John Wolfe never thought he'd see the world outside his prison cell again. His brand of vicious vigilante justice had landed him a life sentence, one which he intended to serve peacefully. But when an EMP wipes out the nation's power grid, John must fight for his life through a sea of rapists, murderers, and psychopaths on a mission to return to his wife's side and ensure her safety as the world descends into chaos.
So there’s always this one person who seems invincible in a lot of these stories. John Wolfe is that person in this one. I wanted him to feel something other than anger. I want to think there is hope for him in the future. Not sure how people wouldn’t know who Silas was as he introduced himself, seems like he would have been just as ‘infamous’ as the Wolfe. This is a great series. I highly recommend it. Narration by Cheryl May was exceptional. I was given this book in exchange for a review.
This is one of those books you don’t want to put down. The US was changed in a moment. The power grid was attacked and there was no longer any power in NYC.
The Wolfe a killer knew he had to get out of prison to make sure his wife, Judy was ok.
Judy knew she and her friends Stewart and Reba had to reach John’s bunker to be safe.
Please please please keep up the great writing . I have never written a review for a book before and now I know why. I had never read this one . I gave it 5 stars because there weren't 10 to give . I recommend this book to anyone that has the time to read it from start to finish because you will not want to put it down .
The author does a fantastic job involving you the reader to the characters in the book. The way he writes makes you feel connected to his characters with every emotion imaginable. The book progresses in such a way that you are drawn in at every level. OMG !!
An EMP leaves a high security prison of death row inmates able to walk out of their cells. In the ensuing chaos and blood battles, two high profile deadly prisoners escape, each with an agenda. The book was good but the end was left open unfinished with no hints of a follow upbook.
I loved the characters. John was a great anti hero and Solar was as diabolical as one can get. I liked the fact that the author didn't really dwell on the EMP. It happened and everyone had to deal with it. I would have given five stars except for the frequent editing issues.
This book has a despicable plot and is so violent and unbelievable I chose not to finish it. I read to chapter 27 before deciding it was too disgusting to continue. I am a fan of EMP books and have read most that have been published. Never have I chosen to quit reading one because it was so distasteful to me, until I tried to read this one.
Thank you Mr. Valentean for an excellent story with very believable characters who I will miss. It was a hard to put down page turner that kept me up a few nights but definitely worth it. I will be looking for more of your books in the future.
A great story until it turned into a Harlequin romance. Still a good story. There were several typos and misuse of pronouns. Maybe it would behoove you to hire a proof reader.
