The fate of the New Frontier rests in the hands of a few brave warriors...

Six months after the deadly attacks on Fort Golden and Estes Park, Colorado is on the verge of collapse. Sam “Raven” Spears and Calvin Jackson struggle to rebuild and protect their families and friends that have remained. Sheriff Lindsey Plymouth and the Rangers desperately fight to hold back the marauders penetrating their borders. And all the while, the bioengineered Wild Fire plague continues spreading through the New Frontier and beyond.

From his throne in Salt Lake City, Rattlesnake leader Eddy “Ahiga” Nez rules the wild lands through terror and violence despite a ceasefire he signed with the newly inaugurated American President. Eddy seeks to expand his reign beyond the borders. To take back what was stolen from his people by any means necessary.

As more blood spills, Raven, Calvin, and Lindsey band together in one last effort to save their home. But to do that, they must stop the source of the evil destroying the New Frontier—Eddy Nez must die.

Good suspense, action, camaraderie, and lots of blood loss. A good finish to the series but, not the best book of the series... though others appear to rate it so, they're wrong. Still a 4.

A spellbinding thriller!

Two blockbuster authors team again to continue their series, the New Frontier. Iowa author Nicholas Sansbury Smith, whose activities include a passion for racing (he is an Ironman triathlete), serving in the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management, working in disaster planning and mitigation, writes best selling books. Texas author Anthony J Melchiorri, originally from Normal, Illinois, holds two degrees - Biomedical Engineering and English from the University of Iowa and eventually completing his doctoral in Bioengineering at the University of Maryland. As a Biomedical Engineer he develops cardiovascular devices for tissue engineering to treat children with congenital heart defects, working with 3D printing technologies among other aspects of this scientifically advanced and advancing arena of study. The literary interaction between these talented men is outstanding.

For those new to this series, the authors summarize the events in Books 1 and 2 – a fine bow to their committed audience. While of course it is preferable to read that first two volumes before WILD WARRIORS, the writing here is so strong and the events covered so spellbinding that this novel could be considered a standalone. Check out the synopsis to get an idea of the direction: ‘Six months after the deadly attacks on Fort Golden and Estes Park, Colorado is on the verge of collapse. But to do that, they must stop the source of the evil destroying the New Frontier—Eddy Nez must die.’

Memorable characters carved out of the military mode bring this post-apocalyptic story into the realm of feasible, as issues of climate change and the ever-evolving pandemic are considered. That makes this novel not only immensely entertaining but also thought provoking! Very highly recommended!

Raven and Creek battle on against Eddy Nez and his Rattlesnake Union.

While Eddy controls Doc Wheeler and his cure for the bioengineered plague Wildfire, he spreads the disease and promises the cure to hold their loyalty. Eddy desires to gain all the lands stolen from Native Americans through the ages. Eddy controls the plague - Wildfire - and the cure - Commander. And with it, he controls much of the New Frontier.
Opposing Eddy Nez and his Rattlesnakes are the remnants of the Steelrunners and the Colorado Rangers led by Sheriff Lindsey Plymouth, along with Sam 'Raven' Spears and a few friends. Eddy and his Rattlesnakes keep popping up and disappearing like "Whack-a-Moles". Frustration grips the small remaining fighters who desperately need some help. All my dear friends and favorite characters keep the fight going. Desperate odds against them, they still must fight on with loved ones lives and future at stake!
Characters we've known and loved are falling right and left as the storyline twists and tangles leading to an inevitable, but far off conclusion. Tension is high, odds against them, the end is approaching, but still to far off to make out! Amazing action and well-written dialogue frame the battle for the future of the New Frontier! This is an amazing read!

This review is part of a 3-part summary I've completed for the entire trilogy of "New Frontier". As a privileged member of the beta review team, I wanted to put all of my thoughts together in one overview to accompany my own final "non-stop" read-through of the finished books!

+++++
Book 3
"Wild Warriors"

Risk everything or lose everything. Your decision, Raven.

Holy guacamole. Tighten your chin straps, make sure your seatbelt is securely fastened and please put your tray tables in the upright position. If you're looking for non-stop breakneck action from two of the best writers in the business, well, you're in the right place!

Fear is not the killer. Weakness is the killer. Yielding to fear is the killer.

Need a recap (noting the ones Smith and Melchiorri provide are perfect!)? Well, Eddy Nez's maniacal reign has grown by leaps and bounds. His insanely monstrous nature is on full display in this final breath-taking chapter of the new Trackers series. From burning people alive to kidnapping children and the elderly - just a couple of the most vulnerable victims he abuses throughout - his terrorist activities continue to haunt every aspect of the apocalyptic wasteland of the New Frontier. Even 6 months after the terrible events described in the last book, things look more and more dire for not only our heroes and their families, but really America as a whole. And only helping along are what seem to be an all-too-real contigency of cowardly politicians that think more about their positions of power than they do the welfare and freedom of their own people, lying and conniving their way to power for the sake of power only. The problems only continue to build as both the desperation - and the horror - are set on full blast!

