Read the first three books from 'The Billionaire's Love Story', a contemporary romance serial set in New York.
Tobias Stone, a billionaire hedge fund owner, has plenty of wealth but lives an empty life devoid of love. Struggling to come to terms with his past, he uses his wealth to insulate him from the real world where everything can be bought. Even sex.
Savannah Page, a debt-ridden single mom, has come to New York with her young son, Jacob, to make a fresh start. Struggling to make ends meet, she is determined to make a good life for both of them.
What happens when the billionaire with too much money, meets the single mom with too much heart?
Lily Zante is the author of over sixty contemporary romance and women's fiction novels. After spending two decades working in IT, she decided to give writing another try. Given her love of The Walking Dead, she started off writing zombie fiction but quickly dove into writing romance instead. She's glad she switched.
Good story (so far), but beware...Story is told over 3 differently titled series of 3 books each
Do you hear my screams of frustration and anger?
This book popped up on my FB feed and the excerpt sounded interesting so I clicked on it to check it out. The ad said "The Gift" series, "Boxed set - Books 1-3". I thought okay, a series but boxed at one price. To be sure I checked the ad more closely; I didn't want to get stuck having to buy a bunch more books to finish one story. But No, it only referenced "3 books...complete set" for only $2.99. Great deal, so I one clicked and bought. Started reading.... and yes, I loved the story. So why am I screaming? Because I was deceived....lied to! "What?, How? " you ask.
Well...Yes, the ad was correct that there were only 3 books in the series titled "The Gift"; but it failed to mention the story doesn't end in "The Gift" series! Oh No...it continues in books 1-3 of "The Offer" series. But wait...It doesn't even end there! Nooooo....it continues in books 1-3 of "The Vow" series. The ad the link took me to failed to mention this; I LOOKED, so I would have SEEN if it had! So yeah! I'm frustrated and angry because a story I thought was $2.99 ends up being $15.
It's a new way for authors to make more money on their stories. First they split the story into a series of books and offered the first free to get you hooked before you discovered there were more sold at higher prices. But we got wise, started checking before purchase; asking questions so we'd know what (and how much) we were getting into up front. So they've come up with a new method...Advertise as "ABC" series boxed set and sell for a low price, then Surprise, the story doesn't end in "ABC" series; No, it continues... in the "DEF" series which sells for a higher price; and in the "GHI" series which sells for even more! BEWARE BOOK LOVERS! Do your due diligence research before purchase; look up the book independently, don't trust links from FB or email ads.
Okay, now that I've got my rant out of the way.....What did I think of "The Gift" series? Well...I loved it! I loved the characters too.
The H, Tobias, is a broken billionaire who married his high school sweetheart when he was still a man of modest means. She was killed in an auto accident. He was so devastated he threw himself into his work taking his company from a small time success to the top 100 in the 4 years after her death, making him a billionnaire. In the process he's learned not to trust people, that they all want something from him, to use him....money, connections, something he can do for them. As a result, he's cold, ruthless and avoids emotional entanglements.
The h, Savannah, married her sweetheart in college & had her son Jacob. Her husband, after losing his job and being too proud to take a lower position, remained unemployed and soon became emotionally abusive. When the abuse became physical, she divorced him and left with her son to live with an Aunt in another state. After a year working menial jobs and never getting ahead, they move to N.Y. She has a rent free place to live for 6 months while she gets her life in order...finds a good paying job and affordable housing. She's gun-shy when it comes to relationships, but has learned to stand up for herself and never let anyone walk all over her or belittle her again.
They first meet at a toy store during an annual charity event held by Tobias's company. He spots a little boy staring through the window and is reminded of himself at that age when his family had very little and invites them in. Tobias explain to Jacob that it's a special night because all the kids there get to pick a toy and it's then delivered for them to open Christmas morning. He tells Jacob to pick something but before he can, Savannah, who's been told by another that the store is closed and it is a private event, apologizes and leaves with her son. A week later she arrives for a 2 week temp job, not realizing it is Tobias's company (she'd thought he worked at the toy store) so is surprised to see him. What ensues is an attraction both fight; and some accidental encounters where the 3 spend time together. But just when things start looking up and they start to admit their attraction, a misunderstand leads the H to assume she is just like everyone else afterall. "The Gift" series ends as he's learned something that makes him realize his assumptions may have been very wrong.
The character interplay is good and the way the relationship progresses is believable...(except what she did at the end without explanation first which led to the misunderstanding). However, he finds out the why quickly so resolution is expected soon in the next set series, "The Offer". I also loved her son, Jacob, and his relationship with Tobias. If Tobias has faults (and he does), his attitude and relationship with Jacob is his redeeming quality and gives you insight into his true character.
