With Gingerbread still on the lam, Detective Lorena Evans takes her niece to Florida for a much-needed vacation and a break from their hectic lives in Cleveland. However, their sunshine and beach time is interrupted by a desperate plea for help from the F.B.I. on a case not one agent has been able to crack. She and her partner, Detective Jack Foster, are sent to Portland, Oregon, to consult on a serial killer case involving eleven known victims and a madman who likes to call himself Trix. This killer intertwines memories of his disturbing youth with a very personal and in depth look into Lorena’s own hidden history, one she’d rather forget, and one into which he’d like to delve deeper. She works so hard to forget the darkness that dwells there, but Trix becomes fixated on her and won’t stop until he makes Lorena a part of his perfect collection. When Jack’s past also rises up to meet them with blunt force, he becomes even more personally involved in the case and must face tough choices in the end. Fighting to keep Lorena from becoming Trix’s next victim will not be the only hardship he faces in Portland, and keeping them both alive will be one of the most difficult missions he’s ever performed.

I live on a small farm in Ohio where I tend a shabby garden, take care of my crazy horses and chickens and enjoy writing. Check out my website: www.katemorrisauthor.com for recipes from the book, my blog, articles and information about books two and three. Book Two out now.

I am the author of the new trilogy, The McClane Apocalypse. Books one and two are out now. Check them out on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or iBooks.

The McClane Apocalypse, Book One of the series. Follow the McClane family as they struggle to survive on their TN farm. Romantic suspense filled with hot Army Rangers and a broken and beautifully flawed female protagonist. Don't read chapter two if you need to be anywhere any time soon!

Just when I thought I had read the best of Kate Morris, she stunned me again with the release of Trix.
This creepy yet capturing series begins with the first installment of Gingerbread. If you haven’t read Gingerbread thus far, I would highly recommend you do so before diving into Trix.

Detective Lorena Evans is a beautiful, intelligent, and single agent. Her beauty, brilliance and ability to solve mastermind cases draws unwanted attention that is often unnoticed. Being a single mother to her orphaned niece, Grace and working as a detective for the Cleveland Police department, are the only things that take precedence in her life. The attractive and muscle toned Jack Foster is Lorena’s partner. They are growing closer with each chapter in this new thriller! Are they just partners with concealed feelings, or truly becoming close friends?

Lorena is finally starting to enjoy some time off vacationing with her niece... until she and Jack are called to help solve one of the biggest serial killer cases yet. Traveling to the west coast is unfamiliar and unsettling knowing the serial killer, calling himself Trix, is lurking in the shadows of the rainy state. Torture that leads to playing dress up and then murder accompany each body found. After a news press release, Trix forms a deep obsession with Lorena and reaches out to her, dropping hints of his identity without intention. Will Lorena solve this case? Or will she be taken down with him?

Wow

Loved it. But I got a little frustrated because I knew it was a dentist right at the beginning. So I kept berating Lorena and Jack. Maybe my IQ is higher then Lorena's. So different then your other series Kate, but loved it just as much. Thanks. Ok I'm ready for the next one. Let's go girl. For either series. I'm ready for something to read.

A great read

Fast moving and very big on details. Showed a lot of insight in how the FBI works. Loved the growing attraction between Lorena and Jack. I hope the next book makes them a couple.
