I did a bad, bad thing. I tried to kill someone. Not just any someone, but an important vampire prince. But I paid my dues, and now I’m out, desperate to prove I can still be the kind of assassin people want to hire.
Unfortunately, things aren’t that simple.
The only way to become an assassin of worth is to graduate from the Guild of Assassins. And stepping back into the real world isn’t easy. Not when the two men who betrayed me are fighting for their positions at the guild right alongside me.
And the vampire I tried to kill? He’s my mentor.
Fun, fun.
Oh, and did I mention that all three men seem to be trying their best to ruin me? So, yeah, there’s that. Even if there’s no denying the heated looks they’re giving me, or the way they seem to want to protect me from everyone but them. Which is confusing as heck.
But if I thought surviving them and the guild was going to be it, I was wrong. Deadly wrong. Because my family has hidden a dark secret from me about who I am… what I am. And if I can’t reveal those secrets before it’s too late, I might just learn that there are fates worst than death.
A fate I’m destined for unless my men and I can work together to stop it. We just need to stop fighting each other long enough to do it.

Guild of Assassins was a great series. Lacey had a strong female character who had a softer side and a history with a group of guys who would do anything for her. I loved that Mercy didn't give up when it truly seemed like everyone was against her. As for the guys while they didn't always make the best decisions they came from a good place. Bash has an air of mystery and his family is complicated which makes him more relatable to Mercy. Ares is the sweetest shifter ever, he's also gone through a lot but is still willing to give his heart. Finally, there is Prince Rein who changed his whole world for Mercy. These men know who they want, they may fight with Mercy but they also fight for her.
There were hints of a well-known fairytale but with a unique twist. The fantasy was strong in this one, with castles, royals, assassins, and magic but hints of the modern with motels, cars, and guns. The mix of supernaturals was great but the story was even better. Assassin school, was a fantastic idea, the challenges, and the different people. Guild of Assassins was a quick but entertaining read and it's the series that got me into Lacey's writing.
The series offers strong characters that develop over the three books alongside some solid action, hidden heritage and vicious rivalries among the ruling families. Mercy was fabulous- sassy, strong- willed and determined to come on top despite the odds. It was simply heart- wrenching when Mercy's childhood story was portrayed as her 'parents' never gave her the only thing she ever craved, love. I enjoyed the fact that she had history with all of the guys as that illustrated another side of Mercy, the vulnerable, carefree soul that she possesses. The MMCs may have made some questionable decisions, but at the end of the day it all came from good intentions and they have been obsessively protective of Mercy throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this story as it was a dashing experience from start to finish.
This was an awesome set that really allowed me to lose myself in the story of Mercy and her men. I love not having to fuss with cliff hangers and which book comes next... just read and read away ;P The author was able to fully pull me into the story with great world building, great characters that developed throughout and so much mystery, secrets, betrayal, suspense and lovely RH steam ;D The ending was unexpected and came after a hard journey. It really made for a fab finale to their tale. I enjoy everything this author brings out and recommend this great reading adventure :D
Although Mercy is good with weapons, she is also very clearly more than that. Which means that, even though she has a lot of character growth to do, she is the perfect character to root for. Mercy is edged and far from perfect, but so are her guys. It makes watching them, knowing that eventually they will get together, quite entertaining. There is always a sort of tension between them, because they have different goals and different wants and needs. I also really enjoy the world, the atmosphere and the mystery, especially because the authors keep on adding more and more until the very end!
* Mercy’s Revenge Superb Storyline! This is my favourite read of LCA’s so far …. It’s got everything action, angst and an ambiguous heritage! 🤩 Mercy is treated awfully by her parents, she does not live up to their expectations and is entirely disowned- you really feel for her. On top of that she is betrayed by her two best friends leading to her in a reformatory wasting years of her life😔 She is given the opportunity to fulfil her dreams and attend the Guild of Assassins , sponsored by a secret benefactor. Unbeknownst to her its someone from her past with whom she doesn’t have the greatest connection! 😮 Her two former male best friends are also at the school, determined to hide their true feelings for Mercy, along with her true nature, but also to get her kicked out of guild all in the name of protecting her without her knowing! 😍 With an unknown creature visiting her and revealing secrets (good old cliffhanger right at the end there!) about her that question everything she knows about herself, Mercy is in immediate danger! Cannot wait to see what happens next and what Mercy may actually be!!
