I received an ARC for this book, and I was not prepared.

There are not enough stars for me rate how good this book is. I actually cried when it ended and I didn't have any more to read.

Amazing characters, amazing plot, wondrous magic that stole my breath away.

And wow, did this get 🌶🌶🌶 fast! So enticing.

Everything was intriguing and just the right amount of hinting at things to come as everything unfolded. An amazing example of a novel. This is going to be a huge hit.
I am going to be following this series, and I hope it never ends!

Where the Lights Lead is the first book in a fantasy romance/supernatural series by author L.H. Blake.

The story is dual POV following our two main characters, Will and Ellora, 20 somethings who work together at a local pub. Both Will and Ellora suddenly start to develop strange powers and find themselves being stalked by a mysterious figure. Together they will have to work together to uncover the truth about themselves, their powers and their future.

If you love steamy romance stories with fantasy/supernatural elements then you will love this charming and fun-filled book. The first half is a little slow as we are learning about our characters, however it really starts to pick up about the mid-point, throwing twist after twist leaving you wanting more. Being the first book in a series, be warned this one does end on a cliffhanger.
The relationship between the two main characters is fantastic and I loved learning alongside them about their new powers and abilities. The first half kind of had a superhero vibe about it, but the later half felt more fantasy/supernatural.

One thing I really enjoyed about this story was the authors focus on consent in the romantic scenes. This was very well done without taking away from the steaminess of the scenes.
If you love boy-falls-first, scorching romance and fun-filled action then do yourself a favor and pick up this book. I’d highly recommend and am looking forward to reading book 2 when it comes out.

Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced copy.

Loved this book! I don’t usually read fantasy but this was recommended to me and I enjoyed every minute of it! Blake has a compelling, captivating style and her characters are very relatable and complex. The romance plot is a major part of the book, so if you enjoy a romance with fantasy, some spicy scenes and a great, satisfying resolution, you won’t regret picking up Where the Lights Lead. I can’t wait for book 2!

Where the Lights Lead is a fantasy book with a strong romance component. It follows the adventures of Elora Green and Willan Reed, two twenty-something who work at a pub in Toronto. When they both begin discovering they're able to do some.... supernatural stuff, they collaborate and find out there might be more than a new love between the two of them. In fact, they might be the key for each other to find out where they come from and what they are.

Okay, five stars. Would give ten if I could. Will is THE STAR of the show. He's a little bit of an ass, cocky, confident, and is immediately obsessed with Elora. She's amazing too - temperamental, independent, broken - but I can't stress it enough, Will is just.... chef's kiss.

“There’s a sun here.”
“Yeah,” he says, “I thought it suited your sunshiny demeanor.”

Elora is another great character, but to be honest, Mariah and Alex were amazing from the start too. Even the "bad guys" - no spoilers, I promise - are likable and hatable at need.

The main thing about this book is—woah. THE TWISTS!

At some point, I almost thought I was reading the wrong book, but nope, the same amazing one! And when it all clicks and makes sense, you'll be wondering how the heck you didn't figure it out before. Just perfection.

I adored the banter, the *cough, cough* smut, the pining and slow-burn love. For romance readers picking this up, we're talking about a perfectly executed enemies to lovers, boy falls first, soulmate romance, with constant teasing and forced proximity. We're talking grovelling MC. Alfa. "Who did this to you?" vibes. It's the whole damn package. Did I mention I adore Will? I think I did.

Spiciness? Maybe 3.5 🌶 out of 5? Idk it was 🥵

I feel the bed lift off the floor as she’s pulled away from me and I can’t help but laugh as I push it back down.
“Wait for me, sunshine,” I chuckle.

On top of that, it's the first part of a series. YES. More Will....and Elora. But mostly more Will. LMAO. Though it ends on a cliffhanger, the story arc feels complete and I felt completely satisfied with the conclusion. Lots is left unanswered and there's many open doors for the coming books. But the main questions of the book find their answer, and mostly importantly, the romance ARC is something in between a HFN and a HEA.

It gave me shivers.

So, if you like a fantasy filled with romance, a bad first impression that turns out to be true love, and lots of twists and unexpected turns, this is the book for you.

I look up into his breathless face. “Don’t kiss me like it’s the last time.”
A sad smile crosses his face. “No, sunshine, I kissed you like that because you deserve to be kissed that way every single time.”

Personally, I'll be buying a physical copy - because, come on, how cute is that cover - and recommend it to whoever'll listen!

Okay, so this book was amazing!
The character development was so well done! You can’t help but love the characters! There was ANGST & TENSION for days! The plot was really good.

The PLOT TWIST, I did not see that one coming!

