Trix

The last time I ignored the red flags, I almost died.

Waking up in a body bag tends to put things into perspective.

My scars are a reminder to stay in my lane.

I don’t take risks. I don’t take candy from strangers. I don’t leave my doors unlocked,

And I never, ever play with monsters.

Until Kenzo,

My next red flag.

With his sinful looks and wicked mouth,

He’s a silver-tongued devil in disguise

And my one-way ticket to hell.

Kenzo

Women are just a means to an end,

A release after a day spent seeped in chaos and violence.

They’re all the same: blonde, curvy, interchangeable Barbie dolls.

I get in, get off, and get out.

That’s my motto for an easy life.

Until Trix.

My new complication.

With her scarred body and haunted eyes,

She quickly becomes my obsession,

And broken dolls are much more fun to play with.

Author note: Kenzo is more villain than white knight so please only read Compel if you have a crooked moral compass and like your heroes on the deranged side like I do.

*This book plays with the darker side of love, such as obsession, infatuation, and the power plays made to obtain it.*

Triggers: It goes without saying that this book contains dark elements that some readers may find uncomfortable, including offensive language, graphic violence, and explicit sexual situations. Suitable only for those aged eighteen and over.

Still a little unsure about my rating but Trix was just so 😑.

“You were mine before I even knew you existed. You can fight it all you want, but you won’t win. There isn’t a rule or law I won’t break to keep you.”

Kenzo was CRAZYYYYYYYY. But call me insane...I loved him. Completely OTT and possessive and just bat shit crazy.

Trix? I COULD NOT STAND HER.

Compel is a dark mafia romance with a stalker hero and an abused heroine. I love the coersion and manipulation involved, this reminded me of the Capture Me series by Anna Zaires. I didn't know there was a Book 1 in this series before reading Compel, but this is a standalone book and can be read separately.

Trix and Kenzo bump in a market and after that he has been obsessed with her. Where Trix tries to avoid everyone and attract little attention Kenzo is determined to bring her out and keep her to himself. Trix had a traumatic past, she is nervoud around Kenzo, her body is full of scars and Kenzo keeps pushing her, using every stalkerish, possessive and obsessive ways he forces into a relationship with her. Trix tries to keep her emotional state intact around him Kenzo's attraction was overwhelming to her and she can't help but be attracted to him.

I liked Kenzo, he has a very filthy mouth with a dark humor:
"Then why the fuck are you sweating like a whore in church?"
"What is so important that you needed to finger my doorbell like a frat boy trying to find the clit?”,
he 'wipes' any person from existence if he is annoyed/angry with that person, he has strange ways to woo a girl. In few reviews it was mentioned they were a little annoyed with the heroine but I thought she was nubile. Trix was good in keeping her secrets and the revenge she took for the abuse she suffered was outdone, I got the Lana vibes from Mindfuck series by S.T. Abby.

Compel was engrossing and fast paced. The plot twist and revenge was unexpectable. Highly recommend.

I am loving this series. I didn’t think in some Kenzo could have been worse but his friend from previous books but he was! I love the way this author writes her female heroines too. They are so strong not in a G.I Jane kind of way but in their thinking and their really mature way of dealing with problems and situations. She also gives her female leads a warmth and truly humane side that makes them instantly likeable and relatable for me. The only gripe I had in this book was the evil person had too quick of a demise. I wanted more buildup and I wanted that scene to be longer so I felt validated that this nasty person truly felt fear. Also the other person tied to the nasty one also got off too easily and I think for what they did they didn’t suffer enough or as long as they should have. Still a great great series and I cant wait for next one. Hopefully it will be M/F too!

I absolutely devoured this book in one single night. The minute I saw this came out, I immediately started it because i loved Coerce so much (the first book from the series, if you don’t already know).
I LOVED the hero, the heroine was a little annoying at times and I wish we could’ve gotten more smexy scenes between them overall. But their chemistry was off the charts and I especially loved how unhinged he was for her.
It was a nice change for me after a while I couldn’t find anything satisfying.
The twist I saw coming from a mile away but props to the author for keeping my interest anyway.
Lots of different triggers here so maybe beware before going in blind.

