Dillon I knew she was trouble from the moment I hired her. I had a feeling this wouldn't go well. And I don't mean well for her. I mean for me. I'm totally smitten with the sassy, confident college graduate...which is the last thing I need with a looming divorce.
Raquel I should be focusing on the work, and the clients...and him. Unfortunately, that's part of my job too as executive assistant. Focusing on his needs. I came here to do more than that though. This was the perfect opportunity to get my foot in the door, so I can build my portfolio, and move up...even surpass him!
And while I refuse to be one of those women sleeping their way to the top, the way this man pushes me, sees me, challenges me makes me feel all kinds of powerful...and sexy. *sigh* ...I so shouldn't want my boss like this...
*This is a short and steamy standalone read. No cheating, drama, or cliffhangers involved. The Older Is Better series can be read in any order you desire. A happily-ever-after guaranteed every time!
Dillon Parker is going through a very nasty divorce with a vicious, cheating, narcissist wife who wants to force him to give her every dime he owns… for the two boys, of course. On top of that stress, he needs to hire a new Executive Assistant to replace his long-time one who would be greatly missed.
Raquel Richardson is well-prepared for her interview and, even though Dillon thinks he should choose the other applicant, he likes her work ethic and enthusiasm. She meets every challenge and makes it difficult for him to avoid feelings for her. He takes her downstairs for dinner to apologize for ignoring her all day. Returning to the office to get the phone she left on her desk, she drops her sweater. They reach down to get it and bump heads and, before she knows what’s happening, he is kissing her. He tells her he will look for another position to transfer her to, but she doesn’t want this to end. But when he finds his wife waiting in his office the next day to argue again for more money in the divorce, will Raquel feel he has misled her? She didn’t know he was married. Has it all been a lie?
Dillion is floored with his first contact of the woman interviewing to be his assistant. Raquel is a nervous mess and is thrilled when Dillion offers her the position as his assistant. As they work together the feelings between them build but he is still married to his wife and when she comes to his office announcing herself as just that, Raquel is disappointed in Dillion because she believes he has been leading her on. Will this misunderstanding put an ending to what was becoming Dillion's second chance for happiness? This story had me all caught up in their drama cheering for them to get their chance for happiness!

She applies for an assistant job which is below what she is qualified for since she is a "numbers" type of girl. Dillion knew better than to hire her for the job, he is still trying to get the divorced finalized. They have an instant attraction. Wonderful characters and a very easy read.
Dillon and Raquel Dillon owns a bank called Bells Largo and he desperately needs a secretary. Raquel is looking for work and is also desperate to find one. He interviews her and there is instant attraction. Since this is a novella I can’t give too much away. You would have to read it.
