I only liked Ella up until the 89% of the book. The guy (which we have already seen in the previous books sleeping around) has an insane chemistry with her and they spent 1 week together, without knowing each other before.
Then because he has severe anxiety and does not want to lose control, what does he do? He ghosts her and is late for their date, and when she tries to see what happened and where he is, she catches him up against wall. Well there was a woman between him and the wall and when Ella confronts him, he spurts hurtful insults, like "what did you expect? you are not that special etc"
She ditches him and then after 5 months she meets him again. Long story short, as her sister is "engaged" to the another band member and Jared is the drummer, Ella finds herself as a nanny and follows them to the tour. Where she watches Jared sleep around every night with a different groupie, he is not subtle about it and he probably rubs it in her face. They are also exchanging insults....
One would have thought that Ella would have lost all attraction to the walking STD but no...
They are stranded in a cabin for 2 weeks and they rekindle their relationship. Where he is hot and cold, the entire time, he is so insulting and really disrespectful-. And what simply because he can cook and cuddle, he can be forgiven? 50+% of the time he was really mean to her and just the fact that he had spent the entire month of the tour parading his hookups would have been enough for a sane woman IMO. They part ways when rescue comes over and again on the last moment he flirts with one of the rescue team members in front of Ella. He actually takes her phone number!!!
The guy really needs therapy and in the end, Ella "understands" that all of his push was because he was so anxious to lose control and she forgives him. There is 1 month of separation where both are celibate.
I will never appreciate this trope. I mean the guy slept with her for a week, (not even one night...), then ditched her, then for a month he was showing off his hookups, then they slept together for 2 weeks, where he was giving whiplash from his reactions and then he flirts again in front of her.
Saving grace for Ella, who was not a complete doormat...

This one was hard. Jared, Jared, Jared. I feel like we have waited to while to find out exactly what this man's problem was and boy do we find out. I yelled and maybe even cried a little for Ella. She put up with his crap for too long in my opinion. Even with all the drama that lead up to them getting their HEA. This book was heartfelt and a great read. Like I said, it was hard to like Jared but he won me over in the end. I didn't want the book to end. I wanted to know more. I would have loved to get his POV during this book. He was all over the place.

This was a really good book! I loved the tension, the characters, the spice and the romance! It felt like this book has just about everything someone is looking for in it. I haven't read the previous books in the series but other than a few characters I had no issue with reading this as a standalone book. I really enjoyed reading this one and can't wait to read more in the future!

Although this is the 4th book in the True Platinum Series, this is the first one I have read. It totally worked as a standalone. Jared and Ella are so different. Their constant fighting on the tour is noticed by everyone. So when the two of them get snowed in together no one is sure if either will come out alive. Can they survive each other? Will they get to the true bottom of their problems? I just loved this story. It was very raw and open. I could not put it down.

There’s so many ways this book could have gone but that wasn’t what I was expecting. The power of therapy strikes again! This book is also a great tale of the heart wants what the heart wants. Despite Ella’s internal battle with the image Jared portrayed she never could give him up. When Jared would give the little glimpses of his true self to Ella, they both were happy and content. Loved their HEA and hope to see them show up again in later books.

This was a great read - I just love the comeback remarks Ella throws to Jared's stabbing hurtful remarks. I had whiplash with him going back and forth, but glad he finally listened and looked deep inside himself, and actually got some help.

I was so confused reading this book, the story felt so fragmented.
I had really high hopes and it contained a lot of my favourite tropes, forced proximity; but this story fell flat.
It felt as though character development and story progression took one stop forward and three steps back. For me this just didn’t live up to my expectations

