Leah James is an aspiring romance writer and helps out at her brother, Rick’s restaurant as a waitress. When Rick’s childhood best friend, Dane, pays a visit to his restaurant, he offers Leah a shot at being the face of a new perfume campaign at Killen Cosmetics. After some hesitation, Leah decides to take the job and moves to New York.

Clearly I am a fool because the ratings for this book is so high but I just found it mediocre, I’ve read better billionaire boss romances. Rah rah I know that it’s a romance novel but how unrealistic is it that this random ass lady who’s probably the ideal pretty is all like omg no I would NEVER imagine myself as a model for a perfume campaign! Girl just shut the f**k up and use your pretty privilege. Anyways, the marketing team is also apparently horrible and clearly amateur because did no one on the team seriously think of how shallow it is to portray the whole “American sweetheart” campaign for a world famous cosmetics company? And it’s called Beautiful Moments… I literally have too many bad words to spew about that campaign title so I’m gonna keep it to myself. I also hate how they never actually tackle the whole thing with the French billionaire thing like excuse me how are you going to introduce a topic like that and then just show and not tell how it was really handled and move on?

I think this is where I’ve hit my true critic brand.

Another entertaining read. This story is about Dane and Leah. Leah, an aspiring writer is currently working at her brother’s restaurant for extra money but she refused to waitress until one day he truly needs her help and offers her a deal she can’t refuse. Dane is her brother’s BFF - he’s also a Senior VP and comes to the restaurant for a surprise visit with his boss. He offers a very surprising offer and it’s definitely, a bumpy ride. Leah is great with words, hence her aspiring to be a writer but she also had no filter. Lot’s of sassy banter keeps you smiling.

This is an entertaining story with strong characters in Leah and Dane. The author does a great job developing their relationship and bringing them together. I loved their chemistry and reading their story. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves fluidly and is a fantastic read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Average romance and so much for the me, too kovement - read on KU

Thus romance is fairly average. It's been about 10 days since I read it and I've read about a book a day since then. I liked the MCs well enough. I liked Leah's brother, AKA Dane's best friend, too. He was reasonable when he found out they were in love.

I didn't like Mr. Killen. He was upset Leah made a scene when the playboy son of a rich, Italian business owner (who was to buy a large portion of the perfune), touches her personal parts through her panties while eating dinner with Dane and !r. Killen. He had been obnoxiously hitting on her through dinner and she had kindly moved his hands multiple times already. Dane knew the guy was being inappropriate and didn't do anything to move her away from the guy. Mr. Killen was way more upset that she made a scene than that she was groped. He thought she should have handled it in a more professional and quieter way. He also said he was paying her to be hit on guys like him. And Dane didn't have words with him. Well, not strong enough words. Mr. Killen finally came around but he wasn't much of a gentleman if he would allow a woman - especially a woman in his care - to be treated like that. He needed to be on the phone with the dude's dad asking him what the he'll he let's the son get away with.

The only reason this book sticks out 10 days later is the modeling contract was a bit of a unique story line. Certainly not the only book where the h gets a modeling contract but the way it was written was.

There were minor grammatical errors. A number of commas were missing, which seems to be the new norm with writers. She also failed to use who/whom correctly, which is also so common. Who is a subject. Whom is an object and the word being in the middle of a sentence doesn't automatically make it an object. I don't there any other pronouns were used incorrectly.

I have found Ms. Parker's (and her brother's) books to be hit or miss for years. I haven't read anything by her that really stands out. I find them all to be pretty average. It's not that they aren't enjoyable but they aren't great and are definitely missing some pizazz that would make me want to read everything she's ever written. Her brother's books are the same. So are the ones they have written together. Although, I think I've only read one of those.

I'll continue to read a book by her every now and then and hopefully, she will become great.

