Emma Walker is once again faced with a life altering decision.
This time though, it feels like an impossible choice. No matter what choice she makes, someone is bound to get hurt. Including herself. Living with aftermath of that decision will be harder than she expected.
Ocala and Wellington are reeling from the aftermath of professional horse thieves that have been taking its show horses, and so far, the police have no leads. With each horse that disappears, tension grows higher.
Then, when an eventing trial doesn’t go the way she planned, Emma wonders if she will ever recover mentally and physically. Although, it seems there may be a bright a chance to reconnect with the one person Emma wasn’t sure she would ever be able to make amends with. Unless those amends have a shelf life, that is.
With horse thieves still on the loose and the possibility of permanently losing the person she cares about most, the stakes will be higher for Emma than they’ve ever been.
In this final book in the Impelled series (telling Emma’s story), will Emma finally get everything she’s always wanted?
(Clean Equestrian Fiction / Romantic Suspense Novel Series with no sexual content or foul language. Suitable for young adults and adults. This book series is intended to be read sequentially.)
Sarah Welk Baynum has an extensive equestrian background which became the inspiration behind her debut novel “Impelled.”
While writing her novels, Sarah draws from previous experience as a working student, show groom, barn manager, working for FarmVet and other various jobs in the horse industry over the years both in her hometown and in Wellington & Ocala, Florida. Sarah also attended Otterbein University and majored in Equine Business and Facility Management.
Sarah still owns horses and actively competes in show jumping and three-day eventing, and horses have been a big part of her life since the age of twelve. Her first horse may have been a gelding, but she has a bias for mares and has primarily owned mares throughout the years.
Besides writing equestrian novels, Sarah also writes articles for Sidelines Magazine.
When she isn’t writing or riding, Sarah also enjoys competing in local and national singing competitions, and mainly sings country music.
Today, Sarah lives in her hometown just outside of Columbus, Ohio, with her family which includes her husband, her two dogs, two cats and her two mares Tilly (a warmblood) and Letty (an off the track thoroughbred).
What a great finale to a fun series! The romance was sooo satisfying, and of course there was an epic crime solved by our equestrian hero. One of my favorite things - pulse pounding horse scenes where you can tell the author has lived it so we get to live it too. Enjoy careening around a cross-country course and horse shopping, just to name a few - all the things that I loved reading and living vicariously through the MC.
Fast read. It was a very good and I enjoyed reading it. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I enjoy the horse show jumping parts and the adventures!
This is was definitely my favorite of the three books in the trilogy. The adventure was fun and the pacing was better in my opinion. I was gifted a free copy of this book from the author so thank you so much to do. While this series isn’t perfect I definitely will continue to read her work and watch as she grows. My one main issue with this book is like all the others where I just feel like Emma does some things that in my mind just don’t always makes sense but I definitely was less frustrated with her in this book as I have been in the past. Also the mystery in this one was sooo good and I loved how it played out. Definitely didn’t see it coming while i was reading. I will say I wish this book was longer as I felt the pacing was off but I really did enjoy this book.
