BLURB Friday night at Mojo's Mandy confides to her friend, Chelsea that her movie-star-good-looks boyfriend never came home last night. Chelsea, a fixture behind the bar at Mojo's Pub, is in a quandary. She knows something her favorite customer, Amanda Carter, doesn't, but wishes she didn't, Eddy's been stepping out on her. Hell, he even asked Chelsea out! But when he brings his latest fling into Mojo-s, flaunting his infidelity to Chelsea, she decides enough, it's time to tell Mandy the truth. EXCERPT I stretched my arms, then rubbed the back of my neck, "Anybody here?" I asked urgently and rather loud. "Yes." I heard chair legs scrape across the floor, apparently from a person rising. Then footfalls padded across the hard surfaced slab floor, growing louder as they approached. "Oh. Hi Mandy. You're awake. What's up?" Chelsea stood at the doorway looking fresh, as if she'd been up for hours. "I didn't wake you, did I?" I yawned. "Heavens no." She was wearing a peach colored tee shirt and jeans. "Been up long?" "About four hours." "What time is it anyway?" "It's almost two-thirty." "So the clock was right. Where were you?" "I was in the kitchen. I took a break from painting, fixed myself a cup of coffee and I was reading USA Today." "Painting?" "Yeah, I've been doing some decorating." "Oh I gotcha. Mmm, Coffee sounds wonderful. Is that what I smell?" "Uh, huh. Chocolate Macadamia, Want some?" "I'd die for some. A couple aspirins too if you have them." "Sure. Do you want me to bring it to you?" "No, I'll come out there. I have some questions anyway." "Great. Let me grab a robe for you." She went to the closet and handed a light cotton robe to me. I followed Chelsea. "I want to talk to you about Eddy. I've been thinking about what you said and after what happened last night. . . well, I just need to talk with you."