This is the first book in the series so it does end on a slight cliffhanger. Super excited to read the next book!

"Elora is life in technicolor"

I was a lucky in and got an ARC read for Where the Lights Lead by L.H. Blake

This is a wonderful story filled with magic, found family, betrayal, and the power of love.

When reading fantasy there is often a large portion of world building and learning the magic system. Blake does a wonderful job of weaving it in the story line in an organic way, as the main characters learn about it you do as well.

I like to think I can see the plot twists coming but I definitely did not see this one!

There is plenty of tension between Willan and Elora and as the book progress we get some spice.

"Your mine, all of you even the rough parts."

I cant wait for release day so all of you can read this book and let me know your thoughts. You can currently pre order this book in digital form from either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Get your kindle nook or iPad ready for November 15th!

As for me I will be anxiously awaiting the second book!

~Thank you L. H. Blake for the ARC in exchange for an honest review~

This book was a great read.

Two strangers whose souls call out to each other even if those souls have been stripped.

I know those people were meant to be adults but it kind of read like a teenage angst high school story. There were parts were I was just like dear God just bloody well get over yourselves and stop being such asshats. Maybe that's why I enjoyed it.

The story does go between now and past I feel it explains why the MMC is so stuck in his own head that he doesn't have any feelings, physical or emotional.

Please remember these are just my personal feelings.

I received an ARC of Where The Lights Lead in exchange for my honest review!

Uhm, WOW. Did I know at any moment where the ending was leading to? No. No I did not!

Going through this journey with Elora and Will was a rollercoaster to say the least. At the beginning, I thought it was going rather slow and wanted to get to the big plot. However, now finishing, that beginning was totally necessary! Because everything you know at the begin, or discover, is integral to the final information!

I cannot wait for book 2!

Well tie me up and call me a pig!

That was the most intense, beautiful and heartbreaking book I've ever read. Even better... there's a cliffhanger that isn't?

This is clearly a book 1 of a series, but the story in book 1 ends perfectly. L... this does NOT mean I don't need book 2 immediately. Because... well I do. Now.. no... like yesterday. I'm not going to sleep now.

The story was perfectly weaved with love and lies and betrayals. Some loose ends I hope we'll get conclusion too in coming books (like who exactly IS Hunter?).

Willan and Elora were both perfectly written tragic characters pulled apart by circumstance and I cannot wait to see what happens next for them. And the side characters! UGH! I want stories for them all. I know it's unreasonable. I don't care. I loved them all.

Now to see what happens when Will and El head home. Will the welcome be what they're expecting? Will they survive?

Run to read this one... and then suffer with me while we wait for book 2!

I received a free ARC of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.

This is a lovely world to play around in! We have our main couple who are absolutely adorable and watching them awkwardly discover each other, all the whole trying to wrangle new truths about themselves is a joy.

The book is a slow burn, almost to its detriment. I was beginning to wonder when the plot would take off when it finally started. So, you may find it lingering at first but it’s well worth the wait.

The world has a lot of mystery to it and I can’t wait to learn more about it!

Where the Lights Lead is the debut novel by L. H. Blake. It takes a unique dual POV following the two main characters, Will and Ellora. They are 20 somethings working in a Toronto pub and have powerful chemistry together that they fight from the moment they meet. When they meet, they also discover they have strange powers and have dreams and visions. Soon they come to realize that they share these gifts and become aware that there is something or someone sinister stalking them. They now know that they will need to work together to uncover the truth about themselves, their powers, what it means and why it connects them.

Something that I really appreciated is that Blake takes the time to really develop the characters and the relationship between them in an effortless, naturally flowing way. She also develops clear and conscious consent between the characters. In an age where we still fight against rape culture and blatant violence against women, it is genuinely reassuring to see authors so naturally include consent as part of what still becomes super steamy love scenes.

If you are a fan of scorching fantasy/supernatural romance stories, you will love this book. I didn't see the plot twist coming and the cliff hanger has left me eager for book 2 of the series!

This story follows Willan Reed & Elora Green through a journey of mystery & self reflection. I was completely captivated the entire time & was given just enough story at a time to be kept invested!! It opens with Will & Elora both survived fatal accidents at the same hospital which also caused some glitches to happen. Fast forward 2 years & they both suffer from some slight memory loss before those accidents had happen & it leads them to be working at the same establishment. The tension & build up to their meeting went great, there was some slight drama which I love. & we get a little slowburn spice toward the end. But this is about their story of finding each other & discovering where they’ve belonged all along. I can’t wait for the next one! It was a very slight cliffhanger so don’t worry!!

4.5 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

"'You've been the brightest thing in my life. When you're in the room, everything else is dull by comparison.'"

