This first book in a new series is about a young love story between Tyler and Chloe. Chloe ends their romance and their hearts are shattered when Chloe moves to California to go to college while Tyler remains in their hometown. Tyler can’t accept Chloe’s decision and does everything he can to hold on to Chloe. Their relationship is tested by long distance struggles, growing pains and family troubles. This young couple learns that love is repeatedly tested and that they must work through their troubles in order for their relationship to blossom. There so much love and angst in this story and at times my heart hurt for this young couple. This is an easy read, good love story that I read in one sitting. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Book 1 in the new series Sierra Cove and it was such a great start. Be prepared to be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride that will pull at your heart strings. Loved this second chance romance. Tyler and Chloe were such a great couple to experience. Their love was tested with deaths in both families and then long distance when Chloe went to college. These troubles lead to them parting ways and sending Tyler down a downward spiral that with the help of his brother he was able to recover from. The chemistry and attraction between them was still very potent when Chloe comes back to town. Watching them come back to each other was such a great trip that I will take again and again.

Shatter follows Chloe and Tyler on their angsty, emotional ride. Chloe and Tyler meet in the summer and embark on a romance that has both desperately wanting more by the time Chloe leaves for college.

Chloe's college opportunity gives her the push she needs to sever her ties with her family and her relationship with Tyler, which she is convinced is doomed to fail. The loss she has experienced in her life guides her forward and helps her run away from any chance of future pain.

Tyler is left reeling by Chloe's departure. He had fallen for the beautiful woman who had entranced him from the moment they met. Her leaving shattered his heart. When he takes a chance and follows her to California, she proceeds to stomp on it shattering him completely. He returns home and spirals into a pit complete with alcohol and insecurity. But help comes in the form of his brother who refuses to let him spiral any further. With the support he never knew he needed, Tyler is set on a path to recovery where he finds happiness as a mechanic.

What will happen when Chloe returns on summer break? Will her appearance set back all of his recovery? Will they find their way to each other for a second chance? Can Chloe take a leap of faith and fight for her chance at a real love? Or will her need to protect herself shatter Tyler in a way that he will never recover from?

I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down but I didn’t want it to end! It was full of love, heartache and more love. The title did it justice, because it shattered my heart but by the end it put it back together.

I was upset with Chloe in the beginning because she did to Tyler what she begged him not to do in the prequel (you can get this by signing up for Lyssa’s newsletters). But as I read, I started to understand her reasoning. Once she got over her issues, I loved the love she had for Tyler.

Tyler. Oh poor, sweet, secretive sensitive Tyler. My heart shattered right along with his. I hated to see what he went through with not only Chloe, but his brother and father as well. I love how he found his passion and it helped to shape him into the man he became. I loved his love he had for Chloe through it all.

I do wish that I would’ve seen what happened between Chloe and her mother, and if Drew eventually came around. Maybe a bonus epilogue 😜 could be in the works. I don’t think I got enough of these two! I cannot wait to read the next book!

The last person Chloe ever thought would knock on her door at college in California just happen to be the same man from New jersey who cannot get her out of his mind. But when Tyler shows up Chloe is not happy. It's not that she does not want to see him, but that she is afraid her heart can no longer take the heartache of watching him walk away. When summer comes and they are both back home a change meeting brings them together as "friends". But can you stay friendly with the person who holds the key to your heart and your happiness? Or is heart break the only way to move forward? With characters the reader will instantly fall in love with a a storyline that will tug on your heartstrings, this was a great read.

This story was a sweet read (thanks to Cole's portrayal of Tyler). Chloe had literally 'shattered' Tyler by breaking up with him in their hometown in Jersey to move to the West Coast to go to college and refused his calls and did not respond to his texts. Both parties had lost one parent to death and the other to a failure to thrive without their spouse. We were introduced to their siblings on the West Coast, their new friends, especially Lo's dormmate Madison and her twin Mason, and their old friends in Jersey. I am looking forward to more stories taking place in Sierra Cove where Ty and Lo found their happy ending.

In this book we meet Chloe & Tyler after their breakup.
Chloe wants a different life than what she has right now.
She wants to explore her future without heartache.
Tyler can’t understand why Chloe doesn’t want him anymore when everything seemed to be good between them.
In the time they are apart she wonders if she’s made a mistake.
Tyler pushes at first but then realizes he needs to back off and just let life happen.
Lyssa’s books are ones that you want to hurry and read but don’t want it to end at the same time.

This beautiful romance is going to hit you with all the Feels. You can expect plenty of heart tugging as Chloe and Tyler's romance unfolds. I really like these characters. The chemistry was easy to feel and the emotions they hit you with are powerful. A solid start for this new series that I can't wait to read more of. This is my independent, impartial review.

Beautiful Broken Love
A very intense story that will leave you feeling good at the end. Death, alcoholism and downward spirals leave Chloe and Tyler struggling to survive. Learning to trust themselves and to go after what they want or need makes them both stronger. Can they survive, thrive or will they give in?

