What Amazon readers are saying about the Stoneblood Saga books. ★★★★★ Great coming of age fantasy story! ★★★★★ Best Ever! ★★★★★ A most enjoyable book with a great mix of "sword and sorcery" and credible characters. ★★★★★ This is a great series of books. I just couldn't stop reading them. Suitable for teens and up, way up.
The story itself is pretty well done, flows, didn't always turn out the way you'd expect, and keeps you interested. The main issue is that there are many, many missing words, incorrect words, and grammatical issues that kept throwing me out of the story. The same is true with the Dragonblood series.
The overall storyline was very good if even a bit disjointed in parts. There were times when you could tell the author was thinking of maybe another plot twist. But then changed his mind. Such as when Nathan's wound was bleeding purple blood. But then nothing came of it. Also, a few times, the characters' names would get mixed up. He would refer to the wrong character in an event or situation. Which was very annoying. In saying all that, I enjoyed the overall storyline very much.
Book 1: Son of Soron A few proofreading errors that tend to drive me crazy, but a very interesting story! I'm looking forward to finding out what comes next in Nathan's growth as a young man, warrior, and magic user. I'm also wondering if we'll know what happens with Sharon?
Book 2: The Missing Mage Very nice to see Sharon active and growing in the second book. Again, a few proofreading errors, but not as many as book one. Some of the times are awkward - two days to get somewhere but less than a day to get back....bit awkward. The story itself, still intriguing! On to book three to see what adventures we encounter.
Book 3: Siege of Pailtar Odd twist to have enemies become allies. Love the new characters as well as the growth of the main ones. Still building interest. Not quite sure where it's going with the Duke.
Book 4: Dark Tidings The war is happening quite fast. The Baltan royal family's surname changed mid-book. The typos that weren't edited grew again. The story itself still interesting, I'm still looking forward to the next book. I wonder how the Baltans found out the villains name though since Nathan had no way to tell them before he saw them? Some of the uses of magic are interesting, something different from the norm.
Book 5: Treachery in Tarnstead Again with the surname change. Not too many errors in the editing. The story sort of stalls. It moves forward, but strange. I hope book 6 pulls my interest back in. A civil war was obvious, even if the way it began wasn't what I thought it would be.
Book 6: The Mad King Such a shame so many main characters gone! I could cry over it. Many interesting turns in the action though, and finally someone took care of the stupid king! The gullible fool. Yes, Book 6 caught me up again. I'd like to know what went wrong with the rune to disarm the wall. On to 7.
Book 7: Legacy Well, that was a very quick final battle. Still a few inconsistencies with time, still need a better proofreading. Very interesting though, and you've left it wide open for more.....I'd very much like to read more.
I almost have up on this in the first couple of chapters. Better editing could have made a difference. Structure was not great, got better, faltered again etc. One thing that was bothersome to me was the repetition, especially with nouns. Many times, the same character would be mentioned 5 or 6 times in the same paragraph. One run-on sentence had more than 60 words. Several chapters would then be fine before another bad chapter would show up. I managed to read 4 of the 7 books. For the most part, he brought in new characters fairly smoothly, but magic was so widespread among most of the good guys it diluted their impact. There was only one character that was truly at odds with the rest, and even he became a good guy for a while. I found it to be a stretch for him to have killed everyone in the good guys village, and then be working along side of him later with few hard feelings. People are flawed, but the main character wasn't. He was the biggest and the strongest (a giant), discovered he was magic, a king, could talk to his horse and girlfriend telepathically etc. etc. There were opportunities to inject more action, but they too often just told after it was over.
I really enjoyed the series. Mind you the author would benefit from having someone proofread his work. Several times the wrong characters name will be used while speaking about the intended character. The family name Albet changes to Alton consistently. Darcarions become decarions. Words are often missing. Overusage of the same word in a small sentence. Incorrect usage of the word woman/women.
Some of the story seems rushed and the deaths of some characters seem impossible due to that characters abilities and development.
The final battle is short-lived and left wondering if there will be another book.

A fun and interesting adventure series I couldn't put down. I love the hunt for that novel when it seems too click-when you know you found the right series! A series you can't wait to see what happens next. Just the right mix of hero's & loyal friend to Fight the Armies of darkness. If you like magic, sorcery, adventure, friend ship, and the quest for treasure this is a great series of stories.
I can't wait to see what the other series by Robyn Wiseman and others have in the land of fantasy and adventure
It had typos on nearly every page, from wrong names, extra words or even words messing. I wasn't going to finish after the first book, but I continued. The writing did get better, but typos remained. I noticed an over abundance of repeating information happening at times. Each ending seemed quick, some of the lesser battles had more drama & suspense, while the ending of each book wrapped up in a few short pages. Overall, if you can make it through the first 2 books, you might as well finish the whole series.
I really enjoyed the story being told. The characters liven up the story. Heroine, and hero’s give the story a nice balance. This series is hard to put down. Only negative, is some of the editing. Since you have more than a few, it can be distracting and it interrupts the flow of story. That being said. I want you to know I enjoyed your books and would read other books you write. As long as you don’t swamp me with advertisements. When Authors do that, I never read their books again. Keep writing you are talented!