Where the Light Leads is the first new adult paranormal romance novel in the debut series by L.H. Blake. This novel follows the characters Will and Elora who discover supernatural abilities in themselves upon their meeting. Will has spent the last two years struggling to break through the numbness after a terrible accident took his family while Elora moves from city to city, seeking the truth about who she is. As they get closer and closer, a mysterious figure and force appears to be pushing them further together while also trying to destroy them. Whatever powers are out there, the truth lies in the past and Will and Elora the past does not want to remain quiet.

Will and Elora were absolutely adorable in this novel. They start off as enemies after their first encounter and I love how it evolved to this teasing faux enemies vibe before become something more real. Will falls hard and often uses animosity to hide his feelings while Elora has a tendency to shoot first, ask questions later. Together they created some delicious banter that I could not stop grinning about. I also appreciated the trauma and histories each character had that was explored with care - as in the characters were unable to slowly unveil it and not just info bomb it. I will also add their romance has all the cheese in the base way possible!

"'My God, you really should see how gorgeous you look when you want to stab me in the neck.'"

This is a new adult book with spice - we see the male character have relationships with other women before he meets Elora and ultimately we see the relationship evolve to sex between them. The scenes were good and I think they did an excellent job to show the emotions and states of mind the characters were in.

In terms of the world, I feel like we have only got a glimpse of it in this book. There is a lot of fascinating revelations in the paranormal element and I want to see more dived into, which should be the case if the ending has any bearing on it. What we see boasts a world of intrigue, deception, and magic that I live for in books. At the same time, I feel like we are going to lose some of the world building that the friends of Will and Elora provided and that does make me a little sad.

The plot was a little predictable in some regards but I felt it gave way to allow the characters to thrive and grow. In the first book, the establishment of the characters' relationships is key and I feel we finish off the book have an excellent understanding of who they are. I liked the twist brought in by the uniqueness of the paranormal element and the larger conflict helped me really invest in the characters.

To add, if you loved the vibe and feel of Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux series then I would say this is a spicier version with a much stronger female character.

Overall, if you are looking for a spicy paranormal romance with fun sexual tension, a growing world, and magic then this is a series to check out! I loved the attraction between the characters and had all the feels for them throughout! This novel ends of a semi-cliffhanger so it's not too bad but there are definitely some unanswered questions!

This is an ARC review.

Where the lights lead is a fantasy romance (yes there is some very very nice spice) set in Toronto with dual POV.
The story follows the life of Will and Elora after two years from two very peculiar accidents and loss of memory.
Let’s get one thing out of the way: Will is obsessed with Elora from the start, and I’m absolutely obsessed with Will.
Living in Ontario and working in Toronto made this story even more enjoyable. The fact that I knew and could picture where everything happened made me feel part of the story even more.
The light cliffhanger after all those plot twists (and trust me, there are A TON!) at the end makes me crave the sequel.
I read this in one sitting because every little twist made is so hard to put down.
This is a five star read for me and I really can’t wait for book 2 to come out!

💫 ARC Review 💫
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'd first like to express my deepest appreciation and thanks to Mrs. Blake for the opportunity of receiving an ARC.
Wow! This has been one of the best books I've read all year!
I love everything about this book (chapter 23, I'm looking at you🥲) and all of the characters- Mariah is sl sweet, I love her and cross my fingers that we get more of her🥺.
I would like to say though, for persons who prefer fast paced books, the beginning is easy going. However, I think Mrs. Blake wrote this book perfectly.
She laid the the foundation and builds the perfect story, each word, each line, each sentence, each paragraph, each page and each chapter, blend into a wonderful mix to create a beautiful story.
We follow will and El individually at the beginning- we learn about their feelings thoughts, experiences and their trauma from two years ago. I think each one of their story and build up were well detailed and i did not feel confused, lost or had questions. (The only questions I had, were the good kind that had me trying to figure out what really happened, what's the connection, how El and will got here and all my theories 😂.)
Then we get to the story where will and and El come together to discover their connection and that starts their story together ❤️.
Finally learning the truth was indeed satisfying. I couldn't have imagined where things led but I was super happy and excited. I'm fascinated by the little we learned about this new place and I cannot wait to see where things go in the next book! I hope we get answers and El and Will channel the inner badass!!!. Blake knows how to create the perfect story while keeping things fun and interesting!
Once again, thank you for the opportunity again and I look forward to what comes next 🖤🖤🖤🖤❤️‍🔥

STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, TWISTY PERFECTION

I can't handle how much I adored this book. I need to start with Will . . . and probably end with Will . . . and can I please please steal Will and have him myself because this man is GORGEOUS. Damn it, I have such a bad thing for cocky, sexy, bantery boys, so I honestly had no hope. He is panty-melting deliciousness, and he STILL manages to be earnest, serious and deeply, totally devoted.

