I really enjoyed reading Incognito by Siobhan Davis. It wasn’t your basic rock star romance or your basic college romance. It squished the two together in a blender and made a wonderful mix of sweet, sexy, suspenseful and had a really good twist at the end that totally bamboozled me.
There were some wonderful characters, Dakota’s circle of friends, so different yet so caring and fun and the wonderful head of security Devin and his delightful family. There were some tense moments, and some moments when I cussed out the male protagonist but admittedly I have a soft spot for him. There were a healthy dose of people that, if this were a pantomime, we would hiss every time they got on stage.
I really did love the ending of Incognito and felt like I’d been taken on a fabulous ride. All in all this was a solidly paced, interesting, tense at times, romantic journey.

Incognito is one such story that kept me turning pages desperately wanting to see how the plot would unfold. I was saddened by Dakota’s loss and troubled family life which seeped into her brelationship
and enjoyed Shawn’s transformation from immature bad boy to adoring and protective boyfriend.
Shawn and Dakota’s relationship toed the insta-love line. It was intense and went through a series of ups and downs as they got to know one another. Overall though it was sweet, swoony and sexy.
And as an added bonus, Siobhan did a wonderful crossover with the main characters from Inseparable, another emotional and touching standalone by Davis. I enjoyed catching up with Devin and Ange and liked how Devin served as an older brother type figure for Shawn.
Incognito is a rock star standalone new adult romance by Siobhan Davis. It is and engaging read, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

This is the first time I’ve truly been disappointed in one of Siobhan Davis’ books. Sure, some of her books I’ve had some issues with, but I usually found them minor compared with all the awesome drama, conflicts and romance I got in bucketloads instead. In this case it just did not do I for me on any level.
I admit that it was kind of cool that this story played out in the same universe as inseparable and it was really nice to step into Devin and Ange’s lives again, to see them take part in this plot as well (although, why is it a stand alone? This could as well have been called Inseparable, book two). There is however a negative side of having both stories in the same world. Inseparable with all its heartbreak, eye-dripping drama, originality and beautiful and shocking storyline leaves a high quality bar, that this book sadly could not measure up to.
I genuinely felt that there was no unique or original thought or plot here. I found the book filled with overused clichés like the girls becoming besties from day one in college, protagonist not looking for relationship in the beginning, lazy insta-love, guy becoming interested in girl just for the fact that she is “not like anyone else” and not starstruck. That’s just to name a few. I have a whole list I wrote down. It’s just not the clichés either. The whole plot feels like I’ve already seen it before. In fact it is way to similar to some of Davis’ other books. It had the same aspects as the clueless ex still thinking he has a shot, a bitchy psychotic popular girl bullying the protagonist, overly profound dialogues, too much PDA and similar conflicts and endings where everything suddenly is all handy dandy, everyone is happy and everything works out.
Was it only me, or was Dakota almost a copy of Faye from the Kennedy Brothers? She had kind of the same - over-confident, preaching about honesty and taking no crap from anyone - kind of attitude. Her whole personality all typical Faye, but with the twist of being awkward (I can’t have been the only one finding it cringey that she went to an abandoned roof to dance her grief away at midnight. Sane people don’t do that. Not even in grief) and a bit too full of herself. Only she was allowed to make mistakes and that showed very clearly in her relationship with Shawn. She got mad at him for the most silly thing (e.g. misunderstanding a situation) and basically broke it off because of it. Twice (or trice technically). Instead of admitting she overreacted she expected him to reach out and apologize. It always had to be these big gestures as well. Otherwise it wasn’t good enough. Then she, the little hypocrite, goes and does the same thing and she doesn’t even acknowledge it nor does he get mad at her. The whole relationship felt very one sided with him always having to make it up to her, making the first move, reaching out, chasing her, confessing feelings. She had him wrapped around her pinky, dragging him along and could not for once met him halfway. When she found out the the threats Shawn was accosted to, she didn’t even consider or worry for his well-being. No, she got mad at him for putting her in “danger”. Excuse my French, but what a bitch!
For being somewhat of a pushover, I actually kind of liked Shawn. He acted like a decent guy under bad circumstances and made up for past mistakes in a natural, unforced way. That however was probably the only thing that felt realistic and natural. No one in this book could for one second have a normal dialogue or discussion. It was always profound, deep and meaningful. Declarations of understanding and love being the one most overused. Make it a rule to have more ordinary dialogues than profound ones, please. Because you won’t find ordinary people in real life talking like that. Especially all the time. The worst of the worst was the unrealistic antagonists. From the beginning they were described as clever. But how exactly? Because they were straight up amateurs in my eyes. It’s basic villain101 that you don’t identify yourself with names, and under no circumstances do you reveal your whole plan. Not only is it cliche. It’s the most dumb villains ever.
At last we have the huge plot-hole which I’ve come to call the Hannah Montana plot-hole. If you know the Disney show you probably know what I’m referring to already. It’s so ridiculously dumb to think that a wig and different colored contact lenses can make a person disappear and no one will know who he is. Like human kind has lost the ability to recognize a face as long as the hair and eyes are different. It’s unrealism to a stupid degree, because there is just no way, especially if you are the “hottest, sexiest, most-in-demand rock star” (an actual quote from the book). It doesn’t matter if you are a fan or not. As long as you’ve seen the person often enough (which you usually have if he really is that famous), you can put two and two together effing easy. Shawn even met a big fan several times and she couldn’t tell. Just the first week walking around campus around people, he would have been found out if it was real life. Just think if it was ... I don’t know, Justin Bieber or Brad Pitt, walking around a university with a wig on. Is there really anyone out there naive enough to think they would be undetected for months? What annoyed me the most was that they were afraid his singing voice would blow his cover. Not his FACE, but his voice. Need I really explain why his voice is highly unlikely the reason why he would be recognized?
Siobhan Davis really needs to change up her game, think over the plot and protagonists and antagonists. I have seen her write amazing unique and strong stories, one of the best being inseparable. So I know she can be and is an amazing author. She just really needs to find new ideas and originality so it won’t become this repetitive again.

