When things fell apart, they fell apart fast, leaving Ben to pick up the pieces.
Unwilling to succumb or surrender, he’ll do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of his crew. Already far behind the eight ball, it’s going to take strength, resilience, and fortitude he never knew he had to get back into the fight.
If he doesn’t, everyone he cares about will die.
The adventure of a lifetime continues in the sixth installment of the #1 sci-fi bestselling Starship For Sale series. If you like found starships, unlikely heroes, and intergalactic mayhem, you’ll love Starship For Sale.

This is number 6 of the series. While the author tries to be unpredictable, after a few strange turns, the read becomes pedantic. It seems each book seems to stray farther from the original premise. This series needs to find a solution before the author gets lost and the readers leave to another serial.
Great title and the books seem to be getting shorter or maybe I am reading them faster. Al I can say is badabing badaboom and that’s as far as I can go. I really, really need to know where the next book is, in hyperspace , in print or just downright in the authors brain. Please get it down on paper, , soon.
What a great series. M R Forbes proves yet again to be one of the great story tellers. Starship for Sale, with each episode, grabs the reader and immerses them into the fun, angst, excitement and goals of the group while easily creating well developed character background that is easy to identify with. Bravo and well written! Again I eagerly await the next in the series!
Absolutely loved Eight Ball, book 6 in the Starship for Sale series. Book 5 left us on a cliffhanger with Ben in a predicament and all his friends taken by Sedaya’s henchmen. Ben finds away to etch the sigels on his skin which surprisingly work and at last act on his cancer and also give him impressive sigeltech skills. The book continues with a meet up with Duchess Dryka, a collaboration, a new crew and Head Case makes haste for a remote station to hopefully find a new reactor to power the ship since the Star of Caprum was taken. Eight Ball ends on another classic cliffhanger and the surprise return of Keep! Can’t wait for the next instalment!

As long as you’re fine with cliffhangers, you can’t go wrong with this series.
It hasn’t fallen into the “oh, this again?” trap you can all but count on with long series (could be because each book is relatively short and zippy). The overall plot continues to move satisfyingly without too much repetitive back and forth with each arc.
The last book definitely ended with the dark night of the soul, so I anticipate the series will end in the next few books. Time will tell. But so far, I’m still enjoying this series immensely and can’t wait for the next installment.
It’s a good thing that I have retired because when I start one of these books I can’t put it down. AND THEN… the end starts the next book!!! So I find myself still up at 5:30 or 6:30 reading! But I love books like this. And I love not having to skip over to bypass the sex in the book. This has been an eye opener, I love it. I will defiantly read the other books by this author, M. R. Forbes.
I have had a compulsion to read this series since the first book. I'm not sure if it's the universe the author has set up or the way he writes it, but it's altogether a great read. I read it way too fast after getting my hands on it, and now I'm irritated with myself that I have to wait to read the next one.
Punch lines aside…. I enjoyed Star Ship for Sale all 6 books and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! I have to admit I’m not a fan of cliff hangers but you do have me hooked. Keep writing MR Forbes and I’ll keep reading your stories.
I suggest reading the series in order, because you'll be lost in space otherwise. Eight Ball has an extremely high body count. The story is a non-stop thrill ride with a new supporting cast, including my favorite Ixital. Ben is a great narrator and a wonderful character. I'm looking forward to book 7.
The main reason for my 3 star rating was the absence of the character interplay which made the story so appealing. The moment a familiar character presents himself the book ends. I do look forward to the next installment because, with whatever change comes, the gang will be back together and the banter will return to the story line.

I started this series on Thursday and just finished Eight Ball Sunday morning, I could not put it down. It is incredibly fun Star Wars/Guardians of the Galaxy matinee fare and now that I've thought of it I would love to see it in a comic book or video format. If you have Kindle Unlimited, you should absolutely give this series a try.
Book #6 of starship for sale, eight ball is a really good book. I love all the situations the main character gets his self into. I like all the characters in the book. I can't wait for the next installment. Please keep them coming!! Oh, I like his new crew. Especially1 in particular.
Took a chapter to get into it this time, but only because of waiting so long to refresh my memory of the characters. The saga continues as Ben finds himself in a mess of trouble left alone in the space station. Then he finds out he's not alone. Friends or foe? A new ally? Join Ben as he searches for his missing crew.
Michael has done it again w/8 ball! I loved the earliest books in this series. But 8 ball is a nice sequel. Keep it up Master Forbes, You definitely qualify as a master SF writer. Doc Smith & Foundation, live again! Asimov's robots and star wars, rolled into your works, Star Trek too I enjoyed this series sooooo much. A++++
The flow of the story from the previous book was very imaginative and held my interest throughout! The whole concept of a kid good at video games becoming a starship capital is an impressive plot, along with his learning curve all the while battening metastatic cancer issues is, how else can you say it “CAPTIVATING” !!!!
But afterwards it got better. I do think that the book is getting close to a big HUH??. I like the premise of the story but these runes are beginning to have an effect on his writing. It appears that whenever he gets stuck in the story he now comes with new powers for our hero to escape danger. A decent read but not great
The book doesn’t pull punches as it opens with Ben very much behind the eight ball in every way. Heartsick at the losses suffered both by Blorb and further pain caused by Sedaya Ben has to not only find a way to survive but then to repair Head Case so that he can search for his remaining missing friends & then get some kind of revenge.
Another rocking installment of an out of this world series
I am definitely hooked on this series as the characters and the story are very compelling and interesting. Storyline is quick and the characters seem genuinely different from each other so it's not a cookie cutter author. Once I finish with this series I'm going to be looking for other books by Mr Forbes.
Ben survives abandonment on omega a secret laboratory. Not so perfect metals are imbedded deep under his skin with surgical precision. Will new found power and discovery aboard headcase be enough to save his crew?
Ben is back, beaten down and hurting. He needs to heal up, get his sigil tattoo done, and rescue the crew of h the Head Space. A little help from some new friends and he is on his way..
At the end of the last book I was furious. Ben was lost, between the proverbial rock and a hard place. He is far from home free but you sort of pulled his fat from the Fire. Now comes the worst part, waiting for the next book!
New crew, new challenges, and a new direction. The only real problem with this story is that I 'll have to wait for the next installment for it to explode but the the fuse is lit!
Just when things seem like they're coming together there's a New twist to the story line! I want to continue reading but have to wait for the next book!
At the start of the story Ben is on his own because his usual crew has been captured by the bad guys. He quickly builds a new team and they look for a way to find the missing crew. A great read.
Wow from the throws of desperation where Ben is close to death to finally finding a way to rid himself of the cancer. Also joining a new group who hates Sedaka as much as he does. One adventure after another
Wow, what a ride. With Mr. Forbes telling a tale that keeps me hooked in at all times. I have loved this story from the premise in Book One:Starship For Sale. It has kept me engaged for 6 books now and so no sign of slowing down.
I just can’t read these books fast enough to see what is going to happen next…… I am definitely on the edge of my seat during most of the book, I am going to be devastated when I get to the end
Another really dam good read. All I can say is what about ? . You finally find out something then there is a twist at the end that just well read and find out. I will say I already looking for the next book lol
Okay 2 resurrections in one book? Lots of action, running and gunning. Futuristic technology that is actually ancient? Our hero is also now a Superhero n a mission to rescue his crew. I loved the spider ninja alien too.
This isn't a series that you analyze closely. It is light-hearted and fun, not to be mistaken for serious. Fiction, it is called, for a reason. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, but don't take it too seriously. Can't wait for the next volume of foolish fun.