* Mercy’s Fall (Guild of Assassins #2) Oh my it seems the whole world is against Mercy! Someone is determined to get her removed from the Guild sending her on essentially a suicide mission where everything that could go wrong does go wrong 😖 Not only that but she discovers what supernatural she actually is (with no help from her men who actually know 😠) and it’s an awful future that lies ahead of her and one she would not escape from should anyone else discover what she is 😩 Despite this and some serious feelings of betrayal, Mercy begins to work through her feelings with Bash and Ares - there a connection between them that the cannot deny and is cemented once they chose Mercy above all else! And Rian is just entirely besotted but unfortunately makes some mistakes running from his feelings but he comes good in the end 😍 Then Mercy has an awful decision to make right at the very end, continue in her own path or trust these newly formed relationships….. looking forward to seeing how that goes ok the next one!
* Mercy’s Rise (Guild of Assassins # 3) What an ending! My gosh Mercy does NOT have an easy journey! Torn between various families which she has connections to her heart and head are splitting all over the place 😧 With her biological father the leader of the Phoenixes, who are determined to wreak havoc on those who’ve used them, going against the Guild of Assassins who, despite banishing Mercy, she still has ties with, she doesn’t know who to support and forging a way forward seems impossible. As she discovers more and more information then the leading families get draw into it aswell, and despite their awful treatment of her Mercy cannot let them suffer the fate her father has planned! It takes Mercy and her harem, her chosen family, to forge a peace against all the odds! 😀 despite all the awfulness thrown at them they finally get their HEA in the final book of this trilogy!
Mercy is an assassin who *attempted* to kill a powerful vampire. After failing, and paying the price for it, she tries to get back to the world of assassins and prove herself. Unfortunately, she needs to graduate from the Guild of Assassins to do so. And even more unfortunate, two men who betrayed her are also vying for the same position, and the guy who's mentoring her? That would be the vampire she tried to kill. But nothing will drag her down, despite the twists, turns, secrets, lies and outright backstabbing moves people are making.
The series is a wild ride from start to finish. Mercy is a gung-ho, let's get this done now type person who acts before really thinking to start. Over the course of the series, she learns to tone it back, plan out her moves before executing. Seeing her grow and evolve was a worthwhile experience in this book, and you can easily see her character arc, and even the major moments that made her who she is.
The men in her life, Bash, Ares and Rein, all have varying qualities that separate them and compliment her. They all have the "I'm better than you" attitude to start with, but all eventually come around to her. I love Rein the most just because you completely changed his world just for her, and what bigger statement of love can a person give?
The plot has a lot of different elements, including fantasy, with assassins, royals, castles, etc, a little bit of paranormal with vampires, as well as some modern touches, like guns, cars, and some basic businesses. You kind of get an all in one with this book when it comes to genres.
My only problem with the book, is the pacing of the story. It goes from fast in book one, to incredibly slow in book two (almost to the point it could have been skipped completely without any information being missed), and back to fast paced in book three. This seems to be a consistent thing with this author, so it may just be their style of writing?
Overall rating for the series: 4 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 3 🌶🌶🌶
An amazing trilogy. Here is my review for each book. Mercy’s Revenge Oh My God! That was so amazing. I did. It want to put this book down until I read it all. And I so need the next book now. Mercy is one kick butt female. The story in centered around her but we do read the view from some of the other characters. And boy are those other characters hot and sneaky. There are lies and hidden secrets that may ruin Mercy or even kill her. The story is amazingly written and you will be on Mercy’s side from the start. It does end in a cliffhanger that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Mercy’s Fall The second book in this amazing series. Mercy will learn so much in this one, but it may be what destroys her. So many lies and half truths to uncover. Who to trust and who really cares? Can she she trust the three males that have found their way into her heart? The book is filled with danger and action. Mercy starts to show what she can do and everyone should be afraid when she gets mad. There are a few hot scenes but I have a feeling that the next book will have so much more. Can’t wait for it.
Mercy’s Rise The final book of the trilogy. It has been a whirlwind ride and this was the perfect ending. Filled with action, danger, mystery and plenty of love as Mercy tries to make her world a better place. She will learn the truth of her family and that of her men. The surprises never stop as Mercy seems to know how to get in trouble at every turn. Her men will always be there for her and she for them.
Dive into the Guild of Assassins complete series with this three book boxset! The fantastic thing about this set is that you can binge the entire series, which believe me, you will not be able to put down!
