a great book..depicts how tough its to stand up for what you think is right..and even how tougher its to make a place for you..Kiran Bedi is awesome human being..a women of substance..
Will come to know how our politician works autocratically using buerocrates. I am having very deep regrett that the first IPS have to bear too much her in life to get the things done and all the time she try to do the thing good this people thrown out of track.
I selected this book assuming it to be an Autobiography but it was a biography but no hard feelings as it is crisp and covers all that one has to know about Kiran Bedi. The initial days of her life was as expected to be with people against girls given importance for education but her parents did not bother about the hearsay and educated all their daughters. The best trait seen in Kiran is her ability to adapt to the situation she is put in, she has since childhood shown to not only adjust but to excel in such situations. As a child she was not only good in studies but she and her sister were champion tennis players. Kiran has been national and asian tennis champion.(I was not aware of this) Overcoming all hardships she became the first female to join IPS a great achievement in itself. The book till chapter 10 is more of who she is as a person and a quick brief look at her major phases in her life. Chapter 11 onwards we look at the detailed junctions that punctuated her life, starting with the Lawyers strike (Strictly men showing their power against the rise of a woman), the Mizoram posting, Delhi traffic office, the Tihar jail makeover, her work apart from policing, her work as part of the UN force...and all these she went through with all problems transfers and personal issues. Kiran is truly a big inspiration and much loved and followed personality Overall the book sticks more to her police life based on media reports and what people involved with her work life. Her personal life is not covered in detail only mentioned in situations where she had to take leaves or transfers for attending to her family. Written in a unbiased way the book is a good read and gives a clear image of Kiran Bedi not sure what extra is there in her autobiography
