Two hearts. One fate. Their love is forbidden by all.
Saoirse The Fae King almost caught me trying to escape. I’m on a mission to save our Spring of Life and our immortality. I’ve seen enough death. Father refuses to believe we’re not safe inside the Summer Court, so I secretly search Earth for a cure. I also use men while I’m in heat. Seems fitting, since the humans took so much from us, but then I meet a man who makes me feel things I shouldn’t for a human.
Arrow Returning home after battling wildfires, I never expected to scent my fated mate. And a rare Fae at that. One whiff of her scent, one look into her eyes, one touch of her body, and I’m overwhelmed by the urge to mark her. Claim her as mine. It shouldn’t happen when she doesn’t know I’m a wolf shifter, but my teeth sink into her pretty neck with ease. We are now joined in the way of wolf shifters, but what does that mean for a Fae?
Fae’s Wolf is the second standalone romance story of the Summer Court fantasy romance series featuring powerful Fae royals who find their fated mates on their quest to save the Fae.
It’s perfect for fans of portal worlds, intrigue, suspense, heartfelt emotions, explosive chemistry, love, and happily ever after.
Helen Walton is a tea drinking, chocoholic, romance writer. Stories are her obsession, and she adores creating sweet and sensual romances containing a sprinkling of humor and the all-important happy ending. She lives in South Australia with her family, and menagerie of quirky animals where they all take her away from her book world and demand to be fed. Lucky for them, she enjoys cooking but prefers baking.
Having not read the first book I was worried it would be hard for me to pick up although this is a standalone within a series and my worries were unnecessary.
Love how fast paced this book was, I enjoyed the spicy elements as well as the overall plot. It was an easy read and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy/fae/spice.
I'll definitely be going back and reading the first book too
I received a free copy of this book via Helen Walton's Review Club and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I recently finished Helen Walton's How the Grinch Lusted After Santa and was offered this book for review, so I thought, 'Although I'm not in the mood for fantasy, I am in the mood for a good shifter romance,' so I decided to read this. And just like I had expected, this romance did not disappoint.
Although Arrow and Saoirse were complete opposites, they were brilliantly written as meant to be together. Where Arrow was sure about his instincts of mating with her, Saoirse wasn't as in tune with her own emotions until she returned to her realm. Where Saoirse was determined to return to Arrow, he thought she didn't want him. It was utter chaos (an entertaining one) with one character going after the other and vice versa, misunderstandings galore, dramatic scenarios, a ton of sex, and Sledge. Sledge is the epitome of chaos and was my favourite character. He gave off a lot of 'no fucks given' vibe, which I adore, so I'm really looking forward to reading his book when it's published.
The supernatural/fantasy elements in this book were good, but the background plot of the Fae realm suffering was mostly glossed over for the romance between Arrow and Saoirse. I understand that this book is part of a series, but I would have preferred to see the realm's suffering at least halted with magic or something else to give the reader a sense of completion for the time being. Still, I wasn't too worried about the background problem (even though it was originally the reason for Saoirse's arrival in town).
The book had a lot of block paragraphs, which are distracting for readers with attention problems, so it was a bit difficult for me to read it without my eyes scanning the lines for important information. There were flowery descriptions and exposition in the paragraphs; I wasn't as interested in reading that, but it worked well for the smut scenes.
Thanks to Booksprout and the author for a copy of this book.
I didn’t really like this book – it was rushed, and over the top.
Saoirse is trying to find out why the Spring of Life is drying out, and she visits Earth often because she believes she’ll find an answer there. Arrow is a firefighter, who’s just finished his shift when he smells his mate.
Maybe Arrow and Saoirse might have been fine characters, but the over the top and dramatic nature of their actions wasn’t for me. Also, it felt like half of the book was just them having sex so it didn’t feel like you actually got to know them.
There were some other characters, but none of them were developed and they all felt like they only appeared to remind you of the so called plot and maybe add something else to it. For example, Saoirse’s meeting with Arrow’s mother felt so fake because she scents that Saoirse is Fae and attacks her, but the second she realises Arrow marked her, she’s excited. It felt like a forced way of reminding the reader that supernaturals hate the Fae, only for it to be undermined by Arrow’s mother’s one eighty when she becomes excited.
There were some things that happened that didn’t really make sense. For example, . Also, I didn’t really understand the first chapter that you got of the next book which is that Saoirse is apparently missing. Why didn’t the parents just say where she is, and if not them, then her brothers, who even if they didn’t know for certain, then I feel like they should have suspected since they knew about her mate?
This book could have been fine, but the main characters weren’t developed enough to like, the plot wasn’t thought out, and I didn’t really like the side characters that were shown. I’m definitely not continuing with the series, and I probably won’t try other books by this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Helen Walton's Review Club and am voluntarily leaving a review. I have to say I actually didn’t have a whole lot of high hopes for this book but it proved me wrong in the best way. I love Saoirse the main female character of this story. She is strong and independent but yet feminine in ways that doesn’t make me cringe. What I mean by this is it’s quite often we get a strong female heroine that is great till she meets the love interest and then becomes this very dependable person that relies on said love interest.