I loved Tyler and Chloe’s journey. The high school sweetheart to college age then to adult hood romance is great. I loved reading about the struggles that both had but in the end true love one and they found their way back to each other. It was a well written book and had a great storyline I would definitely recommend this.

Chloe and Tyler's story was one I could not put down. Their relationship ended due to distance but that didn't stop the heart from wanting more. It was such a relatable story to anyone who hasn't been able to sustain a long distance relationship. Throw in family challenges and deaths, it moved my heart so much! Love this second chance romance.

Later on they come back together, but their families doesn’t approve…

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Chloe and Tyler as they try to deny their attraction, try to get over each other and finally come together stronger than ever! There is sweetness, heartache and devastation all rolled into one. I loved how they are both so mature with their relationship towards their families, even though things aren't the best for either of them. I love how Chloe and Tyler just can't resist each other, despite everything! I can't wait to read the rest of the series and find out what happens to all their friends as well! A lovely read!

Good start to the series

I enjoyed getting to read Tyler and Chloe's story.
It wasn't all heart eyes and sparkles, but that made it feel authentic—real.

They both had issues they needed to work through, and while I didn't agree with some of their behaviour I understood why they reacted the way they did.

It was quite a quick read—it was easy to follow the story and even easier to get lost in the pages.

Chloe and Tyler’s story is emotional, angst-ridden and captivating. Both have suffered through the loss of a parent. The loss ricocheted through their families, causing the remaining parent to withdraw, the family dynamics to change and connections to be lost. Chloe and Tyler’s summer romance ends when she leaves to go to college in California. For her, it is a clean break from both her family and her relationship with Tyler which she was sure will inevitably end. She is running from the pain of the past and the possibility of even more pain. For him, her leaving rips his heart out and her silence since her departure deepens the pain. When he follows her to California, her rejection sends Tyler into a drunken spiral that is all too familar in his family. His brother’s intervention sets him on the path to recovery and he finds a new start for himself as a mechanic. When Chloe returns to town on summer break, both are wary and uncertain around each other. An agreement to be friends is reached, but will this lead to more heartbreak or perhaps a second chance at building a future together? Can they put the pain of the past behind them and fight for their love?

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SHATTER" This is an intense emotional story with so many ups & downs, full of emotional turmoil, alcoholism, death, love, angst, shattered dreams, heartache its a page turner to the end.
Chloe & Tyler have suffered so much dealing with the loss of a parent, that effects the whole family, the parent that survives withdraws, she goes off to College in California a break from Tyler & her family.
Tyler feels like his heart has been shattered with Chloe leaving not hearing from her since she left only cause him more pain her rejection srbds him spiraling he's drinking alot his brother intervenes get him working on bring a mechanic.
Chloe & Tyler try to be friends when she returns for summer break but will they become more or will the heartbreak suffered destroy what they had.
I definitely recommend to get this heartwrenching second chance at love romance will Chloe & Tyler get their HEA after all they've been through you must get this story to see how things turn out you so won't be disappointed so well worth the read.

This spinoff of the You and Me series is new and so, so good! Some of the characters are familiar and that's good, but meeting new characters is good too! This book is the story of Tyler and Chloe. They were dating while they were in high school, but broke up when they went their separate ways when Chloe went off to California for college. Tyler missed her and was tired of life in New Jersey, so he came to California where his brother was and dropped in on Chloe. She was rude and pushed him away and he was extremely hurt. Instead of talking out their issues, they fought and Tyler returned home. He had always been good at working on cars, so he found a job and support from his boss. Returning home for the summer, Chloe needed work on her car and Tyler was able to help her. They forge a friendship, but will they ever be able to go back to the way that they were before? Will they learn to communicate and trust each other and in their love?

3.5 stars – Should he have taken her back?

Ms. Cole writes with a very easy reading style and that is evident in this story about Chloe and Tyler. But I have to say, I really didn’t like Chloe at all. She was such a bitch (was so mean) to Tyler, he was in love with her and so sensitive, he really didn’t understand why she acted they way she did in shutting him out; it took me over half the book before I started to warm up to her. Once she got over herself and wormed her way back into Ty’s life, I did like to see the progress of their relationship and how they went about dealing with setbacks and issues, so that was a plus for her. I thought the story ended abruptly but on a happy note. I look forward to seeing their relationship grow albeit in the background as the others in this group of friends get their own stories.

Despite the deepening relationship that was building between Chloe and Tyler she believed the only way to protect her heart was to leave him and her hometown behind however she broke his heart instead.

Tyler wasn’t about to just let Chloe walk away but his attempt to pursue her was an epic fail which left him devastated and headed for a downward spiral. Just when he has his life back on trust Chloe returns but will this be their second chance or are they headed for heartbreak once again?

Chloe and Tyler take us on an emotional journey as they must not only battle the obstacles that life throws at them but the obstacles that they create as well.

Tyler and Chloe were had a rough start for me. The story took a little longer to come together for me. Chloe seemed a little immature for tyler and he seemed a little too hot headed when it comes to Chloe and his jealousy. Loved the storyline once I was able to get into it.
