The Tower: A Ryan Jarrod Tyneside Crime Thriller

Rate this book
Drugs lord Benny Yu is a man who gets what he wants, and now he wants the man he blames for the break-up of his empire. Benny Yu is back and, this time, he wants Ryan Jarrod.

When DS Jarrod is led into a trap at the foot of Newcastle-upon-Tyne's tallest building, a colleague pays with his life.
The knowledge it was a set-up, with Jarrod the intended victim, rocks the young detective to the core. With his arch-nemesis Benny Yu back in town, Jarrod is pushed to breaking point.
Yu's influences spread far and wide - from Church elders to rock stars, the judiciary to Arab royalty - and, at every step, his evil web ensnares innocents across the region.
Unable to trust his own colleagues, Jarrod knows he alone has the power to bring Yu's reign of terror to an end. With information gleaned from the most unlikely of sources, he seizes the opportunity to play the gangmaster at his own game.
It's a game played out high above the streets of his home City - and only one of them can win.

Think of Ann Cleeves or LJ Ross with the gritty, urban twist of Ian Rankin and Peter James - that's the Ryan Jarrod explosive crime fiction in the mould of traditional dark thrillers.