Mercy's Revenge: We are introduced to heroine Mercy in the first book of the Guild of Assassins series. She is a spitfire with a lot of strength, but there is so much uncertainty surrounding who she truly is. She slowly meets three unique men, Bash, Ares and Rian, each with their own supernatural abilities. This first book really set the stage for these characters and will hook readers right in!
Mercy's Fall: We are back with assassin Mercy and her men in book 2 of the Guild of Assassins series! With an absolutely addicting cast of characters, it was wonderful seeing the growth between them. However, when Mercy's life is put in danger and she must leave the Guild, it does put a strain on her and her guys. It will be interesting to see if the characters will be able to come out stronger or if this will tear them apart forever.
Mercy's Rise: A heart pounding conclusion, this was definitely my favorite book of the series! The characters have continued to grow together throughout even through all the hardships they have been put through. Mary in particular has become such a beacon of strength for herself and those around her. The moments between Mercy and her men continue to be steamy, and between the twists and turns, it was a never ending roller coaster. Just a wonderful trilogy with a fantastic ending!
Mercy's End was the Novella before this book (worth a read) and that book explains how/why she was at the God Fire Academy and her backstory with Rian, Bash & Ares.
Book 1 - Mercy's Revenge A mysterious benefactor helps her enroll in The Guild of Assassins. Old frenemies make an appearance causing problems for Mercy there. I genuinely loved Mercy in Mercy's End and this book was a brilliant read. Mercy is just a killer character (pun intended). She bad***, Kick*** and Smart a** all rolled into one. I got a kick out of it every time she got one over Bash & Ares. I seriously wanted to slap both of them silly for their attitudes. As for Rian well he and Mercy steamed up my kindle!! So Hot!!
Book 2 - Mercy's Fall Marcy's Fall is the second book in this series and my heart went out to Mercy for the majority of this book. She has been a loner from the first book but not by choice. By keeping secrets from her Rian, Bash and Ares are doing far worse but Mercy gets some of the answers that shes looking for.
Book 3 - Mercy's Rise Damn i cant believe this is the last book in this series. Still it was a bloody brilliant way to go out. Mercy is stuck in the middle of a growing war between the Phoenixes, the Guild of Assassins and the ruling families. A lot of unanswered questions were answered and loose ends were tied up perfectly. It was a fabulous finale and ive enjoyed reading the whole series so much
A great trilogy with cracking characters. It kept me gripped from start to finish. One hell of a read
Mercy’s revenge This was a really fun story to start a new series! I’m very excited to see where this series will go and what will happen with these characters. I really enjoyed getting to know them and seeing what would happen with them. Mercy was such a kickass characters and I definitely need the next book! I need to know what’s going to happen next cause that was one seriously intense cliffhanger and I need to know what’ll happen next with it. Mercy is just such a badass and hasn’t had it easy. She was a fun character to get to know.
Mercy’s fall I loved this continuation of the series so much! Mercy has some serious shocks showing up for her in this series and I was shocked by a few of them. There were some twists and turns that had me a bit anxious. I loved this book so much! I can’t wait to find out the next part of the story. I love the development of the characters and the relationships.
Mercy’s rise This was an epic conclusion to a series that I’ve loved reading so much. This was a jam packed book with so many amazing moments. I loved the way it ended. And we got to see Mercy truly come into her own. I loved her powers and she was an awesome character that kept me entertained the entire time. The relationships between the characters were also so much fun to see.
Action, intrigue, betrayal and lots of sexy time between the sheets, this set has it all! The world building in this series is great and transports you easily into this world. Mercy is a strong FMC, determine to follow her own path and destroy anything and anyone that gets in her way. After a betrayal by her so-called best friends lands her in prison, she knows the only person she can trust is herself. At least, until those same men barge back into her life and claim they want to rekindle their past friendship and more. Mercy knows she can't trust them. She doesn't even know them. The problem is, as the world is changing around her and hellhounds are attacking her out of the blue, it's becoming clear she doesn't even really know herself. Mysteries are uncovered, both about her past and about who she really is, and time is running out. The attraction between Mercy, Ares, Bash and Rian is off the charts hot but colored with deep pain of betrayal. The angst is real, but it is worth it in the end. The fight to overcome their past and create a new future together to a beautiful thing to see come together in this series. The author tied up all the loose ends for me. I'm only sad to see the end. I can't wait to read more from this author. Definite recommend.