Just like its predecessor (which I loved by the way), this was a complete toxic mess. I’m obviously totally messed up because again I just couldn’t get enough of it. This had the edge for me over the two books and though I did enjoy both immensely this second story just managed to enthral me so completely. Be aware it’s a toxic one and the hero Kenzo is no hero more like an obsessed stalker with no boundaries whatsoever, my ideal type of book boyfriend.

So this is Kenzo and Trix’s story and it’s a complicated intricate mess. Both of their lives are intertwined more than they could ever have realised, I did guess how but it didn’t detract one iota from my enjoyment. Kenzo is instantly obsessed determined to do whatever it takes to fully possess Trix, she though is understandably wary with some major trauma in her background Kenzo is every red flag she could imagine and more.

But it’s not like she has a choice in this Kenzo is like a bulldozer riding roughshod over all of her objections. There’s trauma plenty of darkness and violence twists and turns a plenty. Do be aware this is not a traditional love story Kenzo does some very questionable things during this and he doesn’t even care that his little rabbit hates him for it as long as he gets to keep her despite all of her protests to the contrary.

Loved where this eventually went especially with all of the reveals along the way. What a fabulous ride this was I was hooked from the get-go. Also included are some brief cameos of Atlas and Ivy from the first book which I definitely appreciated. This really was a toxic obsessive borderline abusive mess I can’t stress this enough don’t read this unless your prepared to set aside your morality compass, I myself loved this and literally devoured it in record time.

I recommend this to all my book friends who like an unapologetic antihero who stays true to type has zero boundaries and is batshit cray cray with zero apologies given as Kenzo definitely has that vibe down. Just don’t be expecting a hearts and flowers romance this is so not it. On a side note, this definitely can be read as a stand-alone with no issues but I’d recommend reading both just because they're both so good.

Welcome.🖤

Wow, i didn’t expect any of that!!

Compel is definitely a dark romance. There are no innocents here, and even the ones who were victims before, are now anything but that.

Just like Atlas, Kenzo is a bad man, but his manipulations are more evident. He doesn’t really hide the monster within. But I have to say I quite enjoyed his dark humor and he made me laugh a few times. Other times i just wanted to slap his face 🤷‍♀️

Just like Ivy, Trix seems to be the damselle in distress who needs to be saved, only to catch the attention of a monster. But looks can be deceiving ....

The story is gripping; i read it in one sitting. There was everything I like:
a twisted obsession, a mistery to resolve, a twist i didn’t see coming until the end, a villain who remain villain even when he falls in love...

To be honest I liked this one a bit more than Coerce. However the series so far is great, and I totally enjoy Candice Wright' writing style: it's easy to read, fast paced and addictive.
I don't know if she plan to write more about this world but I hope so.

I don’t even know what to say, my thoughts are everywhere. As I’m reading this I’m thinking “this is a decent book and I’m enjoying it but it’s nothing special” then BAM that last 10% hits me like a fucking truck. I honestly didn’t predict it what so ever and that never happens.
I did enjoy this book overall and it ticks so many box’s but there was just something small lacking that could have made this five stars. I’m not sure what because there wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy but I just wanted more. Still a great read and definitely recommend it!

I actually finish this one (i DNF the 1st) the story kept me interested, but the line between possessive and abuser is so thin that I couldn't really enjoy it.

The h was the best part of the story, kudos for her brilliant mind!

What a twist

Kenzo works for Atlas. On a job he returns Hoffman's wife to him not knowing that it really isn't her.

In steps Grid she is totally damaged and with good reason. The book keeps you reading that's for sure.

Kenzo does things to Grid that some would find offensive. Especially when she gets pregnant and never had sex with him. And doesn't remember what happens.

Top that of with a killer on the loose as well as a thief causing problems. You have a great dark twisted read!

I didn't like this book. The hero bumps into the heroine at a market. He is immediately obsessed with her. He finds out she works at a cleaning company and gets her cell phone number and pays her to clean his hotel room.