I would like to say firstly that I was both amazed and disappointed. I was amazed at the conversational dialogue. It flowed so beautifully well. I could picture everything is the stories as were played out, easy to follow, and nicely laid out. Now, I was disappointed with the ending. There was no climax to the battles, no dialogue from the aggressor, no build up to the final strike, just ok it's done, let's go home, it was a sad anti climax, quite dull frankly. But, on the whole, an enjoyable set of books that will keep you wanting to keep reading into the night. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I have read this and the Dragon Blood sagas and feel both have great characters and storylines but the spelling and grammar is appalling. I have carried on reading as I have enjoyed the plots but on many occasions it has been difficult to follow as the proof reading leaves an awful lot to be desired and has spoilt the stories for me. The Dragon Blood Saga was by far the worst and the stories didn’t really tie together as there are characters from both sagas in both sagas! Sorry, confused? So was I!
This is a really enjoyable series, great unfolding storyline and characters you really like as they grow into their talents and abilities.
Like many others though, I really would encourage the author to employ the services of a proof-reader/editor as there are too many grammatical errors or words missing which are jarring - or incorrect names used when the character or narrative is talking about someone else entirely. It's very hard to proof your own work, so please get another person to do it! I mean this kindly as the story itself is fantastic.
A real shame about the lack of checking it through.
A great fun read, the storyline is wonderful, well thought through. I really enjoyed it. As I see it, it is such a shame about the lack of editing. The names of characters occasionally get changed around a bit, the genders also he becomes she her, then reverts back again. As the story was so good, I tried to ignore the odd confusion and cracked on. Well worth it. Considering the price charged for the whole set what's not to love.
Generally enjoyable read, though as others have mentioned the editing should have been much better. For example, occasionally characters’ names are wrong.
There were a few times when the story telling slipped into either child speak, or over-borrowed ideas from elsewhere. I nearly stopped reading when I reached the puzzle tiled floor and huge spiders.
However, over all the series is successful and worth your time.
I had no expectations when I first began this series as Mr. Wiseman was a new author to me. However, just a little way into the first book, his skill in storytelling and characterization became very clear! Watching Nathan Stoneblood grow, learn and change was very enjoyable and there was never a time that the experience lagged! I am looking forward to reading additional books by Mr. Wideman.
Seldom can a authet write a serie of books that can make you want to read each individual word and not skip to the next adventure. He makes reading the wordswhere even the mundane part of living interesting. his stories have very good plot. it is interesting all the way through.
The premise isn't bad; its a trope for a reason, but the author hasn't done anything to make it his own. I will admit, I didn't make it past the first book, but the writing seemed forced. I also don't care for cookie cutter good guys who never have an unworthy thought..
Loved the story, exciting& thrilling, some really fun characters & some really nasty ones, the only problem I have with these books is the repeating of details all the way through. Using feel the need , also the names, kept getting names of characters wrong. Still a great story and would happily read more.
The grammar was horrendous, the plot was simple and obvious, and modern phrases were used in this medieval setting which was jolting. The characters were poorly described in every way, and fell flat. I'm sorry, but this is one of the most poorly written stories in the genre. I got through 3% and couldn't take anymore.
There was nothing to dislike. I wanted more, when I finished the last book. I hope you continue with some more to the story. It seems like you left it unfinished. I really hope you continue with a good ending for Prince Stoneblood and Sharon. Plus Quinton and Rose. Thank you for the good read. Alice Robertson
I really enjoyed this series. I do have a few issues. A lot of character details could have been added as I had no idea how some people looked or their ages. Some spelling mistakes and wrong names on occasion. Saying that I liked a lot and popular characters dying was a good addition.
Robyn Wiseman does it again, a super good fantasy adventure!!!
Another really great fantasy adventure by Robyn Wideman, whom can count on for really great fantasy adventure. You will find magic, witches, male and female, magic users, really bad,bad guys, and heroes as well. Come and get it for your next great fantasy adventure!!!
I absolutely loved reading everyone of these books,I have been spellbound by them,I'm just hoping there will be more adventures for Nathan, Sharon, Rose,Camile and the rest of the team in the very near future. Fantastic story's I'm going to miss reading about the characters xxx
Well written, too bad it's filled with errors. Name changes, misspelled names. People talking to people who are away. Not to mention spelling errors and grammar nightmares.
Sadly this will get a story with 1 or 2 stars off. The editing should make 2 stars off, but the story itself kept it at one. Hopefully different versions in the future will be less annoying.
This seven books series was an adventurous and well written set of books. My biggest issue was that the proof readers and editors were nor very good as many errors throughout all seven books were noted. Enjoyed the story line as much as the first six books.
It keep you constantly on your toes and enter acted with each character. So full of action and feelings. The suspense was just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and you didn't want to put it down. Just wanted to keep reading. I loved it.
I love the story line and the building of the characters’ abilities. I could only criticize that you needed someone to edit it a bit. Misplaced words and characters’ names took away from the story a little bit for me. Other than that though it has been an awesome adventure.
I just love the big sagas, especially when you can read them all at once! It's always was to get to the and wonder....what's next? The story line was great and interesting and the characters were great. There were lots of spelling mistakes and a few others but nothing a bit more proof reading wouldn't help with. Overall, I just loved it.
The entire series was absolutely fantastic couldn't put it down from the first pages, if you want a captivating storyline that will keep you reading this author and this series is for you, I would give it 10 stars if it was possible and can't wait to read more from this author
Stoneblood Saga Complete Boxset. by Robyn Wideman.
Another fantastic book, wonderful characters and brilliant storyline. I love reading a complete tale, you can follow the story as if you were with them around a campsite. Brilliant well done.Gary Challenger from Devon UK.
I really didn't want it to end. I felt like I knew each one as they journyed through the steps you created for them. Have truly enjoyed reading your books.
