Typical bank heist but done with a good use of the cyberpunk 2077 line, notably through the brain dance VR. Ended out much more interesting than it should logically have been.

The book being very colorful thanks to Fabiana Mascolo, Roberto Ricci’s rather cartoony style is quite well adaptated to the plot. Designs are good and storytelling is on the same page.

Це історія не про гучні чи видовищні перестрілки, а про маленьку людину в гігантській системі, яка перемелює всіх без винятку. Саме такий підхід робить «Блекаут» особливо сильним.

Головний герой нейро-технік Артуро, який щодня ремонтує пристрої, що дарують людям ілюзію щастя, втечу від болю та травм. Але за цією «допомогою» ховається інша правда: технології не лікують, а лише консервують страждання, перетворюючи їх на зручний товар. Артуро гостро відчуває цю фальш, і його внутрішня боротьба з відчаєм, провиною та ненавистю до себе прописана напрочуд переконливо. Комікс сміливо торкається тем депресії, суїцидальних думок, ескапізму та відповідальності за власні вчинки, не даючи простих відповідей і залишаючи простір для роздумів.

Окремо варто відзначити, як автори працюють з поняттям «блекауту». Це не лише технічні відключення в перенасиченому енергією мегаполісі, а й внутрішні злами персонажів, моменти, коли все завмирає, щоб з’явився шанс на зміни. Історія балансує між надією та безвихіддю, показуючи, що навіть щире бажання зробити добро може мати важкі наслідки, але це не привід нічого не робити.

Візуальний стиль Роберто Річчі чудово контрастує з жорстокістю світу. Малюнок тисне атмосферою, підкреслюючи пригніченість, втому й самотність Найт-Сіті. Вкрай цікаві відчуття.

На цей момент саме «Блекаут» сподобався мені найбільше з усіх коміксів у всесвіті Кіберапнку 2077, які я читав. Він виділяється глибиною, людяністю та сміливістю говорити про незручні речі, не прикрашаючи реальність неоном.

І наостанок. Після того як я трохи пограв в оригінальну гру, читати комікси з цього всесвіту стало значно цікавіше. Контекст світу, атмосфера та знайомі теми починають відчуватися глибше, а такі історії, як «Блекаут», сприймаються ще гостріше й особистіше.

داستان Blackout(خاموشی) داستان فردی به نام Arturo هست که تو شرکتی به نام DMS(تولید کننده ی Braindance)به عنوان تعمیر کار Braindane های مشتری های شرکت مشغول به کار هست.
مشتری های از اقشار مختلف جامعه اعم از بی پول،پولدار قشر معمولی جامعه که با دیدن رویاهای پولدار شدن،تجربه ی عشق واقعی و غیره با دستگاه های Braindance در حال جبران کردن کمبود هاشون در دنیای واقعی هستن.
چون تو Night City همه از زندگی ای که دارن ناراضین و مردم ترجیح میدن تمام روز رو با رویاهای دروغینی که دستگاه های Braindane تولید می‌کنند صرف کنند و این باعث میشه Arturo حس گناه بهش دست بده و خودشو جزوی از این زندگی بی معنا و مفهومی که مشتری های شرکت دارن بدونه و روزهاشو با این حس گناهی که باهاش دست و پنجه نرم می‌کنه بگذرونه و ادامه ی داستان
داستان خاموشی شامل مفاهیم فلسفی،طبقات اجتماعی در جامعه،فساد و بهره کشی شرکت‌هاست.

A nice quick read...

It's a universe building story set in the Cyberpunk 2077 game (you know..the glitchy videogame featuring Keanu's likeness?). What's the most cliche story you could come up with? A bank heist! At least they put a little flavor on it and made it more interesting than I expected.

Love me a good bank heist story, this one involves Arturo who works with BDs. I like that they showed how addictive BDs can be. Appreciated the art style in this one too.

Después de haber leído el cómic Trauma Team, no sentía mucha curiosidad por la expansión del universo de Cyberpunk. Aunque este mundo tiene un enorme potencial, depende mucho del mensaje que se quiera transmitir. En este caso, siento que la obra deja un mensaje ambiguo, en el que somos nosotros quienes decidimos cómo interpretarlo. Esa ambigüedad hace que la historia sea algo difuza, ya que presenta distintas capas sin dejar del todo claro qué quiere ofrecernos, pero al mismo tiempo es claro y directo. Este cómic es un buen ejemplo de ello, debido que las neurodanzas son utilizadas para darnos distintas interpretaciones de los sucesos, jugando así un papel central.