Since my first Siobhan Davis read, she has been an author I will dive into the moment I get her next release on my Kindle. In other words, I’m a big fan. Incognito screamed out to me more than the average Siobhan Davis read, though, as rock star romances are some of my favourites. In fact, they’re probably my biggest weakness.
Unfortunately, I was moving house when this came through to my Kindle. I had wanted to dive straight into Incognito the first moment I could, yet I had to hold off until I was able to update my Kindle and was done with moving things around. It was a painful wait, especially when I could see other people were reading and enjoying this one, but it was worth the wait.
You see, once I started reading Incognito it quickly became another Siobhan Davis read that I had to complete in a single sitting. Once I started, I could not put it down. The story sucked me in and left me wanting more, leaving me turning pages at a rapid pace as I ignored the world around me.
All in all, Siobhan Davis has given us another winner.
If I’m being completely honest, of her first two books that are complete standalones, I loved Incognito so much more. Sure, Inseparable was an enjoyable read – yet it pales in comparison to Incognito. This may just be personal preference because Incognito is more in line with the storylines I like, but I’m fairly certain a lot of people are going to agree that Incognito is an even more powerful standalone than Inseparable.
Whilst I’m on the topic of Inseparable, before I go deep into this fan girl review, know you get a bit of cross over with this one. Did you want to know what happened to the Inseparable characters a few years down the line, did you want to know what comes next? Well, the characters appear in this one. You do not need to have read Inseparable to understand their role in this story, but it is a nice little insight for those who wanted to see the ‘what came next’.
Now, onto the good stuff.
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, I’m a big lover of rock star romances. Mix a rock star romance with one of my favourite authors and I had extremely high expectations for this one. Fortunately, it more than delivered. Whether you’re a Siobhan Davis fan or a rock star romance fan, I’m positive this story will grab you tight and refuse to let go.
You see, although I adore rock star romances, I sometimes feel as though we’re not given anything new. With Incognito, we take a step back from the norm in the genre. Sure, we see some of the usual rock star romance tropes, but Siobhan Davis brings her own spin to the story. We have the usual abundance of emotion that you find in a Siobhan Davis read, we have scenes that are more in line with your typical college romance rather than your typical rock star romance, and we have an overall refreshing story.
Things are a little bit on the insta-love side of things, if I’m honest, and it did take me a few chapters to fall completely in love with the romance building between our leads, but once the story was going I was addicted. I feel in love with our characters and the drama that surrounded their lives, I feel in love with all the different emotions that came to light as we learned more about the different situations, and I feel in love with all the different events that played out. There was plenty of everything to keep you hooked – drama, some humour, emotion, action, and plenty of the wonderful romance Siobhan Davis is known for.
In fact, I’m willing to put this down as one of my favourite rock star romances. It really stood out as something different, ensuring it will remain with me for quite some time. Having read so many rock star romances and having some long-term favourites it is hard for any new book in the genre to knock my number one spot down to second place, but Incognito certainly earns a spot in my top ten. Actually, it earns a spot in my top five.
Without a doubt, Siobhan Davis has done it again. I could wax lyrical all day long about how wonderful this story is (or, at the very least, I could try, but I’m dubious about my ability to sound like anything other than a mess of a fangirl), but whatever I say will pale in comparison to the feels you will get throughout Incognito.
As I said, if you’re a fan of Siobhan Davis or rock star romances you need to read Incognito.
Unfortunately, I was moving house when this came through to my Kindle. I had wanted to dive straight into Incognito the first moment I could, yet I had to hold off until I was able to update my Kindle and was done with moving things around. It was a painful wait, especially when I could see other people were reading and enjoying this one, but it was worth the wait.
You see, once I started reading Incognito it quickly became another Siobhan Davis read that I had to complete in a single sitting. Once I started, I could not put it down. The story sucked me in and left me wanting more, leaving me turning pages at a rapid pace as I ignored the world around me.
All in all, Siobhan Davis has given us another winner.
If I’m being completely honest, of her first two books that are complete standalones, I loved Incognito so much more. Sure, Inseparable was an enjoyable read – yet it pales in comparison to Incognito. This may just be personal preference because Incognito is more in line with the storylines I like, but I’m fairly certain a lot of people are going to agree that Incognito is an even more powerful standalone than Inseparable.
Whilst I’m on the topic of Inseparable, before I go deep into this fan girl review, know you get a bit of cross over with this one. Did you want to know what happened to the Inseparable characters a few years down the line, did you want to know what comes next? Well, the characters appear in this one. You do not need to have read Inseparable to understand their role in this story, but it is a nice little insight for those who wanted to see the ‘what came next’.
Now, onto the good stuff.
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, I’m a big lover of rock star romances. Mix a rock star romance with one of my favourite authors and I had extremely high expectations for this one. Fortunately, it more than delivered. Whether you’re a Siobhan Davis fan or a rock star romance fan, I’m positive this story will grab you tight and refuse to let go.
You see, although I adore rock star romances, I sometimes feel as though we’re not given anything new. With Incognito, we take a step back from the norm in the genre. Sure, we see some of the usual rock star romance tropes, but Siobhan Davis brings her own spin to the story. We have the usual abundance of emotion that you find in a Siobhan Davis read, we have scenes that are more in line with your typical college romance rather than your typical rock star romance, and we have an overall refreshing story.
Things are a little bit on the insta-love side of things, if I’m honest, and it did take me a few chapters to fall completely in love with the romance building between our leads, but once the story was going I was addicted. I feel in love with our characters and the drama that surrounded their lives, I feel in love with all the different emotions that came to light as we learned more about the different situations, and I feel in love with all the different events that played out. There was plenty of everything to keep you hooked – drama, some humour, emotion, action, and plenty of the wonderful romance Siobhan Davis is known for.
In fact, I’m willing to put this down as one of my favourite rock star romances. It really stood out as something different, ensuring it will remain with me for quite some time. First of all, what a smoking hot book! Ugh, I love Siobhan Davis’s writing, it’s so angst-filled and addicting.
I think my favorite thing about Incognito was the slow-building romance between the Rockstar world’s bad boy Shawn Lucas and the small-town sweetheart Dakota. From the very start their relationship was fun and meaningful and I love how long it actually took them to be together.
“I can’t lose her. I can’t lose this connection. Not when I’m finally starting to feel like me. Not when I’ve finally found a girl worth living for.”
The biggest problem though? Shawn is in hiding so Dakota thinks he is someone completely different. This book is jam-packed full of secrets, lies and so much pain. Shoot, even death threats and kidnapping! It’s also full of the most intense love-story I have read about in a long time and I was completely hypnotized by it. I mean can’t take my eye’s off the pages hypnotized.
It’s a crazy combination I know, but trust me when I say, it flows so well together that you will just want to fly through the pages to get to the end like I was. Plus suspense and romance go together so well and I think that’s why I was so hooked.
“My heart beats only for you, and I know you said you only wanted to be friends, but I can’t just be your friend.” He pulls me closer. “Not when I want so much more.”
If you’re looking for a book with characters you will absolutely love, words and feelings that pull on your heartstrings like no other and some suspense to pick up the pace then Incognito by Siobhan Davis is for you! I loved it and I highly recommend this one!

