Something’s fishy at Dogwood Mountain. The picturesque town of Dogwood Mountain, MO draws sportsmen and nature lovers from all over, which should mean great business for donut shop owner and amateur sleuth, Maggie Sharpe.
The season looks promising when a group of fishermen, as well as a group of ladies who love birdwatching, come to town, but chaos reigns supreme when a fight breaks out and a man ends up dead.
When a second victim is discovered, Maggie knows that she has to step in and try to get to the bottom of the mess that’s turning her idyllic little town upside down.
With a long list of potential suspects, and everyone in town looking over their shoulders, Maggie has her work cut out for her, but she’s determined to dig up the truth.
Can she do it in time? Find out in this exciting Cozy Mystery!
This time the mystery was so much better than the one in the previous book and even had a couple murders for Maggie to investigate. Her help was actually welcomed with poking around the Dogwood House B&B that used to be her childhood home. Some of those guests were a real piece o' work, and I felt bad for poor Gretchen having to put up with such nonsense. I liked how Naomi told the customers (who happened to be those same B&B guests) how it was gonna be when one really belligerent customer was trying to hog all the attention too. She's a great fit for the donut team and definitely growing on me.
I liked the showdown at the B&B after a surprise visitor showed up. Another newer character was Kacy Hastings, the latest officer on Brooks's police team. She was right out of academy and Maggie loved taking her under her wing like a mom which was cute how she told her to make herself at home while the officer was guarding the donut shop, the first site for a murder. I liked Ruby's idea of Kacy and Bradley getting together but believe it or not, Maggie hadn't even thought that far, lol. Leave it to Aunt Ruby right? Can't wait to borrow the next one in KU when it comes out!
A group of fishermen and a second group of women bird watchers arrive in town and both are staying at the inn. They both end up at the donut shop where an argument ensues and one if the fishermen is murdered. From there the action picks up and a second murder happens at the inn. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending.
Oh My Gosh! What a completely sad story! Two groups one of women bird watchers the other a group of men fishermen! The two groups can't get along at all! Someone is killed and both groups are sequester together at the local Bed and Breakfast! It's a toss up on who killed the people who are not in the group any longer! Truly truly a sad story!
I just love these books! I love the whole cozy romantic mystery vibe. These are clean, no bad language, and refreshing to read. It puts you in another world for awhile!!!
This is book 20 in the Raised and Glazed Cozy Mysteries Series. Maggie & Ruby own Dogwood Donuts. When a murder takes place in the bakery, the city police and country sheriff head up the investigation.
