Alyssa Mayer’s scent is intriguing. It’s sweet, sensual and ignites Drew’s blood like nothing before. His body burns for her, his mind is occupied with thoughts of her, meaning only one thing. She’s his fated mate.
The problem? He doesn’t recognize her from a local pack, nor any pack he’s ever smelled before. Is she human? She is his fated mate, but if she’s human will he dare to break the species barrier? It wouldn’t be the first time a wolf shifter mated with a human, but such a bonding brings its own mess of troubles, and that’s before considering a neighbouring alpha wants Drew to agree to an arranged mating.
After spending her youth drifting from one foster home to the next and spending her adolescent and adult life homeless and alone, Alyssa wonders how long she’ll be able to stay in the small town. She can’t risk anyone discovering her secret. All she wants to do is paint and find a forever home, but as an oddity, a freak of nature, she knows that can never be, no matter how much she’d like to stay.
When she meets Drew, her instinct tells her to run, but for the first time she might just have a reason to stay, but pack pressures and hidden foes are threatening to keep them apart.
Romance author Cameron Allie grew up in a small town north of Toronto. As a child she loved stories, and after reading her first romance novel at age fifteen her dreams of writing became singularly focused on the love story. She is currently living in Ontario with her husband, and with her cat, who is constantly trying to interrupt the writing process.
3.4 stars. Kinda boring shallow read. Sort of good re: the woman is powerful enough to take care of herself but also, the guy is still overbearing and protective. The romance didn’t feel very fun to me.
He runs a grilling company and all she bought for groceries is peanut butter sandwiches and pasta salad. We're getting Midwest Fancy over here!
💠Average smut 💠Average romance (if we should even call it that, it's instalove fated mates) 💠Average shifter politics/lore
I found it interesting that she was a foster care kid with absolutely no idea how werewolves worked and had to figure it out on her own. But you only get about half a chapter of that and the rest of the story is her being flighty or argumentative. It would have been neat to show more of her perspective on what she thinks is going on with her body. Although this is a short story that I got for free on Amazon, it's still better than a lot of the other free stuff out there
A quick and easy shifter read. I liked how Alyssa’s “secret” was revealed pretty early on and I also liked how we knew who the main villain was immediately, I do wish we got more background on him though - who was he and why did he want Alyssa? As for Drew and Alyssa themselves, they were okay. I liked Alyssa a bit more than Drew. Their relationship was insta lust and then the love grew as their relationship developed more. I do wish Alyssa's back story was delved a bit deeper into, for instance I wish they at least tried to find where she came from. There were a few grammar issues but nothing too bad.
A quick and fun read, with twists and turns that will have you practically yelling at the pages at times.
This fast-paced, quick read doesn't skimp on the details or get caught up on unimportant things. Cameron builds a world in your mind and easily sets roots for further books enough to entice you back to this wonderful little world.
If you're looking for a little insta-love the heroin can't help but try and resist, a hero who will unalive anyone who threatens his family, and a little danger to sweeten the deal, then definitely give this gem a try!
This is my first book from Cameron Allie and it won't be my last. From the first page I fell in love with Drew and Alyssa and their love story and was fully invested in the story from the start. This is a face-paced shifter romance with fated mates, small towns and lots of spice! My favorite kind of shifter romance. This was easy to read with a well thought out plot and wonderful characters, including side characters, that I want to know more about!!
i loved this book. it was a quick and easy read with a well written plot. i enjoyed the female mc backstory althought i hoped she get more answers about her past. the male mc was great as well. im normally not a fan of insta love but since they are shifters and have fated mates, it makes sense as it is there bond that is driving them. i was gifted this book by author and my opinions are my own. i look forward to reading more from her.
In the first chapter we meet the Female Shifter that knows nothing about shifters, runs away the first time she sees one, then politely turns down a known creepy stalker before returning to her broken into apartment and humping the aforementioned shifter. Duh. No.and that's just the first night. This girl is TSTL.
This started off having my whole attention but about halfway through it started slipping. It was still an enjoyable read but the second half just isn’t as strong as the first half. The dialogue faltered which got to me the most. At times it was good and other times it bordered on adolescent. But there’s potential so I’ll check out book 2 when it drops to see.
I love the FMC in this book, she is so strong willed and just a strong person. I appreciated that all the questions was a chance at better insite into the shifter dynamic. The way that Drew makes sure she is safe and taken care of no matter what makes you swoon for him. Over all throughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be recommending it. Can't wait to read Callums story next!!
I enjoyed this book. This is a nice shorter shifter romance that is good for beginners to this genre! The way the author explains wolf pack dynamics and shifter dynamics was really nice for those who haven't read wolf shifter romances. Drew is the ultimate alpha lover! I would have liked to learn more about Alyssa and maybe we will in future books. Looking forward to book 2.
I found this to be a very ensnaring read! Impossible to put down! The main characters are very compelling and there is a tangible chemistry between them. I can't wait to read the next books in the series!
This was such a fun read. Its very well paced for being a short story as well. It has conflict, action, and determination. A strong willed female lead. A happily ever after. I love it and I think it was a well rounded story!
here I felt a little less connection with the main characters. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a shifter romance. Reads well and quickly. but a bit too slow for my taste But definitely recommend it if you are in to slow burn!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a stand alone within a series. Wolf shifters, fated mates, she knew she was a wolf but didn't know others existed like her, Found family, stalker and HEA. Was a wonderful quick read with lots of feels.
Amazing book. The first book of the Pack Trouble series. Fast paced, page turner, strong characters, families, friends and true love. What more could you ask for?
This story was very intriguing and keeps you on your toes! I hope we get to see more of Callum and get to know some more details of everything going on in all of the packs!
This book was so good!! Short but very spicy and was decently fast paced! I love how dominating Drew is and I want to read more about his beta Callum lol
I love a good found family romance! Drew and Alyssa’s story is a sweet escape to fantasy land for a few hours. Readable in an evening, would definitely recommend curling up on the couch and tucking in for an enchanting read. Loved it!