It’s been a while since I have read a rock star romance, and Morgana Bevan reminded me why I love them so much!
To say Ella and Jared can’t stand one another would be an understatement, and almost everyone believes it’s because Jared lives up to every horrible rock star stereotype there is…womanizer, conceited, the list could go on and on. No one knows that these two spent a steamy and romantic week together before they knew who the other one was. Thankfully, she can escape him at a gorgeous, secluded cabin in the Alps, or so she thinks. Turns out he has the same idea and now the two of them are stranded together in the cabin in a snowstorm. Let the fireworks begin!!!!
I rarely give a book 5 stars when I really don’t like one of the lead characters, in this case, Jared. However, I thought it was genius on Bevan’s part. She made me really feel something for a character even if it was frustration and anger. I felt the same feelings Ella did, and that is exactly what every writer wants their reader to feel, an emotional reaction to their characters. Somewhere in the middle of the book, my feelings began to change just as Ella’s did. I began seeing why his behavior ran so hot and cold…fear. Then, my heart started melting, and I began to fall for him, again just like Ella.
I have said a lot about Jared, now it’s Ella’s turn. Oh my goodness, this woman has more patience than I would have had. She could sling insults back at Jared, but nothing that ripped him to the core. Yet, she always saw him for who he was, not the rock star, but who he was. She knew there was something special underneath all the arrogance he showed to everyone else. What was even more special about her, she wasn’t perfect either. She didn’t have her life figured out, but she never gave up when it came to the direction of her professional life or her feelings for Jared.
Now, that I have dissected the characters, I will address the story itself. I loved it! There was sweetness, angst, and lots of steam. If that wasn’t enough, Bevan addressed something that is plaguing so many people today, anxiety. As someone who suffers from it myself, I appreciate her bringing a spotlight to it. I hope that Jared’s story will bring light to someone who may be suffering from it. Thank you, Morgana Bevan, for giving your readers such a fantastic book!

This was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning. Lets just say that these two liked to challenge each other, especially with the tension and hot connection they obviously had. When a snow storm hits they have no choice but to wait it out, with each other. Will they finally work through their issues?
Overall I loved these characters and their story. We get some steamy scenes as well. The author does a great job with her writing. This can be read as a standalone even though it's part of a great series. If you like Rockstar romance you will love this one. 1-click and get started today.

This is book 4 in the True Platinum series- however I read it as a standalone. It was easy enough to follow as a standalone, however I'm wondering if I missed something in the first 3 books to explain Jared a bit more. I plan on reading the rest of the series to see if it sheds more light! I enjoyed the author's writing style and this was a quick and easy read.
Before I start my actual review I'd just like to say THERE IS A PLAYLIST ASSOCAITED WITH EACH CHAPTER and man on man do I love that. I do wish they were put right below the title headers of "chapter x" so I didn't have to keep flipping back though.
I'm all for push and pull, red flag fictional men, but having a dual POV in this book would've made me like Jared sooner. I felt like I had whiplash every other page of the book trying to understand Jared, his motives, his actions, anything. BUT with a guaranteed HEA I was willing to stick it out.
The premise of a semi-long term forced proximity with your lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers forbidden hottie rock star was amazing and I loved every minute of being inside Ella's head to witness Jared through her eyes and learn more about herself and what she wants.
Overall I really liked this book, but just know before going into it that it's a bit of a mindfuck if you don't know who Jared is from the other books (if he's really delved into at all in the other books?). Worth it though since there's some really great messages and character development throughout the book.
Possible TWs: implied potential "cheating", mental illness (anxiety)

Defying Ella hit close to home in some ways. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not the musician and fame aspect but the relationship dynamic. I’ve had a similar dynamic with my husband at the beginning. If we were snowed in, in the Alps there would've been a similar situation between us early on. The author put together a well written relatable story. One where you feel you could be a part of. Ella and Jared are an adverse pair. They care for one another but would never admit it. They go toe to toe often. Everyone around them feels like they hate each other. They don’t know everything. They don’t know the history. Getting away from him is just what Ella needs. Unfortunately for her he shows up unexpectedly. They both unexpectedly booked the same time at the lodge. Well little did they know they would get stuck together unable to go anywhere. Forcing them to face the music. Will it all come out? Will they deal with what’s between them? The roller coaster between these two is crazy. And I absolutely love what the author has done. I love the story being told. I completely understand and sympathize with both characters' feelings. I started with book 4, though part of a series is very much a standalone. I want more from this author. I’m now going to go back and read books 1-3, then this one again. Now is your chance to discover a new author or to continue what I can tell is a great series just by this book.

