A tragic accident.
A wicked truth.
A heinous plot.
When a former gold medalist dies on the ski slopes of an upscale resort, Tyson and his Navy buddy, JD, suspect foul play. But local authorities dismiss it as an accident.

If Tyson and JD don’t investigate, no one else will.

What was supposed to be a relaxing holiday vacation turns into a nightmare as the duo is sucked into a twisted web of jealousy, contempt, and possibly murder.

Evil lurks in the posh resort, and the stakes are deadly.

To complicate matters, Tyson takes on a cold case in sunny Florida. The search for a missing girl leads down a treacherous path, and the duo uncovers a monstrous secret. The case may be old, but time is running out.

Outside their jurisdiction and lacking support, can the deputies unravel the mystery and bring their brand of justice to the winter wonderland?

Or will they face an icy demise as they near the target?

It’s skis, snow bunnies, and peppermint schnapps as the best friends tackle crime amid the snow-capped peaks.

The usual characters of this series appear once again, except for Tyson's sister, who has disappeared from his life. The plea of a mother of a ten-year-old case of the missing girl, Lily Walsh, opens the action for this book. Tyson Wild and JD, however, are off to a winter gig with the band. They expect to enjoy their escape to the mountains to be relaxing. It is until the discover the body of the beautiful and wealthy socialite who has hired them to play, Winter, is uncovered by Tyson on one of the slopes.

As in all the books of this series, dead bodies seem to thwart whatever Tyson and JD have planned. True to his style, Ellis, continues to present a series of beautiful girls that cross paths with Tyson and JD. In the first novels of this series, espionage and physical conflict dotted the terrain. The longer Tyson Wild no longer works as a covert operator, his character has mellowed with age. Although not as thrilling as the first novels, Ellis does spin a captivating tale.

Will JD and Tyson ever hang up their capes?

I like these destination stories

Coconut County gets boring with multiple threads on different crimes. The Cruise and now this one were really nice breaks.
