Dirty Sweet Duet #1-2

Dirty Sweet Duet

Rate this book
Includes Sweet Liar and Sweet Fate.

British ad exec Dylan Locke isn't looking for love. He isn't looking for fate. He's definitely not looking for Audrey Lind. She's pretty, far too young, and overly romantic--in short, exhausting.

But when the girl, young enough to be his daughter, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested. In her body, in her innocence, in her philosophy.

In the kind of kismet that starts with kisses.

But Audrey isn't looking for love either--she's looking for lessons, and she's certain Dylan knows everything she needs to learn.

If he agrees to play the teacher can he keep his heart?

Of course he can.

Then again, he might be lying.

Positively dreamy. Audrey and Dylan are clearly meant to be, even if he is 19 years older than her and had given up on love after a brutal divorce and another crushing life event I won't spoil. Luckily Audrey is tenacious and convincing. This was surprisingly well written and filled with fun and angst. Ms. Paige has a new fan.

SWEET LIAR is the first instalment in Laurelin Paige’s contemporary adult DIRTY SWEET erotic, romance series focusing on forty-two year old, businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-three year old, college student Audrey Lind. The DIRTY SWEET series is a spin-off from the author’s Dirty Games Duet, and some of the events in Sweet Liar run parallel to, and cross over with some of the events in the Dirty Games Duet. Audrey is Sabrina Lind’s younger sister.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Audrey and Dylan) SWEET LIAR follows the May-December, relationship between forty-two year old, businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-three year old, college student Audrey Lind. Dylan’s time in the USA comes with an expiry date but time spent with Audrey Lind gives him pause for the future. Audrey’s attraction to Dylan Locke is immediate and intense but what our heroine lacks in experience she makes up for with seduction and fun. Hoping to gain the sexual experience she so desperately wants, Audrey makes Dylan an offer he cannot refuse. What ensues is the building sexual relationship between Audrey and Dylan as Dylan shows Audrey the art of ‘sex’, and the fall-out as their time together comes to a close.

SWEET LIAR is a quick read; an erotic story between an older, experienced man and a younger woman whose enthusiasm is matched by her need to learn. Several of the Dirty Games Duet characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity including Audrey’s sister Sabrina Lindt, as well as Donovan Kincaid and Weston King. The premise is inviting; the characters are fun and flirty; the romance is erotic, seductive and intense but saying that I didn’t feel the palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple-there was limited time to build a romantic relationship and therefore it felt more carnal and businesslike than anything else.

•••••••

SWEET FATE is the second instalment and conclusion to Laurelin Paige’s contemporary, adult DIRTY SWEET erotic, romance duology focusing on forty-four year old, billionaire businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-four year old, art graduate Audrey Lind. The DIRTY SWEET series is a spin-off from the author’s Dirty Games Duet. Audrey is Sabrina Lind’s younger sister, and Dylan is partners in Reach Inc.

NOTE: SWEET FATE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up one year after the events of book one Sweet Liar.

Told from first person point of view (Dylan Locke) with an epilogue from Audrey, SWEET FATE picks up one year after the events of book one in which forty-three year old, billionaire businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-three year old, art graduate Audrey Lind had a torrid one week affair that ended with Dylan Locke returning to his home and business in England, and Audrey returning to college to finisher her degree. Fast forward one year wherein Dylan will come face to face with the woman he loves when she accepts an intern position at the National Gallery of London. Continuing to struggle with their age difference, and his attraction and need for Audrey Lind, Dylan refuses to acknowledge the elephant in the room, as he stands by the side lines when Audrey attempts to locate the ‘one’. Agreeing to a friends with benefits relationship, Dylan continues to fall for the woman he will eventually push out of his life. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dylan and Audrey, and the potential fall-out as Dylan is unable to admit his love for our story line heroine.

Dylan Locke doesn’t do relationships, in fact, he hasn’t been with anyone else since he walked away for Audrey Lind. Audrey Lind has a bubbly and vivacious personality but has never stopped loving our story line hero.

The relationship between Audrey and Dylan is one of instant chemistry but a highly sexual relationship wherein their mutual attraction is tempered by Dylan’s inability to trust or move on. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word in a romance story line.

The secondary and supporting characters include several of the Dirty Games Duet characters :Audrey’s sister Sabrina Lindt and Donovan Kincaid; Weston and Elizabeth King; Nate and Trish; sales division manager Amy; Dylan’s son Aaron, and his ex-wife Ellen Wallace; and Audrey’s boss Jana Spruce.

SWEET FATE is a story of family, friendship, perseverance and love. The premise is playful, emotional and engaging; the romance is hot and heavy; the characters are sassy, colorful and captivating.