He drugs her hotel bottled water and while she is drugged and asleep he does things to her without her consent.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

He breaks into her house, (she doesn't know it's him) so she'll get scared and move in with him. He continues drugging her bottled water and touching her with his genitals and ejaculating in or on her genitals.

Her rule for their relationship is no intercourse. She says she is not ready. So when they are awake they have oral sex or foreplay.

She finally decides she is ready to have intercourse and goes to get birth control. She is told she is already pregnant. She hasn't had sex in years so she knows the hero must have raped her. She confronts him. She is extremely angry.

She has scars all over her body. She was purposely knocked up by her boyfriend years ago who was a married man. He chose her because she looks like his wife. He wanted to steal her baby since he thought his wife couldn't have kids.

That guy's wife and wife's lover cut her baby out of her and buried them both in a graveyard. Heroine somehow survived.

So to get revenge she's been digging up the bodies and leaving them at properties her former boyfriend owns, to get him questioned by the police. She eventually kills the boyfriend and his wife. Then she drugs hero with his own water and escapes.

He looks for her but can't find her. Finally he finds her childhood home where she is waiting, heavily pregnant for him. They live happily ever after.

The writing was good and I wanted to know what happened next but I just felt bad for the heroine. I thought the hero was a real meanie.

I waited a long time for this book! So long that my husband actually finished pooping on the toilet before it came out. tHaTS how long its been since coerce 😂😂😂

5 stars for this book. It was different, Interesting, compelling (👀) and delicious.

It was a little tough to read about the h and her pregnancy and baby so if that's a trigger, just beware. There's also forced pregnancy and violence and all that fun stuff! 😂😂

Loved it and I hope for more from ms. Wright like coerce and compel! She's basically, like, my best friend 😂😏

Trix is scarred and in hiding after her ex boyfriend tried to murder her. On day she bumps into Kenzo who's Atlas' bodyguard or something. I never got a clear idea of Kenzo's position with Atlas only that they are best friends. Kenzo is intrigued and thus begins his stalking of the poor woman. Only Kenzo has no idea who he set his sight on.

Kenzo is a monster, make no mistake. He did fall in love with Trix but he pulls some real psycho moves to insert himself in her life and force her to move in with him. I notice that in this series, the men are all tough badasses but have no clue that the women they're stalking are monsters themselves. I love that Kenzo was completely clueless and Trix managed to pull of her revenge plan perfectly. Also Kenzo and Atlas' friendship was enjoyable to read about with Atlas giving Kenzo a kick in the ass when he was moping. I did wince at the final sex scene but Trix seemed to like it so that's all that matters. This book was written better than the first one where I got confused over Ivy's secret. This time I was able to follow the plot and it made sense. I've gotta read more from this author's catalogue.

Compel (Death in Bloom Book 2) by Candice Wright is Kenzo's story.  Eventhough it is Book 2 reading Coerce which is book 1 in not a necessary read. However Coerce is a good story and gives an introduction to the characters. At a market Kenzo runs into a young lady that sparks something in him and he sets out to find her. Trix is trying to lay low.  She has been through something so traumatic that she is left with a limp and every time she comes home she has to go through a ritual inorder to feel safe. Kenzo is determined to find her an goes through great lengths to find her. Kenzo is a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket and flowers and candy is something he knows nothing about. When he finds her he is over the top and very commanding.  Trix is skittish and leery of Kenzo but there is something about him that draws her in. While they are having a push and pull relationship Kenzo comes to a revelation that has him bulldozing her and Trix is trying to keep her emotional state intact. Pay attention. Hold on to your seats! This story was something else and by the time I got to the end all I can say is YES!!!! YES!!!!! YES!!!!! JUST WOW!!!!! I definitely didn't see that coming! 5 What The Hell Stars was that.