Not Saoirse, she may like the dominate behavior of her mate Arrow but she has no qualms in putting him in his place when needed and defending herself.
I also want to praise the author in the world she has built and how the connection between the summer court and earth works. Now I do wish it was explained more on the history but I also want to add that this is the first book of hers I’ve read. I have NOT read the first one yet and so there might be more explanation on that in the first book.
But the fact that I could read the second book and follow along and understand how things worked and what little history I got says a lot for the authors writing skills. I do plan on reading the first one of course and I look forward to what happens next!
If I had to give one negative critique it would be this, I do wish there was more interactions and build up between certain character not just the main character but obviously ones that will stick around in the series and are forming bonds with main characters.
And lastly here is one hope that I have for the rest of the series is that not all the romances are going to be a whirl wind like Saoirse and Arrows. I do hope each one goes through its own twists and turns.
Saoirse is the middle daughter of King Fintan and Queen Niamh of the Fae. Along with her parents, and siblings, she lives in a protected palace located in the Fae Realm where, King Fintan has sealed the veil leading to the Human Realm in the aftermath of the atrocities committed against the Fae, in the past where his own father and mother as well as his son in law and his grandson without forgetting Jiang's parents were burned alive by humans that the new king eliminated. His own children were injured, his wife was badly burned as well as his daughter. He has forbidden any Fae to travel to the Human Realm. Saoirse affinity and power is water and she noticed that the source of life for the Fae, the spring located in the Palace's atrium. Is slowly drying up and she must find a way to stop the process and replenish the water. However, her theory is that she must travel to Earth to solve this problem as well as get her dose of sex without the risk of getting pregnant. She crosses the veil to Earth where she meets a firefighter named Arrow who, without her knowledge marks her as his mate.
The author crafted a very well written story that grips the reader from the start with it's fill of Magic, Love, mischief, Paranormal species of all types, parental discipline, tragedy, adventure and, Romance. I highly recommend this book and rate it 5 Stars.
Overall, the book was boring. It's such a shame because I can see the potential. It has all the makings to be a binge worthy read: an interesting world, interesting characters, high stakes, and two main characters with intense chemistry. What it lacks is action and editing. There were a lot of redunant lines, some info dumping, unused characters, and repeativeness. You could make a drinking game out of how many times certain characters refer to each other being their mate. It got to the point that I was ready to throw my ereader out of the window. We get it! Despite all of this, I kept reading until the end. I wanted to see how this ended and thought this book would get better. I thought wrong. I had such high hopes for this book and was left disappointed, when I got to the last page. If you're just looking for spice, then you won't be disappointed. But, if you like action with it, then maybe you should skip this.
While this book is part of a series, you don’t need to have read the first book to be up to speed. If you’re looking for a stand-alone fantasy with lots of spice, this is a great read.
With that being said, most of the plot revolves around Arrow & Saoirse mating, and although there’s quite a bit of history hinted at between the humans, wolves, and fae; it doesn’t go much further than that. Personally, I feel like if the author had gone more in depth with that history, some of the more awkward encounters in the book would make more sense (like when we meet Arrow’s mom and pack leader, etc.) and the world building would have been much better.
Overall, this is a great read if you’re looking for lots of smut and not an overwhelming amount of plot. Thanks to Helen Waltons and Booksprout for the opportunity to read the ARC!
Saoirse is determined to find out why the spring of life is declining. She travels to earth secretly but times it badly as she is going into heat. She needs to find a willing man to help her through it. She finds Arrow and is captivated by him, even though she thinks he is human. As soon as Arrow see Saoirse he know that she is his mate. He also know that she is a Fae. He doesn’t care and whisks her off her feet and back to his place to thoroughly ravish her. Saorise is still has the problem to discover why the spring of life is diminishing but, also the added problem of her infatuation with Arrow and the fact that (she thinks) he is human. This is a captivating and sweet story that sucks you in and you want to continue reading when you reach the end, especially with the teaser chapters for the next book at the end. 5 stars!
I started this book without reading the first and it was very easy to follow along. I did go back and read the first. This book was very fast paced and provided great detail without dragging on too much. It was a very smutty book and if that isn’t what you are looking for, this probably isn’t the book for you. I greatly enjoyed it. Sometimes in my reads, the books are all smut no plot. While this book certainly edged into the territory, I still think the plot was ok. I really enjoyed the overall through of bringing two “genre/worlds”(fae/shifter) together like this. I have not seen much else like this book. The world building was unique. A lot of shifter books are the same, but I enjoyed her thought process to make it different. Overall, I would rate this like a 3.75/5!.