This book was really good. Interesting and unique. This story is about Audrey and Dylan, they have a huge age difference, about 20 years. Dylan could be Audrey's father. This made the story interesting for me, I haven't read a story like this, and I really liked it! They were so different but also so fitting for each other.
Dylan was divorced and didn't want a serious relationship especially with a young woman like Audrey. But somehow Dylan fell under Audrey's spell, he fought against it but finally couldn't resist her.
Audrey was the seducer, she was attracted to Dylan and wanted him for sex only (or she said). She always fell head over heals in love in the past, and she only had sex with her serious boyfriends. She wanted to change this because with her exes she didn't have a good time in the bedroom. So she wanted Dylan to teach her. Could she resist to fall in love with an older man, who was perfect in the bedroom? Sometimes she was so clingy but because of this Dylan couldn't resist her.
I loved that the story was written in alternate point of views, because we could see how they were thinking about their age difference and about their attraction. I really liked that Dylan had a 13 years-old son, I loved how he cared about him and that he could speak about him with Audrey.
It was a quick read, a hot short story. I'm so curious what will happen with this couple! 4.5*
I loved this book! I said about Sweet Liar that I loved it because it was written in alternate point of views. Sweet Fate on the other hand was written in Dylan's point of view and it was perfect. I really fell in love with him, I loved reading his thoughts.
After finishing Sweet Liar I was curious how their story will end. I loved them in this book, which in my opinion was better than the first one. It was more interesting for me.
I can't say any negative about the book, I enjoyed reading it. It was exciting, hot and romantic.
Audrey and Dylan met again in London a few months later after they seperated. They became friends but both of them wanted more. First they were really just friends and I understood why: Dylan and Audrey wanted different things. Audrey wanted family and babies, and Dylan because he was 20 years older than her, he was over these days when he wanted to start a family. And I understood him too. But things can change, aren't they?
I loved that Audrey had a positive affect on Dylan, he changed a lot, he became a better man. I think both of them loved each other from the beginning but they didn't dare admit it.
And the ending was perfect! I fell in love with this couple!
It's a unique romantic story and I loved it! I recommend this book and this series to every Laurelin Paige fan and everyone who love angsty, hot, romantic love stories! 5*

Literally the whole duet was him pining after her and coming up with every reason to push her away and not be with her. He even thought she was using him for his money. Even though she never asked for any; She specifically asked him NOT to.

Her not giving up on chasing him was kind of cringe and really pathetic of her. He made it pretty clear he didn't want her to contact him or be around her.

There was no connection between the characters. I thought for sure in book 1 there would be something more than sexual tension but there wasn't. Book 2 was all from his POV and it was just so ridiculous reading a whole book of him bitching and absolutely nothing changing. Even when he realized he loved her ... STILL nothing changed. I ended up jut starting to skim over everything else except for their talking parts because I lost interest and gotten soo bored.

And after everything that happened she still shows up for him in another country for his son. Like Damn. Last time ya'll talked he said some shit to you about growing up and getting over the fact that her ideals about love were never going to happen and also she had found out about the date with her boss. So needless to say, the last time they talked, there was a lot of pain, broken heart, an tears ... mostly on her end because he obviously doesn't feel lol
The last place she should've been was flying across the world to be with him while he goes through the emotional turmoil about his son (in which he is still deciding to push her away that he was not going to love anyone ). But she showed up. She gave him everything and in return she got good sec.

I enjoyed the ending of the book. The rest of it was just bull crap nonsense

Breathtakingly beautiful

Dylan and Audrey the most unlikely pairing and yet the most perfectly well matched. I met Dylan a few books back but I never saw him like this (I was too and still am obsessed with Donovan) getting to know him in his own world was not wad I expected but darn it if it wasn't just the best story!! Audrey is truly a breath of fresh air they made me look at my life so differently. I am now equally obsessed with Dylan oh my!!!

Every time I read this story it's just as fascinating and riveting as the very first time I read it. Dylan and Audrey's story is filled with indecision, angst, intimacy and unbridled passion. Seriously, I couldn't put this book down; one of my all-time favorite reads! Excellent Read that you keep replaying in your head!!!!!

So throughly enjoyed this story. A dinner engagement was how Dylan and Audrey met. Ye offered her a ride home in his car and with a mutual attraction they are soon lip locked. Donovan gets involved and Audrey gets a job in London, where she and Dylan meet up again.

This one is nicely different from most of the romance I read, although perhaps that's because I normally don't go in for age-gap themes. Well-written even if H's problem gets a bit hard to believe. Also, the (video) phone sex scene was an unexpected surprise, and quite hot!

Not my fave. I like a good age gap romance but felt the MMC was OTT ridiculous with his push/pull and in the end I was skimming and at times felt like the FMC was a bit of a naive doormat. It was a shame as it had some good potential. 2 stars

I was looking for a spicy age-gap romance and this definitely delivered. I wasn’t expecting it to be so angsty but the longing was *chefs kiss*. Of course, the spice itself was great and although I hated how Audrey texts, (ur, u) I didn’t hate her as an FMC.

Dirty Sweet Duet

I loved book three! I always love an age gap love story, and this one didn’t disappoint. He is much older, and doesn’t think he can love again. She fell for him the moment they met. It’s a sweet love story!

Not bad at all.

I liked how Dylan wasn't wanting to love anyone after being hurt so badly by his ex wife. But when he did fall in love again he fell hard.

Audrey & Dylan
⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was one of my first big Age Gap romance and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Dylan has been burned once and has closed himself off from emotional attachments. His life consists of his son and his work, he doesn't have time or desire to add more into his life. That is until a young and full of life Audrey appears in his life determined to bring him joy.

Audrey is young and even with a rough childhood hasn't let the negativity of life get to her. She's instantly attracted to Dylan and doesn't hide it at all. She just has to convince him that the idea of them is a good idea.

I was honestly shocked how against Dylan was to being with Audrey. Especially since he had also been with a woman older than himself, but he was cheated on said woman. Dylan just needed the extra push and Audrey was there to push him😅.

I loved how mature, yet full of life Audrey was; the perfect sunshine to Dylan's grumpy🌞 Audrey really did show Dylan how to live life happy again. Dylan became a source of strength for Audrey.

Even with the attraction being instant, it took years for their relationship to develop and I really appreciated that.