If you would request that I describe Incognito by Siobhan Davis with one word that word would be
DOOMED
When you are reading a lot of books you might have come across a plot looking like this one once or twice already. But I am pretty sure it only LOOKED like this plot - because honestly sofar I never read a story of two persons in this situation that felt so doomed from the beginning.
Imagine a typical storyline ... and than think again adding a twist and turn at every possible corner. When the focus of a relationship should be going forward - here in this story the author tortures his leadas not only by going forward and backward but also be going in circles. So its character torture at its finest. And I loved every second of it.
Being on Top of everything - seperated from the real world and being in the spotlight - dissected - subjected to the mercy of the public eye - basically public property - that is Shawn our male lead here.
At the Bottom of everything - at least when it comes to personal wishes, hopes and loss - that is Dakota
These two could not be more different and more perfect together. Their story is a trainwreck waiting to happen. As a reader you get the front row - including the "no don't do that please" moments where you know what will happen, that it will be bad but you still get the reasons. Talking about a rock and a hard place.
A thought that crossed my mind was that I felt our leads should have been a year or two older. There were some plot related moments that had me feeling this way. Everything was perfectly working from the timeline its just a very personal feeling.
On a sidenote - I was pleased to read that the author did not let go of two of my favorite previous characters. I was delighted to see them here in a secondary but still centere role.
I am not sure if Inseperable and Incognito are ment to be a series or not but due to the reoccuring characters I would suggest reading Inseperable first - also because its a great story.
Incognito is slighty sweeter than Inseperable was. Reading the story of Shawn and Dakota did not nearly hurt so much as the other book. But here it was really intersiting how many missunderstandings could be placed in one story and magically the story did not suffer. If anything it became more intriguing.

