t a campy space adventure. It was more.. somber?
After crash landing on an alien planet, Emery thought she’s approached by a local alien. Actually, Torksten was a former gladiator who’s been hiding out completely alone on this planet for years. Then, she followed him back to the cave he’s been living in and we got some amazingly awkward forced proximity/stuck in a cave-in goodness.
Torksten was very much the hermit-y mountain man. And he was one of the only alien guys I’ve read that didn’t have sex on the brain within moments of seeing our human lady.
Instead, the sexual tension came entirely from the forced proximity plus some hurt comfort and the whole vibe felt really unputdownable. They had a language barrier for a bit and some interesting culture clash. Without the usual alien instalust, Emery reflected on how she felt about her new reality more than your average abducted heroine. And Emery got under Torksten’s starchy loner skin in a way that made this HEA so dang sweet.
This series is going really well! I love that the humans are all Australian. And currently, there’s more human ladies than alien guys. So something is going to go down 👀
This book was straight up adorable. Who doesn’t love a grumpy alien with a mostly upbeat woman? Everything about this couple had me swooning.
Emery’s story is very different from Jessica’s and my heart broke for her. I only wish we could have delved more into why she was arrested but hopefully that will come out with further books. Torksten is the epitome of a grump but you can’t help but love him. I adore how Emery interprets each one of his scowls.
This world is expanding and the LWFC is slowly getting their bearings. I’m excited to see what else is in store for these characters.
This is such a cute grumpy/sunshine story. Torksten past makes his suspicious and he's been on his own for a long time. This doesn't stop Emery for following him and talking his ear off!

Rescued By The Alien Gladiator de Serie The Outlaws of Deep Space libro 2
Argumento:
This book was fantastic! I liked it even more than the first entry in the series. The MMC was such a scowling charmer, the FMC had guts, and together they made a wonderful team. In and outside of the bedroom :P Adding cute little Gracie into the mix further melted my heart!
There were many funny moments throughout the book, and I did the mistake of drinking tea while reading - I showered my e-reader more than once :D I burst out laughing a lot of times, I can't help but add a quote here. I spit tea all over my e-reader xD
A sweet and steamy read that will transport you to another planet! I'm heading back there with the third book in the series ASAP!
Just not good enough to continue. Unfortunately giving up on the series as well. I think the one book that impressed me by this author was a fluke :( I'm going to hold off rating because of that one book but it was only 2 stars for the bit k read 🤷♀️
I got the first book in this series on stuff your kindle day and pleasantly surprised that it turned to be a quick fun read and I may have binged the rest in a weekend. Many stuff your kindle days are big disappointments but love when you find a gem. Falls between 3.5 and 4 for me. I didn’t notice any editing issues and it hit exactly what I was in the mood for, a quick, fun, alien adventure with erotic twists. While no, it’s not an original overarching plot, I still found the characters their own and liked the mix of tough yet sweet MMCs. I liked how each story in the series is leading into the next and the mystery of the planet and mountain is strung between each book. I also like how the stories seem to start slow and very detailed oriented and then mid to 3/4 through all the action drops in. I think the length was refreshing, about 200 kindle pages and it was enough to develop the story and character without being rushed but also gives the reader something they don’t have to dig too deep into when they need an escape. I liked this couple more than the first book. Worth a read.
For me, a 3 star rating is GOOD! So, fair Carlotta, don't be discouraged by it.
This series is not the typical read for me. As I said in my Book 1 review I picked them up at the 2023 RWA writers conference to support an Indi author.
But they're great! A lot more sex than I usually get to read, but the build to that sex is well written.
Growing connections, self analysis/awareness, dealing with the alien environment - and seriously, abducted and now in outer space!
The male aliens' cultural norms with regard to women are very different to humans (Australians) and they do a great job of care and respect, comfort and protection, before the hot sex.
Sweet, yet sexy reads! This review fits with Book 3 - Loved by the Alien Warrior - too.
This book was more of a cozy romance (sort-of) rather than the more adventurous first one in the series, but it was just as good. The FMC is complex and brave while the MMC is a little emotionally withdrawn and grumpy, but they complement each other and were really enjoyable to read about.
I really love that the characters are all trapped on this planet together—it is a unique take on the alien romance genre and just really well-written.
So often I love the first book in a series and then feel let down by the rest of the books in the series since they don’t draw me into the story in the same way. But not this series!
Kind of meh on this one, sadly. The premise is good, but it's just too short to have much meaningful time for Emery and Torksten to develop a balanced relationship. Too much of their time is spent not understanding each other, and then we have the cute creature introduction and the Hov coming back and Emery nursing a broken wrist and the landslide and and and ... too much outside stuff happens! I get that Emeryel wanted to start over, but I think she underestimated the other women in her decision not to tell them about her past.
Awww I loved Emeryel and Torksten's story so much!
Wow,I can't believe after being abducted, taken into deep space, then having crashed on an uninhabited planet, for Emery to have found her one perfect alien mate who understands her better than her human companions. I really enjoyed reading Torksten and Emeryel's so much more than I would have first thought, now I can't wait to see the other girls get their HEA!
I had a feeling he would turn up, and he did! I know this is only book 2, but if you read the ones from the Hov Arena, you know who Torksten is, and if you are like me, wondered when he would turn back up. I know from the book count that everyone is getting HEAs but I can't wait to dive into them all and to see when the Gladiators and their mate turn up.
This author has done it again. The second in this series was just as good at the first. Our second adventurer finds more life on this alien planet and man, he brings the goods. Tall dark and brooding and handy with an axe.
Aw! I’m really enjoying this series. The aliens are such sweethearts. It was hilarious and sweet. My favorite part was Emery realizing she had been calling her alien the ‘F’ word thinking it was his name.
Emery and Torksten have a rocky beginning especially since they cannot understand each other. Then the Hov come and create a landslide. And they become trapped. Enjoy
I loved everything from how grumpy he was to her sunshine self. Okay so I have a weakness for grumpy x sunshine, but this was cute, and it made me happy.
This was so much better than the 1st book. The spicy sences were so so good, there was more sustenance to the pairs feeling towards each other and the MCs were interesting.
Torksten is by far my favorite alien in this series (so far). He and Emery do not have the smoothest of introductions, but their friendship grows. Torksten refuses to hunt the animals on the planet and instead relies on vegetation to survive. Admirable given his background as an enslaved gladiator for the Hov. Who, by the way, sound disgusting. All in all, their story was fun to read. Fast enough pace that it didn't drag, but not so quick that their interactions felt completely forced.
I read the first book, then immediately bought this one. I enjoyed the two characters finding their way despite the language barriers and challenges they faced.
Emery was stubborn and determined to help her fellow abductees and believed Torksten could help her. Torksten was a traumatised former gladiator who believed he could not trust anyone, especially this alien woman who unsettled him.
Their story was cute and easy to read. Torksten desperately wanted Emery but was terrified he would be dragged back into his former, and horrible, life. Despite this he is unable to fight his feeling and ends up adoring his little human mate. Emery finds her bravery and self-confidence with Torksten’s support.
I found the story also finished too abruptly as did the first book. I would have liked a more rounded ending but appreciate that it does help create interest in the next book. Which I pre-ordered and read the day it came out. So goal achieved.