Aquí conocemos a Arthur, un empleado de una empresa de neurodanzas que está esclavizado a un ritmo agotador para cumplir con las expectativas de su jefe. Poco a poco, Arthur se da cuenta de que su habilidad podría tener un propósito más noble: utilizar las neurodanzas para algo más significativo que simples placebos. Esta situación recuerda a la realidad de la industria farmacéutica, donde el consumo constante de medicamentos parece ser más importante que encontrar una cura definitiva. A lo largo de la historia, seguimos a Arthur en momentos de profunda desmotivación y pensamientos suicidas, donde siente que no hay salida y solo quiere dejar las cosas como están.

En cierto modo, la historia es esperanzadora, ya que presenta a una persona común enfrentándose a enemigos gigantescos para buscar un cambio que beneficie a quienes lo rodean. Este mensaje es valioso, al igual que la manera en que la narrativa utiliza realidades ficticias para plantear preguntas del tipo "¿Qué pasaría si...?", llevando al lector a enfrentarse consigo mismo. Esto nos deja con la gran incógnita: ¿cuál era la realidad en las últimas páginas de este cómic? Sinceramente, creo que no importa. Lo verdaderamente significativo no es si Arthur vive o muere, sino el mensaje sobre cómo enfrentarse a un ciclo tan difícil y encontrar el valor para romperlo.

La tarea no es sencilla, pero Arthur nos da una pequeña esperanza. Aunque al mismo tiempo nos enseña que, aunque deseemos hacer el bien, cada acción tiene una reacción; causa y efecto. Por mucho que busquemos ayudar, debemos asumir las consecuencias de nuestros actos como sucede a lo largo de toda la historia. Aunque la historia no sea especialmente compleja, me ha gustado mucho tanto su narrativa como el mensaje que transmite, todo ello envuelto en la estética cruda y el ambiente opresivo de Night City.

La verdad es que me está alegrando mucho estas extensiones en formato cómic de Cyberpunk 2077. Y Bartosz Sztybor realmente aprovecha muchas oportunidades y entiende el potencial de este universo ficticio. Blackout, desde luego, se muestra como una lectura fácilmente recomendable a cualquier tipo de lectore. Sí que puede que a primeras, un fanático base del videojuego, puede que no acepte de entrada el estilo de dibujo más agradable y "europeo" de Roberto Ricci y la paleta de colores más "pastel" de Fabiana Mascolo. O que no esté muy por la labor de disfrutar de la enésima historia de atracos en Night City. Pero la historia y personajes de Bartosz, se caracterizan por salir "un poco" de la fauna y contextos más habituales y reconocibles de Cyberpunk 2077. Donde los Edgerunners, Fixers y demás maleantes de Night City se muestran de la forma más extrema y espectacular. Directamente nuestro protagonista es en realidad un empleado del servicio técnico de una empresa de neuros, a pesar de tener un gran talento para programarlos... Pero su idealismo no tiene cabida en la dura jungla de asfalto y neón de Night City. Y acaba en una situación tan desesperada que deberá recurrir al consabido método criminal para conseguir créditos necesarios para salir del atolladero. Para ello necesita un plan, y pobres diablos como él que se arriesguen a llevarlo a cabo.

Los pasos son bien reconocidos. Pero Bartosz Sztybor sabe que en esta ocasión, sus personajes se prestan para que la acción y suspense del atraco, aunque presentes, no sean tan relevantes como el reconocer en esta panda a individuos buscando no perder la humanidad que la mayor parte del mundo ha reemplazado por mejores cibernéticas o adictivas e irreales experiencias virtuales.

La historia de Blackout logra aunar todo significado de este palabro. Desde el técnico de un apagón de aparatos eléctricos y digitales debido a las impensables exigencias eléctricas de una megaurbe como Night City, a conmociones varias de un individuo ante inclemencias físicas o psíquicas. En el Apagón todo parece detenerse, pero realmente se desarrollo cualquier cambio.

Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout llega a hacer pensar que estaremos ante una lectura realmente positiva y luminosa en este universo. Pero el autor sabe en qué contextos está trabajando, y la verdad es que finiquita muy bien para que esta historia se integre perfectamente en el cúmulo de leyendas de los bajos fondos de Night City.

Virtual reality is all fun and games when you partake in reasonable quantities. When it becomes an addiction, the troubles arise. The real world is far less attractive when you have no control over it, when it looks gloomy or when you are alone. But taking refuge in fantasy can lead to even more destruction.