I feel so lucky to have gotten an ARC of this book. It sounded so good and sadly, I'd never heard of this author, now I plan to binge read as much of her stuff as I can. This story was that good. Dakota has been through a lot in her short life and it's changed her and not really for the best, she's now trying to become her sister, just to make her family happy.
Enter Shawn, a famous pop star hiding out from a stalker that's tried to kill him and even broke into his house trying to find him. They end up at the same college, the same major. They are drawn to each other rather quickly but they start this cat and mouse game where they keep pushing each other away and then pulling each other close. But once all the secrets come out and Kota finds out who Shawn really is, will it be a happily ever after?
I really enjoyed this book, it had me laughing out loud at Tabs and her blunt mouth, crying at the way her father treated her, and then smiling like a loser during the sweet romantic moments. This book gave me all the feels and it's now become one of my favorites. The only thing that keeps me from a full five star rating is the ending.... it ended perfectly but there was something right before the end that just didn't sit well with me. I will just say that Kota is too forgiving of someone she shouldn't have ever forgiven. That's just my personal opinion and it no way really effects the story at all.
The writing is fun, witty, and modern. The characters are all great and I do feel they are all flushed out nicely, the humor in this best reminds me a lot of JLA novels, which I love. All in all, this book is great and I love it so much.

I loved the premise, but by the end, I did not care for the characters. I did not like Dakota. She was all over the place.

Another brilliantly crafted and powerful emotive epic romance from the always amazing Siobhan Davis. The angst, the heartache, the tenderness. ALL THE EMOTIONS! Incognito is a roller coaster of feeling, devastating twists, and a deep love story that wrecks and heals.
Shawn/Levi and Dakota both have their own complicated baggage. One a celebrity lost in the razzle dazzle of fame and fortune, and paying the price of his career in more ways than one. Now in hiding, he’s drawn to the mysterious dancer who has her own painful past. The bond he finds with the beautiful dancer catalyzes his own journey- as he’s a man trying to reclaim his core, his essence, to reconnect to what brought him to his music, to what makes him a human, a man. But Dakota’s history is certainly complicated. Guilt, sadness, and grief weigh heavy, but she’s also a survivor, a fighter. And her connection with Levi is a lifeline.
The chemistry is this story is so powerful and rich- the layers of these characters, the depth of their draw to each other, the ways in which it both makes them feel at risk but also helps them heal. But secrets and Shawn’s TRUE life can create obstacles, particularly for a girl who is drowning at times in her own brokenness. Fortunately, theirs is a love that can face a lot, and I loved watching their love blossom. Watching them fall is so beautiful, addictive, immersively emotional. And watching them fight for their HEA was a joy.
I simply adored this heartfelt story, and the narration is top notch. Ramona and Wen bring the right emotional tenor to the vocal performances, sweeping me away in this love story.

May 23, 2022This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time. Putting aside the inherently ludicrous premise, where a world famous pop star goes undetected at a college in Iowa thanks to some contact lenses and haircut, the entire plot was too outlandishly idiotic to be borne. In what world would Harry Styles or Shawn Mendes not be recognizable because they were sporting glasses and a dye job? In addition, the writing was stilted and cliched. Case in point: “‘Someone shot at him.’ ‘Oh my God.’ I clamp a hand over my chest. ‘That’s horrible and so frightening.’”
I don’t like to overuse the phrase TSTL, but. Sometimes it’s appropriate. Starting with Shawn/Levi outing himself by publicly preforming in order to win Dakota back when he is supposed to be fearing for his life. He asks what else he could possibly do, other than publicly serenade her? I don’t know, dude, MAYBE YOU COULD TALK TO HER?? That he then rushes off to LA without talking to Dakota because the suspects “may clam up”—what the actual fuck are you talking about. They’ve been arrested for at minimum breaking and entering and assault and battery. They have zero leverage. You have plenty of time for them to languish in that cell. Additionally, his manager and label, who were supposedly concerned about him, forcing him back into the public after he almost got shot at the VMAs?? Wtf? Also, this fool actually gave his phone to his jealous assistant (who in any reasonable universe would have already been fired ages ago) when he hadn’t yet heard from Dakota: “‘Ugh!’ I toss my cell at Calista. ‘Shut off those fucking notifications.’” Sir, how dumb are you.
I can’t begin to get into Dakota’s nonsensical characterization, her soap-opera reject family, or the fact that her boyfriend said he was in the music industry, had recording equipment, and didn’t even bother to use an entirely fake name and she still couldn’t figure it out. To sum up her dumbassery, I’ll leave you with her reaction to finding out that her boyfriend was really a famous pop star on the run from a stalker:
“I can’t help wondering if this is how [my sister] felt when she found out her boyfriend, the guy she’d been sleeping with, had this whole other life she knew nothing about. Yes, I know it’s not a comparable situation—Levi isn’t a serial killer...”
You wonder if this is how your sister felt before her boyfriend raped and murdered her, as he had countless other women? Because his name is Shawn Levi and not...Levi Shawn? Okay.