This book was amazing it is a slow burn but the story line is phenomenal. Mercy is trying to get out of God's Fire Academy and her parents are not helping at all they are complete assholes. She wants to go to the Guild of Assassins but needs a benefactor her dad refuses. But the dean advises someone has supported her and she can go. She is a strong female character that has a past with Bash and Ares who she believes betrayed her when she tried to kill Prince Rian. This book has many twists and turns
Book 2
Mercy keeps getting things thrown at her, but as always she is strong and a survivor. Can she survive the battles to come? Will she forgive the guys and their Betrayal? Will she find love with the prince Rian? She is resilient and it really shows that she can handle what comes her way. Can she forgive Bash and Ares? It does end in a shocker.
Book 3
Mercy is finally getting her happy ending after everything she has been through she deserves it. It was one heck of a rough road to get there for her.
Rian, Ares and Bash really came together for her when it counts and proved that they care for her.
I'm sad to see this end but happy with they way that it did. Once again Lacey did a fantastic job wrapping things up
😉Never keep secrets from a ticked off female assasin...💖
...at least if you know what's good for you 😉. Mercy indeed gets a few shocks within the pages of this series. Adrenaline flows readily through the majority of these chapters as there are battles, both of wits and by swords/knives and anything else handy...plus as mentioned, a number of reveals. This is DEFINITELY not a boring read 😆....there's oodles of action, drama, twisted parents, intrigue, mystery, steamy moments, alpha male posturing and at the center of everything one amazing female that shines so bright. Mercy has been continually beaten down by those supposed to love her, yet she stands strong. She's resilient, determined, fierce, true, and just. Also...don't hurt anyone she cares for or you might not live long enough to regret it 😉. There's a new threat on the horizon coming for her....can Mercy and the guys figure out who in time? This FMC will grab capture you with her determination, heart, wit, intelligence, and fierce loyalty towards those she cares about. Not to mention she kicks some serious butt along the way. Take the journey, and enjoy the crazy twists and turns. It's one adrenaline packed ride you won't regret! This reader gives two huge thumbs up!
Mercy’s journey all in one big book, get ready for a ride! Mercy is a strong bad@$$ FMC, that after a severe betrayal by her “best friends” she knows that now? She can only rely on herself. When getting a chance to attend the Guild of Assassins, she runs into the Prince she tried to ☠️, and the “best friends” who betrayed her. The kicker? They’re her mentors. Mercy finds out so much in book 1, secrets, lies and so much more.
As we venture into book 2, you wanna shake & hug Mercy at the same time. It’s like growing pains 🤣. She’s dealt with rejection and bad choices, but the life she grew up in and what she had to go through you’re not surprised. There’s a lot going on that you’re rooting for and are just along for the crazy ride, which leads us to…
Book 3! I was pleasantly surprised when I still was able to be shocked! The ending is not what I expected at all, and honestly I loved it. Mercy was a great FMC and perfect for the guys, they completed each other and it was great to see them strong as a whole. Their journey wasn’t easy but it was so worth it in the end.
Amazing read can’t wait to see what else Lacey writes!
Mercy’s Revenge: A fantastic start to a new series. It’s action packed, with complex characters, an entertaining storyline, and filled with twists, surprises, secrets, and plenty of steam. Mercy was such a bada$$ character, I just loved her. I really think Bash and Ares needed a good knock upside the head and as for Mercy and Rian, they will steam up your kindle. I’m so happy I can jump to the next book!
Mercy’s Fall: Book two takes you on one wild ride! It’s filled with twists and turns, secrets, action, drama, and plenty of steam. I love the dynamics between Mercy and her men and I really enjoyed Mercy’s character development in this one.
Mercy’s Rise: This is the final book and what an ending it was! An action packed story filled with drama, twists, mystery, suspense, romance, and steam, that will keep you hooked from the first page until the last. I simply adored Mercy. She’s determined and fearless. A thrilling series and I look forward to reading whatever this author comes up with next!
Guild of Assassins is the complete trilogy of Lacey Carter Andersen’s paranormal series focusing on Mercy and her men. Mercy is a tough character with a chip on her shoulder the size of several boulders. She’s looking for some payback against the guys who “betrayed” her, but she’s about to start finding out some truths about herself. She has a target painted on her back, and she’s going to need these guys to help her survive the revelations to come. This series is packed with steamy scenes, chaos, and tons of drama. Mercy is going to irritate you with her irrational hatred/resentment toward the guys, but she won’t be alone in the irritating department. The guys are going to be in there vying for position, too so prepare yourself. The storyline for sure is going to capture your attention, it’s just a pity that only so much of the storyline is actually dedicated to the Guild itself and becoming an assassin. If the author had toned down Mercy’s snark and bad attitude, the series would have been more tolerable. As it is, I’m rating this boxed set 4 out of 5 stars as a whole.