HOLY HELL! Candice Wright makes my dark & twisty soul sing with these books she writes, and please understand Compel is a dark read. Kenzo is that anti-hero who you can't help falling in love with despite the fact that he had me wanting to throat punch him so many times throughout. He's a monster who does what he wants & makes no apologies for it LOL! Trix is the heroine who catches the eye of our monster, and her life will never be the same that's for sure, which is saying something since she's been through a lot that had me all up in my feelings. There's something about Kenzo that makes him perfect for her but there are plenty of big bumps in the road (including some of his decisions). They definitely have heat in spades, and there are twists & turns coming in hot which had me dropping quite a few f-bombs while devouring it in one sitting so this book was perfect in my eyes. I'm very much in love with this author's talent so I'll be waiting for the next dark & twisty book on the edge of my seat, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This book was insane with ROMANTIC SUSPENSE and STALKER elements. There are twist in this story I did not see coming! I loved loved this book. Kenzo is OTT crazy possessive like don’t even look at her vibes or you will end up dead. He pretty much takes over her life with manipulation.

Trix has gone through hell and been back. Even though she has tons of scars both mental and physical and hurts still prevalent, she battles on and has made a simple but good life for her. Have to say that the spice and heat levels are insane and pair it with a psycho, possessive and passionate man and you have burning levels of Heat and Chemistry. 🥵🌶️🔥

BUT THAT ENDING THOUGH.... OMMMGGG..... I'M STILL IN AWE WITH THE CRAZY TWISTS AND SHOCKING TURNS THAT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS ON A TRUE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE.
THIS BOOK WAS MORE TWISTED THAN COERCE.

Oh man! This series is like a drug. The author weaves story’s that throw me at every turn. From start to finish I was hooked on Kenzo and Trix. Kenzo was the perfect crazy hero. I mean, I thought Atlas, was messed up in the first book but wow Kenzo took the cake in this one. I loved every second of him and his messed up mind. My heart hurt so bad for Trix. I understood her so much throughout this book. And I’m the end she was perfect for Kenzo. The twists and turns this book took…… I honestly never want to destroy the end. Sadly it did but honestly it was so good. I really hope this author writes more books on this series or atleast more books with psychotically obsessed heroes like this, and heroines who are their perfect match. 5 stars #2OCCJD

I just hit return book on my kindle and Im honestly lost on what to say in this review. This is standalone but I suggest reading Coerce first because the people crossover. I went into this without reading the blurp or even reviews and Im glad I did. This book was not what I thought it was. Trix and Kenzo were complete opposites it is what kept this book interesting. Kenzo is beyond possessive and he is not even sorry. Trix that girl had strength like no other. The angst was beautiful honestly. As you read there won't be any clues to the twist and once you hit that moment you will need to buckle up. This twist is not like ones Ive read before no this twist is mouth gaped open with your eyes wide. Trust me it's a wild ride and you will love every minute of it.

Kenzo Hayes works in the immoral world with Atlas Monroe. When Trix Reiss tries to lay low after events of the past as a cleaner she wasn’t prepared for when she gets on Kenzo’s radar. This is a very dark and twisted story similar to book one so I don’t want to say too much. This isn’t your typical romance with an antihero, it’s an obsession that runs deep within a villain. When Kenzo wants you, it’s only a matter of time. Red flags galore! I really was intrigued by Kenzo in book one and I am so happy to have his twisted story even if some of his antics do cross the line. Each book can be read as a stand-alone in the series. Told in first person and dual POV.

Ive literally just finished reading Compel and it completely threw me for a loop!! It was like one of those movies where you think you know exactly where its going within the first 30 minutes only to have the rug pulled out from under your feet and the ending is so shockingly brilliant. Thats what this book was and i cant tell you how much of a smile i had on my face reading that ending. Even if with all of the dark content in it there you shouldnt be routing for the anti-heroes as such you kinda do or i did. Some of this book is very dark and the dub-con might not be for everyone but for me it made it an engaging read. That ending was so bloody good though!!

WHAT IN THE WORLDDD!! 🤯
I’m giving this book a 3 stars bec I’m confused. While I enjoyed it a lot in the beginning, I had no idea this book is beyond fucked up 🤯
It seemed more like a psychological thriller to me by the end tbh.