Shawn Lucas is a popstar who has lost his way. Famous since he exploded onto the music scene at age 15, he has become the puppet of his label, performing music he doesn’t even like, and he has completely lost himself. He has recovered after spiralling into a life of alcohol and women, but has now become the victim of a crazed stalker who is becoming increasingly dangerous. Desperate to escape his life for a bit, and craving the safety of anonymity, his ‘team’ get him out of LA for a while, and he moves to Iowa to under the assumed name of Levi, to attend some college courses and enjoy a ‘normal’ life for a while.
Dakota is a girl who has lost everything. Following the devastating death of her sister, her family has fallen apart, and her dream of dancing at Juilliard seems gone forever. Instead she is following in her sister’s footsteps, attending the University of Iowa for an accounting degree that will see her working at her father’s business. It’s not the future she wants, but it’s the future she’s now working towards, while trying to keep her family together and still struggling to deal with her crippling grief over her sister’s death.
Dakota and ‘Levi’ meet on campus, and don’t have the best first impressions of each other. In fact, it goes pretty badly, and their initial interactions are full of snark and antagonism – all highly entertaining.
But Shawn recognises something in Dakota – a lonely sadness that he relates to all too well, and he finds himself drawn to her in a way that he hasn’t experienced before. A slow friendship develops, and they both find themselves unexpectedly falling for the other.
As much as they are feeling it, and want to pursue the chemistry that simmers between them, Dakota doesn’t feel ready for a relationship, and Shawn has no intention of dragging Dakota into the danger surrounding him. So all of that sexual tension just bubbles away as they grow closer, until it hits boiling point and they can’t hold back any longer.
I won’t go into too much detail, because while it’s pretty obvious where the story is going, the way it happens and all the twists and turns along the way are certainly surprising. There’s no denying the connection that these two share – their sexy time is absolutely steaming, and more than that, their feelings for each other are sure and strong. But there is so much for them to overcome – not the least of which is Shawn’s true identity – and it’s a rollercoaster ride watching it all play out.
I really liked Shawn and Dakota as characters, and the love story between them is just gorgeous. Their feelings are intense pretty quickly, but these two both needed somebody, a connection and understanding, and they found that in each other, and I loved seeing them find that in each other, and it worked for the story.
There is drama, intrigue and suspense as their relationship plays out, and while I enjoyed seeing them embrace their feelings for each other, there were aspects of their relationship that I struggled with. Some would call it angst, others would call it emotional turmoil, and there are plenty of readers who love that, but I call it annoying and I’m not a fan.
But regardless of my issues, I did enjoy this book. The emotion is really nicely written, I loved the elements of family, and the inclusion of Dakota’s friends, and I was hooked, wanting so badly for Shawn and Dakota to get their happy ending! There’s a fun tie in to Davis’ earlier release Inseparable, which I’m sure fans will love – and even though I haven’t read it, I thought that Devin was a fantastic addition to the story and I loved the friendship that he and Shawn developed.
The story ends well with lots of feels and a really sweet epilogue that finishes everything off nicely.

Incognito, like all of Siobhan's books are just plain amazing. Siobhan manages to make you feel for the character and makes you grow to love them. Within the first page of Incognito, I was sucked in to Dakota's and Shawn's story.
Dakota I have got to say is one of my favorite NA heroines. She's so strong. I love how she doesn't take any BS and really grows up in the novel. There are so many demons she has to fight. I love how she is courageous in growing and really achieving her dreams.
Shawn I have to go say really took a while to grow on me. Shawn was one of those heroes who I really wanted to bang in the head and then hug 🤗 him at the same time. However, Shawn's heart of gold really made me fall for him. I can see what Dakota saw in him.
The romance and suspense in this book really added a lot to this book. I really love the forbidden element in this book. Shawn and Dakota are so wrong for each other yet they are so right. Their qualities really make them perfect for each other. They are stronger together. Another thing I love about their love story is the steaminess. I like how there is real emotion to the sex scenes. There was great chemistry in the pages, but it didn't feel forced. The suspense in this book really threw in some nice unexpected twists. I really like how there are lies and deception. Siobhan does a great job resolving the conflict.
The secondary characters in this book really added a lot. I really loved seeing Devin and Angelina from Inseparable. But, man the best friends and some of the people Dakota and Shawn encounter are truly really cruel. However, the good thing was there wasn't any OTT drama.
In summary, another amazing book from the diva 👩🎤 Siobhan Davis. I really enjoyed this book and I hope she continues to write more new adult contemporary romance.
Incognito, like all of Siobhan's books are just plain amazing. Siobhan manages to make you feel for the character and makes you grow to love them. Within the first page of Incognito, I was sucked in to Dakota's and Shawn's story.
Dakota I have got to say is one of my favorite NA heroines. She's so strong. I love how she doesn't take any BS and really grows up in the novel. There are so many demons she has to fight. I love how she is courageous in growing and really achieving her dreams.