Revenge (Book 1 ) Book 1 is off to a great start. Mercy is trying to find herself after feeling so alone. All she wants is to be loved, but knows she can only count on herself. I love the characters and storyline. I love how there is mystery in the book and love how tough Mercy is. I'm so glad this is a boxset, so I can easily start the next one. Fall (Book 2) Holy wild ride. So much going on in this book. Lots of steam! Can we just appreciate the sweetness of Ares? I absolutely love him! The ending males mer nervous. Will Mercy make the right decision?? I cannot wait to dive in to the last book! At the same time I'm sad I'm on the last one next! Rise (Book 3) I didn't think my emotions could go any crazier, but book 3 proved me wrong. People I hated I ended up loving. People I thought may have a chance I hated. Mercy and her men are so loving and have huge hearts. I absolutely loved this series! I cannot wait to read other stories from this author!!
‘Once upon a time I thought I’d be going to the guild with my two best friends, but that’s another fairy tale without a happily ever after. Just like the rest of my life.’
Guild of Assassins is the box set of Lacey Carter Andersen’s that includes Mercy’s Revenge, Mercy’s Fall, and Mercy’s Rise.
Mercy begins her story as an abandoned delinquent, who unexpectedly is admitted to the guild, along with several boys who behave as her enemies. She continues to struggle, not knowing their are secrets that will affect her relationships at the academy.
Each book begins where the last stops, which keeps the action moving. Throughout all three books, the danger level increases, as well as the heat, when Mercy finally is allowed to understand her mates have been working to protect her.
Questions raised along her journey are answered by the close of book three. An HEA, for this PNR HR, is the best way to enjoy this set, all in one sitting.
1st book mercy’s revenge Mercy is our bad butt fmc. While she is the main focus of the book, we do get to see viewpoints from other characters. This story keeps you on the edge of your seat while you learn all the lies and secrets.
Book 2 Mercy’s fall Mercy learns so much in this book, but can she survive. So much to discover and learn. Who can she trust. Can she trust these three hot men in her life. Danger and chaos around every corner in this book. This book is getting hotter and i cant wait for the next one
Book 3 Mercy’s rise This is the final book. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride. Its an amazing ending to an amazing trilogy. Mercy will finally learn the truth about everything. But now she has back up.
This series was absolutley amazing and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Mercy was such a kick butt character i loved her
Wow this has to be my favorite LCA series to date, I am not sure if it’s because we first met Mercy in the God Fire Academy series or because of the prequel but i was really looking forward to this series and it didn’t disappoint at all.
Mercy is rejected by her family, betrayed by those she thought were her best friends, and then finds herself as a trainee Assassin under a mentor she previously tried to kill.
She has grit and determination to overcome everything life has thrown at her so far then bingo she is blindsided by the fact that all may not be as it seems and she may have got things wrong.
Whiplash from so many plot twists! but I don’t want to say anymore as I am not into spoilers but this is a fast-paced brilliantly written adventure that will have you sitting on the edge of your seats and binge reading from cover to cover!
This is the boxed set of the three bows that make up the Guild of Assassins. The books follow Mercy a bad ass female that is determined to join the guild no matter what. She is determined to join even though she was betrayed by her best friends and fellow guild. Along the way we find out why they betrayed and that things are not always what they seem. Throughout the story we see how her realistic ships with her three men Bash, Rian and Ares the wolf, demon and vampire she eventually learns to trust and fall for. The story brings in different parts from other story’s I enjoy such as shifter, vampire, royals and of course who could forget assassins. The first two books do end on cliff hangers but we finally get our happily ever after in book three. It’s a great read and I really enjoyed my re read of all three stories together in one larger book. I highly recommend it to anyone.
I've read this series before, but not packaged like this. I absolutely couldn't put this set down! I may have even read while at work 🤫.
The start is so good. You truly get to experience the drive, but also the pain of our FMC Mercy. This girl is so bada$$!! She is strong and fearless, but we get to really see how things change for her when packaged in this set. Ares, Bash and Rian are all drool worthy alphaholes. Ares is probably my favorite 😍.
