Some secrets should not be kept. They should be screamed.

I have a secret.

In fact, I have many. Most of them could get me killed, so my silence is the golden ticket to survival in this asylum from hell.

But my watchers don’t like it when I’m silent. They like when I scream. When I beg. When I’m a bad girl who tells the things I shouldn’t.

Maybe this time I’ll let it all out. Divulge the ugly truths and cast light on the real monsters living in our world.

Maybe my secrets will save me this time.

They’d have to because once my watchers find out, they’ll want to finish off the job my first secret started all those years ago.

Chapel Crest isn’t the place where love blooms and dreams come true. It’s where the love is violent and unpredictable. It’s where the monsters grin from the shadows and where promises are deadly.

Chapel Crest is where screams are made.

My screams.

The Boys of Chapel Crest is a dark asylum academy romance with multiple love interests, no choosing, and a heroine who is mute. Check author’s website for more information on content.

This one is a bit difficult to review, cause it was good, but at the same time not a lot happened. This is a "set-the-scene" book, I think. Even if it's book #3.

It also could it be that there was less 'Asylum screen time', and since last book, he's on a whole other level for me, and the others inevitably pale in comparison.
✨"When I was five, my old man took me to see a guy in the city. I listened to them talk. I watched as they dined. They offered me something to eat"
"And?"
"I guess it was the traumatic event. Turns out, it was a thirty-eight-year-old man who owed some very bad men a Iot of money"
Sin curled his lip up at me, his face positively green with revulsion
"To be fair, I didn't eat it, but I felt it. Does that make sense?"

STITCHES
Stitches

I do feel for Stitches and I'm glad he's over his ordeal. He has a truly heartbreaking story, both distant and recent past, but he's easily my least favorire watcher for some reason.

ASHES
Ashes

Ashes is definitely the good boy here, but the way he dirty talks... Yeah, definitely my second favorite watcher.

✨ We were a devil and an angel on her delicate shoulders whispering sinful things into her ears.
I was certain Church's words were far dirtier than what I was telling her. I preferred the build-up while Church was more about the tear-down.

MIRAGE
Mirage

Mirage. Mirage was truly the highlight of this book for me. I wanted to know more and I still have so many questions. It can't help but enforce my new-found and absolute predilection for anything-Seth.
✨"I've been watching you. You've closed yourself off to me. Why are you so afraid? It's just us. Here. Alone. I've saved you more than I've hurt you. That means something, doesn't it?"
When I didn't say anything, he continued.
"It's me." His voice was almost desperate. Pained.
I closed my eyes and breathed out. 'What should I call you like this? Because it's not you.'
He leaned in and whispered in my ear. "Mirage."

✨“Do you want to forget your world for a moment and get lost in mine?” he asked.
I stared up at him, intrigued. I wanted to be out of my head in the worst way.
“Tell me,” he whispered.
Yes.
He smiled at me and backed away. “You be the fox. I’ll be the rabbit. Catch me if you can.” He darted off into the night while I stood there for a moment.

I knew this game.
It was called Chase.
I was usually the rabbit though.

Sirena: Sirena was a mixed bag for me in this one. On one side she is starting to be more empowered, talking more and taking over control, but she does still take a lot of shit without complaint, and it makes her personality a bit hard to emerge. She is surely very confused, and I'm a bit confused too trying to decide if it's cute or not so much.

Cady: she's getting on my nerves. I can't see any value for her in the story.

Adam: well, here we go, Bells respawned in male form.

✨ I turned and gasped, taking in the guy before me who certainly wasn’t Mirage.
“Hello, Sirena,” Adam said, smiling at me from beneath a black rabbit mask. “I heard you like rabbits.”

Bryce: I really really don't like him. I'm not super excited for him to be in line to be added to the RH in the future. But I'm open to plot twists. He's too vanilla right now. It also kinda makes her feel a bit greedy.

✨ Then there was Bryce. He kept playing at the edge of my feelings, making me feel even more confused I hadn't spent a lot of time contemplating him. It was all just too much right now. All I knew was that I cared deeply for him. Too deeply for him just being my friend It made my chest constrict with the agony of knowing...
Right now, my focus was on the watchers though.

We finally are getting glimpses of the cannibalism thing, even if not as I expected.

Honorable mention: the blood scene. So many conflicting feelings about that. 😂 Can't say anything else other than check your 'ew' trigger warnings though.

Well. I devoured this one just like the previous. This is one of those books where not a lot happens, but a lot is learned. If that makes sense. Lots of insight on characters, and lots of just confusing shit too lol. I can only hope I remember everything by the time the next book comes out.