Another great romance by Siobhan Davis, this time, in a college setting (my fave) with wonderful, emotional characters (not to mention that cover with all the gorgeous hair!), and a story that will have you swiping the pages of your Kindle all through the night. Incognito is one of the better rock star romances I’ve read.
I’m usually not a fan of rock star romances because they’re almost always clichéd and full of tropes. However, Davis uses the typical rock star arc only as a backdrop for her character, thereby getting rid of almost all the annoying tropes, especially the groupies.
Davis excels at creating perfectly balanced male characters so that they have the typical alpha male characteristics without being disgustingly overbearing or domineering. Levi is a well-constructed, swoon worthy male character. He’s dominant but not overbearing and protective but not condescending. Davis toes the line of alpha male character with ease.
Dakota is an interesting character in that she wrestles with loss and family issues. Dakota is guarded yet carefree. I enjoyed reading about her family dynamic, though I wish there were more flashbacks to really cement what Davis was trying to accomplish.
Levi and Dakota’s chemistry sizzles off the pages, especially at the beginning. They go through an enemies to friends to lovers kind of arc, so if you’re a fan of either of those relationship trajectories, you’ll enjoy their romance. It’s full of witty and seductive banter, drama, and action.
I cannot wait for Tabs’ book. She’s hilarious and deserves her own story!
Overall, Incognito is an enjoyable rock star romance if you’re sick of all the clichés and tropes.

Trigger warning: This book deals with dark topics. I'm keeping it vague cause of spoilers but just be careful. Do not read this if you're in a bad place, like I was. I had to take a break because I was hit with these things out of nowhere and I was not in the mood for them.
Either way, my 2 star rating mostly has to do with the fact that I didn't believe the chemistry between the two main characters. I just couldn't get on board with it no matter how hard I tried. It wasn't anything they did in particular, it's just that they seemed more interesting as individuals than as a couple.
This book follows Dakota, who is dealing with grief due to a tragedy in the family and Shawn, a famous musician who has to go incognito due to a stalker. Shawn ends up at the same school that Dakota is attending and even though they are both dealing with their own issues that prevents them from opening up to others, they can't avoid their feelings for long.
This was my first Siobhan book and I won't go out of my way to pick up another but I won't say no either. I am curious to see how I would feel about her other characters.
But the major problem I had with this novel, besides the romance, was the writing. Siobhan tried so hard to make it sound modern that it was not believable whatsoever. At one point there was a line that literally said "in the feels" and I don't know about you but I did not like that at all. It wasn't even said in a sarcastic, ironic way; It was serious and I just couldn't get past it. Some of the expressions were... unsavory and I couldn't picture real people speaking that way in any real life scenario. There were also some things that happened that were way too sudden to believe. They felt like they were just thrown in there for shock value instead of actually being thought out. I don't know if it makes sense but it prevented me from actually caring about most of the plot line and that wasn't fun.
One thing I did like was that this was a fairly quick read to get through and it is a new adult novel so I don't recommend it for readers under 18.

Incognito is Siobhan's second standalone and I really enjoyed it. The blurb gives you all the information that you truly need to do know so I will do my best in not repeating any of that nor give anything crucial away. And yes, the blurb may sound similar or like another rock start romance, but it's Siobhan's twist and her writing that make this story so enjoyable.
Shawn and Dakota are both battling their own wars. Shawn is trying to stay under the radar and finally enjoy life as just a "normal" every day college student. He's been in the limelight for many years and his life has been in overdrive since he got picked up years ago. Now that is he "forced" to be normal, he is really enjoying life as a much slower pace.
Dakota did more that put her dreams of Julliard on the backside - she has chosen to go into the family business. While it's not her dream, it's what she knows is best for her and her family's future. But at night, she escapes her new reality and dances away in the moonlight.
Shawn and Dakota are both so wrong and so right for one another. As they try to fight against the attraction they have, the electricity just builds. These two are strong together and for one another. There is a lot of angst and suspense in this book - a lot of that comes from assumptions on both their parts. While I felt at their age their communication should have been more mature, Siobhan also does a great job of showing how social media and technology play a very key role in how people react to things.
As I said, this book blurb may feel like it's the same but it's the added twists and plotting that makes this book stand out. Siobhan has this way with her writing of putting in the characters shoes and just feeling everything - you become the characters.
Siobhan writes such amazing characters. Not only do I love her main characters but I love the secondary characters in this book. They all play such key and integral roles in this book that it just makes the story all the more entertaining

