Nico is a hit man with a heart. Samantha was at the wrong place when a hit happened. Will love be enough to a hit man and a mob bosses stepdaughter or will these two people go to battle?

Nico’s wife was murder and he felt guilty because he wasn’t there to protect her. Apparently the current head of the mafia, Luigi, was the one who killed her while he was climbing the ladder. He wanted revenge no matter king it took.
Samatha was the stepdaughter if the head of the mafia. She can’t stand him but she tries to hold her tongue because of her mom.
It took 20 years later for Nico to find Luigi but while he waited he became a hired hit man. His targets are men who were not stand up citizens. He would research his targets and know their routine before making his hit. He followed Luigi for several months and learned him and his men. The night came, he killed Luigi. The thing he didn’t expect was that Samantha was there and saw his face. After he made her unconscious he decided to take her to his house and lock her up in his basement.
This book was really and kept me in the edge of my seat with every page. Although it wasn’t the typical mafia book that I had read in the past as it didn’t go into detail of the mafia except for what happens when the head of the family is killed.

So he does. But even though they have parted ways, their passion for each other pulls them back together again and again. But their enemies aren't finished with them yet.
What happens when Samantha comes under the eye of the new leader of her stepfather's mafia? And just why is there a crooked cop trying to pin her down? Will they both be able to come through the storm surrounding them unscathed?

Everything is place and goes as planned except for the stepdaughter of Luigi Barone. Samantha Barone was not supposed to be in the house at the time. Nico makes a split-second decision to take her with him. His beef was not with her. He does not kill innocent people. The more time Nico spends around Samantha the harder it is to remember she is indeed his prisoner and not a willing one at that. Captor or not Samantha finds herself attracted to this gorgeous angel-eyed quintessential bad boy. What a mess especially as more bodies accumulate as well as a dirty cop hot on the trail. This is a well written steamy forbidden love romance with captivating danger and suspense. All I can say is wow not the story I expected, but loved the ride that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Kelly Myers is a new to me author. I saw this book had mafia ties so I jumped at the chance to read it.
Nico can come off a cold, brooding and possibly crazy once you realize he talks to his dead wife and she talks back. Which that alone is the reason why he is seeking revenge from Barone. He killed his wife years ago and he has to pay for his sins. Nico doesn’t usually make mistakes during his hits however Samantha, Barone’s step daughter saw him commit the crime so now he must take her to figure out how to fix his mistake.
Samantha has no love lost for her step father…more like step monster. Yet it still shockers her to see him killed before her own eyes. When his killer kidnaps her she thinks her life is over. She definitely doesn’t expect to fall in love with this man.
As much as Nico tries to do right by Samantha, they are drawn together. Secrets come to light on both sides all the while trying to keep a dirty cop from taking Nico away from Samantha.

This is the 6th story in the Forbidden Love series and in this one we get to see how Nico gets his revenge for the loss of his wife 20 years ago only to come face to face with Samantha while he is getting that revenge taking her as his captive. Samantha puts up a fight each time she can letting Nico know she doesn’t want to be there. Nico is a Mafia hit man and he never takes out innocents but knows he can’t let her go. These two have feelings for one another and they become intimate and after sometime Nico becomes concerned and lets Samantha go. When trouble comes for Samantha, Nico is there to protect her at all cost. This is a great revenge to love story. When the protagonists of this story tell their children how they met… It would be something like this: you see children, the first time that mommy saw daddy was when daddy killed mommy's stepfather, and then kidnapped her and left her locked in a basement. But while mommy was captive, she fell in love with daddy, just like him. But mommy's stepfather was the head of a mafia family and daddy can't risk letting mommy go, but for love,in the end he does. In addition to the mobsters, Papi also had a crooked cop on his tail, who came close to ruining their parents' HEA. 😂😂😂

Will the hitman become my saviour?
For me this was a 5 star read. The storyline and plot for Nico & Samantha is what grabs your attention from the very 1st line until the last line. Nico & Samantha's start was definitely unconventional but soon developed into something that neither saw coming or expected. The desire raging between them is becoming too difficult to ignore & adds to the chaos that is already surrounding them. When you have people out trying to permanently silence you what chance do you have of a HEA?.

I really enjoyed this story. There is lots of action and adventure and intrigue as well as some spicy times. Samantha is strong and resourceful. Nico is a hitman with a heart. It doesn't take too long before they are falling for each other. He sets her loose and her step-father's successor sets his sights on her. She has to negotiate a very tricky situation and get out of it intact. This story has hitmen, mafia bad guys, a bad cop, loyal friends, a caring mother and lots of steaminess between Nico and Sam.

All the book sin the Forbidden Love series by Kelly Myers can be read as stand-alone books. I've only read a couple, but will be going back to read them all. And since they are available on KU, I can read for free. This is Nico and Samantha's story. When Nico's wife was murdered, he changed and now he can get his vengeance on the man that took her life. But he never expected to find Samantha. The characters are so well written, the storyline fast paced, full of action, drama, sizzle, and steam. A solid read that grabs you from beginning to end.

I enjoyed this story. I loved that Nico got rid of Samantha's step-father. His revenge was 20 years in the making. It was too bad that Samantha had to witness the hit. Nico ends up taking Samantha with him knowing he can't kill her. This story has revenge, mafia, danger, drama, crooked cops, suspense, romance and sizzling steam. I love that when danger came for Samantha, Nico was there to save her. Enjoyable story and would highly recommend.

Samantha and Nico's story was gripping and intense with a lot of taboo steam and love. Nico only wanted revenge but he got so much more when he took Samantha. Samanthe never wanted to go with Nico but she couldn't help falling for him. Even though Nico let Samantha go, fated decided to bring them back together so they can get their HEA.

Nico’s vengeance has an unexpected witness—the “victim’s” stepdaughter Sam. I was glad she didn’t just give in and go along in her captivity. She is small but mighty. She knows her faults. I love that Nico talks to Julia. I love Julia’s family. I like that some nitty gritty details were not glossed over.

The whole story between Samantha and Nico was full of ups downs, truths and revelations, sadness, anger and betrayal. I am telling you will be at the edge each page you read. It tool a miracle but they fought to be with each other. You are going to love this as much as I did. I was not able to put this down till the end and even at the end, I wanted more.

I truly enjoyed this book! This is a fast-paced story is chock-full of action, danger and twists I did not see coming! Nico has lived with guilt for twenty years... planning every aspect of his revenge... the only part he didn't plan... was Samantha. In spur-of-the-moment decision, he kidnapped her. Their magnetic attraction was red hot. This was a really great story with a perfect ending!

I haven’t been able to finish this one yet, but I’m loving it so far. The characters are blending so well together so far, and I’m loving the way the story is playing out, I can’t wait to finish this one and see how it ends. Great work so far.

Nico is an artist, owns a gallery and has a side job. samantha is a designer who's life is about to change drastically. Lots of intrigue, danger and some sexy on the side. All in all a very good book.

I just didn’t care any more about what happened to these characters. The writing at times was very odd and I found more than a few typos. It was enough to distract me from the story.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Sam but eventually she changed my mind. Loved the ending it was great how everyone came together as a family. Can't wait for Luke's story.

I loved the characters - all of them. Together they made a whole. Julia, the ghost, fitted in perfectly.
