SPECIAL NOTE. Hurricane Ian caused devastation across the state of Florida. As a 15-year resident of Sanibel Island, it has been a heartbreaking experience to see what just happened to our Southwest Florida community.
In efforts to help, I will be releasing my novel Steps to the Beach one month early and all proceeds (until the end of 2022) will be donated to the Florida Disaster Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization. If you would like to donate or learn more about the fund visit www.volunteerflorida.org
CHRISTINE LEMMON grew up in Saugatuck, Michigan, in a house attached to her family’s ice-cream shop and bed & breakfast. From childhood on, she wrote feverishly in her diaries. After graduating from Hope College, she moved around the country writing for radio, newspaper, television, and magazines. She also worked as a publicist for a nonfiction publishing house in northern California.
As well as writing novels, she enjoys taking walks through nature preserves, and boating with friends and family along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Not only is Sanibel the setting for her novels, it was the setting for her life for nearly two decades, and she is incredibly thankful to have raised her family in the close-knit island community.
She speaks at events, including book clubs, and loves connecting with her readers. Visit her online at www.ChristineLemmon.com.

Reader’s Thoughts: This heartwarming book was filled with faith and chapters devoted to prayer. This book was extremely long, meant to be savored. You definitely had to be in the right mindset to read this book. Although this book wasn’t really my cup of tea you could tell the love and devotion put into this book by the author. The coastal setting had me wishing I was on a beach in a better place in my life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a motivational type of read.
Available now in Paperback and eBook ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She and her husband move to the island, renovate the home and grounds, connect with college friend, read her mom’s old letters to god, and live their life. All at a very detailed level of the activities, and internal ongoing conversation with god. The book did not move you along, took me three weeks to read and found it hard to stay connected, to a point of skipping chapters to just make progress. I had this in my to read list for a while, and was excited finally a narration available. The narration can add or take away from a book, in this case the AI narration took away and I had to stop and just read without, further slowing me down. The book was more than where I am at right now, not a bad read, just too long and slow for me to enjoy.
I was inspired to make the bowl of walnuts, raspberries, goat cheese and raw honey as a quick meal.
Christine Lemmon has a beautiful way of looking at the world as a daughter of God. So many of us accept Jesus into our hearts and souls as children and allow they things of this world to get in the way of maintaining that relationship. We must always nature our connection to our Lord and Savior. The words in this book were beautifully written to do that. God bless you, Christine.
What a remarkable story! It talks about life and how we get so busy it gets in the way of your relationship with God and it is so true. It points out that no matter what, He is always there for us. It tells of all the beauty in the world that surrounds us and that peace is just a prayer away. God is always there to listen and be there for us always.
Great book. Came at a great time for me. My favorite quote so far involved storms...."Things show up out of nowhere...illnesses, layoffs, stock market unscheduled stops drop us not where we planned or wanted to be but for reasons unknowns to us where we were meant to be.
so full of God's love and faith! Almost a month to read it because I had to absorb every passage, every bible scripture, every worship and every prayer!
I found this book while I was on a beach vacation. I wouldn't call it a beach read due to its length and depth, but it did capture a certain lightness along with the flora and fauna of Sanibel Island. Now I want to visit the island more than ever. Adele was endearing and believable, and her journey was inspiring and hope-filled.
Steps to the Beach is the best Christian fiction book I have read. It had true to life situations and characters. Most importantly it contained nuggets of Christian truths and scriptures neatly interwoven within a compelling story. The descriptions of the birds and plants is luring me to revisit FL. I usually fly through books in a day or two. But this was a book to savor. I ordered this book for my sister and recommended it to friends with Kindle.
