Bright Lights…

Harlow Martin is a rock star’s kid. She’s wanted to be a musician her whole life and at last, she and her band, Above Me, will be the opening act on chart topping mega-stars, Earthquakes upcoming US tour.

Miles Brown started Earthquakes straight out of high school, and after years of working his butt off, the band was headlining an arena tour. Multiple platinum albums, some music video awards, commercials, print ad work and a few movies had taken Miles from an unsure teen into a confident, charismatic man, absolutely certain of himself.

And then Harlow bounded back into his life. Though he’d grown up backstage with her when their dads had played festivals together, he’s not ready for the immediate sensual punch in the gut grown-up Harlow was. He’s absolutely captivated by her and though he knows it’s reckless, he can’t deny the temptation of her lips.

Rock and Roll…

Harlow is an independent, accomplished musician. Her confidence on stage is something she can put on like a dress. The tour has raised Above Me’s profile and sent them to the next level of success. Her relationship with Miles continues to deepen each day and as she gets to know him, falling for him is inevitable. He knows her, sees right to the heart of her and loved her for it. She knows what a gift that is. Even when it took work to keep her gorgeous, spoiled and caregiving alpha from rolling right into her life and taking over.

Miles thought he knew what love was, but once he finds it with Harlow, he can understand what a pale imitation he’d had before. He loves her fire and her poet’s soul. Loves the way she’s dedicated and loyal to her closest friends and family. Loves the way she trusts him and brings out the best in him. Even managed to love his bossiness.

When an old heartache is bruised anew and Harlow’s peace is threatened, Miles needs to walk a path between help and control, while vowing to protect her beautiful heart.

I didn't even realize that this author was writing the next gen of the Brown/Hurley, etc crew! They were some of my favorite books, so I was looking forward to this one. Overall I found the tone to be sweet, both Miles and Harlow were smitten with each other, both were trying to figure out the whole on tour, can I do this, more so Harlow, because sadly women are judged more harshly than men. Both of them had the same kind of background and could understand the struggles they were going through. I really loved that Harlow brought up issues she thought about and faced with Miles, it really got them talking and seeing if the relationship was something they wanted. And while the tone of this one overall was sweet, it was filled with some smoking hot love scenes. Even when Miles over stepped towards the end and Harlow had to re-think so much, the two of them talked about things, talked about Harlow needed boundaries and when she had them Miles needed to follow them. I was so happy with how this one ended, glad to see both of them to so excited to see each other again and continue to build something good and strong together.

On a side note, reading this book, made me want to go back and read the original series. Such a bad thing! lol

Move over Brody Brown, there is a new favorite comfort read. This book is everything I liked about the Brody/Elise book (Coming Undone, Brown Family #2) moved to the next generation. Loved, Loved Loved this book. If you like competence porn, consent, found family, and learning from your mistakes you should read this book. WARNING - Steam level is off the charts. Takes me back to the months after I bought my first Kindle back in 2009.

I wanted to love this book. The elements were there- I loved the Brown series and the Hurley series, and was happy to revisit. It's not that the book was bad, more like the main couple felt, undeveloped? The drama happened outside their relationship and didn't affect it much. And the main drama around Harlows relationship w her mother started out intriguing and then..dissolved. I dunno. If there are more books to come in this series I'll read them but this one was kinda meh.

Let me start by saying I loved the Brown series books. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the “next generation” type books I was excited to read this one as Adrian was one of my favorite in the Brown series.
This book was just ok. The beginning really drug for me. It just felt like it was missing something. The second half was better in my opinion.

Loved it!

Miles and Harlow...I absolutely loved this story. I loved reuniting with the Brown/Copeland/Sweet Holler Ranch folks..its been a while and Lauren did not disappoint.

Miles and Harlow are aware of each other given their famous fathers and aunt, but what he feels for her now is a grown up attraction to a woman he wants as his own. Watching their love grow and blossom was beautiful.

I loved how Miles helped and supported her through the difficulties with her mother. Sure, they stumbled a bit as they found their way, but there was no turmoil that they didn't navigate....together. Harlow and her band mates melted into the Crown clan wonderfully and allowed you believe that Miles and Harlow would truly have their HEA.

This was a great story. I could use a family tree with all of the siblings and cousins, but all in all, its great to go back these characters. I look forward to more reunions.

New Brown generation but same vibe

I will say it took me a bit to get into this book. I think it was because I just couldn’t picture Miles as an adult. Ha! As I powered on I became engulfed in this book. Miles, of course, was very much like his father Adrian with his laidback yet bossy personality. Harlow was a powerhouse and I loved her strong bad ass, yet vulnerable side. This relationship was low on silly angst while navigating new relationship hurdles. Of course their chemistry was electric and added so much heat to their relationship. The icing on the cake was having the Browns, Keenan-Copeland crew show up. They are like a big hug. Lauren Dane has a way with words that always sucks me into her stories and characters. I have withdrawals when I finish one of her books. I can’t wait to find out who gets the next book story.

love the next generation!

I really enjoyed this one. I’ve been a long time fan of the Brown Family in particular but also the Bainbridge and Hood River clans as well. Seeing the next generation living their adult lives is fun to see.

I also enjoyed the glimpse into the rockstar lifestyle.

If I had a criticism it would be that the digital version of the book I read could have used another edit. Not deal breaking but there were enough errors that it was noticeable .

Would this book stand alone? Probably. But it would definitely make you wonder about the various series that preceded it.

Another win for rockstar romance lovers. I accidentally read this one out of order. Oops. So I had a hard time remembering the history of all the characters and there are quite a few. The only reason why I marked this a 4 instead of 5 was based on the number of characters and the need to read too many books before this one. If I could, I would mark it 4.5. It's #4 in the Ink and Chrome Series. I'm looking forward to reading the first three books now. I do adore how the characters from previous series all come together.

GAH!! Miles is such a Brown. Loving alpha, artistic soul. I have missed this series. I loved the chemistry between all of the characters, Harlow is the perfect woman for Miles, sweet enough to be loved but strong enough to tell him to back off. As always, there's a great play on family dynamics and friends that serve as soul mates. I'm hoping this series grows because the cast of characters are amazing. Also, it's not all butterflies and rainbows. Just enough drama to have you on edge.

I liked the Brown Series and was excited to see that Lauren Dane created an offshoot of the Brown series featuring Miles Brown. I love to read about the characters after their HEA and learn about what else has happened in their lives. Unfortunately, this book was kind of a mixed bag for me. I can see the chemistry between Miles and Harlow but there just seemed to be something missing. The story did improve in the second half when all the Browns and Hurleys came to make an appearance.

There is something so magical about reentering the Brown Family world again! I adore all of these characters so much and love how well they love each other. Naturally, Harlow and Miles are the same way - both of them longing to care for each other and the people around them. Reckless was another wonderful addition. I can't wait to spend more time with the other kids in the next generation.

I eventually got into this, but I think it could have been tightened up. And, as someone who figures out everyone's ages, the change in relative ages of this younger generation really annoyed me.