Arturo is a repairman for Diverse Media Systems's braindance machines. He sees the negative effect it has on their customers and feels like a drug dealer. He would rather create programs that help people fight depression and addiction, but the company needs to keep its users hooked, not heal them. When he gets assigned to a repair job in the prison, he sees the device cause deep trauma to the inmates. He sets up regular programs in their devices, which earns him a hefty fine. He quits his job in amger. His already huge debt gets larger, but he feels liberated.

Arturo cooks up a plan for a bank heist to pay off his debt. He and his team would take advantage of the now-regular blackouts to steal valuables they will then sell on the black market. He convinces his long-time friend, the former edgerunner Al-Beta to join. The rest of the team is made up of Kashyap the NCPD officer Arturo helped with his drinking problem and the sister of the inmate whose braindance device he hacked.

The heist doesn't go well. The police are alerted too soon. The driver can't make a clean getaway, the NCPD guy gets drunk and Al-Beta turns on Arturo who struggles and gets shot. Turns out it was one of Arturo's programs, created to teach Al-Beta a lesson on betrayal. Now all she wants is to prove her loyalty to the team. She allows Kashyap to arrest her after a car chase through the city and gets sent to jail, Kashyap gets a promotion and Arturo gets away and pays off the debt. All is good in the world. If something from his past doesn't come back to shoot him in the back of the head. Cause and effect, indeed.

The ending really stood out to me, yes this book is just an example of a simple Bank Heist, but there’s way more to the story, very vague descriptions & innuendos that I found very compelling.

Near the end when Arturo was speaking with Al-Beta on the jail phone “I gotta die to live" he tells Al Beta on the phone. then he dies the wrong death. then he lives. then dies the correct death. ending the cycle.

I also noticed how it said “karma" on the killers hoodie? "I found that one moment. the cause that will lead to effect, and I will live.”

Also the homeless man with the sign & it says “Death is coming” definitely some foreshadowing there.

Na ez a képregény már egy fokkal gondolkodtatóbb mint a Trauma Team. Vagy kettővel is. Ismételni tudom magam. Ha nem játszottál a játékkal, akkor ezt a képregényt ne vedd még meg. Ezeknek a köteteknek egyik hátránya az, hogy magukban is élvezhetőek viszont a játék nélkül nem fogod megkapni azt a történetet amit Bartosz Sztybor akart átadni neked az oldalak segítségével. Ez a történet a Braindance fogalom köré tematizálódik továbbá a város köré ami otthont ad neki, ami Night City. Ez már egy ténylegesen érzelmesebben szomorú történet ami jobban üt egy gyomrost az olvasónak így másképpen fog hatni rád mint a Trauma Team. A stílusa a képregénynek egyszerűbb, pop artosabb a vonalkezelés egyszerű, de működik. Az árnyékolás és a színek használata flat, nagyon tónusértékkel és annak átmenetével nem fogsz találkozni de a screentone dob rajta. ( pöttyös textúra )
Ha megszokod a vizuált, akkor egy igen stílusos képregényt kapsz a kezedbe ami tetszeni fog főleg a játék után. Mert Night Cityben senki sem lehet boldog. Ezt te is tudod.

De los cómics basados en Cyberpunk 2077 (o 2030, o RED), este es el que más me ha gustado. Tiene los elementos básicos del género, y las ideas centrales de cualquier trama cyberpunk: alta tecnología, alienación, transhumanidad, decadencia, lucha contra el poder fáctico... Es una historia sobre los sueños dentro de una sociedad decadente camuflada dentro de la historia de un gran robo. Las ilustraciones son efectivas, aunque no son mis favoritas porque en ocasiones se sienten muy caricaturescas. Sin embargo le dan un toque de Bande Desinée (BD) que le sienta muy bien porque dentro de la trama es muy importante el "brain dance" (BD), que es como se le conoce a la tecnología en la cual a través de lentes de realidad virtual se "viven" todo tipo de experiencias que se sienten como propias.Muy recomendado este cómic.

After many people recommended the Cyberpunk Netflix series, I acquiesced and, to no one’s surprise, I didn’t like it. I found it to be both predictable and unnecessarily dark so you can imagine I went into the novel thinking it was going to be a similar story based on the inevitable doom and gloom of late stage capitalism. I was pleasantly surprised, however, as Arturo’s “newbie” optimism and genius tech ideas were what brought the heist team together and ultimately led to their own personal growth by the end of the story. I also found the intertextuality of the book to be quite interesting since the pauses that happened periodically throughout the narrative nod to its videogame/filmic counterparts.