Great Book

This is just a lovely romantic story about a small town girl and her crush, no heartache or trauma it’s a genuinely good book.
Leah lives in her hometown and is working at her brothers restaurant to help him out and to pay her bills while she is working on writing a romance novel.
Dane is her brother Rick’s best friend since they were 10 years old and Leah used to have a crush on Dane as a kid.
Dane is in town with his boss and stop at the restaurant where his boss Jefferson takes one look at Leah and knows she is perfect for their next perfume campaign.
Then we see them jetting around the world for interviews and networking and Leah is charming everyone, they have some good laughs along the way while they are falling for each other.
There is a couple of mishaps where Leah let’s go of the sweet girl persona Jefferson thought she was and her sassy no nonsense attitude comes out, she thinks she will lose her job but in reality she boosts the campaign…. She is however allergic to perfume which is a hoot.
There are a few hot smexy scenes throughout the story…. Oh and Dane used to be called “Great Dane” in high school because apparently he is rather large 😜😜
This books gives you travels around the world with a great couple who give us some laughs and hot smexy moments while they fall in love.
My only gripe is I would have liked to have seen an epilogue 5/10 in the future with kids as I did really like this couple and read this book in one day as I wanted to see more of them.

Great Dane and the Sassy Sweetheart ❤🔥🔥🔥❤

As a part-time writer words come to Leah, they also slip off the tip of her tongue pretty fast. That is one reason she will do anything at her brother's restaurant... except waitress. On the one fateful day her brother pays her handsomely to waitress is the day her life changes. Dane is scouting for America's Sweetheart, the prefect girl next door to promote a new perfume. Dane is also childhood best friends with her brother, Rick, and next in line to take over the company. Jefferson Killen, owner of Killen Cosmetics, thinks Leah is the prefect girl next door. With the money offered Leah, she could help her brother and make their lives easier. No problem... right. One, she is a spitfire and speaks what's in her mind and two.... She's allergic to perfume. Things heat up between Dane and Leah with each of them living out teenage crush fantasies, but what happens when Leah gets tired of bring told how to act and some lines are crossed? What happens when Rick learns Dane broke the bro code?? Another winning tale from Ali Parker with exceptional characters, his/her POV and a Cinderella ending!! Can't wait for Ali's next story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily purchased a copy for my favorites collection.

Another great hit by Ali Parker

When Leah came to work at her brothers restaurant she didn't know how her life was going to change. She was told to be on her best behavior and not her sassy self. Little did she know that she would be picked as the new face of a perfume line.
The owner and Dane, an old friend of theirs were amazed at her beauty and her wholesome additude. She couldn't believe it.
Her brother, Rick, talked her into it.
She didn't realize how much this would change her life. Everything was going in a whirlwind speed to get the perfume launched.
But, Jefferson's was failing and Dane was worried that he wasn't going to make it if he didn't take care of himself.
There were some bumps on the way. One was a French investors son that was hitting on Leah. Pushing her to have an affair and
groped her at a dinner party. Finally she had enough and told him off. He storms off and threatens to run the launch. Jefferson is angry at the way Leah told him off. Leah was upset and ready to quit but Dane talked her out of leaving.
They were already lovers but they were trying to keep it a secret but he didn't want her to leave.
Once Jefferson retired Dane would run and own the company.
Must read to see how things work out for these two great characters. Loved their chemistry.
Bravo for another great love story.

A big splash with Leah and Dane in Big Billionaire Boss

Leah, an aspiring writer, is helping her brother out when Dane, a Senior VP and her brother’s best friend, comes for a surprise visit with his boss. As the story progresses the surprise visit brings an even more surprising offer, things start off a little bumpy, and just when she thinks things are going well foot-in-mouth disease could kill everything before they smooth out. Ali Parker took a chance to make a big splash with Leah and Dane in Big Billionaire Boss and what a splash they caused. The whole ride through the reader will smirk at the sassy comebacks, create new book friends from the characters, with and cheer on Leah and Dane until the end.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Trigger warning/spoiler alert

It was a nice book. But it definitely triggered me so I just wanted to give others a heads up. I almost stopped reading immediately but I was interested in learning how it was handled.

*Spoiler alert*

*Trigger alert*
If you are uncomfortable with unsolicited and inappropriate touching, this book may not be for you. For me, it was *spoiler alert seriously* how it was handled and how the victim was treated. I kept reading to see how it was handled but I should have stopped when I first felt the need. The book is not bad by any means, but not truly sticking up for the victim and letting someone tell her she reacted wrong for yelling at the person, isn't okay to me personally. I kept going hoping he would apologize for that but that was not the case.