This is one of Siobhan's older books that I have finally had the time and opportunity to read.
As for the writing style, it doesn’t stand out much from their newer books and that’s the most important thing while on the other hand, it’s about tropes that I rarely read and that aren’t so typical of Siobhan.
"Incognito" is a rockstar romance with a slow burn trope, filled with angst that you won't let go until the very end.
Dakota and Shawn are two protagonists whose past is complicated, but thanks to a destiny that has crossed their paths, the two will find love that is enough to give them faith in a better life.
If you are a fan of rockstar romance or love Siobhan's books, then it's time to give this book a chance!!!

Our past sticks with us and some would say it defines us. But it’s how we handle our past that truly define us. Dakota is one of those characters who handles tragedy by getting lost in dance. But it’s not dance that helps her overcome her heartbreak, but rather a devilish and handsome rock star. Incognito is poignant, beautiful, angsty, and suspenseful with just the right amount of music to make your heart pull for both of these characters. Siobhan is a master storyteller that draws on every emotion, and I couldn’t put the book down.

I loved this story so much! First things first, this is a stand-alone HEA with a blend of college and rockstar romance. Please don’t pass up the opportunity to know these perfectly written characters!
*Sigh* Shawn is such a stud. I immediately fell in love with his character. Who doesn’t love a troubled rockstar? He’s hot, he’s cold, and I just can’t get enough. Dear Siobhan, please give me more more more! Haha.
Dakota was also a character I fell for immediately. Another tortured soul whom you can easily empathize with. She’s gorgeous and so talented, and I became lost in her story.
This romance was one of my favorites because it is slow-building. It is clear that these two are perfect for each other! I also read a few scenes over and over because the images were just so beautiful!
There are also entertaining villains and supporting characters. Tabitha is by far one of my favorites. I wouldn’t be opposed to a book all about Tabitha!
What I enjoyed most about this story was the ongoing suspense of the who, what, when, where, and why. I was glued to my kindle and couldn’t get enough!!

He enrols to university. His plan is just to focus on his music and to stay away from girls. Not so easy when they are around him all the time.
But he meets Dakota. Gorgeous, refreshing. And sad. She looks terribly sad. Her life, as it was until not so long ago, has been shattered .
Shawn tries to stay away from her. He doesn't want her to be involved in his crazy world. Especially, not now. But their attraction is stronger. Even if he is putting her in danger.
I liked the story. It mixes the love story between Shawn and Dakota and the mystery of who is behind the threats sent to Shawn.
It's true that this book is not as epic as Inseparable was, but honestly, it will be difficult to find another story that wonderful.