This will be the start of a revolution.

All hope is not lost but damn, it isn't easy to see! This is one of those epic battle tales that see our heroes fighting every inch of the way to their final confrontation with the enemy. There are more action sequences that even someone as verbose as I am with my reviews can even begin to list here. And yes, just as I mentioned with Book 2, this is an exhausting struggle. You'll find yourself out of breath, emotional and just beset from all sides by the on-going confrontations that our teams are faced with. And you may want to take notes along the way because there is SO MUCH going on!

Soon there would be more and more graves, especially as the winter wore on.

Again, just the sheer amount of action and the intertwining yet perfectly weaved-together plot lines is a trademark of both authors. And here it really shines as before we reach our ultimate destination there is just an incredible amount of struggle and loss to recover from! This chapter obviously has to be enjoyed as it was written, as the stunning climax to a complete (?) journey. So really, if you're picking up this book and starting here, stop. Go back to the first one, heck go back to the original series and see how this all unfolds. You won't regret it for a single second, from fighting the North Koreans to Nazis to Iranians to the Rattlesnakes and oh so many more!! I've read the trilogy in one form or another twice now and I still have some slack-jawed amazement as to how it could have progressed this far in what was supposed to be a great country that could survive against all comers! But it still reads in a way that leaves the reader convinced it could really happen this way!

This is not the America I fought and bled for. This is not America at all.

All I can conclude with is that you'll never forget Calvin and Lindsey and Raven. Ever. And whether it's a brave girl that returns to Estes Park after 2 years surviving in the wilderness or a mountain of a man that lays down his life running the rails, the supporting cast is one for the ages. And yes, you also have to include the villains in there who will certainly haunt my nightmares for a long while yet to come. No spoilers, sorry. But dang, you have got to see how this one ends!

Oh and you like scenes with trains, like the one we had in Book 1? Well, I've got good news and I've got bad news…

This character driven, emotionally charged book is the last in the series and it's an edge of your seat read. A newly elected President Shelby and Rattlesnake leader Eddy Nez have agreed to a ceasefire which we all know Eddy and his Rattlesnakes will not honor. Raven, Calvin and a couple of his Steel Runners head out in one direction to get other communities to join the final battle while Lindsey, Jay and a few more head out in the other direction on the same mission, will they succeed? Eddy has come up with two totally horrifying plans to take out everyone not under his rule in the New Frontier. The final battle starts and will only be a success if Eddy is stopped and dead. Will Raven and the others win and what will be the cost? I highly recommend this series to any fan looking for an exciting read of good vs evil.

Decent end to the series

I really liked yhe characters in the book. Lots iof depth to each one. I liked how thus ended on a positive note after all of the doom and gloom in book two and the early part if thus book. The story did get a bit fantastical for ke with the good HUGS akeays never learning from thier failures much of the time making it almost too easy for the bad guys. But the had guys were crazy evil. Yikes. Almost a bit much fir I e at keast. Overall I enjoyed it to finish out the series which was mostly very good. These kast 2 books were not as goid as the rest for me. But they complete the story.

Action to the end

While I don't read a lot of military based fiction, I got into this series and couldn't stop. This third and "final" installment in the series is just as good as the other two, if not better. The action is nearly nonstop and the characters continue to develop, as do their interactions with one another and their relationships. I'm not going to give anything away, but I think the author's fans will enjoy this book. There may be a few extraordinary things that happen, but they always do when heroes are involved.

New Frontier series is great

It's been a wild ride since the Trackers series, I didn't realize just how much I missed reading about Raven, Creek and Estes Park. Nicholas did such a good job with Trackers and I was absolutely thrilled to go back to Colorado for more adventures. Thank you for sharing these fantastic tales of unlikely heroes, love, loss and the drive to keep doing the right thing.

Wild Warriors (New Frontier Book 3)

Holy hello that was awesome! I have thoroughly, immensely enjoyed the Trackers and New Frontier Series. Nicholas Sansbury Smith and Anthony J
Melchiorri are both such powerful writers in their own rights, when they write together it is explosive! Don't pick it up unless you've got enough hours to finish it because you will not want to put it down!

This was a great follow up series to the original Trackers series! Great characters I will never get tired of reading or listening about. I hate to see it end, but loved having more of these great characters. Bronson Pinchot does a great job with the narration as always! I'm hoping Nicholas Sansbury Smith will use him again in a future series.

Great Series!

I just finished reading this series and it is definitely worth the read! The characters are so real…even the bad guys. I worried more about Creek throughout the whole series (and I’m a cat person 😂). I lived on Colorado for a bit and I could almost smell the pine trees.

wonderful read

What a great story line, exceptional introduction of characters letting the reader remember people from the first book to the last. Thank you for such a warm reading series.
It’s Moose, not Mouse. Every time I saw that name it made me sing, in my head, the old Mickey MOUSE song in my head just to remind me he was Moose.