Also, there is no hint of any MM in this harem, but I would like to go on record and say I would read a whole book with Sin and Asylum ;)

None of this makes any sense. Mysteries keep popping up like it isn’t the second to last book in the series. Really squeezing out a series that should have been 3 books.

Listen. FMC can’t catch a fucking break. Like holy shit at this point I’m desensitized to this poor girls trauma. It’s just that never ending. And for what? A dark romance? This series is just a poorly written dark romance at best and at worst it’s messy trauma porn.

I’m not fucking kidding.

This is like the fourth time she’s been raped and that’s not including the cnc [puke].

Her lovers treat her more like a toy than an adult woman. Toxic, abusive, manipulative men who take away your choice and throw tantrums when you fight back should not be romanticized. She can’t even have fucking friends. These men are abusers in their own right. Absolutely disgusting. This isn’t a romance at all. And the thing is- absolutely no character growth to be found anywhere. No redemption.

Anyway, I won’t touch anything else this author writes.

Lord was this book phenomenal! I think this one is my favorite in this series so far! Absolutely love all the different POVs we got. Then let’s not forget the crazy amount of info drops and crumbs throughout this whole book! Pretty sure my jaw dropped multiple times.

This one was definitely more emotional than the first couple. There’s been a lot of trauma and craziness so far for these characters, and in this book, it really hits them all emotionally. They’re all struggling with what is going on, what to do, and their feelings about everything. My heart hurt so much for all of them. That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of funny lines and so many smexy times!

We also start to see different sides to these characters. Sirena starts to have more of a backbone and stands her ground for certain things she wants. Church shows a softer side here and there. Stitches and Sin are just going through it all, and the struggle is real for them. Ashes temper flares a bit. And I won’t mention any other characters (cue smirk).

Definitely pay attention to every little thing or you’ll miss big clues! Prepare yourself for the cliffhanger that will leave you screaming no! I cannot wait to see what happens next!!

This book was probably the most difficult book to read in the series, definitely check your triggers. I will say this one does move a bit slower than the rest, but it is necessary to set up the next book. If you’re looking for a series that will give you all the emotions and leave you on the edge of your seat flipping the pages to find out what happens this is for you! Asylum with give you an absolute mind trip, I was truly thinking I belonged in Chapel Crest right along with these characters while reading this.

I highly recommend this series on audio, full cast narration, and the narrators do a fantastic job bringing these characters to life!

I have in fact read this series twice, and now thanks you Blue Nose Audio had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I cannot fathom how none of my GR friends has read this series because it is phenomenal! Especially you, my dark romance girlies.

In Stitches, there is a lot going on but at the same time, things don’t actually progress that much.

When did shit gets so fucking complicated?
Easy enough to answer. The moment Sirena came into our lives.
Fucking damnit.

Sirena is definitely showing personal growth with becoming more bold and brave. She also expresses herself a lot more and has grown a backbone in the sense that she does not go along with everything she is told to do, instead, she sticks up for her own desires and opinions. Honestly, though, she does not act anything like a rape victim and I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. Oh, and she still keeps way too many secrets and does not really think of her own safety. Instead, she goes and does stupid things.

I wanted to be the nightmare she couldn’t wake from. Couldn’t escape from.
If that wasn’t true love, I didn’t know what was.

Church is still a possessive mf but learning to share Sirena. His father is proven problematic, again, which pisses him off to no end because he is used to doing whatever he wants without having to take someone else into consideration.

I let out a shaky breath, relishing the way it felt to be loved by him.
Asher Valentine was pure fire. My firestorm.

Ashes is being his rational and sweet self, once again. He is the voice of reason for the watchers and besides his pyromania, he seems to be the most normal out of the bunch.

I hated feeling trapped.
It reminded me of the shit I couldn’t get out of my head. The way it felt for the hands to be on my body. The mouths. Lips. Tongues. Other. . . things.

Stitches is going through a bit of an existential crisis. He is trying to accept and move on from all that happened while he was admitted to the medical ward. However, it proves to be difficult since it strains his relationship with Sirena because he blames himself for what happened to her. I understand naming this book Stitches because after the watchers find out what happened to him (and he gets confirmation on it all himself as well), he finally starts mending his relationship with Sirena. This book is, indeed, heavily focused on Stitches, how the past events have affected him, how he overgrows them and how his relationship with Sirena progresses.

At the end of it all though, he really was right. I had to pick myself up. This was my life now, whether I liked it or not. My new reality.
I’d gambled and paid the ultimate price.
Eventually, the sin catches up to the sinner.
And this was my personal hell.