The story was fun to read, it was a bit too fast paced for me. I would’ve loved to have a bit more world building. I also wouldn’t have mind for a few parts in the story to take a bit longer. Some of the obstacles where solved quite easily. I believe it would’ve made me feel closer to the characters if the story build a bit more up to it.
The energie between the main characters was quite good, they make a good couple. Spoiler alert: if you enjoy the ‘pregnancy’ trope this would be quite a good book for you. It is not my favorite trope though. Even so, I enjoyed the story. I would like to give 3,5 stars as I enjoyed their Saoirse and Arrow their journey.

This is the second installment of the Fated Mates of the Fae Royals series however, it can be read as a standalone novel. I did not read the first before reading this book. Very spicy scenes and I highly recommend to lovers of spicy content without a lot of plot. The story of how the two main characters meet and their backstories are fairly straightforward though not as detailed as I’m accustomed to. I’d have liked to get a bit more of who these characters really were on their own beforehand. The novel was 100% a page turner I couldn’t put it down, it was over before I was ready. I absolutely plan to go back and read the first novel and look forward to the third.

The fated mate story of Arrow and Saorise was interesting to say the least. It was a slow burn for me at first and then it picked up as you read along. They are both opposites what they each wanted from each other and finally found it when they knew that were fated to be together at last. This book is the second in that series and can be read by itself. If you want a book with whole lot of spice and smut and not much else, this is your book to read😉 Sledge was my favorite character in the whole book bc I related to him with being the one who didn’t hold back and so on. I can’t wait to read his story.

Arc review- It took me a while to get into the first 33%, but after…omg I could not get enough. Her father being super strict us understandable, but almost too much. I absolutely loved this story and ate it up. I did not have a chance to read book one first, but felt fine reading it as a stand-alone (can not wait for book 3!). I was a little irked that she (a fae) also have fated mates but did not realize until super late in the book. During that time I hated, but you have to push through and it later makes sense why. I am so happy how the book ended up. I am a bit different and love a pregnancy trope in pnr. I hope we get to see a little bit of the kid in the future books. Overall a 8.5/10🥰
Love love love!!! This series continues to be fast paced books but this didn't have quite as many time jumps and focused on Saoirse and Arrow's journey. Saoirse has a lot of pressure weighing over her from her siblings to fix their spring in the Summer Court. Since her main power is water they think she should be the one to hold or find the cure. Saoirse became my favorite character in the series so far in this book and I love Arrow for her. They are polar opposites but they connection between them is so strong that even her father, The King, doesn't stand a chance in keeping them apart. I can't wait to keep reading this series to see what happens in the next in the series.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for a review.
While they can be stand-alone, as background is explained, I recommend reading the first book as I did. This installment was a much easier read; it flowed well with a good balance of action, story, and character emotion. Told from two points of view, you get to see the reasons behind each MC action. While the MCs get a wrapped up story of their own, the overall “world issue” is not solved and two side characters are brought to the front at the end to presumably have their own story next.
I love the whole "touch her and I’ll kill you vibes" but let me tell you- when it’s the woman throwing these vibes around…🔥🔥 The tables were definitely turned in this book. Not only was the FMC the more sexually experienced one, but she was also the one just out there looking for a quick f*ck.
To me, all of the characters were relatable. They held secrets and putting their trust in the newcomer was something that had to be earned. The plot held my attention the whole time and I just couldn’t put this book down!
I thought the first half was a little slow and all we read about was Saorise's heat. I was also annoyed that she couldn't figure out her mate. But then as the events unfolded, everything made sense and I loved it! My only issue was with the name Saorise. I know the author told us how to pronounce it but I kept on forgetting so had to flip to the front to see the pronunciation. Overall, I enjoyed the story and can't wait for the third book.