I really loved how you truly see the growth of all of the characters. There is no stopping and having to go find the next book and wait, no, you can just keep going and it was fabulous!! All the good, the bad and the warm gooey feelings are all right at your fingertips.
I hadn’t read this series separately, but when I found out about it, I could read them all in one setting in this boxed set. I’m so glad I did! I read them all at once, and it made the universe so rich. I felt so much for poor Mercy having grown up with parents who basically didn’t love her and made no bones about that fact. She finds her own family and reconnects with others throughout this series, and it was so entertaining getting there. She also comes to find out that she is not who she thought she was anyway, and she grows to embrace that fact. This book is filled with great writing, action, and suspense, and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I just loved Mercy. She is an amazing character. I just love how she can take care of herself. She starts out the book as a lonely and unloved woman. We see right off the bat how her family treats her. As her story unfolds we meet Ares, Bash, and Rian. We learn how they have played a roll in her past and present. Mercy seems to be a magnet for trouble. I loved how she puts the guys in their place over and over again. The past comes to light and we start to see how not everything as it seems. There is so many secrets and Mercy must find the truth. I just loved the chemistry and romance this book has. I liked how well all the book together just flowed. It made it a quick read!!! I loved loved the ending!!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEE Mercy! She is the freaking greatest. She is sassy, independent, stubborn, and tough as nails. The mystery behind who she is really kept me reading. I thought this book was really entertaining from cover to cover. I really liked that all the guys seemed to be against Mercy from the beginning for weird reasons. I loved that we saw the internal push and pull in all of the guys in different ways. I also love that there are these overarching secrets that kind of shut doors as others open. It really kept the story going without stalling. Truly, I haven't read many parents in books that I wanted to wreck quite as much as Mercy's parents. Be prepared to pick up your pitchforks and torches for them. If I haven't convinced you yet...READ THIS SERIES!
I absolutely love Mercy. Even when she is single-minded in her attempt to gain both revenge and a career, she at least knows what she wants and doesn't mess around. Being an assassin is the only thing she wants to do, and attempting to kill the wrong person almost gets her killed. But she bounces back in true Mercy style and makes the best of a horrible situation. Eventually she meets back up with her childhood best friends Ares and Bash, a shifter and something no one really understands, and she even had to work along with an arrogant vampire prince Rian. I loved the sexy dynamic between each individual and as a group in this reverse harem box set. If you enjoy hot times and physical and mental challenges, you'll love this story!
I read these books when they were first released, and I'm happy to see them as a box set - now you can jump straight to the next book after the cliffhangers!
I love Mercy as a heroine, and her story of how she learns who and what she is, and what she can do is fascinating. If I had one complaint, I'd like to have seen more made of being the daughter of Beauty and the Beast, I love fairy tale retellings, but I also like the fact that just having that as background allows her to blossom on her own terms.
Her guys compliment her and each other well, they do try and do what they think is best for her, but they learn relatively quickly!
This series is loosely linked with several of the author's other series, and I'd love to see them all properly converge one day!
This series followed Mercy, our strong and capable heroine, through a fast paced adventure full of secrets, mysteries, the intriguing world of assassins, and the steamy RH romance. There was a lot of drama and wide range of emotions, from betrayal, not fitting in, rejection, pain and doubts, but also attraction, certain passion, and later love. Challenges and plot twists are waiting at every turn, creating a lot of tension in the story and giving the reader an occasional whiplash. I also really liked the characters, not only Mercy but also her men, the way we got to know them and how they developed with each decision and overcome obstacle. It was a great series and easy to devour in one go.
I read this book as the trilogy not separate books and I’m glad I did. I don’t think I could have waited for the next book in the series. I absolutely devoured this book. Mercy is an awesome MFC and despite everything she goes through she still loves those that don’t deserve it and have treated her badly. This tell the story from beginning to end. It follows the journey of mercy and her old friends and a vampire prince as they discover who she is and why things are happening and how they can save everyone. This book is so well written that you cry when even Mercy doesn’t “she’s not weak”. Fabulous trilogy highly recommend it.
This was an entertaining read that I read in one sitting. Mercy is the child of Beauty and the Beast, but her story is far from a fairytale. Her parents want nothing to do with her because she spent her childhood playing with swords and chased her dream of becoming an assassin. She manages to make it into the Assassin’s Guild, only to have her life completely spiral after being chased by a hell hound. Her two childhood best friends and the vampire prince are her only frenemies at the Guild, but that status eventually changes. I highly recommend this series! As always, check trigger warnings!
