The Prohibition Sinners #1

Shared by the Sinners

Rate this book
Resisting my enemies might prove harder than I thought.

Atlantic City is awash with dirty money. The Prohibition has made some good men smug and many bad men rich. I, Rose Greenwood, steer clear of both. I have been dealing with other sorts of spirits: pretending to speak with ghosts on behalf of moneyed widows. Then a fake seance gone wrong had landed me in the clutches of a police inspector who gave me a choice: a prison for fraud or a secret mission on his behalf.

It seems I am to act as a spy in the ranks of Northside Sinners: the most ambitious gang in town, ruled by three notorious brothers.

Kieran, the cold-eyed leader, the master of schemes.

Declan, the scarred soldier who is a bit too handy with the knife.

Colin, the boyish, eager enforcer with a taste for high life.

To escape the trap, I must betray them - but what if my heart betrays me first?

First things first, this series? I'm dying for book 2 to come out.

Spice level is about 3.5/5 - but what spice there is is extremely hot.
Storyline is 4.5/5.

The storyline is good - how the characters past slowly unravels throughout the book and let's you glimpse why they do what they do. The plot of the book is also pretty good, a common trope of enemies to lovers in a RH.

Which leads to the spice. There's some sexy scenes in the book, however they're not over done, nor do they take away from the storyline. If anything, they add to it because it shows another depth to the characters.

Overall thoughts:

This book, which I did receive as an ARC but that hasn't biased my review, is very well written. The characters have flaws and aren't overpowered. I do like the way the author has incorporated the characters pasts in the book, and the way that the characters develop throughout the book. This is a very good first book in the series, and I'm excited to find out what happens to the rest of the characters and how the storyline develops.

Set in Atlantic City during the Prohibition Era, Shared by the Sinners is the debut novel of Diana Stark, and sets the stage for a very appealing reverse harem dark romance.

We meet Rose Greenwood, a single woman trying to make it in a world not made for her. She runs a psychic scam for war torn widows, and when her livelihood is threatened by the law she takes the only way out: a deal to gather intel on some rum runner mafia men.

When the opportunity to become a bookkeeper for the more legitimate side of their business presents itself, Rose becomes entrenched in the ins and outs of living below the law. She quickly lands in the beds of all three brothers and leaders of the Northside Sinners, Kieran, Declan, and Colin.

For Kieran, she's a means to an end as a pretty jewel on his arm to ward off any rumors of something wrong with him. She plays the part well, almost too well...

For Declan, she's an outlet. He's the enforcer, the boots on the ground during a war over the rights to New York City, and having Rose in his bed is the best way to blow off steam after other less pleasurable heated encounters.

For Colin, she's a firecracker that lights up his sky. As the youngest, he enjoys the finer things in life, and Rose Greenwood is the finest of them all.

Shared by the Sinners was a quick enjoyable dip into the underbelly of prohibition times, and with the unresolved tension between the matriarch of the Northside Sinners and Rose, and the gang's foray into New York, I personally can't wait to see where the next book takes us.

What an amazing debut book

I really enjoyed this book.
The book is based in 1920s America and focuses on Rose and the O'Shae brothers known as the sinners. After she is arrested for fraud, Rose is blackmailed by a police officer to infultrate the sinners and report back to him so he can bring them down. However, the officer didn't see Rose falling for not just one but all of the O'Shae brothers.

The world building in this book is really good and lays a good foundation for the rest of the series. Each new character is introduced with just the right amount of information to let you know what role they will potentially play in the book but not overwhelm you too much.

The writing is very good. The storyline is compelling and had me hooked from the first page. I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series and see how the relationship between Rose and the O'Shae brothers develops.

Firstly, a big thank you to the author for sending me a copy of her book :)

I was immediately intrigued by the words RH Mafia and let me tell you, this one did not disappoint!

Debut novel Shared by the Sinners is a Mafia Romance set in the 1920s and it was everything I hoped it would be! I absolutely loved the relationships between the FMC with each of the brothers and the whole mafia gang feel. My only wish would be that I was hoping for a group scene 🙈 ( Sorry to my family and friends that see this review hahaha) However, this is only the first book so I’m really excited to see where it goes!

For being novella length this book was very well written and incredibly thorough!

This is the first book in a series.

This is a why choose set during the prohibition in Atlantic City, we meet Rose along with the Northside Sinners, brothers Kieran, Declan and Colin.

Rose is blackmailed to spy on the brothers…but can she do what’s being asked without falling for the brothers?

This book had me hooked from the beginning. It was a fast read, about 200 pages and doesn’t end on any huge cliffhanger, though you will be excited and ready for book 2!

Story 4⭐️
Spice 4⭐️🌶️ (not a lot of spice, but what’s there is hot)

I got an ARC copy and this is my honest and true review

I really enjoyed this book! While I have read quite a few mafia romances, the 1920’s prohibition-era setting was really cool and felt authentic and well researched. I loved how dynamic Rose was and how well she fit with each of the brothers. Overall, this story was a quick but enjoyable read. My only (minor) hang up is that there were quite a few formatting errors in my physical ARC copy that would take me out of the story. Even so, I look forward to reading the rest of the series when it releases.

The beginning had me hooked as it gave me kind of a peaky blinders setting(may just be me lol). I liked how the author described each brother, you could picture each one. I gave it 4 stars because of the ending. I feel like it was rushed a bit and not the ending I would have imagined given how the author portrayed the sinners to be. Good book nonetheless and will be looking for the next in the series.

Mafia romance back in time….And I’m obsessed with it! Declan the cold blooded killer, Kieran the broody serious one, Colin the always playful jokester and Rose the strong FMC that would do anything to protect her guys.

I was a bit skeptical of a historical setting, but this one is done right! With a Peaky Blinders sort of feel, it has it all - emotion, spice, and a well paced plot line. Definitely a must read for those of you who enjoy the historical gang/mafia romances. I am so excited to read part two!

2/5🌶️

I was not sure what to expect out of a 1920’s gangster romance but boy was I impressed. Rose is such a sweet and demure lady on the outside but has the darkness needed to be shared by the sinners! If you like a little historical romance mixed with a good helping of why choose and gangs this is the book for you. I cannot wait to read book two and see what shenanigans Rose and her men get up to!

Overall, a 4.5/5 rating but I'll round up to the 5 stars!!! I received this book as an ARC, and I enjoyed reading it, I could not put it down.

This is a Mafia Romance, during the prohibition era (1920s). With the common tropes of enemies to lovers and a RH. The Plot and storyline are excellent 4/5 as well as the character building 4/5. Over the course of the story, we learn about the characters past which allows you to see why they do the things they do in the present.

Now let's talk about the Spice 3.5/5. This is the first book in the series, so I am hoping the spice will get better. The sexy scenes we were given are great.

Overall Thoughts....

The Roaring 20s is one of my favorite time periods of the US. So, I personally had really high expectations for the world building. I was not disappointed, what was brought to the pages was great, I was able to imagine being there at the time brining the story to life. I enjoyed reading about the characters, personalities, flaws, past and presents and seeing how they developed. I cannot wait to see what happens next to the Northside Sinners.