I got the boxed set of the Parker books and the first one was Big Bad Billionaire Boss and I thoroughly enjoyed the book but when I got to the Epilogue I became totally confused as the epilogue was about a person that was not even in the story. Some guy named Ellison who is the boss of a baby products company and his buddy tells him an employee was caught doing coke in the bathroom. Anyway it’s like a whole chapter of another book and it’s not the 2nd book in the set and I’m like going back and forth trying to figure out who this guy is and why is the book’s, I just read, epilogue about this guy. Am I crazy or did you do this on purpose? If not where is the epilogue that actually goes with Big Bad Billionaire Boss?

This is the story of Dane and Leah. Dane and Rick have been best friends since childhood and Leah is Rick's babysitter. You can find this story told everywhere but Ali finds a storyline from left field and runs with it. As usual with Al Parker books as soon as I start reading the book I get sucked in and I'm glued to the pages until the end. Each one I seem to say this book is the best one yet Ali but I always mean it as I'm still in the euphoria of the story. Now I want a continuation of this one it doesnt seem like the story is over. Too many questions left unanswered but I cant ask or will spoil book for someone who hasnt read it.
Loved it. You must read it.

Great read

Leah was sassy and adorable. I love her spunk and her drive to help those around her. She'll pack her spunk away if necessary, but in the end she needs to be true to herself and she is.

Dane is a man who is on the track to becoming a huge business success, only he's too driven at times and he misses out on life around him, much like his boss and father figure.

He knew Leah from childhood and when he couldn't take his eyes off his best friends sister, he knew he was in trouble.

Great read and incredible characters.

Another great book from Ali Parker. Leah is helping her brother out by waiting tables at his restaurant. Dane is back in town and decides to surprise his best friend Rick, brother of Leah. He is surprise to see Leah so grown up and is attracted to her. They have slow growing chemistry that keeps you flipping pages just to see what happens next. Will Dane change and have a real relationship or will he break Leah's heart?

Well no wonder

I’m a little curious any time a ‘simple’ romance stretches out to 40 chapters, as this one does.
I’ve read to chapter 12, of the most boring, least informative waste of time imaginable. Zero action. Zero chemistry. Zero…anything at all except a lot of descriptive narrative about a cosmetic company.
For twelve long chapters.
Maybe it gets better. Maybe …..something actually happens. After 12 chapters of repetition and not much else, I’m done.

Just what I needed

So after coming off a major book hangover (I mean it I didnt want to read anything) I started this love story. And goodness was is perfect. The billionaire, the brothers best friend, the instant seeing each other after years. It was just what I needed. Good love scenes without over the top descriptions and more happenings beside bedromps but plenty of hot times. And a perfect happy ever after

Sweet Read

I've read a lot of "brother's best friend" trope and have recently started to get tired of them because they feel the same. I love how mature and honest Dane and Leah were with each other. Even when it came to worrying about what her brother would think, Dane's response was what I wish most character's responses would be. I also loved the chemistry they had and that the conflict wasn't necessarily related to their relationship. Overall a sweet and well written book.

Original Storyline And Fantastic Characters

I don't think I've read a storyline similar to this one. It definitely has its twists and turns and highs and lows. It has its funny parts along with sincerity. I wonder what happened with the Fayette company and Rene? In all honesty, I was hoping it went viral and his father found out.

Dane and Leah

I devoured this book in one evening, finding the story interesting and easy to enjoy.

Dane and Leah knew each other from childhood, yet that wasn’t a main focus of the storyline. Their love grew through mutual respect and caring for one another. I loved that Dane wasn’t a jerk and always supported Leah throughout. It ended in a complete HEA!

Dane

Leah and Dane were already acquainted when she was hired to be a spokesperson for the company he was involved in running. They had grown up together. After working together for awhile they realized that they had feelings for each other. Good story with lots of positive advice.

Great read! Didn't disappoint!

When it came down to the start of this book it was funny and a little boring at a point but I really wanted to read on to see if it got better and it didn't disappoint. It was a very touching story of two amazing people coming together after so long to make it really work!

Bit boring?

Not quite sure what bothered me, but found myself bored & skimming to try to get done by about the halfway mark. The general plot & characters were fine, but think it was more tell than show/passive writing and just didn't hold my interest.

Another excellent read. The characters and the story lines brought out the following: be true to yourself; never lessen your value for a job or man; hard work pays off; and sometimes love is right in front of you