This is the first book I've read by the author. Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum Series. It can be read as a standalone. Ella and Jared will leave you wanting more. The chemistry in the book is so life like its amazing.
Jared is an up and coming rockstar. He puts on a mask to keep everyone at arms length. Then he meets Ella and she changes things. Then he's snowed in a cabin with her. Can he go back to being the bad boy or will his need for Ella win out? The quote I chose for Jared is: “Your patience is endless. I don’t know how you kept from taking my head off when we first got snowed-in here. I wasn’t exactly the most pleasant person to be around in those first few days.”
Ella goes to the Alps to get away from Jared. She doesn't want him to see how mad he's driving her. Being snowed in doesn't help her case any. She goes from wanting to kill him to wanting to be honest with himself. The quote I chose for Ella is: “I don’t care. You don’t set foot in her flat. I’m going to be a regular feature at her Saturday lunch date with the girls, I don’t want to so much as sniff out your cologne. Do I make myself clear? You live your life, I’ll live mine. Make sure they don’t fucking intersect.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m sure it won’t be the last as I really enjoyed reading Defying Ella. Although this is the 4th book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series and didn’t feel that the author had left any gaps. All necessary information needed to enjoy and understand this story is given.
In this book we get the story of drummer Jared and Ella who is the sister of another band member’s girlfriend. Jared comes across as a bit of an ass at the beginning but as his story unravels you find a very complex, tortured soul who just needs that special person to make him see who he truly is. I absolutely loved reading Jared’s story, although I admit I really wanted to slap him a few times.
He really meets his match in Ella. And when they are snowed in together she realises that he has issues and is there to help him cope through the dark times.

I am glad I ignored the fact that this was the 4th book in a series and read it anyways. It certainly could easily be read as a standalone.
The character growth in this is gravitating. The plot is fun, imagine being snowed in with the last person you want to be with, the person you couldn't wait to get away from. I was hooked immediately. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how things would turn out, I am not going to lie, it could have easily turned into a murder mystery with one of them killing each other.
I am excited to go back and read the rest of this series, and will re-read this one after reading those to see if it has any different vibes.

This was the first time reading this author and I am so glad I did. Defying Ella is a part of a series but stands alone. Ella and Jared’s Hate /Love relationship is a good read. I could hardly put it down. The story has a little slow start building the characters, but it won’t take long to get going. The way the author writes these characters and how much they don’t like each other is very well done. I don’t want to give away too much, but I will tell my friends about this one. I am going to get the rest of the series to read them.

Jared is a talented drummer, woos and runs on woman and woman, and loves to pick at Ella and make her miserable. After months on tour together, Ella cannot wait to have a relaxing time at a secluded cabin with all of her best girlfriends!
Seeking a refuge before their downtime together, Ella heads to the cabin early for a reprieve, thankful for her break from Jared...until he shows up at the door of the cabin and a monster snowstorm follows him there. After anticipating being away from him for so long, will they be able to manage without tearing each other apart?
After deciding on a truce, it leads to discussions about Jared and the facade he wears to survive, while Ella opens up about how he made her feel in the past and now. This is the first book I have read from this author and the first one of this series. I was unaware that it was part of a series but the cover had me intrigued to read it. This book was really great!
Rockstar Jared blew into Ella’s life out of nowhere. Jared was the bad-boy rebel who didn’t let people get too close to him. He has anxiety, is grumpy, and would rather jump from bed to bed than let himself get close to his heart. Jared and Ella shared a week of pure magic getting to know each other. But Jared rolled out of Ella’s life as fast as he entered. Ella doesn’t want to like Jared because he’s a jerk to her, but her heart says otherwise. When they ended up on the same tour bus together it was going to be hell.
When Ella gets the chance to put miles between them she can’t leave fast enough. When she gets to the cabin in the middle of nowhere Ella can finally relax after months of tension. When the door flies open Ella can’t believe her eyes!! JARED!! The two end up being snowed in with no rescue in sight. This could either go very well or horribly wrong.

Nobody, especially Ella, wants to be snowed-in with their former lover turned current enemy when she’s supposed to be spending a few weeks with her girlfriends. Instead of a relaxing vacation, Ella is stuck with Jared, and they are constantly bickering, and getting in each other’s way. Eventually, they learn to enjoy one another’s company and maybe even understand each other. Will their newfound respect for one another last beyond rescuing? Only time will tell.