What can I say about this book. Well the story is greatly put together. Arrow has to be my favorite character in this story, then again who wouldn't love the wolf shifter Arrow. Not only does Arrow do everything he can to protect Saoirse but not once does he second guess how he is feeling for this beautiful Fea princess. As for Saoirse this woman is badass that is all I can say about her. Saoirse is everything one would like in the lead woman character. I say this book is a must read.
The first book in this series was as glorious as it was heart-breaking. It laid the groundwork for the rest of the series. Fae’s Wolf is the second in this series where we now start to see the Fae King and Queen’s children find their mates. Having snuck onto Earth for the last few decades to satisfy her heat, Saoirse finds more than she bargained for this time. There’s plenty of heat between Saoirse and Arrow and even a little heartache. Their story checks all my boxes!! 5 stars!!
I genuinely enjoyed this book the plot was quick and snappy it was spicy and it had a lot of connections to the first book in the series while still being able to be read as a stand alone. It had a good amount of tension and genuinely I read it in like two days I could not put it down once it got its hook in me.

I did read both the first book and this one, and I did like this one much better. I liked the story line more in this, and I liked meeting the new characters. I did think the end was a clever lead in to what I’m assuming will be the next book. I did wish there was a little more story development to this book though.

The female lead was 🔥🔥🔥 I had not read book 1, which I was a little worried about but doesn’t appear to be a problem. However, I loved this one so definitely will be going back and reading! Was so happy to have the opportunity to read. Was an easy read with a great story, spice factor was 🔥 if you love the fantasy world this is a great read!.

Helen Walton paints a grand picture between Saoirse and Arrow of love that spans two realms. It's a quick burn, but doesn't lack on spice. My biggest qualm is I felt we didn't get enough time getting to know our main characters. Regardless, this was a page turner that I couldn't put down. I can't wait to see what book 3 holds for us.

Saoirse is a Fae princess forbidden from entering the world of humans, but it's the easiest way to scratch a persistent itch. A hot firefighter is exactly what the Fae ordered. A hot firefighter who wants to do a lot more than scratch that itch, on the other hand...
Whew, that was a steamy read. A marked improvement on the first book, partly because there were no time skips - and mostly because Arrow was a very loveable hero. It's also the perfect length to read in bed before lights out.
I loved the first book, but this one was a bit of a there and nowhere plot. Like the king became a villain and I hated that! There was no world setting or anything going on. like Saiorse's mission was to find the cure for their lake, and she never even searched for anything throughout the book. She got laid (numerous time), and there was a talk of her needing to find the cure, but nothing was done.
honestly after the first book with it spanning several hundred years this one was kinda meh...
This is a simple and easy story to read. The plot is straightforward, and the characters are likable. There are maybe some additional drama that is not needed and could drive the same point with less drastic choices from the charaters, but all in all an enjoyable story.

I really enjoyed this sequel to the Summer Court series, it had what I enjoyed about the first and improved upon this. I enjoyed the fantasy romance going on in it and thought it was well written. I'm excited to read more from Helen Walton and more in this series.

This was a book I loved reading. It’s fast paced paranormal romance. It’s a page turner with wonderful, storyline and characters that had a great chemistry together. I loved watching Arrow and Saoirse together and I recommend their story.

Ok so I read the first book Fae's Song a while ago and I have now decided after reading Fae's Wolf that I must binge the whole series. Could not get enough of this book! My arse seriously needs kicking for not getting onto this series sooner. Being Australian I absolutely loved part of the world being set in the Australian outback. It is one great paranormal book with a difference.