Sin is definitely on the way to redemption. He has been punishing himself enough and has finally stopped it. He has realized his feelings for Sirena at this point, finally. There are a few encounters with Sirena where he helps her and is not threatening in any way but she still does not trust him. I feel like Sin also has a bigger purpose for the whole story and I am excited to read his book! I do hope that he gets back in with the watchers.

I hadn’t really liked Cady when I’d first met her, but she’d grown on me. Sort of like a tumor.

Cady is still a bit of a mystery to me. I mean, she is a legit badass and I love how she sticks up for Sirena, to everyone. However, she is still relatively minor side character and I am waiting for what her purpose with coming to Chapel Hill will be. Oh, and she definitely does not have the best track record with men so I am hoping we see who she ends up with!

Knowing Asylum was in deep with my father pissed me off. I wasn’t surprised though. My father did adore the gifted and wicked. Asylum was a shoo-in.

Asylum has ended up being one of my favorite characters at this point. He is such a complicated character and I just want to know more about him! On one hand, he is really shitty and on the other hand, he is just too intriguing for his own good. I mean, I really want to know his secret: how he knows what will happen, how he gets his visions and what his mental illness is.

A mirage in the distance and an asylum at her back. Her sin in her heart, then nothing she will lack.

After Asylum, it is only logical to talk about Mirage. I think he is Seth but I am not sure anymore. For two books, it has been clear now that Seth and Asylum are different people but I still am not sure if they are actually twins or if they are two different personalities of the same person. Is Mirage Seth or is he someone else? What’s clear is that he definitely works for or with Asylum and I guess Asylum is the dominant of the two.

Bryce is the odd one out. He had a bigger role in Church but in Ashes, he was pretty much a no-show for the whole book. Now, he has reclaimed his spot as Sirena’s friend and it has been revealed that there are some budding feelings between the two. But the ending confused me big time. Why was Bryce wearing the bunny mask? He is not Mirage is he? If not, how did he end up wearing the bunny mask? Has he been following Sirena? Is he not the good boy we all thought he was?

I just have to conclude this review with how am I supposed to wait two months for the next book?! Anyone know how I could get my hands on an ARC for Sinful?!

I can honestly say I tried before I dnf this series. The only character worth a damn was Cady everyone else sucked.
Sirena was no better than a futuristic sex doll with no personality or backbone.
Church is a violent rapist with daddy issues
Asher is a boring coward who's just there to remind people these characters are supposed to have mental illnesses
Sin is a pos who doesn't deserve forgiveness or redemption but I'm sure he'll get it 🙄😒
Poor Stitches needs to get away from his " friends" and heal somewhere safe for his mental and emotional health
Asylum/ Mirage/ Seth being prophetic is a strange addition considering the book genre and he also deserves to sit in a government hole somewhere fighting eachother until only one survives long enough to get taken put by Cady.
This book romanticizes SA, abuse, and idiot female characters. I wouldn't recommend it to the most deviant of my acquaintances.

What just happened?
Im appalled by yet another cliffhanger!

I can't express how deeply invested I am in this series .. each one darker than the last. Each one raises surprise and shock at every turn.
Not an ounce of repetition to be found .. settle in for some seriously complex plot within this series! I thought I knew, I thought I had it sussed - I knew NOTHING!

This series must be read in order. It's a continued plot line.

here i go again - but this team floors me - every single book.
The emotions that come from these narrators - wow .. just wow!
THey aren't just voice actors - they've given life to these characters in a way that im fully invested and captivated by every word.
I've done my fair share of audiobooks this past year, but the boys of Chapel Crest is by far the best in every way.

KG has produced an absolutely outstanding series - pairing that with the narrators she's selected, its an absolute experience!

I've finally (in book 4) decided that i do like asylum 🤣 its only taken 4 books 🤣 i love Sean's representation of him. He brings that complex humour to the surface, which is a welcome repreave from all the tension.
I love all the MCs, and I am grateful it's a why choose because trying to choose between Ashes, Sin, and Stitches is something I cannot commit to! (Although Sin holds a very special spot in my heart, and I'm ready for his book next)
I love Cady - she's a force to be reckoned with. And I hate Everett Church with my whole being!

This series is becoming more and more difficult to review - mainly because I dont want to repeat what I've said previously, and i dont want to give spoilers. but know this, once u start this series, u won't be able to stop .. I'm really struggling between the audiobook releases 🥺 the wait is too much 🤣 but I can't not continue with the audio because they are just sooo good.

