Dangerously Bound shifts the emotional tone of the High Protocol series again, this time into a story that feels raw, impulsive, and unexpectedly tender. Gabriella Ricci is the kind of heroine who looks unshakeable from the outside—sharp, competent, and in control—but Waters lets you feel the cracks beneath that polished surface. Her fear of attractive men isn’t played for drama; it’s rooted in betrayal, in the kind of emotional bruising that makes desire feel risky. So when she climbs onto the back of Vance’s motorcycle, it isn’t just a reckless moment—it’s a leap she’s never allowed herself to take.
Vance is the perfect foil for her. He’s rough around the edges, tattooed, unapologetically sensual, and carrying a past that still bites at his heels. What makes him compelling isn’t the “bad boy” image—it’s the way he’s trying to rebuild himself without pretending he’s someone he’s not. He’s a man who has lived hard, made mistakes, and learned the cost of them. That sense of unworthiness he carries gives his connection with Gabriella a surprising vulnerability. He wants her, but he’s convinced he shouldn’t.
Their chemistry works because it’s messy and uneven. The books in this series are perfectly BDSM Club romance books, each hitting tropes of a different subgenre perfectly.
Vance is a Bad Boy Biker (reformed). Gabriella is a high-pressure businesswoman with a poor choice in boyfriends and who has never had an orgasm. The clashes are intense. But not as intense as the attraction.
It turns out Gabriella's boss is Alex Ferraro, owner of High Protocol (not known to Gabriella). Vance is a member of High Protocol and Alex saved his life and helped pull him out of the MC lifestyle. Obviously, there are lots of revelations.
A great book. Tightly written. Quite well done.
The entire series is a joy.

I definitely can’t pick a favourite from this series, but this book really did it for me!
Even though I’ve done this backwards and read the heller raiders series before this one I loved seeing the little references of those books in this one.
What I think really had me hooked with this novel is the instant protectiveness Vance has for Gabi, and I do love a bad boy so obviously I’d love the mmc of this book, because boy is he baddd, but also he’s so sweet to the fmc who has had less than stellar experience with the opposite sex.
I loved this authors take on the one night stand trope, because while this book starts of with a not so one night stand trope I loved how that set up the relationship between these two who just keep coming back to each other for more. Like moths to flames these two were written for each other and I couldn’t get enough of them.
My time with this series is coming to an end but I will be rereading these baby’s often!

Looking for a couple with scorching chemistry? Then give Dangerously Bound a read. Vance is beyond dreamy and Gabriella made his perfect compliment. I love that KyAnn has so many round side characters in this book. I don't think you need to be into BDSM to root for Vance and Gabriella. I highly recommend this book to all erotic romance fans.

Beautifully Written and Intense Story!
Dangerously Bound is book 5 in the Initiation into Submission: High Protocol series. This is another entertaining story in this BDSM romance genre. I would recommend reading the series from the beginning since many of the characters from the previous books appear here. And, be sure not to miss KyAnn Waters’ Heller Raiders MC series, it stands on its own but you will meet a few of the characters from the High Protocol series there too. I loved Gabby and Vance in Heller Raiders and was thrilled to get to read about their beginning here in Dangerously Bound!
I am off to read the next one, Perfectly Played!