Guy falls first, his big, passionate love that's too big to hold. I just CAN'T. HE LOVES HER SO MUCH 😭😭😭

Forget Elora, I'll be your sunshine. It's just the WAY he loves her too. She's the brightness, the beauty, the everything to him and she is HILARIOUSLY pushing back. The BANTER, the tension. It's all gold.

The side characters are beautiful and interesting. Alex is gorgeous and, man, what a best friend to Will.

And the twists. I fell off my chair. I DESPERATELY need book two because the twists in this book . . . but especially the last one . . . my dearest God. I NEED MORE. Not even religious, but I have to pray to someone, right? Maybe just the author.

PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY AND GET ME BOOK 2.

In short, would recommend. 🤣

Have you ever read a book that had you completely hooked and invested in the story after only reading the prologue? Well that was this book for me.

This book was heavy in the romance, and light on the fantasy elements, but that is expected with what this story is. We follow a line cook who has spent the last 2 years being a player, and a shy waitress starting work at a new job. They both have something in common that they don't know about the other yet. They both had horrible accidents 2 years ago that left them without their memories. When they meet things don't go as planned and they quickly become workplace enemies. As they both spend more time around each other they start notices changes in themselves.

This book was such a great set up for a series. It was so beautifully written and made you feel so invested in these characters. The heavy focus on the romance also set up a slow world build. This book is set in the modern world. The main characters lost their memories, so you are learning about the fantasy world as they are.

Finishing this book has me panting in anticipation to get book 2 (Which is what a good first book in a series does in my opinion).

**I did receive an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review**

Where the Light Leads is the first installment in a new series and I am all here for it! I absolutely adored this book! The book keeps you on an emotional roller coaster!

We have two MCs in this dual POV book. Both endured a tragedy that caused them to lose their memory around the exact same time. Will works at a pub that he found right after he left the hospital to restart his life. Ellora has bounced around since she woke up in the hospital, hoping to find a sliver of familiarity or someone to recognize her. She ends up working at the same pub that will does.

After a rocky start....these two are thrusted into a deep journey that will lead them to uncover secrets about their past. They will find that some people are not who they seem to be! I can't wait to see what happens next for Ellora and Will.

A love fantasy book that you won’t want to put down! Enemies to lovers and soulmates tropes! Love this book! Elora and Willan don’t have a very good first day together but the slow burn to more will make you keep turning the pages. And that plot twist!! I love the Atlantean tie in and the magic system. Definitely waiting anxiously for book two!

Where the lights lead by LH Blake is a great fantasy book woven with a slow burn enemies to lovers romance.

We start off the book following will, who lives a pretty solitary life as a kitchen line cook at a local pub. Will have been an accident two years prior to the current timeline. In this accident both of his parents died and it seems to have caused some sort of amnesia. He can't remember anything about his life prior to the accident. Feeling numb emotionally and physically since the accident, will use his casual hook ups as a way to try and cure his general numbing to the world. But he can't seem to find that connection that he's looking for. then enters Elora. A beautiful new waitress at the pub that he instantly feels a great attraction to. But of course they start off the book as enemies rather than lovers. He blunders their first meeting and spends a great deal of the book trying to make up for that and get on her good side. Turns out will and elora are actually destined for each other. In more ways than one. Elora was also in an accident two years prior and cannot remember anything about her life prior to the accident. Discovering that they both have magical powers and are somehow tied to each other they set off on a quest to figure out what happened before their loss of memory and it takes them on an epic adventure. This does end on a cliffhanger I cannot wait for the second book.

Overall I'd give this book a solid 5/5. With the exception of the plot clearly continuing in the second book, all plot holes from the first book were filled. You definitely build a relationship with the characters and they have great character development throughout the book. I definitely cannot wait for the second book to come out.

I read this as an ARC for an honest review and I’m kind of all over the place.

I started and finished Where The Lights Lead in a day. The beginning caught my interest but half way through my mind started to wander. There were times where I was pushing through because I wanted it to pick up more and I wasn’t ready to give up on the story. Once the plot twist happened though I was like “WHERE WAS THIS EARLIER!”. I am here for it, didn’t see it coming, and need to know more about that part of the story! I’m huge fan of fantasy and now that I’ve finished the book I have SO many questions about what I read and what will happen. I’m usually not a fan of pet/nicknames but for me Sunshine worked. The mixed use of it in banter and in an affection way balanced out enough for me to be okay with it.