As always, please dont overlook the production team .. Producing a multi narrated series has to be such a complex job by wow they do make it look easy.

3 books left of this series - I'm grateful but also disappointed because I'm so attached. I have recently learned that KG universe does have overlap, so I'm grateful that I have much more of her world to explore.

This series is getting progressively darker with each book, so please familiarise yourself with the content. Your Mental Health Matters.
The character development for each MC is executed beautifully, their mental conditions expressed with tenderness and accuracy. KG clearly spends a lot of time researching the conditions and doesn’t steer off course.
Overall, this series holds 10/5 rating for me, and i highly recommend for those that love asylum based settings.

Not a lot happens in this book until the end but not a lot needed to happen. The character building and world building is just so brilliantly done. This one was dealing with the trauma they had all gone through, until more traumatic events happen to Sirena 😢. That girl has had to endure so much. I really need her to get her HEA.
The writing and story telling is just phenomenal and I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about this series 😍 I’m literally obsessed!! I love all of the characters and all of their stories.
Sin had my heart in this one ♥️ he is a broken man with so many emotions and so much self loathing and inner turmoil. They all have their individual issues and their love for each other is just beautifully written and so so perfectly executed. Church is a psychopath and I just love him! Ashes is the softy with a biting temper. Stitches just has my heart. Even asylum is growing on me. Mirage is just an added bonus to this series and I love the magical feeling he brings. The cliffhanger in this one just broke my heart and I’m scared to read the next one 😢.
This series is one of the best I’ve read and it and the characters literally have my heart ♥️

how much more can home girl take.

I’ve been on the edge of my seat since Church. Have not been able to put the series down but Stitches captivated me. I love this f*cked up world and all the chaos but in that chaos is just a bunch of guys that love their girl who is forever under a threat. Just when I feel like I know what’s going to happen I’m back at square one. Especially with how this ended.

Falling deeper down the rabbit hole

Chapel Crest is getting wilder, darker and more wicked with each book. Sirena and her boys are back and they’re not here to play.

I love the richness of the characters in all the Chaosverse books. I particularly love how each character grows and changes - not always for the better. The shining star of this book is absolutely Sirena as we get to see her come into her own.

There are crumbs galore and answers hidden in plain sight for those who know what they’re looking for.

Stitches cannot be read as a standalone - unless you want to be really confused! Pay VERY close attention to the trigger warning list and read responsibly.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to see how deep the rabbit hole goes…

My Rating: 3.75 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Series Rating: TBD

We Have
✅ Reverse Harem
✅ Even more OTT Possessive
✅ More Men than I care to count ATP
✅ Cannibalism
✅ Somnophelia
✅ LOTS of Mental Health Issues
✅ Incset (yep!)

This all started with the first book Church and I had some really wild jaw-dropping revelations. I was disappointed at first because I thought this was gonna end up a slow burn with repetitive scenes.... then I moved on to book 2 "Ashes"... WHen I thought shit could NOT be more fucked up, this book told me to sit the fuck down and just watch 😏😏.. I said ok ... Impress me - Show me what you got..

Whelp this psycho K.G. Reuss said "bet" just you wait. AAAAND here we are. These reviews are hard because soooo much happens and more times than I can fucking count, I said - out loud - OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I'm so confused. I don't know And if its an addition we're now up to 6 in this why choose story. This chick has BEEN. THROUGH. IT. and now information is being released bit by bit and its fucking with me. This book was almost 4 stars but it fell short with the length - I know the author wants to give each character their own story - but the books are multiple POVs and that kind of drowns out the book for this specific character. The main person on the cover isn't even the MAIN person in this story.. if that makes sense. Meaning they are all a part of a universe and shit happens with each and every one of them - of course, their stories are all intertwined. But each book continues the story... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't know man...

I keep saying the same phrase over and over - just when i think shit can't go ANY further left... this chick sits me down, and slaps the shit out of me saying "Don't fucking doubt me"...

... At this point, all I can do is hold my jaw with my mouth wide open in fucking shock and say "yes ma'am".

This story is taboo, it's fucking dark, it's UNHINGED as fuck... and I couldn't stop this train wreck if I wanted to. ... Let the good times roll.....

DNF @49%. Series started out so good in book one and then took a dive. What happened in the facility, and Stitches being gullible about the drugs he’s given, didn’t resonate with how the characters are suppose to be these bad asses. Same with how they allow the Dr. and Stitches and Church’s Dad to call the shots. Plus, it’s dragging on and on. Over it.

This series is quickly turning into a favorite of mine. I know it will be up there as one of my favorites of the year.