I’m a bit of a sucker for a rockstar romance so when I came across this story I thought I’d give it a go, although it is the fourth book in the series I happily read it as a standalone. Jared was probably the kind of rockstar that I love to read about – you know the type you can’t help but love to hate! You know you really shouldn’t like him but there’s just something in there that’s waiting to come to the surface that’s going to make you love him. Ella was a sweet character and I really liked her. There was so much angst and tension going on in between these two characters, they definitely had that love/hate thing going on.
I will definitely be reading the other books in this series and this book has been a great introduction to a new author also!

As you might imagine, most of these rock star romance novels end with a very cute happily ever after. I'm not complaining, at all. Honestly, the way that different authors write, it intrigues me to no end, and this author was no different. Though the story follows two main characters, being Ella and Jared, you're not torn in trying to decide who you're more connected to. Rather, you feel for them both. Jared is this hardcore play boy that has a touch, yes, a touch, of anxiety and a myriad of other things going on, and what he wants more than nothing else is to be enough. Ella, oh Ella. She doesn't know what she wants, but she knows she wants what she sees in her group of friends. In all ways.
Ultimately, this novel came at me, and I devoured it, very quickly. Especially with the colder weather coming up, the idea of being stuck in a cabin with a hot play boy for a quick little tryst sounds like just what the doctor ordered. I will be going back and reading more of this authors work, as she definitely has the writing skill bug, and I love it! Highly recommend.

Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum Series and is a Rock Star Romance/ Contemporary Romance that I truly enjoyed reading. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to be going back and checking out the other books in this series . This is a fast paced story that I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen next. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with amazing characters make for a wonderful story. These two have great chemistry and seem to need one another more than they may think. What will happen when they find themselves in a cabin snowed in for several days? I highly recommend reading this standalone story to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This was my first experience with this series but I am now a fan. The chemistry between Ella and Jared was super hot. Even when they were at each other’s throats, the electricity danced on the page.
Ella met the man of her dreams only for him to disappoint her one week later. When she walked away, Ella hoped to never see him again. Imagine her surprise when he turned up in her sister’s kitchen. Now she is on tour with her sister and her sister’s boyfriend’s band (guess who the drummer is?) having to watch the man she thought was special be your typical rockstar with a rotating bevy of groupies.
Jared can’t explain his attraction to Ella. Jared doesn’t want to. He just wants to be a rockstar. When Ella comes on tour with the band as the nanny, Jared plans to avoid and ignore. That doesn’t work. Just being around her sets him off in all the wrong ways. The only way he can escape her and his feelings is to avail himself of the opportunities presented.
When Ella plans a girls trip and heads to the cabin early to escape Jared, Ella gets an unexpected visitor. Seems like there was a giant miscommunication. This could be easily solved except for the six feet of snow that piled up overnight and that keeps coming down. Now Jared and Ella are stuck together until they can be dug out.

Ella is on tour with the grumpy drummer, Jared. As much as she tries to stay away from him. Something always puts them back together. Getting away she goes to a cabin for some peace and quiet. Waiting for the rest of her female friends, when the one person she did not want to see walks in. Now they are stuck together, all alone. Could this unlikely couple make the best of their time together? Or will they make each other miserable? Is romance building in that cabin? No Spoilers to be found here. This is a new author for me. This is one book I am happy to own. Her writing is clear and easy to follow. I love the characters and the way they work around each other. They make you feel like they are your friends too. This is the fourth book in the series, and could be a standalone. I will however be starting the first book in this series. I want to read more, to complete the series.

Jared and Ella's story is so good! I devoured this book! From lovers to enemies to lovers again, the back and forth between these two will keep you asking will they or won't they? I appreciated the build up to the steamier moments, and the real life issues they faced. I would definitely recommend this book, and I can't wait to read the rest in this series and more from this author!

They began as lovers but quickly changed to enemy's as Ella is faced with Jared's true nature while on tour with his band as a babysitter. At the first chance, Ella escapes early to a cabin but unfortunate events and an approaching snow storm have her trapped there with Jared. As the two try to figure out their balance and understanding of one another, they quickly realize that they do have feelings for each other. We are faced with the question if these two former lovers can reignite the spark and make it last in the real world. I really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend to anyone who likes the enemy to lover trope.

This is the first book I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I love reading a good rocker romance but this story exceeded my expectations. This is the fourth book in the True Platinum and it could be read as a stand alone. I read it as a stand alone but now I have to know more about these other characters as well. I could not put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see who she is going to write about next.