Incognito was my first Siobhan Davis book and it was AMAZING!!!! As far as the fact that this was my first book by this author, I know, I know… I am questioning what rock I just crawled out from under myself! If this is what I have to look forward to, I am seriously going to need to take a month off my blog commitments and catch up in every book she’s written because I freaking LOVED Incognito. Without repeating the blurb, or giving a spoiler-esque review, I am going to make it very simple – pop superstar hero and a small-town college heroine meet under extreme circumstances. And a whole lot of angst and sexiness transpire from there. Trust me, nothing I could write regarding the synopsis of this book would be better than the one Siobhan wrote for us! Instead, allow me to tell you why I loved this book so much!
Incognito was so many things that I am only going to touch on a few of the ones that I loved in this review. However, should you read it for yourself, I have no doubt that you will be able to add considerably to my list. First and foremost, Incognito was extremely well written. I often find that while I read, I critique books or get lost in the mistakes that have been missed in the editing and/or proofreading process. Therefore, I don’t always enjoy the story as much overall. It’s hard to see your own mistakes when you’re writing, and that’s why its so important to hire someone to go through your story objectively. I cannot tell you how much I value a book lacking excessive errors. When I don’t have to put my work cap on or highlight the crap out of a book, I feel like the authors deserve attention kudos and that’s the reason I am addressing my feelings in this review. I read an ARC of Incognito and would have expected to find some measure of mistakes as they are often still in the process of having a second edit (or in the hands of a proofreader). I was impressed by how well-edited Incognito was and was thus able to surrender to the story itself.
Incognito’s plot was equally brilliant and beautiful. Possessing an excellent combination of angst, sweet and sizzle made this enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance a perfect choice for any reader. Now, Rockstar romances tend to be some of my favorite reads and it was that link that had me jumping all over the story when I first read the blurb. I do have authors that I automatically one-click each book they release, and I have heard of Siobhan before, but never had the chance to grab a book she’s written. That all changed when I read the blurb for Incognito since I was so intrigued! Now I can tell you that this book truly delivered a plot that kept me turning pages for hours on end. The story was mostly unpredictable and the things that I figured out ahead of time were trivial.
Another major seller for me was how much I loved the characters in Incognito. That includes both the primary and secondary characters. Incidentally, some of those secondary characters I loved enough to hope I will get to read about them being on the receiving end of their own HEAs! As far as our hero and heroine of Incognito, they had amazing dynamics! Shawn was the sexy as sin Rockstar, who had reached the point in his fame where everyone looked at him as a meal ticket. He was jaded and justifiably so! His surly nature seemed to be limited to Dakota but the sparks that flew every time they were together nearly ignited my kindle and made the eventual surrender all the sweeter. I loved how Shawn stepped out of his comfort zone and took chances with regards to Dakota that he hadn’t with any woman in his past. While he is partly to blame for issues that arise between them, he also doesn’t hesitate at making things right between the pair repeatedly. As far as a heroine, I loved Dakota. She is beautiful inside and out but her snarky side was fabulous! She wasn’t a pushover and called out everyone the same way I do! She is incredibly strong which is deftly exhibited as we delve farther into her story. Dakota’s family tragedy was shocking for me - I truly didn’t see that twist coming. Both hero and heroine showed character progression, yet Dakota’s spoke to me the most. If I had experienced half of the horrors that she found herself living, I am not sure that I would’ve been able to get out of the fetal position – much less go away to College! She continued to be hit while she was down again, and again until I expected she would break. Only Siobhan took Dakota on a journey I wasn’t expecting, and I loved that there was no formula for this romance. (Or at least no formula past boy meets girl, boy likes girl, HEA ensues! 😉) As a romance novel, I expected passion. Yet, the passion I expected in Incognito was superseded in intensity and I loved just how sexy the story got! I literally needed a change of panties and a cold shower before I had gotten halfway through the book.
As I stated above, there really are more reasons to read Incognito and I have just touched on a few important ones to me. If you are like me and just finding Siobhan Davis, don’t pass up your chance to read this story. I already one-clicked several more titles by the author just based on my love of this book. If you are a longtime fan of Siobhan then you know that everything I wrote about in this review is already true. As a matter of fact, I am surprised you even read the reviews 😉 but regardless, don’t miss Incognito!

Incognito is Siobhan Davis’s next unique, sexy, and angst-filled standalone. I just know that when I open one of her books that it will be a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense. I love it!
Shawn needs to get away. Away from L.A and the fake-ness that comes along with it. He may only be twenty but he was a bad boy popstar by the time he was only fifteen. The last year has been difficult and now with a stalker threatening him, it’s time to get out of there. It will give him time to focus on himself and his music. To find himself again. U of I might be a party school but he wasn’t there for that. He was determined to write songs, study accounting, and blend into the crowd of college students. What he didn’t expect was Dakota Gray.
Dakota’s life was forever changed last year with the a tragic loss. She as supposed to be dancing at Julliard. Instead she was studying accounting at U of I. It wasn’t her dream but she was doing what she felt was right. Even when she knew in her heart it was all wrong. She still danced at midnight so she kept that part of herself. She was in college to focus. To one day work with her father. Then, one morning, something changed. She ran into him. Literally. An asshole named Levi who was too good looking for his own good. She tried to stay away but he was always there. In class. In the corner. In her mind.
Shawn/Levi and Dakota’s is a complicated one. They both are not in a place for a relationship. She is still hurting. He has a crazy person after him. Plus, he has never had a girlfriend. But, there is just a connection between them that they try to fight but in the end it’s too strong. They get each other. They have fun. They relax each other. I loved this story! It has the fun college experiences along with the drama of it. It also has suspense, sexiness, and heart. Both characters are strong, like-able, and mature. They are only nineteen and twenty but have been through so much for their young age. They have been through things that most people their ages haven’t. He might be a wealthy popstar but he has had his troubles. I love the way he feels for Kota. It’s beautiful, really.
Overall...I was hooked from the very start to the very end. I had to know who was going to make the first move. Who the stalker was. What would happen when she finds out the truth. I loved it! The characters. The suspense. The emotions. The drama. Everything.

Shawn needs to get away. Away from L.A and the fake-ness that comes along with it. He may only be twenty but he was a bad boy popstar by the time he was only fifteen. The last year has been difficult and now with a stalker threatening him, it’s time to get out of there. It will give him time to focus on himself and his music. To find himself again. She was in college to focus. To one day work with her father. Then, one morning, something changed. She ran into him. Literally. An asshole named Levi who was too good looking for his own good. She tried to stay away but he was always there. In class. In the corner. In her mind.
Shawn/Levi and Dakota’s is a complicated one. They both are not in a place for a relationship. She is still hurting. He has a crazy person after him. Plus, he has never had a girlfriend. But, there is just a connection between them that they try to fight but in the end it’s too strong. They get each other. They have fun. They relax each other.
