The Calming Thunder is a devotional. Its chapters cover a wide range of Biblical themes. There are theologcial chapters as well as practical life chapters. There is an accompanying poem for each chapter. It is a book for the lay person rather than the ivory tower. In other words, it is not scholary, but for the common folk (of which the author considers himself). The chapters are small so they can be read in one sitting.
