Back in her hometown for summer after college, Jenna is determined to make her visual design company thrive, even in the face of her parents' skepticism. Amidst hustling for clients and re-living the glory days with her best friend, she crosses paths with Jensen. Could he be the missing piece she's been searching for?
Jensen is hot, easy and all in.
Yet, there's Oliver, she can't stop thinking about him. The boy from the bowling alley counter has sparked an unexpected curiosity within her. As Jenna navigates this whirlwind of emotions, she'll have to choose between the comfort of familiarity and the allure of the unknown.
I beta read this and was so happy to do so! This was such a great read and I really flew through it! The romance in this was swoon worthy and I loved the bowling alley as the setting for this book I thought it was so unique!
I really enjoyed it until the end. The story line was good and was to be expected but I didn’t expect anything more I read it for a quick and easy read which it was and almost gave it 4 stars until I read the last 20 minutes of the book. I’m not a big fan of when the girl randomly calls it off bc she randomly got the impression that the guy didn’t care especially when it’s so obvious they did especially with Oliver just to have a tragedy bring them back together instantly :/

3.5 stars— another free book so took a chance on it! Cute story line but very predictable. Nothing thought provoking but would be a good read in between something heavier.
2.5 stars. The breakup was stupid. Her relationship with Jenson was stupid. She was also blind to everything around her, how could she not have seen who he was and put two and two together!
one of the first summer reads for me & i was digging the whole bowling alley storyline 🫡 it started off a lil slow & the writing can be quite telling but i managed to look pass it towards the middle ☺️
oliver is GREAT & the best part honestly, he made friends to lovers so fun & realistically many would LOVE to have a relationship progress like this 🥹🩷 i admire & respect his feelings !! i really enjoyed knowing him.
i just wished jenna can stop getting caught up w herself (ironic) but it got in the way more than i liked 💆🏻♀️ if she was my friend i’ll need patience. she can be relatable & it’s nice to see her find a comfort zone finally…
Jenna’s home for the summer, trying to turn her little visual-design hustle into a real business… even if her parents aren’t exactly cheering her on. Between chasing clients and laughing her way through old memories with her bestie, two guys crash into her world:
🔥 Jensen — hot, easy, all-in, and basically the definition of “summer fling energy.”
🎳 Oliver — the cute bowling-alley counter guy she cannot get off her mind no matter how hard she tries.
As the emotions swirl, Jenna has to figure out what she really wants: the comfort of what’s right in front of her… or the spark that’s pulling her somewhere new.
A messy, summery love triangle with just enough drama to keep you flipping pag
i knew it would be a light read from the cover, and i honestly think this got me out of my reading slump. however so many of Jenna's acts were questionable. her not seeing Jensen's red flags drove me crazy. and also the last 20-30 mins of reading i was pissed off. wdym you broke up with Oliver bc you thought he "didn't feel the same". bro have we been reading the same book?? he was head over heels, but bc he wanted to travel to make money, he didn't love you. right, right. and also the little Olivia said all those words while being half-awake and a child? bro. oh and the amount of times "muscles, arm and back" were mentioned ugh

This was such a quick, fun read! Jenna’s life is filled with a lot of uncertainty the summer after graduating from college, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying riding the rollercoaster of emotions with her through each success or failure in her career and her relationships. The banter was adorable, the pacing kept me flipping pages, and overall it was super cute! I will definitely be picking up Aja’s future books 😁
What I love about this book is the characters were so relatable. From the beginning I was drawn in. I was fully invested in Jenna’s journey with life and etc. I loved the growth from Jenna. I definitely wouldn’t change a thing about this book. The romance that was formed was beautiful. I was feeling all kinds of emotions reading this ( in good way). I couldn’t put the book down even if I tried lol. The ending was so good!!
This book is sweet and cute! There were a few moments I didn’t love and a few that be let disjointed for me and needed more back story. Like Jenna and her mom and their relationship shift didn’t feel authentic or realistic. It felt like it needed more time to work through.
Jenna and Oliver were sweet together but their disagreement didn’t feel realistic or genuine or like it matched the rest of their relationship.
i must admit, if i was me 4 years ago i would've absolutely loved this book. but unfortunately im me now, and kinda found it boring. yea it was cute, but oliver is kinda just weird??? and main girl (who's name i forget) was just kinda bland. it was super SUPER predictable, and they acted like high schoolers, till you got a random reminder that they were adults. but at the end of the day cutesie romance and it was a fun airport read.
This was such a sweet romance novel, I wish it was the romance novels I was reading in my late teens. The main character Jenna is navigating career, family, self worth, and romantic love. I recommend this book for young adults in that same stage of life 17-24 and for anyone who needs to be reminded they have nothing to prove!
I loved this book. It drew me in from the beginning and literally finished it in one day! I. Love how real everything was. So many people have those same hard emotions and thoughts and it was nice to see them displayed but also how they can be overcome. Cutest love story.
This story is just right in the middle for me. I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t love it. Jenna just graduated and is trying to make a name for herself with graphic design while also starting to date. The first break up made perfect sense but the second one was stupid imo. It just wasn’t needed. While this book is so so it was nice for a light read.
Plot: Jenna and her friends have been going to the same bowling alley every summer since they were in high school. After graduating from college, she and her best friend decide to spend one last summer at home, before venturing into the world like big kids do. Their first night back, Jenna is approached by a harassing man. Thankfully, the cute boy working the counter intervenes. After thanking him the next day, an unlikely friendship develops. After a dating app brings a boyfriend into the picture, she is finally feeling fulfilled. After some incidents, she finally realizes what she wants. How will her life change? Will her parents accept her life? Will she find the happiness she has been looking for?
What I liked: I loved Oliver. He was such a sweetheart. He was so respectful of Jenna and made sure she was safe at all times.
What I didn’t like: Jensen. He was the worst. Also, her parents sucked for pushing their own agenda on Jenna. Also, for thinking Jensen was hot crap just because he looked pretty. I also hated that it took Olivia getting hurt to bring them back together.
Swearing: none
Physical intimacy level: closed door
Star rating: 4 stars
Trope: second chance romance (kinda), friends to lovers, forced proximity
I found this author on a Facebook page I'm on and let me tell you when they posted that they needed a beta reader I am glad I jumped on it...
Jenna has just graduated college and is trying to build her business while also trying to please everyone around her. She gets tangled in feelings for these two completely different guys and has some hard choices to make.
Oliver has had a tough road and is just out there making the best out of it all.
The story is a clean romance and it was wonderful reading how much these characters grew in the span of one summer.
I actually loved this book a lot! The summer and bowling alley aspect is adorable and the tropes in this book are top tier! I loved Oliver and Jenna so much!! 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
"'Jenna, I love you. Unconditionally and always. You're done trying to prove yourself. You never have to prove yourself to me.'"

This book was overall very cute!! The reasons why I didn’t give to a five well, the last couple chapters didn’t make me happy at all and the plot decision felt weird to me but it was a cute read despite some of the problems I had with it

This is the perfect quick read, romance novel. You’ll laugh, be surprised and fall in love alongside the characters. I have my fingers crossed for a sequel. 🤞🏼 (The sign of any great story!)
Great summer time break read. Fun, light story for those looking for a little romance, but want to finish the story before they have to go back to work and taking care of kids.
I don’t get why this book isn’t as famous as others??? I loved it and even tho Jenna had me on my nerves some times, she was relatable too. Amazing book.
