Wow, what an inspiring woman. Edith Stein was definitely ahead of her time. She was so independent, intellectual, and hard-working - moving her way up as one of the top philosophers (specializing in phenomenology)of her time. However, this young Jewish girl felt her life was lacking something and found that something in the Catholic church. Her journey is an inspiring one which teaches us what a true Christian should be. Edith Stein, now Sister Teresa Benedicta suffers the death of a martyr during WWII. As a Jewish decedent she was sent to a concentration camp where she later died.

Excellent book so far. I am impressed by how intelligent and humble Edith Stein was.