This book has so many twists and turns. Just when I think I have something figured out KG Ruess goes and pulls the rug from underneath me. You never know what's gonna happen next or exactly what's going on. I think that could easily make a book confusing or make you loose interest. This however does none of that. KG Reuss has you on the edge of your seat, but also so completely enthralled and obsessed with the story, that you just have the best freaking time.

Stitches is still my favorite. He went through so much s*** in the previous book, I really enjoyed seeing him find himself again and maybe even forgiving himself a little.

We finally get Sirena to talk. Once again I liked how the author waited this long for her to talk. I'm sure having a mute heroine was difficult to write at times, because typically dialogue is what moves a story forward. So I'm actually really impressed with how that was done.

That ending was crazy and proved once again that I didn't have it all figured out.

I know it will be some time before the final books are released so I'll just be waiting impatiently.

Just when you think you know and have a handle of what to expect and assuming you may have it figured out when it came to The Boys of Chapel crest. Author KG proves you wrong by ripping the rug out right from under you courtesy of the unexpected twists and turns she threw in, alongside the emotionally charged, rollercoaster ride whirlwind of a narrative to book 4 in the series; Stitches.
Then again it’s not surprising since they don’t call her Queen of Cliffy, Suspense, Heartbreak and Torture for nothing!

The narrators Stella Ripley, J. Tipstone, Edward Black, Joe Arden, Michael Gallagher and Sean Masters continued with narrating, while bringing to life their perspective characters in book 4; Stitches from The Boys of Chapel Crest series.

The marks just kept on hitting with their incredible voices, particularly J. Tipstone who was being put through the paces, given the battles he was fighting from the trauma he endured and continued to face.
Yet again he truly continued to embody Stitches to a tee as the storytelling progressed.

All the other narrators played their part very well too, ensuring they conveyed their characters too. So that even though you were only hearing their voices, you could still feel all the emotions behind anything and everything they had to say.

However with that said, I can’t deny there was a minor issue and that was Joe Arden.
I don’t know what between now and the previous three books from The Boys of Chapel Crest series.
But Joe seemed to have fell short in my opinion when it came to voicing Church this time round.
It felt more like he was just reading off the pages, sounding monotone as opposed to embodying Church and colourfully expressing his voice from bringing him to life off the pages.

Again those steamy scenes hit the mark. And again I could not keep a straight face upon listening to considering, how hard it had me blushing hearing it play out.

While it’s no surprise the narrators bought their A game yet again.
There’s no denying of there being one exception and that was Joe Arden. Compared to his narration in Church, Bells and Ashes, this time round he definitely didn’t bring his A game.
He just seemed to come across very monotone in his narrating. As if he was just reading what was written, instead of actually embodying the character of Church.

Despite my issue when it came to Joe, given the power that J. Tipstone, Stella Ripley, Edward Black, Sean Masters and Michael Gallagher bought to the table. It didn’t stop me from having thoroughly enjoyed listening to the continuation of Stitches, Sirena, Ashes, Seth/Asylum, Church and Sin being brought to life yet again.
They came through in bringing Stitches to life.
I highly recommend. Especially if you have already read the book, so you can read and listen together making the experience even better.

wow - again what a rollercoaster.
I loved this book - it had me giggle and sobb at the same time.

What I loved about this book:
I loved Sin and Asylum together.
They are both such great character, but them both in a room and boom ...
loved how their friendship developed.

My watcher Boys - Asher valentine
i stay forever my number 1 - so much caring all burden of everyone.
He is my firestorm - but my favorite watcher.

Church
I did not like him in the first books - here i am hating him so much.
that is not love what he is doing, this is disgusting.
i can`t tell what sirena sees in him, but if somebody would treat me like shit - no not for.

Stitches
His story was so sad :(
i felt so bad with him, hopefully he is getting better.

Mirage
I want to know more- who is he. I am intrigued.

“We’re at Chapel Crest. All our nightmares are real here.”

The trigger warnings are real! Another good read but my heart 💔🤯😵‍💫

Stitches
“If I could only love one thing in this world, I'd choose you for eternity.”

Ashes - My sweet, troubled pyro.
“Once I’m fully inside you, Sirena, you’ll be my new home forever.”

Dante
“You don’t get to be mad at me for loving you,”

Sirena
“I was the watchers’ girl, and that meant I needed to be stronger than my fear.”

I LOVE Asylum’s rhymes!!
“A mirage in the distance and an asylum at her back. Her sin in her heart, then nothing she will lack. She will be ours. Then this world falls.”
