Wonderful to hear from Mr. Staub
Throughout his years, Rusty Staub remained a true icons in New York City baseball lore. Years after his death, it’s still great to pick up a now-digital book of him about people’s faces in the history of the Mets. He surely would have updated his list today to include the likes of Pete Alonso and Jacob deGrom, but even if the book is mostly not about himself, La Grande Orange is still wonderful to hear from and reconnect with after all these years. And he still writes as if he’s in the same room talking baseball to you.