All the fake-out storylines were a bit jarring to follow along with, the way this guy programmed these brain dreams didn't make a lot of sense, and unlike the show/game/previous graphic novel, it was less about the city and the people within it, and mostly just a bank heist filled with loopholes. At first, I thought it had a big twist in the end that had a really dark and twisted message, but that turned out to be a fake out, and everyone lived happily ever after apparently.
I also wasn't a huge fan of the art in this one. The plot, the main character and the visuals were all kind of a mess. Not a one star because it didn't piss me off, and the world's good, and the tech was intriguing. It had potential, but then it just fell into a lazy heist story.

Fun read in the Cyberpunk universe about misfits (aren't they all?) planning a heist to take it from the man. I like the unique personalities although the antagonists are too simplistic. I know you don't have much space in these tight books but some villain character range & development would be appreciated.

"Blackout" would ALMOST be generic if it wasn't for the high-tech element that turns a regular heist story into a sci-fi one. Granted, the ending was a bit confusing, but at least you're encouraged to read it again.

Art style has that scribbled, Franco-Belgian nature but fits the story. The book carries that European album feeling and can be read even if you don't know anything about 2077.

Solid recommendation from me.

This is a stand-alone story expanding upon the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. You don't need to read previous trades, but being familiar with the lore of the game with help immensely. This story dives deeply into the Braindance technology introduced in the game. We follow a BD Editor who decides to use his talents to give people a sort of 'exposure therapy' session to help them get their lives right. The story has all the same anti-corpo, gang-banging themes as the game and the character designs and outfits are inspired.

If you like Braindances, Cyberpunk Aesthetic, Toppling Corporate Greed you may like Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout.

Looking to get into the mood for the Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion I wanted to read some of the Cyberpunk world and lore. And I will say Blackout is one of my favourite graphic novels I've read recently. Ultimately this story is a heist plotline with more of a focus on the main character's crew and their motivations rather than the heist itself. Through the use of BDs we can see the character's overcoming their own deficiencies. I wish we saw more of this and would have been a great story telling device.

I am subtracting a star for not utilizing the BDs to the fullest. Why only explore some of the characters and not give every crew member their own time to shine.

Większość komiksów ze świata CyberPunka jest zrealizowana według schematu, gdzie bohaterowie w ten czy inny sposób rzucają wyzwanie Miastu i panującym w nim zasadom, a na końcu Night City i tak ich wszystkich łamie. "Blackout" jest próbą przełamania tego schematu, choć w mojej opinii średnio udanej, ani bohaterowie, ani sceny akcji, ani kolejne wątki opowieści nie porywają, mimo, że niektóre nie są oklepane. Rysunki ok, bez szału, bez wtopy, ciekawą rzeczą było zastosowanie efektu rastru.

I'm a fan of cyberpunk so I am well aware of the give and takes of Night City. We follow Arturo and his job in braindance maintenance/repair . The side characters though introduced quickly were likeable to me and what started as something straightforward, took unexpected twists and turns until the end . By the end of the comic I felt like I had just gotten off a roller coaster . I enjoyed it a lot.

Though the plot is a little too straight-forward, Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout more than makes up for this with an art style that is at once both bleak and colorful, interesting characters, and a complex protagonist who wants to help people but experiences suicidal thoughts because of how stuck he feels in life. I immediately latched onto Arturo's struggles and his optimism toward changing the people around him for the better. I LOVED the bittersweet ending.

I'm glad Blackout had a complex cause and effect theme and didn't shy away from showing the messy side-effects our actions can have, even when we have the best intentions. I wish more comics out there were written this intelligently. I'll be thinking about this story for a long time.

Blackout was great. It uses the setting of Night City really well and explores some schlockyer elements from the source material that make for an excellently paced read, while still acknowledging how detrimental a trade-off it is to live in Night City.

Fabuła to "revange story" połączona z "bank heist" i "redemption story" - niby nic zaskakującego, ale za to naprawdę dobrze napisanego i wyegzekwowanego z naprawdę dobrym zakończeniem. Komiks trzyma dobrą dynamikę, kreska fajnie korespondująca z cyberpunkowym leitmotifem. Jedno z lepszych wydań spośród dark horse'owych komiksów CP77

Woah… If Rebecca survived I think I found out what would’ve happened. Ok, maybe not, but the personalities are strikingly similar. Great art, and a decent ending that was oddly more in a happier tone even if it ended vaguely.
