there's beauty in catching the sunrise with only your eyes. it's just a small moment in time. it's meant to be brief but genuinely appreciated like a lot of things in life.
I really, really enjoyed this one!! I had no idea this poetry book was actually from someone I’ve read from twice before. The authors other books never clicked with me until this one and I loved this one so much. It carried so much warmth and comfort.
“december holds so much. the end of the best times, or what was needed to come to an end. december has hints of hope for what is to come. it has closure for all that was lost. december is a heavy and hopeful month.”
“today i'll be just five percent more present than i was yesterday. and five percent more the day after that. i slowly realized all i was missing out on by thinking too far into the future or dwelling too long on the past. the present moment is really all i have, so i'll be here a little more now.”
OK so I think this might be my favorite book by this author!! I feel like I've read so many of them this year but this one really stood out and resonated really well with me! They had such great themes for an end-of-the-year read and I think anybody who reads it will really appreciate the style and tone of voice that she uses! It is such an amazing gift
Having read a few of this authors poetry collections, I was ready for this. Her words flow beautifully and with purpose. Some of the poems are very short but none exceed several lines worth. But every word is written with care and they feel authentic. I look forward to enjoying more of her work.
If you’re in need of a heart space healing sun-basking session, this book is it. The poems made me feel vulnerable and they took a few moments to digest. But as they settled in, they really felt like being given a big warm hug. It was a quick read, I finished it within an hour or two. I liked the author’s writing style and hope to explore more later this month if not year as a whole!
Another great poetry book from Jennae Cecclia. Although this one wasn’t my favorite, I still found its words beautiful, hopeful and encouraging. A good mix of things to make you feel hopeful but also some other things as well.
“life’s too short to not paint with your fingers, sing that song at the top of your lungs, eat your favorite ice cream on the last day of summer, or dance in the kitchen as pancakes bake. your inner child would thank you for not taking your life too seriously. this life’s supposed to be fun.”
A poetry book about healing, comfort and appreciating the little things in life. This poetry book also focuses on giving yourself grace, which is something that I’m currently working on for myself. These poems left me in wonder and inspired.
2.75 stars rounded up to 3. This poetry collection was simple and decent my favorite poems were the sun coming up over the horizon is filled with hope of an untouched today. There's never a better time than right now to believe things will be ok. Another one was I've always been a little lost. Directions aren't my thing. I'm trusting the roads will lead me to where I'm supposed to be. Overall, this poetry collection was short and to the point.
A lot of these poems revolved around healing and being present. I really enjoyed the ones about being present in the moment but the others just weren’t my taste. I loved that the author connected almost all of the poems to nature. My least favorite thing is that these felt very Instagram poet style and I have found that to be my least favorite.
Another beautiful Jennae Cecelia book. Exactly what my soul needed this November. I've been thinking a lot about being present and choosing to find light and joy in Winter. The perfect book to read as I shout at my seasonal depression that it's not welcome this year.
I really liked this book! It was a quick and easy read. It reminded me a lot of Rupi Kaurs work and she’s someone who I adore. This book talks a lot about self love, mental health, positivity and more. Definitely recommend for people who like a good poetry book. 😊
I've been having a bad run with Jennae Cecelia's poetry collection for a while. This was another collection I couldn't connect with.
While reading the collection, I kept referring to the pieces as Instagram-styled poetry in my mind, and I started understanding more and more about why I wasn't feeling it. I enjoyed the idea that most of the pieces were connected to nature but I couldn't grasp the actual writing.