First of all..... You do not put ketchup on a hot dog!! Now on to the books.... This was the most boring lead up to another box set that I have ever read. Three books in and they have kissed......once!!!!! No I will not be buying the next book. Yes I do feel like I wasted my time reading this box set. It got 2 stars because it was not a grammatical nightmare.
Let me say first that I am a person that loves romances but I avoid serial type romances that's story spans 5 to 10 books before you get to a happy ending....The Billionaire's Love Story series by Lily Zante is a serial type romance....and yes I gave it 5 stars.......
the first three books , The Gift Box Set, was a freebee. so what did I have to loose. Lily Zante was a new author for me and when reading the description.....single struggling mother moving to a new city with her son to start over after divorcing an abusive husband and meets her soul mate. Well I have to tell you I am a sucker for that type of book, so as I said what do I have to loose it is free.....
What I did not expect was the talented writing of Ms. Zante. She made her characters, Savannah, her son Jacob and the elusive, incredibly handsome billionaire Tobias Stone come to life. In first three books in The Gift Boxed Set the author sets the stage .....Not only do you learn about Savannahs' difficult marriage but her struggles as she makes her way in a new city while apartment sitting her cousins apartment. You feel Savannahs' love for her little boy Jacob and her fears on finding a permanent full time job to support them along with an apartment of their own. In these first three novels you will also meet the ruthless, elusive Tobias Stone. A man that has reached the very top of his profession. In these first three novels is when Savannahs' and Tobias' worlds collide....and may I say what a wonderful coalition it is.....strong recommend The Gift Boxed Set of the Billionaire's love Story bks 1 thru 3........
Angsty read. Tobias is a cruel abrupt arse but he's hurting. Savannah is poor but proud; not his type; slowly she's melting his shell. Loving these books.
Goodreads lost my review and I'm not going to do a full rewrite.
Writing is good and I liked the story so far but this is a serialized or maybe Kindle Vella slow burn story that seems to never get anywhere expeditiously. By the end of book 3, the main characters shared exactly one kiss. The story stops abruptly, setting you up for continuing with The Offer (3 more books), and The Vow (yet another 3 books). I'm really not feeling that committed to continue with 6 more books to get to a happily ever after.
This is a Tiktok/Instagram got me book. I kept seeing one scene over and over and had to find out what happened. Savannah is a single mom trying to provide for her son and Tobias is a billionaire who has closed himself off. I really enjoyed this book, but I am glad I got the box set since it is three in one. The three fell very short because they go so fast. It also ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger, so I had to pick up the next 3 book set when I finished.
This is a nine book series divided into three parts – The Gift, The Offer, and The Vows. I am right now reviewing only the first three, i.e. The Gift as I have yet to pick up the rest of the books.
Each of the books is a short story and an easy read, but are definitely not stand alone as each book ends at a point which is picked up in the next book. The writing is smooth, the story - interesting and engaging. You may find yourself reading up all of them in a row – well within a couple of hours.
The story revolves around the life of Savannah Page and her struggle to provide a better life for her son and how her job at the Stone industries brings a change in her life she had never anticipated.
I liked the way Lily Zante builds a soft romance with not too much of unnecessary drama. The mother's priorities are very clear and we do not see her swooning over a rich gorgeous guy like in other books. Our rich guy, Tobias Stone, is a strong complex character. It was quite a relief that no one got overwhelmed by hormonal urges and there was no dropping of pants at every turn of the page.
Can't wait to pick up the other books in the series and read more.
the gift! box set!! A billionair storie of high level! So different from the usual alpha billionair heated, steamy stories! but way better and refreshing, a pleasure to read! for me it was a page turner and spent every spare minute to read till the end! I was eager to know what would happen next to the tw omain characters as they were so different from each other! exellent story and so much thanks to the author for such a good story! BUT!!! can you imagine my great disappointment when finishing the boxset and dicover that the story is just halfway and continues with the boxset ,the offer!! the biggest didappointment is!! the gift boxset is avaible at ibooks ,but the offer boxset is not! so i am not able to read the other part as i cannot purchase at amazon! Really ,really, really to bad!!!!
I have to admit I wasn’t sure about this series when I first started it. I had a hard time getting into. It took me a little bit to get used to the voice in which the novel was written. Once I got into the story of Tobias and Savannah I was hooked, and at the point I downloaded the other other two series at the point.
Savannah and Tobias both have past that are hard don’t make it easy to trust other people.
Can they and will they let down the walls that they have built and find love together?
It was a breath of fresh air to see Tobias be the first one to begin to let his wall down. I love Tobias on so many levels. He has all the money in the world, but he doesn’t flaunt or use that to his advantage in this personal life. You will definitely fall in love with him because I know that I did.
I chose to rate this boxed set a heavenly 5 stars because it played with my emotional quirks.
