"I want to see you covered in ink, only under your clothes, only where I can see them. I want my name tattooed between your legs, I want to push your thighs apart and see my name inside of them."
Mini: The bad boy tattoo artist with a tricky pierced tongue and a wicked imagination. Kink expert extraordinaire, he is temptation incarnate.
Siebold ‘Zee’ Li: The breadwinning architect who holds his feelings close to his chest, a lone wolf with an exception for the man he adores. Perfect, supportive boyfriend, he is the source of everything good in Trinket’s life.
Trinket: The man who wants what he can’t have. A sheltered virgin when he met Zee, Trinket has never faced the question of ‘What do you really need?’
Trinket didn’t mean to cheat.
But he also doesn’t mean to stop, or to leave his boyfriend. For the first time in his life, he plans to get everything he needs… or lose it all trying. Everything will change — not just for himself, but for the two men he can't possibly choose between.
A Fresh Taste of Ink: The Complete Trilogy is a high heat series with a slow burn build-up to MMM. It contains all three books in the trilogy: The Taste of Ink, The Guilty Canvas, and The Final Stroke.
Daniel May writes MM romance and erotica with a focus on dark contemporary, kink, and BDSM. Originally a lover of sci-fi and fantasy, he turned his sights on the erotic as a joke that went over surprisingly well.
Completed series: The Taste of Ink (rereleased as A Fresh Taste of Ink trilogy) Ongoing series: Hanged Men
4 ⭐️ This was so well written. The throuple and polyamory was very well done. It has a lot of smut and spicy scenes but has a good balance of developing the characters and the relationship between them as well. The cheating trope was handled well which I’m surprised by. Overall, a satisfying and enjoyable read
I strongly dislike trinket, and it isn’t even the cheating, it’s the victimization, the hypocrisy, the AUDACITY to feel betrayed, man fuck that bitch.
Mind you he became a cheating asshole because it gave him some sort of tranquility???
He knew something was wrong but instead of being an adult and TALKING ABOUT IT or GOING TO THERAPY. He thought fucking someone else was the best option? but whatever that wasn’t what got me the maddest it was the ZERO REPERCUSSION FOR HIS ACTIONS, the author eased Mini into Zee in such a way that the cheating became something so light hearted.
I wanted pain, confusion, hurt from Zee, and inner doubt, inner conflicts of wanting to have both Mini and Trinket but also wanting to be angry and sad about the betrayal, which ultimately leads to him giving in cause losing BOTH of them or one of them would hurt too much.
I also wanted conflict from trinket, that smack from reality he very much needed, the conflict he needed to face when he would have to pick (this is more of a know what i am doing and i would either have to lose Zee or Mini at some point so who im i more willing to lose) and struggling to realize he love them both, differently but equally, and struck with the guilt of knowing he can not pick.
i wanted depth and it didn’t give me that. I don’t know why i didn’t dnf this book, maybe because i heard so many good things about it i kept holding out hope it would be good.
ps: every chapter was basically a sex scene, and normally i would not have a problem with that, but that story had so much potential i feel it was waste on the vivid descriptions of the sex scenes.
One thing i would give the author is, he knows how to write smut, tho the sex scenes were A LOT, never once did it feel repetitive or boring.
A disappointment and a waste of my time. I do not recommend this book.

I was initially very hesitant to read these books because of some of the reviews. However, I learned about Daniel May through Misha Horne's recs list and I absolutely love Misha's writing so I have read nearly all of the authors on their list. I didn't care for Daniel May's Clean Freak book but that was because I didn't really like the main guy, I can't remember his name but not the Clean Freak (who I did like).
Anyway I loved these books. I read them in the 3-volume set and I have to say I disagree that there is an imbalance between the relationships in book 3. Because of the reviews that talk about how imbalanced this volume is I started this book and then took about 2 weeks to finish it. Volumes 1 and 2 were so good, and 3 was off to such a good start I couldn't bear to ruin it.
However, I really liked that since the first books focused more on Trinket, Zee and Mini got the chance to be fleshed out not just in terms of what they mean to Trinket but what they mean to each other. This volume makes it plain that Trinket *wants* Zee and Mini to be into each other as well, so even disregarding what I want for the two of them, why would I want anything else for Trinket other than what *he* wants? I also love that the scene at the end is just Trinket.
Then ofc there's the cheating. I don't usually knowingly start a series about a single main character but the blurb for volume 1 was irresistible. No one writes about cheating, and obviously I personally wouldn't WANT to be cheated on again but I sure did enjoy reading about Trinket doing it.
A fantastic kinky ride through a hot, twisted, surprisingly sweet story of kink, guilt, cheating, and people that really need therapy.
I found this mini-series accidentally while trolling for good smut. Started reading and realised I was into a boy on boy tale. As a Hetero-ish girl I don't read much boy smut but this gripped me immediately. It was genuinely naughty and taboo with the cheating and it was engrossing. I read all of the 7 novelas that make up the series in a span of maybe 4 days total.
As I read I got more and more invested in the characters and their emotions, even as the hot, kinky sex kept me turning the pages. Honestly the best erotica story I have read in so long I can't remember. Raw, real, twisted, uncertain. And Hoooot!
There is so much about these books I love, so much. Daniel May has a stunning way of writing that touches my soul. There is so much heat in this book, some would say there’s no plot. I disagree. The plot is beautiful, the trope it’s focused on has never been my favorite, but with the story? Daniel May makes it perfect. It fits them. The characters: their growth as individuals, and as they come together. The poems, the tattoos, the BDSM - not the face value of what these things are, but how they are weaved into the story. Absolute perfection. I loved everything and couldn’t recommend these series enough.
This is a series not soon forgotten! Hot as hell, lovely to read. Daniel May is a new favorite author, for sure. Only complaint is more more more Zee, Trinket, and Mini!