It's a realistic story line about a single mother who is trying her best to provide for her child and herself. Coming out of a physical and mentally abusive marriage, Savannah strives to make ends meet on her own. She struggles a lot but has the determination to do what is acquired. She finds herself attracted to Tobias, who has let tragedy turn him into a cold and bitter man.
What happens next you might ask? Well, buy this boxed set and you can be the judge.
I would recommend this story for all readers who love a realistic stories of a determined single mother.
The Gift Boxed Set ~ The Billionaire's Love Story is the first three stories in a series about Tobias Stone, a billionaire and Savannah Page a single mother with an adorable son named Jacob.
Story List: The Gift ~ Book 1 ~ Tobias meets Savannah and Jacob and offers him a choice of a Christmas gift. The Gift ~ Book 2 ~ Tobias sends surprise gifts to Jacob and Savannah on Christmas Day. The Gift ~ Book 3 ~ Tobias returns jewelry for his deceased wife and has a major misunderstanding with Savannah.
The story continues in another Boxed Set called The Offer.
I have enjoyed reading this book, can't wait to see how everything goes with Savannah and Tobias. So far it's been exciting to see Tobias coming slowly back to life after losing his wife. Savannah recently divorced from an abusive husband moves to New York with her son to start a new life. Tobias trusts no one and Savannah speaks pretty straight forward. Can't wait to read the next book to see what happens. Love the descriptions of the buildings, the people, her little boy is sweet and her friend. On to more great entertainment. Thank you :)
If your into slow, slow burns this is the story for you. Just to get to a kiss, finally a kiss you will wait to book 3. I didn't realize that this is a Series of 3 books in one combo thing. So the slow burn might continue in the next book 2. I'm kinda debating to continue. Booktok got me to this book and I didn't realize its not a spicy book at this point. Also the 3rd POV was not expecting it and didn't much like it. I had to go back a few times to figure who we were following or who said what.

I was kind of enjoying this until I saw that it was split up into three different 'boxed sets'. Is this a new format that's trending among self published authors now? I'm all for making your money how you can, but this set up just doesn't make sense. Each book read more like a long chapter than a book in a series, so the pacing was just strange after a while. This is free on KU at the moment, so if you want to read all of them, you probably can, but I don't think I'll be continuing it. There was too little development in these three 'books' for me to really have hope that it'll end well.
Great read. This book was well written and the characters were very believable. I liked the way that the main character was such a strong woman with a high level of morals. I would recommend this series to anyone who wants to read a book that leaves you thinking and wanting more.
This is a great read full of tension and suspense, and heart rendering as to what the next chapter will be about between Tobias who is so troubled and Savannah a divorced mom who is so kind hearted and is seeking the best for her son. Hope all goes well in the next series
This series sucked me in but won’t last as a favorite. Savannah was too difficult and in her head. Tobias was yummy but the sex was not described in detail. Definitely not erotica. Jacob was a total cutie. Really great once they achieved real commitment and trust. Last 30% of the last book I enjoyed. Wordy but engrossing.
I'm not sure what to say, I didn't think I'd like this set of books but as I read it kept me drawn In. It's a story about a young woman who is a newly divorced single mom, she was abused by her ex husband to get a new start she and her son move to NY, the man who become make sure to read you will love it !
I enjoyed the The Gift Box set. I loved the characters and story line. I really enjoyed the evolution of Tobias personality. All the feelings Savannah and her son seem to evoke. Looking forward to the next book and how their story turns out.
This is a great series Savannah a single Mom struggling to start over with Jacob a very bright son. Mr Stone has no trust for anyone including Savannah. You will be hooked to this series!
This is a heart-warming series. The author explores a realistic view of shakey romances where the two participants have an emotional scarred past. This is a great read and I reccomend it to anyone who enjoys rollercoaster rides.
My first novels by Lily Zante, but definitely not going to be my last! She has a talent for writing characters that you love and those you don't like at all. Couldn't stop reading once I began!
Again a very good story, well written and with a good flow. Savannah's struggles are very real to low income women like me. We all wish a millionaire would come along to help. Of course, I DO want the next book.
The story is interesting enough trouble is it is a serial, now I have 3 more books to read to carry on with the story...WHY OH WHY do I have to read so many books to get the whole story, I will be very careful of downloading any more of Lily Zante's books....serials I DO NOT LIKE,
What an amazing book. I loved it. The twists and turns are such totally captivating. I couldn't put it down. Will there be a HEA!!!! We'll have to see. I can't wait to start the next one. This is definitely a must read.
Extremely well written & a great plot line. It's dragging on with the characters angst. Splitting the story between 9 different books w/ multiple chapters is just nonsense. She has the ability & imagination to have her story in a better format.
